Religious Right author Joel Rosenberg says that people like Jon Stewart of The Daily Show share in the blame for the Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting because they have waged a “cultural war against Jesus and Christmas” and tried to “drive [God] out of our society.” Like American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer, Rosenberg claims that God did not stop the massacre because God is a “gentleman”: “If a nation tells Him to leave, He will leave.”
All this is so painful to see, so heart-wrenching. I look at my own children —... MORE

WorldNetDaily columnist Burt Prelutsky claims that the supposed War on Christmas is the fault of “my fellow Jews” who intend to “pull off their own version of the Spanish Inquisition, forcing Christians to either deny their faith and convert to agnosticism or suffer the consequences.”
“When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists and the largely Jewish funded ACLU at the forefront,” he writes, “anti-Semitism is no longer a problem in society; it’s been replaced by a rampant anti-... MORE

The Media Research Center’s professional hyperventilator Dan Gainor appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show yesterday to warn conservatives that they are losing ground in the “War on Christmas” as the media and liberals have teamed up to stop Christmas celebrations everywhere! He channeled Bryan Fischer in arguing that the “War on Christmas” is really a “war on Christ” and part of the left’s evil plot to “eradicate” and “destroy” religion.
Gainor: If you are a person of faith in this country, any faith unless it’s... MORE

Buster Wilson of the American Family Association as of late has dedicated his radio program to fighting the so-called “War on Christmas,” railing against municipalities that don’t erect Nativity Scenes and stores that say “Happy Holidays.” Of course, Chick-fil-A has so far escaped his wrath even though the company easily fails the AFA’s “War on Christmas” test.
Last week, Wilson made the absurd argument that not having a Nativity Scene on public property is direct a violation of his First Amendment rights of freedom of religion and his God-given... MORE

For many Religious Right groups, Christmas is not so much a time to celebrate Immanuel than it is to raise money by fomenting outrage when shops use slogans like “happy holidays.” The American Family Association has a “Naughty or Nice” list to stir up consumers to boycott companies which are “against Christmas” and yesterday Liberty Counsel announced its “Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign,” targeting public spaces which “censor” Christmas and selling their “Help Save Christmas Acton Pack.”
As Jeremy Hooper noted yesterday... MORE

Liberty Counsel is spending the holiday season the best way they know how, by ratcheting up the rhetoric on the supposed “War on Christmas” and demanding that stores say “Merry Christmas” to customers and politicians place sectarian symbols in the public square. The group has been particularly outraged over Rhode Island’s display of a “Holiday Tree,” even comparing it to a military threat from North Korea and accusing Governor Lincoln Chafee of “kow-towing to the Commies,” saying he “is well-suited for survival at the North Korea... Liberty Counsel, in an alert to members today, compared North Korea’s threat against South Korea over a church group’s Christmas light display near the DMZ to the so-called “War on Christmas” in America. North Korea reacted furiously to the Christmas lights which could be seen in some cities near the border, leading to a not-so-thinly veiled threat against its southern neighbor.
This caught the eye of Liberty Counsel, which has been fighting the purported “War on Christmas” in America and likened Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee to the totalitarian... MORE
