Eagle Forum: Immigration Bill Will Destroy Two-Party System, Turn America Into Detroit

On the July 13 Eagle Forum Live program, Phyllis Schlafly’s daughter Anne Cori spoke with conservative activist former New York Lieutenant Governor Betsy McCaughey about the Senate’s bipartisan immigration bill, which Schlafly claims McCaughey is “only one known to have actually read.”

Discussing a provision of the bill (page 384 of this pdf) that would provide grants to organizations helping new immigrants through the citizenship process and with English and civics lessons, Cori claimed the real purpose of these grants would be to register new citizens “as Democratic voters.” McCaughey agreed, saying that the real goal is “tilting the scales permanently against a fair two-party system.”

“The Tea Party’s not getting any of this money,” she said.

Through the immigration bill, McCaughey added, the Obama administration is emulating the ward bosses of Tammany Hall, only “nationalizing this kind of political corruption.”

McCaughey: Under this law-- under this bill, excuse me – community activists are the ones who are going to be paid by the federal government, our taxpayer dollars, they are going to be paid to walk the immigrants through the amnesty process, collect their documents, apply for waivers, gather their families together, educate them on the principles of American citizenship, walk them all the way through the various stages of this process. And that’s really a method of pouring huge amounts of money, taxpayer money, into groups that are always affiliated with the Democratic Party.

Cori: I’m sure one of the things they’ll do as they hold their hand is register them as Democratic voters.

McCaughey: Exactly. This is tilting the scales permanently against a fair two-party system.

McCaughey: Providing permanent funding to the community organizations that are allies of only one party. The Tea Party’s not getting any of this money!

Cori: Well, do you think the IRS is going to look into these Democratic organizations?

McCaughey: No, not at all. But you know what it reminds me of? Way back in the 1930s and ‘40s and ‘50s, we had James Curley in Boston, we had Tammany Hall, these local ward bosses, and poor people and newcomers would go to these ward bosses and get whatever they needed – a job, health care, food – in exchange for their vote. Well, now the Obama administration is nationalizing this kind of political corruption. They are creating a permanent infrastructure dedicated to making the Democratic Party the majority party, and it’s all in this immigration bill.

Later in the program, Cori speculated that the immigration bill – which the Congressional Budget Office has found would dramatically reduce the deficit – could in fact “make the United States just Detroit on a large scale, in terms of bankruptcy.”

McCaughey: We certainly shouldn’t rush through a comprehensive bill. You know, the nation is facing a $17 trillion debt, and the debt ceiling is coming up. End of the fiscal year, September 30, the nation runs out of money. And we really have to pay, John Boehner said, the number one issue is to get government spending under control. And this is not the time to rush through an immigration bill that could cost the nation trillions of dollars, and there’s no accurate assessment even of what it would cost.

Cori: Well, it could make the United States just Detroit on a large scale, in terms of bankruptcy.

Heritage Spokeswoman Wishes 'Somebody Actually Had an Answer' On What To Do About Undocumented Immigrants

The Heritage Foundation has been trying to position itself at the center of the opposition to the Senate’s bipartisan immigration proposal, an effort that got off to a rocky start when the group issued a deeply flawed report on immigration reform’s costs that was co-written by an enthusiastic racist.

Like most opponents of meaningful immigration reform, Heritage opposes creating a roadmap to citizenship for the undocumented immigrants who are currently living and working in the United States. But, like its allies in the GOP, the group doesn’t really have an idea of how else to respond to the undocumented population. In an interview with the Latino news site Voxxi last week, Heritage policy analyst Jessica Zuckerman admitted that the group doesn’t have any suggested plan when it comes to undocumented immigrants. “That is the big question,” she said, “and I wish somebody actually had an answer on that.”

What should be done with undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States?

That is the big question, and I wish somebody actually had an answer on that, which is why I say this dialogue we are having on immigration reform is important so that we keep discussing this and trying to reach an answer that folks agree on. We haven’t gotten there yet, but it’s important that we’re having this conversation to get to that point.

King: Attacks On Me Are A Sign That Civilization Will Not Survive

Congressman Steve King continues his tour of defiance, refusing to apologize or backtrack in any way for the comments he made earlier this week when he claimed that the vast majority of undocumented immigrants are "130-pound" drug runners with "calves the size of cantaloupes."

As part of this ongoing effort, King showed up on Bryan Fischer's radio program today where he vowed that he will never apologize "for telling the American people the truth."

King defended himself by saying he had made this same point several times in the past, but is only being attacked for it now by people who "have an amnesty agenda that they want to drive through the House of Representatives," adding that any civilization in which government leaders would attack and marginalize someone like him for speaking the truth "will not be able to sustain itself in the long run":

Feder: Latinos Like 'Pagan Armies' of the Bible, 'Yearning to Breathe Free Stuff'

Count Don Feder out of the growing movement of evangelicals who are championing immigration reform. The World Congress of Families spokesman writes today that undocumented immigrants shouldn’t be treated with compassion, but instead like violent pagan forces: “The illegal immigrants swarming over our southern border are more akin to the pagan armies which regularly invaded the land of Israel and were repulsed by military force. The Bible is a guide for living, not a suicide pact.”

“Securing our borders with an amnesty is like promoting chastity with condoms,” Feder continues. “Political compassion has resulted in most of the horrors of modernity,” such as communism and “the destruction of the black family.”

He warns that an immigration reform law “will end up electing a lot of pro-abortion, anti-marriage leftists” as “illegals will elect a host of welfare-state Democrats.” “This is a constituency that yearns to breathe free stuff,” he writes.

Feder even makes the false claim that immigrants tend to be criminals: “Apparently, murder, rape and vehicular homicide are jobs Americans won't do.”

Securing our borders with an amnesty is like promoting chastity with condoms. In 1986, we amnestied 2.7 million to fix our "broken immigration system." Now we have at least 11.1 million. In the mid-1980s, they were coming at a rate of 500,000 a year. Now we're getting a million annually. If this amnesty passes, how many will we be dealing with in another 20 years?

"Appropriate penalties" and earned citizenship are a smoke screen. The penalties assessed will never be collected. (It's in the left's interest to remove any impediments to citizenship/voting.) Citizenship won't be earned. (How, by memorizing the Gettysburg Address?) It will be bestowed.

The alien or foreigner did not receive permission to live in the land. The illegal immigrants swarming over our southern border are more akin to the pagan armies which regularly invaded the land of Israel and were repulsed by military force. The Bible is a guide for living, not a suicide pact.

Based on his misreading of Scriptures, Rev. [Samuel] Rodriguez calls for compassion toward "the least among us," which apparently does not include the citizens preyed on by criminal aliens, or the unskilled worker who loses his job because he can't compete with cheap labor imported from Tijuana.

Compassion and politics are a volatile mix. In the guise of fighting poverty, 1960s Great Society programs destroyed the black family and gave us an 80% out-of-wedlock birth rate in the inner city.

Currently, anti-family ideologues are playing the compassion card against those of us who resist the deconstruction of marriage. In his majority opinion overruling DOMA, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy said defenders of the natural family are telling gays that their unions are inferior to ours. No wonder homosexuals think Republicans are mean.

This is a constituency that yearns to breathe free stuff. An April 2012 Pew Hispanic Center poll showed a staggering 75% want more government services, compared to 41% of the general public. Among the public at large, 45% want smaller government, against 19% of Hispanics.

Ultimately, it's all academic. Hispanics don't vote on social issues. Only one House member whose district borders Mexico voted against Obamacare. In pursuit of government deluxe, newly enfranchised illegals will elect a host of welfare-state Democrats, who will vote predictably on abortion, marriage and judicial nominations. In the name of caring for the least-among-us, evangelicals will end up electing a lot of pro-abortion, anti-marriage leftists.

The strangers among us include a quarter of all inmates in the federal prison system. With another 297,000 in state prisons and jails, they comprise 16.4% of the country's total prison population. Apparently, murder, rape and vehicular homicide are jobs Americans won't do.

Political compassion has resulted in most of the horrors of modernity – from the French Revolution (liberty, equality and fraternity aren't bad things) to communism (to each according to his need), to the destruction of the black family (in the name of a war on poverty) to the war on the family (in the name of equality).

What the left never learned some on the right are quickly forgetting.

Steve King Attacks Critics' 'Unrestrained, Undisciplined, Divisive Remarks,' Says They're Dooming Nation to Failure

Rep. Steve King has taken plenty of heat from both the left and the right over the past few days for his assertion that for every valedictorian DREAMer there are “another hundred” who “weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’ve been hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.”

Faced with criticism from House Speaker John Boehner and other fellow Republicans, King has refused to back down, saying “it’s not something that I’m making up,” and that his comments were “objective” and “might be the best informed in the entire U.S. Congress.” He wrapped up his case on the House floor yesterday, declaring that his critics would cause the downfall of the United States and of Western Civilization.

In an interview with Iowa talk radio host Simon Conway on Wednesday, King offered a similar tirade, accusing his critics of making “unrestrained, undisciplined, divisive remarks” and warning that if his opponents are allowed to have their way “this nation will eventually fail because we’ll completely lose our objectivity and we’ll be driven by our emotions instead of our reason.”

If we can’t discuss objective truth among people that are elected representatives in the United States Congress, if it has to turn personal, if they have to make these kind of remarks, these unrestrained, undisciplined, divisive remarks, at first I’d say, how  could they have listened to the tape that you’ve run and come to such a conclusion? But second is, if there’s no objective discussion, if we can’t bring up the other side of the coin, then this nation will eventually fail because we’ll completely lose our objectivity and we’ll be driven by our emotions instead of our reason.

ALIPAC: Immigrant '3rd World Invaders' Will Create 'One Party System'

The anti-immigrant group that has floated a military coup and “illegal and violent” actions to overthrow President Obama is now warning that immigration reform will “turn America into a one party system.” Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) alleges that the “nation destroying amnesty plan” will give Democrats power for “hundreds of years” as a result of “this injection of new entitlement voters.”

“Millions of 3rd world invaders,” ALIPAC claims, will gain power over “the Americans who founded this nation and who have sustained it with blood, sweat, and taxes for 200 years.”

We have been working hard to explain to politically suicidal Republicans eager to lead their party and our nation to doom with amnesty for illegal aliens that 20 million illegal alien voters will turn America into a one party system. Perhaps some of these Republicans like McCain, Rubio, Flake, Graham, Boehner, Cantor, and Ryan plan to just join this one party system. Or even worse, perhaps we are already governed by that one party system!

But today, we have the proof we need to turn more than 90% of Republicans and real Conservatives so firmly against the Obama backed nation destroying amnesty plan in the US House!

A new poll by the Pew Research Center shows that the new voting bloc of illegal aliens created by the Senate's S. 744 and new legislation being planned in the House will vote Democrat 8 to 1. This injection of new entitlement voters behind Democrats will assure the Democrats control Congress, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and the Presidency for decades if not hundreds of years into the future.

In fact, within 10 years of implementation of Amnesty, Republicans will be unlikely to control many state legislatures as well. All true Americans of every race and party will be playing defense forevermore if this amnesty passes!

If you are most like the Americans who founded this nation and who have sustained it with blood, sweat, and taxes for 200 years, then you will no longer be the driving force in American politics! While Democrats will enjoy initial gains, even liberals will quickly learn they have very little in common with the millions of 3rd world invaders streaming in from now on.

The organization’s leader, William Gheen, called for “an unprecedented political uprising” to stop Republican leaders who “will stick their daggers in the heart of the GOP.”

ALIPAC is warning all Americans that the new voting bloc of more than 20 million illegal aliens will vote against the interests of current Americans although Democrats will receive an initial boost from amnesty. ALIPAC is also warning Republicans that GOP Lawmakers such as Speaker John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, and Bob Goodlatte (VA-6) are in secret negotiations with Obama's faction to force Amnesty through the US House in 2013!

"John Boehner and Cantor will stick their daggers in the heart of the GOP in the very final moments under this plan by discarding the Hastert Rule and leading a few dozen GOP lawmakers to vote with most Democrats to send the Amnesty bill to Obama's desk!" said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Only an unprecedented political uprising of Americans in the last of 2013 has any hope of disrupting this nation destroying amnesty plot!"

ALIPAC hopes to Defeat Amnesty in 2013 and then lead the resulting backlash into the 2014 elections where many illegal immigration supporting lawmakers can be removed from office by the off year elections, which have elected many base conservatives before like in 2010 and 1994!

Steve King Rests His Case: 'I Challenge This Civilization To Be Reasonable!'

Iowa Republican Steve King, who was roundly condemned for his recent comments alleging that most young undocumented immigrants are drug smugglers, took to the House Floor today to allege that his freedom of speech is under attack. In a rambling address that touched on everything from the Korean War to the George Zimmerman trial to ancient Greece, King warned that the US is on the brink of losing the freedoms of speech and assembly. The congressmen argued that people don’t agree with him because they simply aren’t being reasonable, since after all he is advocating “the most logical and rational policy” on immigration.

“I think we need a policy that’s right… for America,” King declared. “I challenge this civilization to be reasonable!”

Later, King outlined what exactly that policy looks like. “We need to build a fence, a wall and another fence,” he continued, “we need to put the sensory devices on top of there.”

Then, still defending his remarks painting the vast majority of undocumented youth as drug mules, he declared that he is being unfairly judged by others and therefore America is doomed to decline: “No nation like the United States of America can continue to grow and be a strong nation if we are going to judge people because they disagree with our agenda rather than the content of their statement.”

VDARE: Latinos Will Back Anti-Immigrant GOP Because They Want to Be White

Steve Sailer, the extremist columnist for the White Nationalist group VDARE, for years has been urging the GOP to give up on outreach to people of color and instead focus on their white supporters. Sailer’s strategy has since been embraced by the likes of Pat BuchananBryan Fischer and Phyllis Schlafly, including her group Eagle Forum.

Sailer writes that eventually, becoming the “White Party” will help Republicans gain support among Latinos and Asians who would rather join the White-GOP than the Democratic “Black Party.”

Just like Rep. Louie Gohmert , Sailer claims that the key to winning Hispanic support is opposing immigration reform.

“If Americans whites started treating themselves with self-respect (e.g., don’t roll over for illegal aliens with fifth-grade educations), the Latinos would more or less fall in line as they tried to be white in an American where whiteness is no longer demonized,” Sailer explains. “Hispanic and Asian voters should be encouraged to understand the central American political reality: they only get to choose between being the junior partners in the White Party or junior partners in the Black Party.”

If Americans whites started treating themselves with self-respect (e.g., don’t roll over for illegal aliens with fifth-grade educations), the Latinos would more or less fall in line as they tried to be white in an American where whiteness is no longer demonized.

Sean Trende told Brookings that the GOP might get up to 20 percent of the black vote someday. To me, that seems both implausible and unwise. The natural sweep of American politics is from blacks on the Left to, say, Mormons on the conservative side. In 2012, for instance, Romney got 3 percent of the black vote and 86 percent of the Mormon vote. (Of course, that gap was exaggerated by the identities of the two candidates last November, but it’s still characteristic).

Instead, my suggestion: rather than devote immense effort to pursuing a tiny number of persuadable black voters, Republicans would be smarter to concede that the Democrats are the natural home of blacks … and that blacks, as historic Americans, deserve to have a major party defer to them!

Indeed, just as Republicans are constantly demonized as the “White Party,” they should praise the Democrats for being the natural "Black Party"—the rightful vehicle for African American political aspirations, since blacks are the moral core of the Democrats.

Hispanic and Asian voters should be encouraged to understand the central American political reality: they only get to choose between being the junior partners in the White Party or junior partners in the Black Party.

When that reality is made clear, white Democratic grandees like Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer might be very surprised by what happens to their Rainbow Coalition.

Steve King: Undocumented Immigrants Mostly '130-Pound' Drug Runners With 'Calves the Size of Cantaloupes'

Rep. Steve King of Iowa is getting some publicity this week for an interview on Univision in which he refused to apologize for comparing immigrants to dogs. Our friends at the Center for New Community point out that just a few days earlier, King gave an interview to Newsmax in which he claimed that the vast majority of undocumented immigrants are “130-pound” drug runners with “calves the size of cantaloupes.”

“For every one who’s a valedictorian, there’s another hundred out there who they weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’ve been hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert,” King said.

He challenged proponents of the bipartisan immigration law to “define the difference between the innocent ones who have deep ties with America and those who have, I’ll say, been undermining our culture and civilization and profiting from criminal acts.”

Anti-Immigrant Rally Speaker: Immigration Reform is 'Treason,' 'Slavery 2.0'

Speaking alongside senators Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions and Rep. Steve King at this week’s anti-immigrant "DC March for Jobs" was a cast of lesser-known Tea Party characters, including Ken Crow, who gave a memorable speech on Bill Pullman, the Alamo, and stallion breeding, and Internet radio personality Kevin Jackson, who told the crowd that immigration reform would amount to “treason” and “slavery 2.0.” and is merely “a clever way to keep black people corralled in these urban indoctrination centers they call cities.”

Jackson -- who has previously claimed that President Obama “has taken American back into the 1960’s except now whites are enslaved to blacks,” and that “women on the Left secretly wish to build a society of powerful ugly women” – alleged that undocumented immigrants are “mostly criminals” and “undocumented freeloaders.”

“It’s Jim Crow laws being touted as immigration reform, and immigration reform is just a euphemism for treason,” he said.

Tea Party Leader Compares Immigration to the Alamo, Alien Invasion in Independence Day

The Nation’s George Zernick was at Monday’s anti-immigrant rally organized by the nativist front group Black American Leadership Alliance, and managed to catch a video of Tea Party Community co-founder Ken Crow praising Americans’ “incredible DNA” and insisting, “You cannot breed Secretariat to a donkey and expect to win the Kentucky Derby.”

Today, the Center for Immigration Studies posted a full video of Crow’s speech, and it turns out that the Secretariat/donkey analogy was just the beginning of his racist talking points. After fretting about the impact of immigrants on American “bloodlines,” Crow points to Arlington National Cemetery and says, “You’ve got the breeding, you’ve got the DNA, you’ve got the patriotism and you’ve got the sacrifice. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to give my country up to a bunch of people who do not deserve to be here.”

He then goes on to compare immigrants to invading space aliens, quoting from Bill Pullman’s famous speech in the movie Independence Day, and to equate anti-immigrant Tea Party activists to Texan forces at the Alamo.

The Ten Best Signs and Outfits from the 'DC March for Jobs'

Hundreds of anti-immigrant activists marched from Freedom Plaza to the Capitol yesterday as part of the “DC March for Jobs.” The rally, sponsored by the Black American Leadership Alliance (BALA), was organized as a protest against immigration reform legislation.

Below are images of some of the most expressive signs and the best dressed demonstrators from the rally.

Gohmert: Stopping Immigration Reform Will Make Hispanics Realize 'These Republicans Really Like Me'

Along with Michele Bachmann, Louie Gohmert recently sat down with WND to make the Tea Party case against any sort of immigration reform legislation.  And while Bachmann warned that passage of any legislation would spell the end for the Republican Party in Congress, Gohmert predicted that not passing reform legislation would help the GOP in the long run by demonstrating to Hispanic voters that the party really cares about them.

Claiming that just as Black voters are embracing the Republican Party, Gohmert said that Hispanic voters will do likewise once they understand that the GOP wants them to learn to speak English and assimilate so that they don't have to work as ditch diggers.

"In the long term," Gohmert said, "I think you will see people start waking up and go 'wow, I'm Hispanic and these Republicans really like me ... wow, this Republican really does want me to do well. That's the party I ought to be in!":

Bachmann: Congress Needs To 'Spank The President' And Take Away His Magic Wand

Reps. Michele Bachmann, Steve King, and Louie Gohmert continue their crusade to prevent the passage of any immigration reform legislation by mobilizing the readers of WorldNetDaily with a new article today featuring interviews with each one of them.

In making her case against immigration reform, Bachmann warned that Republicans will lose control of the House of Representatives if any legislation passes because President Obama will "wave his magic wand before 2014" and declare that all immigrants have the right to vote, just as he supposedly did in 2012 when he supposedly declared that anyone here under the age of 30 was allowed to vote which, of course, happened only in Bachmann's fevered imagination.

Claiming that she is "not crying wolf here," Bachmann went on to say that Congress need to give Obama a spanking and take that magic wand out of his hands:

Black American Leadership Alliance Anti-Immigrant Rally Keeps on Adding Fringe Activists…and Senators

On Monday, a brand new group called the Black American Leadership Alliance (BALA) will be holding a march on the National Mall in opposition to a new immigration policy. Michelle Cottle at the Daily Beast today explains that BALA, far from being the grassroots group it claims to be, consists of “a dozen or so…seasoned activists who have long been conducting this same anti-immigration crusade by means of an evolving series of similar groups.” Last month, when BALA first emerged, we profiled some of its leaders and their deep connections to the anti-immigrant network stemming from white nationalist John Tanton.

As Cottle puts it: “As a result of the many links between BALA’s leaders and the Tanton network, hate-group watchdogs have expressed concern that the organization is merely the latest in a series of minority front groups providing anti-immigration extremists cover from charges of racism.” We wrote about the anti-immigrant movement’s persistent but largely unsuccessful attempts to drive a wedge between black and Latino communities in this 2011 report.

Unsurpisingly, anti-immigrant congressional leaders are jumping to associate themselves with BALA and take part in its rally. The speakers list so far includes Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Iowa Rep. Steve King, former Rep. Allen West, and, somewhat ironically, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions.

Also speaking at the event are some lesser-known African-American conservative activists, including Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, who has said he thanks God for slavery, accused the NAACP of being “no different than the KKK” and frequently claims that President Obama is “racist” against white people. Joining him on the podium will be  radio host Kevin Jackson, who claims that feminists are waging “a war against beautiful women” and that President Obama “has taken America back into the 1960’s except now whites are enslaved to blacks.”

And we just noticed the addition of another fringe speaker to the list: Florida pastor O’Neal Dozier. Dozier made national headlines last year when, while serving as state chairman of Rick Santorum’s presidential campaign, he announced that Mitt Romney’s Mormonism would “taint the Republican Party.” A profile of Dozier by Mother Jones’ Adam Weinstein highlights some of the pastor’s worst anti-gay, anti-Islam rhetoric, dominionist rhetoric, which ultimately caused him to lose favor with the state's Republican establishment:

As Republicans courted him, Dozier continued to express some of his most extreme views. At a Reclaiming America convention in 2003, Dozier declared that "We should take control of every facet of society." He added that God was "100 percent for capital punishment. Oh, yeah, God knew some were going to slip through, a few innocent ones. He knew that. But you cannot have a society without capital punishment."

He reserved his greatest fervor for that "paramount of sins," homosexuality—which he declared was "something so nasty and disgusting that it makes God want to vomit."

In 2006, he declared war on a local Islamic group trying to build a mosque in the neighborhood. "One day," he intoned, "our grandchildren will live under the grips of sharia law. It's coming our way. Islam has a plan, a 20-year plan, to take over America from within. And they're doing it." The feds charged a charity that Dozier and local Republican activists had supported with swindling $3 million from Haitian immigrants. And Dozier started asking Florida judicial nominees if they were "God-fearing" and in favor of anti-sodomy laws. The GOP establishment began to sour on Dozier. By the summer of 2006, Crist and Jeb Bush had both dumped him.

Gaffney: Immigration Reform a Communist Plot to Destroy GOP, Help Terrorists

In his “Secure Freedom Minute” today, Frank Gaffney ominously warns that immigration reform legislation will “determine the fate of the [Republican] party and our Republic.” He alleges that if the bill becomes law it will “prove a magnet for more illegal aliens and more amnesties in the future” and even “permit terrorists now here to put on the so-called path to citizenship.”

Gaffney argues that immigration reform is a “product of decades of work by communists determined to consign the GOP to permanent minority status incapable of halting the further radical transformation of America.” He cites a piece by Trevor Loudon, who claims that several California politicians are tied to a “secret communist” immigration activist and the Democratic Socialists of America.

VDARE: South Should Secede (Again) If Immigration Reform Passes

Noting that Southern lawmakers have traditionally supported punitive and restrictive immigration policies, William Houston of the white nationalist group VDARE thinks it might be time for the South to once again mount a rebellion if Congress approves immigration reform. Houston believes that Southern opposition to new immigration laws, along with marriage equality, affirmative action, Obamacare, environmental protection and gun violence prevention legislation, are reason enough for the states to secede from the US and refuse to “continue to carry the rest of America on its back.”

How long can Dixie continue to carry the rest of America on its back? In the U.S. Senate, the Northeastern states voted 21 to 1 in favor of "comprehensive immigration reform." In 2010, every single representative from New England voted for the DREAM Act. And in 1965, every single representative in the House from the Northeast voted for the Immigration Act of 1965, and only one senator from the Northeast voted against it.

If history is our guide, Southern Republicans in the House will again probably succeed in killing "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" this time around.

But what about next time? How long can we expect this charade to continue? For almost fifty years now, Dixie has voted for border security and against Third World immigration. But, because of the existence of the Union with the Northeast, West Coast, and Upper Midwest, we have gotten illegal alien amnesty, Open Borders, and Third World immigration—among a laundry list of other undesirable things that could never pass an all-Southern Congress.

Polls have already showed that, for example, 26% of Georgians and 42% of Georgia Republicans were prepared to support secession after President Obama’s re-election. GA Republicans split on secession, Deal vulnerable, Public Policy Polling, December 07, 2012. As Southerners consider Harold Meyerson's implacably hostile words, and as they react to the recent Supreme Court rulings on gay marriage and Affirmative Action, the recent Senate votes on illegal alien amnesty and gun control, and the upcoming debate on "climate change" legislation and the imminent implementation of Obamacare, millions of them have already no doubt begun—in the phrase widely used in the ante-bellum period—to "calculate the value of the Union."

Buchanan: Immigration Reform Will Cause US to Break Up Like Soviet Union

Pat Buchanan continues to go all-out in his opposition to new bipartisan immigration policy, claiming in a recent interview with conservative radio host Andrea Tantaros that immigration reform will cause the United States to break apart like the Soviet Union.

The Daily Caller posts a clip of Buchanan warning that if “you put 100 million Hispanic folks in the United States,” the southwest will become “as much a part of Mexico as it is of the United States.”

“If they have a different language, different culture, different faith, basically you get two peoples and two peoples eventually become two countries,” he said.

Buchanan went on to offer an alternate history of the United States, which he said became “one nation back around 1960, when all the immigrants who had come from eastern and southern Europe 1890-1920 had been assimilated and Americanized” through the Depression, World War II and television programming. “That brought us all together, and now we’re falling apart,” he said.

What you get is a growing disintegration of the country, a fragmentation into different parts. And we see this happening all over the world in the last few decades, where ethnic groups and linguistic minorities, ethnic minorities, cultural minorities, given the pressures of ethno-nationalism, are breaking up countries all over the world. It’s happening all over the Middle East; it happened in the Balkans, where Yugoslavia broke up into seven countries; the Soviet Union broke up into 15 countries.

You put 100 million Hispanic folks in the United States, and say 70 million of them on the southwest border, that becomes as much a part of Mexico as it is of the United States. If they have a different language, different culture, different faith, basically you get two peoples and two peoples eventually become two countries.

This is what I see as the future of America is the balkanization and disintegration of the country that had become one nation back around 1960, when all the immigrants who had come from eastern and southern Europe 1890-1920 had been assimilated and Americanized. We’d all gone through the Depression together, heard radio together, went through World War II together, and American television together. That brought us all together, and now we’re falling apart.

Rand Paul: 'Fire the CBO' For Finding that Immigration Reform Reduces the Deficit

Sen. Rand Paul says he neither believes nor understands the Congressional Budget Office report which found that the Senate immigration bill would reduce the deficit, mostly through the new revenues that come with an expansion of the tax base.

The Kentucky Republican told conservative talk show host Lars Larson that he doesn’t comprehend the CBO analysts’ math… and therefore they should be fired.

He said that “we ought to fire the CBO” and “go ahead and just get it done” without paying attention to their fancy, elitist math.

Paul: The bill is going to cost $6.5 billion. How do you spend $6.5 billion and it saves money?

Larson: I don’t know. I asked a Senator about that and said, what’s the logic that the CBO uses that this will cut the deficit? He said that in the CBO’s report it doesn’t actually explain the mechanism. Is it that they think that more illegals made legal will pay taxes, or that their costs will be lower in American society or they won’t use as much welfare? Do you have any idea what they mean by ‘this will cut the deficit’?

Paul: No, but I don’t believe it. It’s sort of like, they tell me they’re going to give everybody free health care in the country and that’s supposed to cut the deficit too.

Larson: Well that was a lie that a lot of Americans bought not once but twice, didn’t they?

Paul: Yeah I’m not sure anybody believes that stuff anymore. It’s partly why we ought to fire the CBO and just sort of tell people what we want to do and let’s go ahead and just get it done.

Fischer to Immigration Opponents: 'Get Busy' and Procreate

Today on Focal Point, Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association warned that the White House, Senate and Supreme Court are controlled by “lawless, immoral and godless” people and that America’s last hope lies with “conservatives in the House of Representatives; they are the last link between the American people and any shred of constitutional form of government.”

However, Fischer says if the House approves immigration reform, then “that thread is going to snap and we will be plunging at warp speed into the abyss.”

But Fischer said that America could stave off the need for more immigrants if Americans would “get busy” and have more kids: “The whole argument for immigration is, ‘We got to get workers.’ Why? Because native-born Americans simply are not reproducing at rates fast enough to increase the population. So we know what we need to do. Let’s get busy.”

Conservative pundit Pat Buchanan today praised a successful anti-immigration referendum in Switzerland as a boon for the larger “patriotic, populist and nationalist right.” He hailed “patriot parties” such as the National Front of France, Freedom Party of the Netherlands, Northern League of Italy and Flemish Interest (Vlaams Belang) of Belgium as models for right-wing activists in the US. So what drives the far-right parties that Buchanan sees as inspirations? The National Front’s founder is a Holocaust denier and its top leaders have compared Muslim... MORE

Eagle Forum’s Phyllis Schlafly released a report earlier this month that summarizes her argument that Republicans shouldn’t support immigration reform because she thinks Latino and Asian-American immigrants are inherently Democratic-leaning. Schlafly elaborated on the report in an interview Friday with Dove TV, claiming that immigrants will always vote Democratic because they “don’t even know what you’re talking about when you talk about limited government.” “These immigrants, legal and illegal, coming in don’t really understand our country and... On Secure Freedom Radio yesterday, Frank Gaffney invited Phyllis Schlafly to discuss her new Eagle Forum report making the case that Republicans should oppose immigration reform because immigrants will always vote Democratic. Schlafly repeated her usual talking points that people from other countries don’t “understand the concept of limited government” so expanding legal immigration would be “suicide for the conservative movement and the Republican party.” Gaffney agreed, adding that if immigration reform “dooms” the Republican Party it also “... Ann Coulter, who recently lamented the end of the racist immigration quota system, writes today that America soon "won't exist anymore" due to "the current rate of immigration." According to Coulter, immigration is destroying the GOP and thus America itself, because apparently only "real Americans" vote Republican. She's particularly offended that immigration means she has to "hear about soccer all the time." "We’re living in a different country now, and I can’t recall moving!," she writes. Coulter also lashes out at... MORE

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), which tries to style itself as the moderate think tank of the anti-immigrant movement, has undermined this image by embracing the theory, first put forward by a white nationalist thinker , that the Republican Party shouldn’t bother trying to win back Latino voters and should instead focus exclusively on turning out white voters. Not only is this strategy doomed to failure, its implicit assumption is that Republicans should turn out white voters by stirring up racial resentment against Latinos. This has emerged as a popular message among... MORE

Center for Immigration Studies director Mark Krikorian tries to come across as a more reasonable voice in the movement against immigration reform, but today Krikiorian undermined this well-crafted image when he cited the work of a prominent white nationalist. In his latest column for the National Review Online, Krikorian responds to a New York Times report this weekend that President Obama’s DACA order has created a backlog of immediate family members of U.S. citizens who are now separated from their families as they wait an unconscionably long time for visas. Krikorian, of course, sees... MORE

As we mentioned earlier, anti-immigrant activist William Gheen appeared on VCY America last week to denounce immigrants as cancerous tumors that need to be locked away in prisons. But the Nativist leader of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) didn’t stop there. He went on to say that immigration reform represents a “national rape.” Gheen warned that a reform law would give voting rights to well over “20 million illegal immigrants voting in elections, backed up by the next 10-20 million that are going to pour through our ripped-open borders right after that,...
