While the Family Research Council tries to paint itself as one of the Religious Right’s more mainstream and respectable lobbying organizations, its extreme rhetoric continues to gain exposure. Just yesterday, for instance, FRC president Tony Perkins called the anti-suicide It Gets Better Project “immoral” and “disgusting” in a fundraising letter.
Now, Perkins is calling advocates of church-state separation “cultural terrorists.” Yesterday during Today’s Issues with American Family Association president Tim Wildmon on the AFA’s American... MORE

Wendy Wright may be out of a job at Concerned Women for America. Once President and CEO of the powerful Religious Right organization, she appears to have been eclipsed by the new CEO Penny Young Nance. Now, Wright has been completely removed from CWA’s leadership page and her bio was taken down (you can still see her cached page). CitizenLink, the policy and advocacy arm of Focus on the Family, is calling on members to put pressure on the House GOP to implement their far-right goals. Despite the initial claims of House Republican leaders that they would concentrate their work on economic issues, the GOP leadership has embraced a litany of anti-choice bills along with legislation that aims to block the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and revoke marriage equality in Washington DC.
The group is now demanding Republicans pass harsh anti-choice bills that would cripple women’s health services, and also... MORE

The Bryan Fischer primary continues.
Last week, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty sat down with Bryan Fischer, one of the Religious Right's biggest bigots, and pledged that he would reinstate Don't Ask, Don't Tell if elected president.
Yesterday, Herman Cain, who also hosts a radio program for AFA, appeared on Fischer's radio program and likewise pledged to reinstate DADT, while also saying he would appoint only judges who share his Christian belief that life begins as conception, would de-fund Planned Parenthood, and veto the Employment Non-Discrimination Act:

Last year, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli joined dozens of Religious Right leaders for an event called "Awakening 2010," organized by the Freedom Federation and hosted at Liberty University, where Cindy Jacobs declared that "the Bible is the government of the people, by the people, for the people," while Matt Barber and Andrea Lafferty claimed that passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act would allow those working at the Veteran's Administration to freely molest disable veterans.
In April, the Freedom Federation will host its second annual "... MORE
