A few weeks ago, vandals threw bricks through the windows of the site hosting an Americans For Truth About Homosexuality banquet demanding that the anti-gay event be shut down. Ever since, AFTAH's Peter LaBarbera and Liberty Counsel's Matt Barber have been running around screaming "hate crime" and telling the story to anyone who will listen.
So it was no surprise to see that it was also the topic of discussion on Liberty Counsel's "Faith and Freedom" program today, though it was a surprise to see Barber start asserting that not only were windows broken at the event... MORE

It is not every day that you hear a conservative commentator go off on an extended rant about how the war in Iraq was a colossal waste and total failure, but that is exactly what Bryan Fischer did today on his radio program.
According to Fischer, there is one, and only one, metric by which the success of the war can be judged and that was whether or not the US left behind a nation which protected religious liberty for Christians. And based on that one measurement, Fischer declared the Iraq war to be a monumental failure for which the US has absolutely nothing to show.

Taking a break from her usual diatribes against gays and lesbians, who she doesn’t even believe exist, Mission America’s Linda Harvey dedicated her radio show today to attacking Halloween. Harvey warned that Halloween represents “rebellious flirtation with fallen angels and deceptive spirits” and warned that children will be exposed to the holiday’s demonic spirituality and “dark elements.” Harvey argued that it is not “loyal to Jesus to participate in the event” and concluded that “it isn’t appropriate for the bride of Christ... Back in 2009, when Congress was working on legislation to expand hate crimes laws to include protections for sexual orientation, the Religious Right pitched a fit and mobilized to try and stop it.
They failed, but Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel was among the leaders of the movement, going so far as to not only oppose adding sexual orientation to the law but calling for all hate crimes laws to be repealed:
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle — in Washington and around the country — should not only reject S. 909, but should also begin working toward repeal of all state and... MORE

Peter LaBarbera says the vandalism of the site hosting his conference qualifies as a hate crime.
And, of course, Bryan Fischer seconds that view.
The Associated Press takes a look at The New Apostolic Reformation.
Robert Jeffress will be a featured speaker at the 2nd Annual Reclaiming Texas for Christ Conference.
Finally, Al Mohler says Christians cannot attend gay weddings: "[A]ny Christian who knows that same-sex marriage violates God’s Law and purpose for marriage knows — and cannot act as if he or she does... MORE

Earlier this month, Brian noted that Sarah Palin was scheduled to speak at an Extraordinary Women Conference held at Liberty University.
This weekend, Palin is scheduled to speak at another one of these conferences, which is being held in Tupelo, Mississippi ... and she has reportedly decided to speak at this event because of its proximity to the American Family Association:
Former Alaska governor and conservative Republican star Sarah Palin will anchor a lineup of female Christian speakers who will give their testimonies this weekend in Tupelo.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee... MORE

After the tragic shooting of Lawrence ‘Larry’ King, the openly gay California student who was shot dead by a classmate in school three years ago, Religious Right activists pounced to defame King and gay rights advocates. Randy Thomasson of Save California blamed “social engineering” and said that King’s sexual orientation and gender expression and the shooting represented the “two wrongs” in the case. Anti-gay author Michael Brown said “gay activism” was responsible for the murder. The trial of King’s shooter ended in a hung jury and... MORE
