Gun Lobbyist Ties Charleston Shooting To Transgender Rights

In a radio interview on Monday, Gun Owners of America official Erich Pratt tied the mass shooting at a black church in Charleston to the transgender rights movement, saying both are products of a school system that teaches that “there is no absolute right or wrong.”

“Sadly, I think for a lot of the education that takes place in our country, the kids are being taught, ‘You decide, you decide your own morality.’” he said. “We’re being told that you decide everything from your gender to your own morality.”

This, he said, was the root of the thinking of the Charleston shooter and of Hitler: “Well, if you are in that position where you are autonomous and you decide what’s right and wrong, in this guy’s mind, as sick as it is, he might have thought he was actually doing society a favor. Certainly Hitler did, with his mass murders, he really thought he was doing society a favor. And that’s the problem, if there is no absolute right or wrong. And as we know, that’s not being taught.”

Just one day after the attack in Charleston, Pratt, publicly condemned the church’s slain pastor, Rev. Clementa Pinckney, for his “anti-gun” activism as a state senator. Erich’s father, GOA Executive Director Larry Pratt also blamed Pinckney for leaving his congregation “defenseless” against an attacker.

Glenn Beck And Star Parker See The Upside Of Charleston: More Guns In The Inner City

On his television program last night, Glenn Beck interviewed right-wing activist Star Parker about last week's racist shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Beck and Parker were both encouraged that positive developments would come out of this tragedy ... such as more people who live in the inner city deciding that they need guns for self-protection.

"This weekend, I heard with the gun debate, black families in Chicago and inner cities going, 'No, no no, it's time now to arm," Beck said. "It's going the other direction. While the left is pushing for gun control, the inner city, the African Americans are the ones saying, "No, no, no."

"I'm glad they are getting to the place where they embrace our constitutional right to bear arms, the Second Amendment," Parker responded. "Because if you think about why there is so much murder in the black community, especially our at-risk communities where we have concentrated poverty through welfare policy, the blacks, only 16 percent even own an arm. So when you have an unarmed people, then those that are armed, the gangsters, will come and wreak havoc over your community."

"I hope that it takes a little bit of time" for blacks in the inner city to fully arms themselves, Parker added, "because we don't want a race war."

Larry Pratt: 'The Second Amendment Was Designed For People Just Like The President' And 'Democrats Who Want To Take Our Rights'

Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, spoke to Roger Fredinburg on his far-right radio show in April about the attempt by Congress to restrict armor-piercing bullets. Pratt, responding to Fredinburg’s theory that the left wants to take away everyone’s rifles, said “we figured that’s kinda what they were up to.”

“The Second Amendment was designed for people just like the president and his administration,” Pratt said. “And yes, if the New York Times and the Rolling Stone, and whoever else wants to have a hissy fit, yes, our guns are in our hands for people like those in our government right now that think they wanna go tyrannical on us, we’ve got something for ‘em. That’s what it’s all about.”

“The Second Amendment,” he continued, “is not about hunting, it’s not about target shooting, it’s about Democrats who want to take our rights.”

Fredinburg, building off of the tyrannical Democrats theory, argued that “if you’re a Christian or subscribe to traditional Judeo-Christian values today, you’re considered a hate monger...if you’re a pervert, a deviant, a derelict, you know someone who’s captured by a decadent lifestyle, whatever, your rights are protected. But the good people, their rights are not being protected.”  Pratt, agreeing that the left hates guns and religion, replied, “What a rhetorical sleight of hand, isn’t it?  They say they’re for diversity, they say they’re for freedom of speech, and ‘you’re free to say anything you’d like as long as you agree with me.’ What hypocrites!”

Larry Pratt: Obama 'Has Made It Very Clear He Doesn't Like The United States'

Larry Pratt, the far-right conspiracy theorist executive director of Gun Owners of America, who will be hosting a presidential campaign call with Sen. Ted Cruz next week, claimed last month that President Obama has “made it very clear he doesn’t like the United States” and that “he thinks that Christianity is at best on par with jihad.”

Pratt told fringe conservative commentator Stuart Vener that Obama ”doesn’t like people speaking against the dirt bag Muhammad like I just did, he thinks that that is a name to be revered, he thinks that Christianity at best is on par with jihad.”

Agreeing with Vener’s claim that Obama “wants to take everyone’s guns away,” Pratt hailed former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani for “speaking the truth” when he alleged that the president doesn’t love America.

Denouncing Islam as a “extremely murderous, extremely violent” religion, Pratt praises the Europeans who finally “got themselves together” during the Crusades to get “rid of the Muslim dirt bags”.

We’d also like to note that the cohost for Vener’s show, “Stuart Vener Tells It Like It Is!,” is a genie.

Michael Savage: Obama Prepared To Ban Guns, This Time For Real

Every year, we hear from right-wing outlets some new way that President Obama is going to secretly ban guns. Such gun bans, of course, never materialize, prompting the pundit to just move on to the next conspiracy theory.

Take Michael Savage, for example. Last year, the right-wing radio talk show host claimed that Obama would “use Ebola as a pretext” to “take the guns.” Since that never happened, Savage now has a new theory for his fans: Obama will sneak a gun ban into the Trans Pacific Partnership, a controversial free trade deal, without the public ever knowing about it.

“This is a dictatorship as sure as I’m sitting here,” Savage told his listeners on Friday. “Obama’s the most dictatorial president in American history, he was never fit for office, he was voted out of office in November.”

Savage cited a memo from Gun Owners of America that was posted on the conspiracy-theory outlet InfoWars, which claimed that the TPP may include “full implementation of the anti-gun UN Arms Trade Treaty” and an “illegal amnesty which locks in millions of new, anti-gun voters.”

Savage said that while he has no idea if such language is part of the TPP, he predicted that the “sneaky socialist” Obama will make sure that the trade agreement gives him “dictatorial power over America.”

Huckabee: If Someone Breaks Into My House, 'I Call 911 To Tell Them Where To Come Pick Up The Body'

Over the weekend, Mike Huckabee was in New Hampshire to speak at the Republican Leadership Summit and while he was there, he sat down for an interview with conservative activist Kimberly Morin of the Manchester Political Buzz Examiner.

During the discussion, Huckabee shared his views on the Second Amendment by explaining that, where he comes from, the "gun nuts" are the people who support gun control and stated that if somebody broke into this house, the only reason he'd call 911 would be to tell them where to pick up the body of the intruder.

Explaining that he's owned guns since the time he was five, Huckabee said that he cringes when he hears people say that they support the Second Amendment because it protects hunting.

"The Second Amendment is not about hunting," he said, "this is about freedom. And I've heard people say 'Huckabee is one of those gun nuts.' Where I come from, a gun nut is a person who is irrationally afraid of a firearm because they don't understand the nature of having one and the importance to their liberty. I don't love guns, but I do love freedom. I love it a lot."

Huckabee went on to say that the only way to protect that freedom that he loves so much is "if we are able to outgun whoever wants to take that away from me," warning that if somebody breaks into his house, "there will be a gunfight involved in that and I plan to win."

"Yes, I will still call 911," he added, "but it's not going to be to call to helplessly wait as a victim while somebody ravages my family or my home. I call 911 to tell them where to come pick up the body of the son of a gun who broke into my house in the middle of the night":

Klingenschmitt: The Bible Opposes Gun-Free Zones

On today's "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Colordao Republican state legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt was discussing a lawsuit that has been filed against Cinemark over the mass shooting that occurred at its theater in Aurora, Colorado, in 2012 when he declared that even the Bible speaks about the dangers of establishing gun-free zones.

The solution to preventing mass shootings, Klingenschmitt said, is to let law-abiding citizens carry concealed weapons everywhere so that "nobody is a sitting duck" ... as even the Bible recognizes.

"Did you know in the Bible there were gun-free zones," Klingenschmitt asked, before citing 1 Samuel 13:19:

Now there was no blacksmith to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, "Lest the Hebrews make themselves swords or spears."

"By removing all of the blacksmiths, the Hebrews were defenseless, they were sitting ducks without swords and spears and therefore they were ruled and dominated by their evil oppressors," he said. "Are we going to let that happen here in America? That is to be determined, but I think there ought to be a law":

The Perfect Right Wing Christmas Card

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" quite like a card portraying an armed Santa Claus holding off a knife-wielding Islamic terrorist who is trying to kill baby Jesus:

An armed Santa Claus on an original Christmas card sent to recipients this year by John M. Snyder protects Baby Jesus from a masked, knife-wielding terrorist.

Santa aims a semiautomatic handgun at the terrorist near Baby Jesus in His crib. The contemporary drawing shows Santa Claus using the gun to save the Infant from the throat-cutter.

"The Christmas card reflects current reality," Snyder said. "According to numerous news reports, Islamist terrorists behead innocent victims around the world, even here in the United States. These murderers persecute Christians, especially Catholics, who worship Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

"At Christmas, we commemorate the coming of Jesus Christ as true God and true Man, the Divine Person who assumed our human nature through his mother Mary."

Snyder added that, "Santa Claus for many represents the Christmas spirit, the spirit of giving. On this message, Santa uses force of arms to rescue Baby Jesus from a terrorist, to give the Infant protection and freedom from the terrorist. Governments and other entities worthy of respect appreciate the right and ability of individuals to use firearms to protect the innocent."

Alex Jones: Fluoride And Vaccines Are Greater Threat Than Guns

On his “Infowars” radio talk show this week, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones warned his listeners that the federal government plans to disarm gun owners and militarize the police in preparation for a war against right-wing activists. Jones explained that “the government wants all the guns” even though the “few right-wing nut bags” in American kill fewer people than bees.

“Listen, the government wants all the guns, it’s illegitimate, and it says we’re bad having them,” he said. “We have a few right-wing nut bags who are gonna shoot stuff up? Yeah. They’re less dangerous than honeybees, they kill two hundred-something a year. Right-wingers kill a couple dozen. I don’t want to kill all of the honeybees because they kill people sometimes.”

He then pointed his finger at what he considered to be the true evils plaguing American society: “What’s dangerous is the pharmaceuticals, what’s dangerous is the vaccines, what’s dangerous is the high fructose corn syrup, what’s dangerous is the fluoride. That’s killing millions of people a year, it’s worse than tobacco.”

Anti-Obama Gun Activist Gets Shut Down: 'In Six Years He's Yet To Come And Get Your Guns'

Halfway through President Obama’s second term, gun lobbyists are still not backing down from their wild and incendiary claims that the president will launch a crackdown against gun owners any day now.

Gun Activists: 'Dispatch' Politicians With 'Metal Jackets'

Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America has repeatedly extolled the virtues of politicians having a “healthy fear” of being shot because such fears are a way to make sure that they “behave” and support gun rights.

GOPer Zach Dasher: Americans Need Unlimited Guns To Defend Against 'Tyrannical Government'

In an interview with the Sarah Palin enthusiasts at Mama Grizzly Radio last month, Louisiana Republican congressional candidate Zach Dasher — a nephew of "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson — repeated the view of anti-government extremists that the Second Amendment was designed to enable Americans to launch an armed insurrection against the sitting government.

“Well, you know, the Second Amendment is the one right that ensures the rest,” Dasher told host Kevin Scholla. “You take away a person’s right to defend themselves, then guess what, you can do whatever you want to them.”

“It’s important to recognize that the Second Amendment is not just the right to bear arms so we can go duck hunting or deer hunting or shoot skeet. This is a right to defend yourself, and not just against criminals but against a tyrannical government as well,” he added.

When Scholla suggested that tyranny might have arrived with the Obama administration, Dasher was less sure about the timeline, but added, “You’re right, Ronald Reagan said we’re always one generation away from tyranny. And I think it’s something that if we don’t fight for our rights, it’s a continual fight to stay free, then this will happen, you will eventually end up being taken over by a tyrant.”

Tony Perkins: Gun-Toting Texans, Not Liberal New Englanders, Will Stop The Terrorists

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said on his “Washington Watch” radio program yesterday that the U.S. government is failing to protect the southern border, enabling members of ISIS or another terrorist group to enter the country and launch a dirty bomb attack.

Since federal officials refuse to act, Perkins said, America’s last defense against ISIS may be Texas gun owners who will quash the plans of terrorists coming to America, adding that he wouldn’t rely on liberal New Englanders to protect the country.

“It’s to the nation’s benefit that Texas is on our southern border and not one of the New England states because in Texas you’ll be hard-pressed to find a household that doesn’t have a gun and an owner that knows how to use it,” he said.

“Where if they were going to invade, someone was going to move into our country and do it through the New England states, we’d all be in trouble. That’s part of the Second Amendment, it may be that even the liberals will be grateful for the Second Amendment if the government doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do and keep us safe.”

Second Amendment Radical Larry Pratt Says Gun Control Advocates Are Insane Zealots

Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America, was a guest on Gordon Klingenschmitt's "Pray In Jesus Name" program once again today where he amazingly asserted that those who push for gun control legislation are insane zealots who are fundamentally immune to facts.

As Pratt explained it, liberals are motivated entirely by "feelings" and therefore push for things like gun-free zones solely because they feel safer without guns around, failing to realized that gun-free zones are actually making them less safe because it leaves them vulnerable to mass shooting attacks.

"Their feelings are so intense that the string of mass murder after mass murder in gun-free zones just doesn't seem to shake them off that conviction," Pratt said, before asserting that conservatives, on the other hand, always ensure that their views and positions are rooted in fact and reality.

"We live in a rather ddifferent universe from those who support gun control," he said. "And just to repeat, the facts just don't seem to ever get under their skin. I guess it's the definition of a zealot that no matter how many times he fails at doing something, he knows that if he does it one more time the same way, he's going to succeed. That's otherwise knows as the definition of a crazy person."

Then, without a hint of irony, Pratt immediately followed up that statement by declaring that it is the mission of his organization to completely eliminate all gun control laws.

"We want to see gun control legislation taken off the books," he said. "We think 'shall not be infringed' means shall not be infringed, period! No other discussion is permitted by that language":

Pratt: Democrats Push Gun Control Because 'They're Afraid Of Getting Shot And They Ought To Be!'

Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America, recently appeared on Gordon Klingenschmitt's "Pray In Jesus Name" program where he declared that Democratic lawmakers are rightly afraid of being shot by gun owners because "that’s what the Second Amendment is all about."

Klingenschmitt asked Pratt why wealthy activists like Bill Gates and Michael Bloomberg are willing to spend large amounts of money in supporting gun control measures when, according to Klingenschmitt, doing so only hurts Democrats at the polls.

Pratt said that Democrats in general support gun control because they are socialist "control freaks" who know that if they are ever going to be able to control every aspect of the lives of America citizens, they first need to take away all of their guns.

And those guns first need to be taken away, Pratt said, because Democrats are fully aware that their efforts to exert total control will result in them getting shot.

"They clearly want to exercise power that, in their judgment, would cause enough push-back to stop them from doing what they're doing," Pratt said. "And I just said in a nice way that they're afraid of getting shot and they ought to be! That's what the Second Amendment is all about. They ought to be afraid of an armed people so that they don't get into a situation where they would actually provoke violence":

This is not the first time Pratt has expressed the sentiment. This summer, he earned a rebuke from the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords — a Democratic lawmaker was shot in an assassination attempt — for saying that the fear of assassination was "a healthy fear" for members of Congress to have.

Tony Perkins Praises Strict Gun Laws … In Israel

There is a trend among Religious Right activists to cheer on Israel’s policies towards the Palestinian territories while conveniently ignoring other Israeli programs, such as government subsidies for abortion coverage.

But on his radio show “Washington Watch” yesterday, the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins went all in to praise an Israeli domestic policy that is at odds with what American conservatives are pushing at home, hailing Israeli gun laws and saying that Israeli cities are much safer than their American counterparts.

Does this mean that Perkins, of all people, is now a supporter of Israel’s very strict gun laws? Or does he just not understand what he’s talking about?

Back in 2012, the Washington Post attempted to clear up American conservatives’ “long-held misunderstanding of Israeli gun laws.”

The only problem is that Israel actually has quite strong gun restrictions and very low gun ownership rates, some of the lowest in the developed world. This confusion has gotten so bad that even Israeli government officials are now chiming in to knock back the claims, though the NRA is seen as a close ally of the U.S. Republican party, which positions itself as strongly backing Israel.

Israeli guns laws, it turns out, are much stricter than America's gun laws. This may help explain why Israeli gun ownership is just one thirteenth of what it is in the U.S. To bring that number into focus, it would likely be even lower if not for mandatory military service, which means Israelis are more likely to be familiar with guns. Israel's unique security challenges and its periodic bouts with terrorism would also seem to bolster an NRA-style case for allowing more privately owned guns so that more citizens can defend themselves. And yet, there are far fewer guns in private citizens' hands, and far less gun crime.

Rafael Cruz Predicts Obama Will Seize Guns Just As Stalin Did Before Killing Millions

Rafael Cruz, the father of Ted Cruz and a close adviser to the Texas senator, told the radio show “Faith & Liberty” on Tuesday that President Obama is committed to emulating Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong in seizing firearms in order to use them against the American people.

Cruz, who regularly preaches Christian Nationalist pseudo-history, said that Obama has a “worldview based upon a totalitarian view of government being all powerful,” and is bent on “destroying the exceptionalism of America” by ratifying the Law of the Seas Treaty.

After host Dave Garrison asked if “President Obama wants to take our guns as part of this worldview,” Cruz responded: “Well, of course, you have got to realize that is all about control. You look at history, Stalin took out the guns, then killed twenty million people; Mao took out the guns, then killed fifty million people. Every society where government has taken the guns away from the population, then they’ve used them against the population.”

He later said that Obama will “absolutely” be seen as the worst president ever in U.S. history.

Family Research Council Spokesman Links Isla Vista Shooting Spree To Gay Marriage

Family Research Council senior fellow Ken Blackwell yesterday linked the Isla Vista mass killings to marriage equality laws, which he claimed are destroying the culture. Speaking with FRC president Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch,” Blackwell blamed the shooting on “the crumbling of the moral foundation of the country” and “the attack on natural marriage and the family.”

“When these fundamental institutions are attacked and destroyed and weakened and abandoned, you get what we are now seeing,” Blackwell said, arguing that people who are “blaming the Second Amendment” are “avoiding talking about what is at the root cause of the problem.”

Blackwell has previously described marriage equality advocates as “opponents of natural marriage.”

Joe The Plumber: 'Your Dead Kids Don’t Trump My Constitutional Rights'

As we noted last week, Matt Barber's new BarbWire website has quickly become a blogging goldmine for us, as its mission seems to be to collect crazy pieces from all over the internet and publish them all in one place, such as this open letter written by Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (aka Joe The Plumber) to the families of those who were killed during Friday night's shooting spree in Isla Vista, California to inform them that while he is "sorry you lost your child ... your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights" to own as many guns as he wants, especially because of the actions of one insane "Obama voter":

I am sorry you lost your child. I myself have a son and daughter and the one thing I never want to go through, is what you are going through now. But:

As harsh as this sounds – your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights.

Richard Martinez, whose son (Christopher) was among the murdered, choked back tears at a news conference, blaming politicians the next day: “The talk about gun rights. What about Chris’ right to live?” Martinez said – and much more.

There are no critical words for a grieving father. He can say whatever he wants and blame whoever he’d like – it’s okay by me. You can’t take a step in his shoes – at least I can’t.

But the words and images of Mr. Martinez blaming “the proliferation of guns”, lobbyists, politicians, etc.; will be exploited by gun-grab extremists as are all tragedies involving gun violence and the mentally ill by the anti-Second Amendment Left.

As a father, husband and a man, it is my responsibility to protect my family. I will stand up for that right vehemently. Please believe me, as a father I share your grief and I will pray for you and your family, as I do whenever I hear about senseless tragedies such as this.

We still have the Right to Bear Arms and I intend to continue to speak out for that right, and against those who would restrict it – even in the face of this horrible incident by this sad and insane individual. I almost said “Obama Voter” but I’m waiting for it to be official.

I noticed the mainstream media have stopped the practice of immediately reporting the psycho maniac is a conservative Tea Party Republican Christian. Guess they’re sick of having to hide being wrong every time when it comes out the whacko votes Democrat?

Mr. Martinez and anyone calling for more restrictions on American’s rights need to back off and stop playing into the hands of the folks who merely capitalize on these horrific events for their own political ends.

They don’t care about your family or  your dead children at all. They sound like they do, whereas I sound uncaring and like I say, harsh. Don’t be fooled – I care about your family and mine. The future of our very liberty lies in the balance of this fight.

In conclusion, I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are going through, having had your child taken away from you. However, any feelings you have toward my rights being taken away from me, lose those.

Klingenschmitt: The Bible Says 'All The Citizens Ought To Be Armed So They Can Defend Themselves Against Left Wing Crazies'

On his "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Gordon Klingenschmitt discussed the recent shooting at a Fed Ex facility in Georgia, which he attributed to the fact that the facility was a gun-free zone, which is prohibited by the Bible.

Klingenschmitt declared that the reason that Japan never invaded the United States is because "Californians carried guns" and warned that now the state "might be vulnerable to that" because the citizens are being disarmed.

"There is a demonic spirit of murder and suicide and abuse" behind gun control efforts, Klingenschmitt said, citing the Book of Judges to proclaim that "the Bible talks against disarming the citizens [and] says all the citizens ought to be armed so they can defend themselves against left wing crazies who go in there to try and assault God's people":
