Bill Johnson of the American Decency Association apparently was surprised by the pushback his group received after the ADA attacked Magic Johnson for showing support for his openly gay son, and the watchdog group is, naturally, blaming the media.
“We once were a people largely united under what was right and what was wrong,” but then, Johnson claims, “Network television began to shove homosexuality down our throats.”
Johnson concludes that “America is deserving of God’s wrath” as a result of the media’s alleged promotion of gay people’s... MORE

To say that Bryan Fischer is furious about his failed appearance on CNN earlier this week where anchor Carol Costello threw him off the program would be a bit of an understatement, as yesterday he went off on an epic rant against the "gay gestapo," saying that Costello's refusal to allow him to spew his bigotry unchallenged on national television is exactly what "the gay gestapo looks like in action."
Fischer made multiple references to the "gay gestapo," proclaiming that "the stormtroopers of the homosexual movement" and "the Nazis... MORE

Yesterday, the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life released the results of a survey finding that "the number of Americans who do not identify with any religion continues to grow at a rapid pace. One-fifth of the U.S. public – and a third of adults under 30 – are religiously unaffiliated today."
Those findings were quite alarming to CNBC's Larry Kudlow, who brought Ralph Reed on to his program yesterday to reassure him that the numbers were not really as bad as they looked. After Reed speculated that the rise in young people claiming no religious affiliation... MORE

On yesterday’s edition of The Janet Mefferd Show, the host and her guest, Matt Philbin of the Media Research Center, took aim at an unlikely vector of liberal ideals: the world of sports. Reflecting on an MRC report, Mefferd said that ESPN and other sports broadcasters are “using their sports platforms really to push this liberal economic and social ideology.” Philbin asserted ESPN hires people with a “liberal pedigree” and its website includes content that is in “support of the gay agenda.”
Philbin held up liberal commentator Keith Olbermann, who... MORE

On Sunday morning, ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” gave right-wing shock pundit Ann Coulter a national platform to opine on national politics and promote herself and her books. “This Week” is generally a serious and reasonable look back on the week’s political events. Coulter, however, is neither serious nor reasonable – not even close.
Coulter, a self-described “mean-spirited, bigoted conservative,” goes out of her way to provoke and offend and even promote violence. Based on her own words, she’s a strident racist... MORE

The Religious Right’s go-to movie review group, Movieguide, is not happy with The Hunger Games. Movieguide, a website dedicated to offering “in-depth analyses of current movies from a biblical perspective,” is also politically active. At May Day 2010, for instance, its president Ted Baehr urged conservative Christians to take the societal “mountain of arts and entertainment” and insisted that in order to reverse the “homosexualization of the culture,” politicians who support marriage equality should be tried and punished.
In its review of The Hunger... MORE

After complaining that gay rights advocates were trying to censor him, Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality now wants MTV to cancel an upcoming show with Dan Savage, SavageU, because he is a “a radical and raunchy homosexual activist” who is enganged on an “evil crusade” against Rick Santorum:
"There are two main reasons why MTV and its parent company Viacom should cancel Dan Savage's new show about sex on college campuses.
"Number One: Dan Savage is a radical and raunchy homosexual activist who gives unhealthy and reckless sex... MORE
