Sandy Rios Suggests Treating Refugee Kids Like Lepers, Warns They Will Cause Death 'In Huge Numbers'

On her American Family Radio program this morning, Sandy Rios joined fellow anti-immigrant activists in spreading overblown fears about diseases being carried by the Central American refugees at the southern border.

Rios suggested that the child refugees should be quarantined like lepers used to be. “I think of biblical times, the lepers were separated — right or wrong — they were separated,” she said. "It was understood that leprosy was so contagious. So there’s nothing wrong with wanting to separate your children. We used to quarantine people when they had diseases.”

“We’re such a healthy people that we’ve forgotten what it’s like to be diseased and die from those diseases in huge numbers,” she said, “but we’re going to learn, I think, again.”

She went on to lament that the children are being transported in the “same planes that you and I fly in.”

“How do we know about lice and disease before they get on public transportation?” she added.

Rep. Stockman: 'There Are More People Coming Across The Border Than We Sent In Invasion Of France'

Calling the influx of Central American child refugees at the southern border an “invasion of our nation,” Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) told WorldNetDaily yesterday that “there are more people coming across the border than those we sent in invasion of France” in World War II.

“There are more people coming across the border than invaded France in World War II,” he said. “That is an invasion of our nation.”

Stockman denied that the situation was a refugee crisis because “there are many U.S. cities that have a higher murder rate than Guatemala.”

Janet Mefferd: Border Crisis, Voting Rights All Part Of Effort To 'Collapse The System'

On her radio show yesterday, Janet Mefferd read extensively from a recent article on the conservative site Western Journalism, which argues that the crisis of refugee children on the border and the landmark “Motor Voter” law are both parts of a concerted liberal plot to “collapse the system” in America.

“Is this what’s going on?” Mefferd asked. “Of course this is what’s going on. This is what they wanted.”

Joe Miller: Refugee Crisis, Single Motherhood Will Lead To 'Deconstruction Of The Country'

In an interview with Steve Deace last week, Alaska Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller said that “our national integrity is at stake” from the influx of Central American child refugees at the southern border and claimed that President Obama is intentionally exacerbating the crisis in an effort “to act contrary to the interests of this country.”

“This is something that does put the very survival of this country at stake,” he added.

Miller went on to discuss the rate of single motherhood, which he said we “can’t survive” as “a nation, a culture.”

“If we don’t have a return to our foundational values, the result of this is going to be the deconstruction of the country,” he said.

Tom Tancredo: Border Crisis 'Absolutely Part Of' Obama's Plan To 'Transform America'

Former Colorado Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo, said Wednesday that the crisis of Central American refugees at the southern border is “all part of a plan” by President Obama to “fundamentally transform America.”

Speaking with Newsmax host Steve Malzberg, Tancredo said that the president should simply ignore the Bush-era child-trafficking law that is complicating attempts to deal with child refugees.

But, citing a quote from the president that is frequently distorted and taken out of context by the Right, Tancredo said that Obama will keep all of the immigrants in the country as part of his plan to “fundamentally transform America.”

“This is all part of a plan,” he said. “And you know how this sounds, I know how people immediately go, ‘Oh, there’s a conspiracy theorist out there.’ Now, look. It’s not a conspiracy if he tells the world what he wants. If Obama says on numerous occasions, ‘I intend to fundamentally transform’ and then he begins doing it, it’s not a conspiracy. This is absolutely part of that."

Murrieta Protestor Calls Police 'Domestic Terrorists' For Protecting Bus Of 'Infected Immigrants'

The effort to block busses of Central American refugees travelling through Murrieta, California, over the July 4th weekend drew any number of fringe right-wing extremists, including radio host Pete Santilli, who offered a 24/7 live webcast of his stay.

In one webcast posted on July 4, Santilli approached a number of local police officers demanded that they bring him the county sheriff. He also told them that he had called 911 but that that strategy had also failed to summon the sheriff. (Many militia groups maintain that the sheriff is the only legitimate law enforcement officer).

“I almost died at Bundy ranch because the sheriff didn’t show up,” Santilli told one officer, referring to his time at the Bundy ranch in Nevada, where he spent time harassing a Mexican-American reporter.

Santilli told one Murrieta police officer that he was “here for a peaceful protest” but that by failing to put him in contact with the sheriff “what you guys are creating is a violent one.”

“Are you guys domestic terrorists now?” he yelled after the officer walked away. “You guys are terrorizing the public.”

“They’re going to deliver a bus here with a bunch of anarchists and create a volatile situation on the 4th of July. That’s an incitement,” he yelled.

At one point, Santilli got his hands on a bullhorn and earned a cheer from the crowd when he told the officers, “You want to send a bus to us right in front of the media so Obama can publicly display what happens to people who stop busses with infected immigrants. Obama wants to send a message and you’re helping to facilitate it.”

William Gheen: Immigration Reform Rooted In 'Anti-Christ Culture'

Mashable’s Gina Piccalo writes today about the split among evangelical conservatives on the issue of immigration reform. While some evangelical activists have cited biblical values to support comprehensive immigration reform, others — such as Phyllis SchlaflyDavid Barton and Bryan Fischer — are busily trawling through the Bible for passages to justify their opposition.

Piccalo interviews Americans for Legal Immigration’s William Gheen, who it turns out also takes a Christian nationalist view of his opposition to immigration reform. Gheen conveniently escapes any theological difficulty when it comes to dealing with the thousands of Central American child refugees on the southern border by claiming that the violence they are escaping is a hoax:

"Illegal immigration is the antithesis of Christianity,” says William Gheen, Raleigh, N.C.-based president of Americans For Legal Immigration. “It’s a gross mischaracterization of Christianity to apply it to tolerating the mass lawlessness, death and damages involved in illegal immigration.”

When asked about those children crossing the border in search of refuge from gang-related violence and death, Americans for Legal Immigration president Gheen said immigrant children are coached by money-hungry smugglers who give them “cheat sheets” with fabricated stories of woe, crafted to ensure their amnesty. “There’s no mass slaughter of children in any of the host countries,” Gheen said. “There’s no documentation of any mass slaughter...The children are reciting lines. This is being orchestrated.”

Gheen sounded the same note in an interview Tuesday with VCY America, linking immigration reform proponents with the “anti-Christ culture flooding up through the united states in our movies, in the TV shows, in the minds of people where they hate Duck Dynasty or anything associated with Christians.”

He said that immigrants’ rights groups are anti-Christian because “they don’t like laws, they don’t like borders”: “They like to equate Christians with Nazis and Klansmen and all sorts of stuff like that because Christians try to show any type of restraint on behavior. And they don’t want any restraint on any behaviors, whether it’s criminal or not. They don’t like laws, they don’t like borders. It’s anything goes, people do whatever they want.”

William Gheen Warns China Will 'Pull An Abraham Lincoln,' Recruit Undocumented Immigrants To Attack US From Within In

In an interview with Jim Schneider of VCY America on Tuesday, anti-immigrant activist William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC claimed that in the event of a U.S.- China war over the Taiwan Strait, China will recruit undocumented immigrants to fight the U.S. from within and will then give them American land, a move he compared to Abraham Lincoln giving land to former slaves after recruiting blacks to fight in the Civil War.

“Once again, with China, the Pentagon has reports from war colleges saying, ‘We’ve got large groups of people’  — and they won’t say who they are, but they’re talking about the 20-plus million illegal immigrants — they’re like, ‘We’ve got large groups of people that might not be fond of the Constitution that could be called upon by a foreign power in case of conflict,” Gheen said.

“What they’re talking about is, let’s say that the United States and China end up having to go to war tomorrow over the Taiwan Strait. Well, all the sudden, China pulls an Abraham Lincoln on us and says, ‘Hey, illegals, we’ll give you the whole place, just punch America in the gut for us.’ And America won’t be able to sustain our fleet. America can be taken out by a sneak attack from within.”

Gheen shared this theory at the end of a long rant in response to Schneider asking him if ISIS is trying to exploit the refugee crisis on the southern border to sneak terrorist sleeper cells into the United States.

Gheen replied that terrorist cells were already in the country in the form of Muslim-Americans colluding with Mexican drug cartels to send “precious and strategic metals” to China and get “everybody’s kids and grandkids” “hooked on cocaine and methamphetamine" and then snort their inheritances "all right up their nose and out of the country into Mexico and the on to Saudi Arabia."

“All of that destruction, the deconstruction of the United States, the planned demolition of the United States is all taking place, it’s a plan,” he said. “If you’re a terrorist, you really wouldn’t want to do anything to mess that up. If you’re a sleeper cell, you don’t want to go blow up the town hall and get the locals all upset because right now you’re bringing in more and more of your people and taking over whole communities and neighborhoods and building a mosque on every block.”

Earlier in the interview, Gheen claimed that President Obama is “sponsoring and facilitating” an immigrant “invasion” so “what he sees as evil Whitey can’t ever do anything to come back from it.”

The president, he added “may have our full destruction in mind.”

Steve King Calls For The National Guard To Seal The Border Before America Is Overrun By Billions Of Undocumented Immigrants

Appearing on Steve Malzberg's Newsmax radio program yesterday, Rep. Steve King called upon the governors of the states along the southern border to call out their national guard units and seal the border because otherwise America will be overrun with billions of undocumented immigrants by the time President Obama leaves office.

Saying that since Obama has the resources necessary to close the border but is refusing to do so, King therefore urged border governors to call up their National Guard units and do it themselves because soon "it won't be any longer a question of whether we can deport eleven million people; it will be tens of millions more and the question will be how many billion people can we let into the United States?"

"And I say that term 'billion,' I didn't just pull it out of the air," King made clear, "there's seven billion people on the planet and over half of them would like to be in America":

Bryan Fischer: 'Our Southern Border Is There By God's Design'

In response to the influx of Central American children fleeing to the southern border of the U.S., the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer is repeating his belief that all national borders were determined by God and therefore anybody who crosses them without permission is directly offending the Creator.

In a column for BarbWire today, Fischer writes, "What we learn from the Bible is that borders are God’s idea, and that such borders are to be respected. They are not to be crossed without permission.”

As a result, he writes, “[o]ur southern border is there by God’s design” and those who “regard it as something not worth respecting and defending” are insulting God.

He gives himself an out by adding an exception to biblical national borders in the case of “a just war.”

What we learn from the Bible is that borders are God’s idea, and that such borders are to be respected. They are not to be crossed without permission.

Crossing a border without permission is like breaking in the back door of a house to help yourself to goodies instead of being invited in by the host through the front door. You might get to eat either way, in the same house and from the same cupboard, but in one case you would be doing something respectful and civil and in the other doing something that rightly should land you in jail.

The Scriptures make it clear that national sovereignty, including clearly defined borders, is God’s idea. In Acts 17:26, we read, “And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place…” (Emphasis mine throughout.)

Two things, we are told, are under God’s sovereign control: how long a nation lasts, and where its borders are. The verb translated “having determined” is the Greek verb “horizo,” from which we get the word “horizon.” It means “to mark out, to define.” So God has marked out and defined the borders of each country.

Our southern border is there by God’s design. To disregard it, to treat it as if were not there, to regard it as something not worth respecting and defending, is an insult to the God who put it there for our benefit.

The lesson? Each nation’s sovereignty is marked by its boundary, and each nation has the moral right to decide who will be given permission to enter its sovereign territory. Moses recognized this, and so should we. The only exception is under circumstances of a just war.

Bottom line: borders are biblical, and are there by God’s sovereign design. And they are to be respected by everyone.

Frank Gaffney Demands Obama Cut Foreign Aid To Central America As A Way To Curb Immigration

Conservative pundit Frank Gaffney has a great idea to dissuade young migrants from escaping violence and economic hardship in countries like El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras: cut off their foreign aid!

In today’s “Secure Freedom Minute,” Gaffney says the Obama administration should declare that such countries “are not eligible for our foreign aid” until the immigrant “invasion” ends.

We can’t see how that could possibly go wrong.

Barack Obama visits Texas today, but not its border areas. He’s not interested in evidence that his policies have encouraged an ongoing invasion by tens of thousands of illegal child and other aliens. The President just wants Congress to give him nearly $4 billion to “manage” the resulting crisis. Unfortunately, he would spend much of it in ways that will encourage more such invaders to come here. For example, lots of this emergency funding would go to provide housing, food, transportation and lawyers for the illegal aliens. These would be inducements for further invasion. Congress should just say “No” to such spending and ensure that the countries enabling the invasion – namely, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico – are not eligible for our foreign aid until they stop it, and repatriate the invaders.

Louie Gohmert Says Latinos Will Vote Republican Because They Believe In God

Rep. Louie Gohmert seems to be convinced that a spike in border crossings by unaccompanied minors is part of a sinister plot to push non-citizen children to commit voter fraud to help elect Democratic candidates.

In an interview yesterday with News Talk Florida host Dan Maduri, after suggesting President Obama invade Mexico, Gohmert once again laid out his new conspiracy theory, suggesting that undocumented immigrants unlawfully voted for Obama in the 2012 election in return for welfare benefits.

However, the Texas Republican then said that Latinos will begin voting for Republicans because the GOP is the party for those who believe in God: “Now over time I think they will eventually realize that those in favor of hard work, faith in God and belief in democracy will eventually start voting Republican, but in the meantime I’m not sure there’s a country left by the time they realize that.”

He also told Maduri that Obama broke his oath of office over immigration policy.

William Gheen Denies Calling For 'Illegal And Violent' Action Against Obama

For some mysterious reason, the Los Angeles Times has decided that William Gheen of the fringe anti-immigrant group Americans for Immigration Reform is a credible source for immigration policy stories, and last week invited him to participate in a live debate on the issue with two immigration reform advocates.

To her credit, Times report Ann Simmons confronted Gheen with the transcript of a 2011 radio interview — first reported by Right Wing Watch — in which he implied that “illegal and violent” tactics might be needed to stop President Obama’s war on “White America.” (Simmons mistakenly said that Gheen made the comments on the previous day.)

After hearing his comments read back to him, Gheen denied ever calling for violence because he is dedicated to “peaceful, civil-rights-type efforts," and said that because of his dedication to peaceful “civil rights” work, he wouldn’t discuss “those other things that are out there being discussed because of the dictates of Obama.”

He did, however, note that the president has “nullified the Constitution, nullified existing federal law, and nullified the outcomes of our elections.”

Louie Gohmert Suggests Obama 'Do What Woodrow Wilson Did' And Send Troops To Mexico

Rep. Louie Gohmert is pretty sure that President Obama is pushing for minors to cross the border as part of a giant voter fraud scheme, and thinks that if the president were serious about cracking down on illegal immigration, then he would send troops to the Southern border … and perhaps into Mexico.

“If he wanted to, he could do what Woodrow Wilson did,” the Texas congressman told News Talk Florida host Dan Maduri, referring to Wilson’s military intervention in Mexico.

“He sent John Pershing with troops into Mexico and you can read different versions, tens of thousands of national guard were put on the border and nobody came in that we didn’t want to come in. This president could do that just as well.”

Gohmert added that the Southern border is now “wide open for drugs” and suggested that the child migrants may include radical Islamist terrorists.

Madison Project: 'Illegal Invasion,' 'Anti-Family Agenda' Make Conservatives 'Strangers In Our Own Country'

The Madison Project, the Tea Party group backed by Sen. Ted Cruz that’s pushing far-right challengers in Republican congressional races, marked the Fourth of July this year by lamenting that the “illegal invasion,” the “anti-family agenda,” Social Security, and the rest of the social safety net make them “feel like strangers in our own country.”

Sadly, many of us are spending this 4th of July wondering if our Founders would recognize that republic – that beacon of freedom built upon a strong civil society and ordered liberty. So many ordinary Americans feel our republic is long lost to a foreign socialist utopia centrally managed by an elitist oligarchy in the form of two corrupt political parties.

This small minority of radicals has completely vitiated our most fundamental characteristic as a republic – our sovereign borders. We are now languishing from the flood of over 100,000 illegal immigrants teaming over our southern border, adding to the millions of illegals already here. At stake is nothing less than the preservation of our civil society, sovereignty, and solvency as a nation and as a stable economy. They drain our resources, health care, education, and criminal justice system.

We feel like strangers in our own country.

Even without the illegal invasion, our republic is hanging on by a thread.

Almost every American is involuntarily subservient to the federal government for his or her retirement security and healthcare. Over 46 million people, and one-in-four children, rely upon government for food stamps. Under the new Obamacare mandates, an estimated 79 million Americans will be enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP. This culture of dependency, an anathema to our spirit of independence, has saddled us with over $1 million in debt and unfunded obligations for every American taxpayer.

Meanwhile, ordered liberty in a constitutional republic needs a strong civil society and strong families in order to thrive, much like fish in water. Yet, the cultural degeneration, promulgated and encouraged by this small societal elite, has permeated every aspect of American life – to the extent that those of us who adhere to traditional family values are now ostracized and castigated. We have reached the point where we need a group of unelected judges to grant us small morsels of religious liberty from their high benches in Washington. The small minority who push this invidious anti-family agenda now seek to eradicate the very existence of gender to the degree that private individuals and businesses are now being forces to accommodate bizarre and licentious practices.

The “Republican” Party was supposed to serve as the bulwark against attempts to supplant our republican form of government, yet they have become part and parcel of the problem. Decades’ worth of treachery directed towards the party faithful from its leadership has finally culminated with the Mississippi election last week. A long-serving Republican, with the blessing of the entire party establishment, engaged in fraud and race-baiting to repudiate his own party base and steal the election.

We are now living through the worst consequences of elective despotism that James Madison warned about in Federalist 48. Indeed we are strangers in our own country and in our own party.

Louie Gohmert: Obama Is Bringing In Central American Immigrants To Vote Illegally For Democrats

Speaking with Newsmax host Steve Malzberg yesterday about the influx of Central American children and families at the Southern border, Rep. Louie Gohmert implied that President Obama was orchestrating the crisis in order to recruit millions of people to cast fraudulent ballots for Democrats and seize Texas from Republican control.

“In the end, they have said that they want to turn Texas blue, they want to turn America blue,” he said. “And if you bring in hundreds of thousands or millions of people and give them the ability to vote and tell them — as Quico Canseco said, he had illegals in his district that were told, ‘If you want to keep getting the benefits, you have to vote, and President Obama’s lawyers are not going to allow them to ask for an ID, so go vote or you’re going to lose the benefits you’re getting now.’ That drives people to vote and it will ensure that Republicans don’t ever get elected again.”

The Texas Republican also told Malzberg that the Central American refugees, combined with the end of the gold standard during the Nixon administration, will bankrupt the country.

Cliven Bundy Defends Border Militias, Tells Feds to Point Guns At 'Enemy' Immigrants

If the anti-immigrant protests in Murietta, California, and the gathering of militia groups at the border remind you of the anti-government standoff at Cliven Bundy’s ranch, that might be because the events are attracting some of the very same people.

Far-right radio host Pete Santilli, who we last saw harassing a Mexican-American reporter at Bundy’s ranch, has been broadcasting from Murietta for the past week or so and has mentioned that he has also driven down to join some groups along the Southern border, who he has been working with in an effort to shut down the Tijuana border crossing.

In fact, yesterday, Santilli interviewed Bundy himself about the similarities between the Bundy ranch standoff and the events in Murietta and at the border.

Calling the Bureau of Land Management “dirty rotten buggers,” Bundy told Santilli that the groups who faced off with the BLM at his ranch were “successful in bringing back freedom to America, at least in this area.”

Speaking of the militia groups gathering at the Southern border — including groups like the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters, who were strongly represented at his ranch — Bundy said that like at his ranch, federal agents are “pointing their guns at we the people” and not at the “enemy,” who he said is the “encroacher that’s illegally coming in here.”

Louis Gohmert's Budget Plan: Defund Anything That Obama 'Cares Deeply About'

In an interview with WorldNetDaily this weekend, Rep. Louis Gohmert of Texas said that congressional Republicans should respond to President Obama’s threat of an executive order on immigration by “defunding anything” that the president “care[s] deeply about that’s not important to the American people” along with any agency that Gohmert thinks is breaking the law, including the White House itself.

Well, the Founders gave us the power of the purse. It’s going to take a lot of courage to stand up to the president and say, ‘We’re going to start defunding anything that you care deeply about that’s not important to the American people.’ We’re going to start defunding the Attorney General’s office. We’ve got a bill that would actually, and we’ve been pushing to get this into an appropriations package, it says anybody that’s in contempt of Congress can’t be paid their salary. We need to do that, we need to start eliminating money for any agency, including the White House, that is not following the law. And then you get their attention. That’s what the Founders anticipated.

And I know our speaker says, ‘Oh, gee, but we’re only one half of of one third.’ But we’re the most important half of the appropriations process, so if we don’t agree to an appropriation, it doesn’t happen. It’s time we took a stronger stand in that regard.

He also repeated his warning that the influx of Central American families and children at the border is turning the U.S. into a “third world country.” Speaking of efforts to transport children to facilites around the country, he said, "That's already the beginning of what you see in third world countries."

William Gheen Claims His 'Underwear Against Amnesty' Campaign Sunk Immigration Reform

Last week, anti-immigrant activist William Gheen urged members of his Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) to mail used underwear to House Speaker John Boehner and President Obama to be given to undocumented immigrants.

Now, Gheen is claiming that his “underwear against amnesty” protest so overwhelmed Boehner and Obama with underwear that, within 48 hours, it single-handedly sunk any hope for immigration reform.

Gheen writes in an email this morning:

Our 'underwear against amnesty' campaign became an internet and talk radio sensation, penetrated the American psyche, raised awareness rapidly of how John Boehner is the same as Obama on amnesty for illegals, and shut down John Boehner for 2014 within 48 hours of our launch!

We stopped John Boehner and now we need to stop Obama and his new illegal alien surge!

John Boehner went into full retreat because of our protest and because our assistance helping Dave Brat defeat Eric Cantor sent shock waves through the Republicans working to help Obama pass amnesty.

Obama did not get his amnesty bill so we have forced his hand to show what a dictator he really is. Obama is now proceeding to implement amnesty legislation that never passed Congress!

Gheen previously claimed that a photo he posted on Facebook that was shared 15 times stopped another effort at reform.

Minuteman Project Child Migrants Are 'Human Shields' In Effort To Turn US Into 'Latin American Nation'

Jim Gilchrist, the founder of the anti-immigrant militia group the Minuteman Project, claimed last month that child refugees at the southern border are being used as “human shields” in a “concerted effort” to eliminate immigration enforcement, warning that the United States is “becoming a Latin American nation.”

Gilchrist made the comments an interview with One America News Network’s Graham Ledger on June 19.

Dan Stein, president of the misleadingly named anti-immigrant group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), told a radio host in Florida last week that only anti-immigrant activists like himself could save America from Iraq-like collapse. “After we saw Iraq fall apart, a lot of us are wondering, are we going to see the same post-Obama disaster from, what, eight years of his decimating our immigration control apparatus” Stein asked host Joyce Kaufman on Tuesday. Later in the interview, Kaufman lamented that too many news hosts are afraid of being “called a bigot,... MORE

Conservative talk show host Michael Savage said yesterday that Congress should impeach President Obama over his handling of unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border, saying that the president wants America to be “invaded by Third Worlders who are diseased.” Savage said Obama is deliberately “dumping these children” in the U.S. so they can bring exotic diseases that will “wipe out” Americans. As we have noted, there is absolutely no evidence of a connection between the Central American children and an outbreak of a respiratory illness in the... MORE

In an interview with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg yesterday, Jim Gilchrist of the anti-immigrant vigilante group the Minuteman Project, lamented that he is unable to take up arms against a “tyrannical” U.S. government that will use both legal and illegal immigration to impose Chinese-style “one-party communism.” “This is a politically inspired ploy by the Democratic Party that has been going on for decades to lure as many people from all around the world — it doesn’t matter if they’re here legally or illegally — lure them in,” he... In an appearance on the radio show “Point of View” last week, Rep. The right-wing media is so eager to find evidence that Central American child migrants are bringing diseases into the U.S. that they have now found an outbreak to blame on the kids. The only problem? There is absolutely no evidence of a connection. WorldNetDaily breathlessly reports today on speculation by right-wing radio host Michael Savage that an increase in patients with a severe respiratory illness in two hospitals in Kansas City and Chicago is linked to Central American children: On his show, Savage also excoriated the government agency, stating, “The CDC is claiming they don...
