Ex-gay activist Christopher Doyle talked to Sandy Rios of the American Family Association this week where he made the outlandish claim that if ex-gay counseling is restricted, then youth who have been sexually abused will never report the harm done to them and “more Jerry Sanduskys will get off scot-free.”
Doyle works for the International Healing Foundation, the “therapy” organization led by Richard Cohen (yes, that Richard Cohen), and is now promoting a group called the Citizens Against The Jerry Sandusky Victimization Act with fellow ex-gay Greg Quinlan.
He told... MORE

Channeling Pat Robertson, Americans For Truth About Homosexuality’s Peter LaBarbera said that it is an “insult to God” to argue that gays and lesbians have an innate sexual orientation when God can change “murderers” along with “the most vile criminals, rapists, alcoholics [and] drunks.”
LaBarbera appeared Friday on The Janet Mefferd Show to criticize John Paulk, the onetime poster boy of the ex-gay movement who recently left the movement. He was appalled by Paulk’s claim that “you can be homosexual and still faithful to God” and... MORE

Today on the 700 Club, Pat Robertson insisted that gays and lesbians can “change their sexual preference” just like murders, rapists and thieves can change themselves. He later warned that the U.S. is on the verge of adopting hate speech laws.
Robertson, who has repeatedly promoted ex-gay therapy, said that just as gay people can change their orientation, “a murderer can change, a rapist can change, a thief can change.” Robertson was reacting to a case in Ecuador, where a politician was found to have violated his country’s electoral code’s prohibition on... Jerry Newcombe of Truth In Action Ministries is upset that ex-gay leader John Paulk has renounced the movement and announced that his marriage to his wife is ending. While Newcombe didn’t explicitly name Paulk, the former poster boy of the ex-gay movement made news recently for recanting his past activism.
Newcombe said that Paulk is like an “ex-ex-smoker” who “for whatever reason, they lit up again, and they no longer try to fight these urges,” adding that the rejection of the ex-gay movement is nothing short of “blasphemy.”
Well, it’s... MORE

Staver Warns of Back-Alley Ex-Gay Therapy; Huckabee Wonders About Gay People Deciding To Be Straight
SUBMITTED BY: Brian Tashman, Thursday 04/18/2013, 4:00pm
Liberty Counsel head Mat Staver has been spearheading efforts to strike down a California law barring ex-gay therapy for minors. Today, he chatted with Mike Huckabee about Liberty Counsel’s case before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Staver warned that if the law stands, minors will be forced to turn to harmful, back-alley ex-gay therapy rather than to “licensed professionals.” Huckabee compared this to having an untrained person trying to set a broken leg.
Of course, Staver and Huckabee both support personhood laws that would criminalize abortion in all cases and... MORE

Ex-gay activist Joe Dallas appeared on The Steve Deace Show this week to discuss the growing acceptance of same-sex relationships and warned that gays and lesbians will “bring the judgment of God” on America. Dallas, who recently wrote a book condemning homosexuality with actress Anne Heche’s mother Nancy Heche, warned that the gay rights movement will bring society “one more step down the ladder towards a much lower standard of human behavior” and leave people in a “dismal” state.
Deace: Where does this end ultimately? What happens to the... MORE
