Michele Bachmann describes herself as a "Teavangelical." Shocking, I know. Richard Land says the repeal of DADT is a "disgrace." Everybody loves Ralph Reed. A new book calls the prosperity gospel a "pagan teaching with a Christian face." Finally, Frank Turek explains that Christians don't want theocracy ... they just want their Christian morality enshrined into law. MORE

Last night Rachel Maddow discussed Cindy Jacobs’s prophetic word that while the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell triggered mass bird deaths, Rick Perry’s The Response prayer rally literally healed the land of Texas from the curse of Native American cannibals. Jacobs was an official endorser of The Response and her protégé Pam Olsen now co-chairs Perry’s Presidency 5 leadership team in Florida. As Maddow points out, the severe drought in Texas has only intensified since Rick Perry called for statewide prayer for rain and organized The Response.... MORE

Sam Brownback endorsed Rick Perry. You will be forgiven for not knowing that Thad McCotter was running for president ... or that he dropped out and endorsed Mitt Romney. John Eastman is now NOM's Chairman, replacing Maggie Gallagher. Bobby Jindal has been added to the list of speakers at the Values Voter Summit. The FRC's Bob Maginnis says it will "take a very courageous future leader to do anything about" reinstating DADT. Finally, Tony Perkins will be holding a press conference next week, taking questions from the press. I bet we can think of... MORE

Mission America’s Linda Harvey on Tuesday grieved over the certification of the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, warning that the military will “be destabilized as a result.” Harvey insists that the repeal is “unfair” to straight and gay soldiers alike, arguing that “because no one has been born homosexual,” gay soldiers should instead have their sexual orientations altered before they are allowed to serve. She said that soldiers will now be coerced to “say yes to deviance” and urged people to pray that gays and lesbians will... MORE

You have to give credit to Laurie Higgins and the Illinois Family Institute for coming up with a truly unique rationale for opposing the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, arguing that the fact that gays enlisted and served in the military prior to the repeal proves that they cannot be trusted to obey orders ... because they engaged in "deliberate deception" by joining the military in the first place:
Supporters of the repeal make the case that since what distinguishes soldiers is their unquestioning commitment to obey orders, this radical change in military policy will have no... MORE

Following the certification of the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, the Family Research Council today is asking members to pray that the “godless policy be reversed.” Their prayer alert echoes the message of FRC president Tony Perkins that the organization will be dedicated to monitoring the supposedly devastating consequences of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’s repeal. The group warns that the “Pandora’s Box has been opened” and that President Obama will need to answer “questions about religious freedom, conscience exemptions, and same-... MORE

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins condemned the certification of the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell in a message to FRC members yesterday, warning that the consequences will be disastrous. Perkins, who during the debate over the policy’s future claimed that elected officials who voted for repeal had blood on their hands, said that his group will be committed monitoring what he called the repeal’s devastating effects.
He writes that they will highlight supposedly suppressed stories of “the new victims of sexual harassment or assault, the soldiers... MORE
