Boykin: Don't Ask Don't Tell Repeal Led To The 'Absolute Destruction' Of The Military

On yesterday’s edition of Washington Watch, Family Research Council vice president Jerry Boykin said that America is experiencing an “absolute destruction of our military readiness and our military morale because the leadership in our military has not been willing to stand up to the President” on issues like the 2010 repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

Boykin was talking to host Tony Perkins about a recent BuzzFeed post that said President Obama “was unwilling to compromise with service leaders over DADT during a meeting in 2010.”

Boykin likened generals who supported Obama’s efforts to end the ban on openly gay service members to former general Harold K. Johnson, who regretted not resigning over President Johnson’s handling of the Vietnam war.

“I believe we have some people in the Joint Chiefs of Staff today who will live to regret the decisions that they’ve made in terms of supporting the radical policies of this administration,” Boykin said, before arguing that military leaders should have resigned to protest the lifting of the ban on gay service members: “It is a matter of honor, it is a matter of honor in doing what you believe in and standing on principle and not on career, career has to take a second seat to principle and I don’t believe that these guys are operating on principle.”

Sandy Rios Wants 'Disordered' Gays And 'Trannies' Banned From The Military

American Family Association radio host Sandy Rios said yesterday that she wants to restore the ban on gays in the military because gay people are “disordered” and won’t be able to “provide strong defense for our nation.”

Rios, who is also the AFA’s governmental affairs director, was reacting to a Palm Center study that calls for an end to the military’s prohibition on transgender service members, which led her to a long rant that serves as a great example of heterosexual privilege.

Have we been so lulled into silliness and foolishness that we think that transgendered soldiers who are confused about their sexuality who want to undergo gender reassignment, homosexual soldiers who are constantly thinking about their sexuality -- and I say that with authority, having interviewed so many ex-gays and talked about this for years, there is an obsession -- their identity, they think, is their sexuality.

How many of you who are heterosexual would first of all say to someone in describing yourself, ‘I’m heterosexual, I have sex with the opposite sex’? You have much more of an identity than that, don’t you? Well for homosexuals, they claim that as an identity, it’s all about sex, so that is a disorder in itself. You can write me, I realize that’s angering words but that is a disorder because that’s not who you are, you are much more than that. It is a disorder, it is disordered thinking and if we think that soldiers that are obsessed with these issues are going to provide strong defense for our nation, I think we are foolishly denying whatever is true.

Previously, Rios claimed that the “homosexual takeover of so much of our military ” has eviscerated military readiness and effectiveness.

Rios also criticized former Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, who chaired the Palm Center study, for writing a four-paragraph foreword for the book Harmful To Minors, in which she endorsed sexual education for minors in order to combat misinformation and STIs.

Rios said Elders has spent her career “calling for children to be sexually active” and lamented that she is “now urging for trannies to be allowed in the military.”

Inhofe: Democrats Want To Eliminate The Military

Speaking with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins on Washington Watch yesterday, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) explained that the recently unveiled Pentagon budget “has the effect of killing our young Americans in combat.”

He said President Obama is to blame for spending cuts because he probably doesn’t want to have a military anyway: “A real liberal in his heart doesn’t think you need a military anyway, I know people that would never admit that, but people I have served with here in the United States Senate, that’s the crisis we’re up against.”

A leading climate change denialist, Inhofe also took issue with spending on environmental projects.

“We really need global warming right now; we’re setting all kinds of records out in Oklahoma,” Inhofe joked, before arguing that federal funds “wasted on the global warming stuff” should have gone towards the military instead.

Perkins responded by arguing that President Obama and other Democrats “despise the military” because they support policies that have allowed gays and lesbians to serve openly.

“If you think back, the president set his sights on the military from the very beginning, pushing the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which was the beginning of the end of the military,” Perkins said.

He then repeated the false claim that end of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is responsible for an increase in sexual assaults.

AFA's McCullough: Putin Invaded Crimea As A Result Of Military Drag Show, US 'Sissification'

Apparently, Benghazi didn’t cause the Ukraine crisis after all. American Family Association radio host Kevin McCullough said yesterday that Russian president Vladimir Putin decided to seize Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula as a result of a drag show fundraiser on a US military base in Okinawa.

McCullough said Putin feels he can “get away” with his invasion of Crimea “because of what he has seen disintegrate culturally right in front of everybody’s eyes in the US” along with “the sissification of our military.”

“Putin looks at the US and we’re having drag shows on our bases,” McCullough continued. “Do developments like this have anything to do with making our military leaders look less impressive in the eyes of the world? For instance, does Mr. Putin sit there and go, ‘Yeah, I’m not going to do anything Obama says because number one, he can’t keep his word, and number two, your military is now having drag shows on its bases.’”

Gaffney: Gays And Women In Military Are Inviting War; 'God Help Us'

Earlier this year, Sandy Rios claimed that women in combat positions and the “homosexual takeover” of the military have destroyed the military’s effectiveness. Therefore it was no surprise when her Veterans Day guest Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy made a similar statement, arguing that gay and female service members have jeopardized the country’s security and the strength of the military. Gaffney also repeated the false claim that the military is now persecuting Christians and turning the practice of one’s faith into “a career-threatening activity.”

“God help us if we have to go to war again,” Gaffney told Rios, “especially if we invite war by this kind of behavior and weakness as we have in the past.”

The social engineering piece of what I think of as the Obama wrecking operation: you put in the effort to put homosexuals in the military and change the ethos of the institution in that way; you put women into combat and you change the ethos of the institution that way; you put every Christian in uniform on notice for the practice of their faith as possibly a career-threatening activity. You through all that into the mix on top of the other kinds of hallowing out — the lack of training, the lack of maintenance, the lack of modernization, the lack of research and development — and you really have I’m afraid put us in the position where we are breaking the only military we have. And God help us if we have to go to war again, and we will, especially if we invite war by this kind of behavior and weakness as we have in the past.

Rep. Palazzo: DADT Repeal Proves Obama Doesn't 'Share The Same Christian Faith That We Do'

Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-MS) is coming to the defense of the Mississippi-based American Family Association after the organization was listed as a hate group in an Army training session, and is pointing figures at the White House. In an interview with the AFA’s OneNewsNow, Palazzo hailed the extremist AFA as a “great organization” and accused Obama of trying “to make America secular” and demonize Christians.

“Basically I don’t believe [President Obama] shares the same Christian faith that we do because he’s allowing his minions his political appointees to do this,” Palazzo told AFA correspondent Chad Groening. “I mean he’s repealed ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ in the military. It was a policy that was working.”

Apparently, being a Christian means embracing the views of the AFA, a group whose chief spokesman has called for gays to be criminalized like drug addicts and commended the massacre of Native Americans.

Congressman Steven Palazzo represents Mississippi's Fourth District, where Camp Shelby is located. He has sent a letter to Army Secretary John McHugh signed by fellow Mississippi Representatives Greg Harper and Alan Nunnellee, as well as Senators Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker.

During an interview with OneNewsNow, Palazzo – a 25-year military veteran – said there seems to be a pattern of attacks on religious liberty within the military.

"I do believe there's an agenda out to make America secular and to ridicule and demagogue great groups such as AFA, which is all about the family, all about Christian principles," said the congressman. "So we're not going to stand idly by and allow ... the Army or other groups to attack such a great organization."

The Mississippi native said voters need to understand that elections have consequences.

" ... Basically I don't believe [President Obama] shares the same Christian faith that we do because he's allowing his minions his political appointees to do this," he comments. "I mean he's repealed 'don't ask, don't tell' in the military. It was a policy that was working."

Liberty Counsel Promotes Column Suggesting Obama Is Pushing White People Out Of The Military, Bent On Martial Law

Liberty Counsel today on its Facebook page promoted an American Thinker column, Is Obama Creating a Martial-law-ready Military?, which claims that Obama is pushing out “white men” from the Armed Forces and instead “promoting minorities and women,” along with “homosexuals and lesbians.”

“The Obama administration has given affirmative action in the military a dose of steroids,” Selwyn Duke writes in order to reengineer the military into a force that is “more loyal to [Obama] than to the rule of law.”

What kind of leader wants a military more loyal to himself than to the rule of law?

And why?

These are two questions to ponder when considering the strange happenings in the armed forces since Barack Obama took office.

Let's start with a hypothetical. Let's say you were a hard-left-wing commander in chief who wanted the military firmly in your corner. You'd certainly note that our armed forces have been a bastion of conservatism and Christian faith, and you'd know that its members generally weren't very fond of you. So how would you go about changing this?

Some years ago I met a very young, all-American looking white fellow who had just exited the military. His reason was that he hadn't been advanced the way he believed he should have been, and he wasn't going to remain in the armed forces if it provided no future. Now, one interpretation here is that he was a millennial with an inflated opinion of himself (he didn't strike me that way, though). Yet there is another interpretation.

The Obama administration has given affirmative action in the military a dose of steroids, promoting minorities and women -- and, I believe, homosexuals and lesbians -- at the expense of white men. By the way, is this yet another reason why Obama wanted homosexuals to be able to serve openly? After all, you can't target them for special treatment if you don't know who they are.

But the point is this: if I were that hypothetical hard-left-wing leader, I'd know that one way to change the military's political climate is the same way you do it in the nation at large.

Demographic manipulation.

White men generally vote Republican, white military men even more so, and white military men who are practicing Christians, well, that's a recipe for a left-behind left. Minorities, women, atheists and the LGBT* crowd, however, are reliable liberal constituencies. So what would I do if I were that hard leftist?

I'd create a military climate friendly toward groups that are my constituencies and hostile toward those that aren't.

Whatever your conclusions, there is of course a mundane explanation for all of this. Leftists truly believe in their insane diversity dogma and quite reflexively try to socially re-engineer whatever they can sink their claws into, be they universities, neighborhoods, businesses or even the entities charged with protecting their compassionate selves. And in this age of increasing corruption and decadence, it wouldn't be surprising to find generals transgressing against military code. Yet given that Barack Obama is a shadowy figure with a penchant for hiding his past (college records, etc.); that he has had avowed communists in his administration (Van Jones, Anita Dunn); that he seemed to belong to Chicago's socialist New Party in the 1990s; and that, according to former Occidental College acquaintance and ex-Marxist John Drew, Obama was a flat-out "Marxist Leninist" who believed in old-style communist revolution, well, one's imagination can conjure up some interesting scenarios.

Perkins: Stop Discriminating Against Straight Soldiers!

Tony Perkins led the fight against repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and runs an organization whose spokesman called on the government to “export” gay people, so it is only natural that now Perkins is fashioning himself as a foe of discrimination…against straight service members.

He is upset that the military — which recognizes same-sex marriages — is allowing gays and lesbians in the military who are stationed in states that ban same-sex marriage to travel to states with marriage equality laws to attain a marriage license:

The new policy, which will take effect by Sept. 3, allows gay and lesbian service members in the U.S. as many as seven days of extra leave to get married, as long as they are stationed more than 100 miles from a state where same-sex marriages are legal or from the District of Columbia, where the marriages are also performed.

Military personnel who are overseas will get as many as 10 days to travel back to the U.S. to get married.

Perkins has charged that the end of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell would increase the rates of suicide, sexual assault and fatalities, while also leading to the reinstatement of the draft.

Today on his radio commentary, Perkins said the military has lost “their senses” with its “discriminatory” policies:

For our troops, marriage is becoming the biggest battlefield. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. Thanks to the Pentagon, taxpayers are giving gay service members quite a wedding gift. According to the Defense Department, homosexual troops are getting some extra incentives to get hitched--including 10 days of bonus leave. The AP says gay and lesbian military members will get as many as two weeks of extra vacation time to travel to states that allow same-sex marriage. Meanwhile, the Defense Department says it "remains committed to ensuring that all men and women who service in the U.S. military... are treated fairly." If that were true, heterosexual couples would be getting the same benefits. See, this special, taxpayer-funded leave isn't just expensive--it's discriminatory. According to the Pentagon, heterosexual couples aren't eligible. How's that for equality? The administration says this perk "level[s] the playing field between opposite-sex and same-sex couples." But when it comes to extra vacation days, the only thing the military is taking leave of is their senses!

Cliff Kincaid Reminisces About Time When The Government Classified LGBT People As 'Perverts'

Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy In Media is blaming the massive security leak conducted by Chelsea Manning on President Obama’s support for LGBT rights. Although the leak occurred prior to the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, Kincaid insists that Obama’s “desire to overturn the homosexual exclusion policy was undoubtedly a factor in Army officials’ looking the other way on Manning.”

Kincaid then tied it all back to Glenn Greenwald, the openly gay reporter who published reports based on information from NSA leaker Edward Snowden.

All of these leaks wouldn’t have occurred, Kincaid reasons, in the good old days when the government labeled LGBT people as “perverts.”

CNN's story "Chelsea or Bradley Manning: Addressing transgender people" ignores the other alternative – he/she is simply a pervert who should have been booted out of the service years ago and should never have received a security clearance. The key question – not pursued by the media – is why Manning was allowed to remain in the Army when he was acting in violation of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," policy.

Manning will pay a price in prison, but those who permitted this to happen have still not been held accountable.

The buck stops with President Obama, whose announced desire to overturn the homosexual exclusion policy was undoubtedly a factor in Army officials' looking the other way on Manning.

In our August 20, 2010, article "Accused Army Traitor Cruised Gay Bars," we noted that, according to information then developed by CNN, Manning had been cruising the homosexual subculture for several years, under the noses of his military superiors, and even went to gay bars.

Despite this homosexual scandal, Congress voted to repeal the homosexual exclusion policy.

In our article "Pentagon Celebrates Gay Pride During Treason Trial," we noted that Obama's Defense Department hosted a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month event which failed to include any mention, pro or con, of the most celebrated homosexual soldier in American history, Bradley Manning, then on trial for treason.

It was a strange omission. Why weren't they proud of their gay solider?

We don't know everything there is to know about NSA leaker Edward Snowden, who supposedly has a girlfriend that he abandoned in order to flee to China and then Russia. But his handler, Guardian writer Glenn Greenwald, is an open homosexual with Marxist links whose "partner" was detained on his way through London and had his laptop, camera, memory sticks, and DVDs confiscated by authorities.

The media won't remind us of this fact, but two previous NSA defectors to the Soviet Union/Russia, Bernon F. Mitchell and William H. Martin, were also perverts.

At that time, the government frowned on employing homosexuals and "deviates." In fact, a 1950 congressional report was titled "Employment of Homosexuals and Other Sex Perverts in Government" and said that the FBI, the CIA, and the intelligence services of the Army, Navy, and Air Forces were all "in complete agreement that sex perverts in government constitute security risks."

Can you imagine a government report nowadays referring to "perverts?"

Donnelly: 'Everything We Predicted' About the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell 'Is Staring To Happen'

During an interview with Janet Parshall, anti-gay activist Elaine Donnelly pointed to a story about a drag performance at an Air Force base as proof that “everything we predicted is starting to happen” about the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Donnelly said that the USO may soon have drag shows and thus creating “social turmoil in the Armed Forces.”

Of course, Donnelly also predicted in 2010 that the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell would lead to the reinstatement of the draft.

WND: Don't Enlist In Military, Too Much Gay 'Dancing and Romancing'

WorldNetDaily columnist Patrick Brady is marking the birthday of the U.S. Army by saying that he will no longer “encourage any young person to enlist in today’s military” and he “would not give one drop of blood for the country and military we are becoming.”

Why?

Because President Obama is letting men dance with each other in his “quad-sexual military.”

“[Obama] introduced homosexual conduct into barracks, military communities and foxholes,” Brady writes. “Soldiers will see their chain of command dancing and romancing other men – or women, or both. I wonder if Mr. Obama believes that the sight of him dancing with other men at state functions would be inconsequential.”

Thanks to Obama’s “insanity,” Brady adds, now “Army posts, camps and stations [are] peopled by same-sex couples in gay, lesbian and bisexual clubs where fraternization and adultery are indefinable.”

He also warns that the military is becoming a “sexual and moral morass with readiness in shambles” like the Boy Scouts of America, which has “introduce[d] fornication, by definition, into their ranks.”

Our Army has been housed in communities of like-minded patriots separate and independent from the communities of America. The functions of those communities – schools, commissaries PXs, churches, theaters and clubs – all reflect our unique military discipline and values.

Enter Mr. Obama, a progressive moralist, who introduced homosexual conduct into barracks, military communities and foxholes, and transformed our military from heterosexual to quad-sexual (homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender). As if that weren’t enough, he is now putting females in foxholes much to the delight of our future battlefield enemies. With these changes will come a change in standards: physical for women and moral for Christians.

We are already seeing attacks on Christians and conservatives in the military. How can a military chaplain, Christian or Muslim, not teach the truths of the Bible on sodomy? Mr. Obama and his military sycophants must silence them. And it has begun. The Boy Scouts have been a kind of mini-military, and they face the same moral dilemma. How can they be morally straight when their leadership (essentially to protect their salaries) introduces fornication, by definition, into their ranks?

Unless America wakes up and stops this insanity, we will be celebrating the Army’s 239th birthday on Army posts, camps and stations peopled by same-sex couples in gay, lesbian and bisexual clubs where fraternization and adultery are indefinable – as is discipline. Homosexual health, deployment and blood issues will enter battle planning. Soldiers will see their chain of command dancing and romancing other men – or women, or both. I wonder if Mr. Obama believes that the sight of him dancing with other men at state functions would be inconsequential. The military will become a sexual and moral morass with readiness in shambles.

Over the years, I have done my share of recruiting. My military service to America was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. All my children served. I would not serve in a quad-sexual military, nor would I encourage any young person to enlist in today’s military. I would give my life for the country and military I served. I would not give one drop of blood for the country and military we are becoming. Hopefully, on this birthday of our Army and our flag, Americans will pray that the disasters of this presidency will be reversed.

Perkins: Gays to Blame for Rise of Military Sexual Assaults, Service Members 'Preferred' Don't Ask Don't Tell

On Washington Watch yesterday, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins asserted that the military has experienced a “rise of homosexual assault since the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” and that service members “preferred” the discriminatory policy. “The ramifications of this, the unintended consequences are far and wide,” Perkins lamented, warning that soon the military will have “quotas” to promote gay and lesbian service members.

Let’s do a quick rundown of Perkins’ claims, shall we?

  • There has been no evidence “suggesting that DADT repeal has led to a rise in violence among service members” [PDF].
  • The vast majority of service members said the repeal of DADT has had “no effect” on them and a mere 13% said they “continue to oppose repeal.”

But Perkins seems quite content with spewing baseless arguments as long as it furthers his anti-gay political efforts.

So we’ve seen this rise of homosexual assault since the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, so it is this sexualization of the military where sex becomes the focal point and it shouldn’t be. When there was Don’t Ask Don’t Tell nobody knew and that’s the way they preferred it and now it becomes front and center. I was talking with Gen. Jerry Boykin about this about how there will soon be quotas so that people who are openly gay or lesbian, that will be a factor that is considered when they’re promoted in a positive sense, ‘well we’ve got to have so many open homosexuals, so many lesbians, we’ve got to promote them.’ The ramifications of this, the unintended consequences are far and wide.

Boykin: 'Sexualization of our Military with Social Engineering' Responsible for Assaults

Mike Huckabee hosted Family Research Council vice president Jerry Boykin today to discuss a report on the rise of sexual assault cases in the military between 2010 and 2012, which Boykin linked to the “sexualization of our military with social engineering” policies like the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

While Boykin correctly stated that “there are actually more men that have been sexually assaulted than women,” as we have noted, women represent a higher percentage of assault cases since there are only 200,000 women in the active-duty military.

He repeated the false claim that the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is linked to the number of assaults on men. However, CNN reports the 2012 rate “remained unchanged for active duty men” from 2010, the year before the law was repealed.

The two also tied the rise in assaults to the end on the ban on women in combat, a decision that was made in 2013 — before the study’s release — and hasn’t even been fully implemented.

Huckabee: General, there has been such a rash of sexual assault in the military and it’s become virtually epidemic. I wanted your assessment, do you think this has anything to do with the fact that we’ve so liberalized the policies of everything from women in combat, the whole conception of the separation of the gender, as well as saying we’re not going to have any restrictions on homosexuals in the military? Does that have anything at all to do with this?

Boykin: Well I think it has everything to do with it, Governor. We have seen, if I may use this term, a sexualization of our military with social engineering. One of the things that most of the people don’t realize is in a recent survey there are actually more men that have been sexually assaulted than women. We are trying to violate the laws of nature, failing to recognize that these young men and women are at the peak of their sex drive when we try to mix the genders for reasons that to me are illogical and in doing so what we are doing is we are inviting this kind of behavior, it’s not acceptable and it has to be punished and dealt with. But I think that this social engineering has manifested in a number of ways and this is certainly one of the clearest.

Gaffney: Obama to Blame for Rise in Military Sexual Assaults for Encouraging Gays & Women to Serve

Frank Gaffney today made the case on Sandy Rios in the Morning that the increase in the sexual assault rate in the Armed Forces is President Obama’ fault because of his efforts to encourage women and gay people to serve.

After arguing that Obama has “savaged” the military with “vigor and lethality,” he linked Obama’s “sexual experimentation” and “social warfare against the military” to cases of sexual violence: “We’re hearing a lot about sexual assaults in the military and the like, it’s not to defend that by any means but it is to say if anybody is surprised that by putting more women and for that matter homosexuals into the military you are not going to get as a result that kind of unacceptable behavior is fatuous, it’s irresponsible, it’s malfeasance.”

The President came to office pledging fundamentally to transform the United States of America and I believe he has gone after every institution of our country, perhaps none with the vigor and lethality of the United States military. He has savaged the resources that it has relied upon to do the job we asked it to do to keep us safe, he has reduced both its numbers and its power projection capability and perhaps as troubling as anything I think he has done much to reduce its stature as a one of the most revered institutions in this country. We’re hearing a lot about sexual assaults in the military and the like, it’s not to defend that by any means but it is to say if anybody is surprised that by putting more women and for that matter homosexuals into the military you are not going to get as a result that kind of unacceptable behavior is fatuous, it’s irresponsible, it’s malfeasance, is what it’s amounts to. I’m afraid that the consequences of all of these steps, whether it’s the social experimentation or social warfare against the military or whether it’s hallowing it out through the budget and other means, the effect is we’re breaking the only military we have at a time when unfortunately we’re going to likely need them more than ever.

Boykin Ties Repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell to Rise in Sexual Assaults in the Military

Family Research Council vice president Jerry Boykin yesterday chatted with Frank Gaffney for an entire program about the forthcoming “Islamic Republic of America” where Boykin’s granddaughters are forced to wear burkas. After his usual anti-Muslim ramblings, Boykin explained that the Islamic conquest of America can only take place once people lose “traditional American values.” He argued that the Obama administration is trying to get rid of such values by repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the ban on women in combat, which he linked to an increase in reported sexual assaults.

It’s important to understand that this administration in particular has sexualized the army, I mean there’s been so much of this social engineering that all revolves around gender and sexual behavior. What we’re doing though is we are setting ourselves up for absolute failure. Yes, sexual assault is at an all-time, unprecedented high. But then when you look at the fact that we have repealed Don’t Ask Don’t Tell so that we’ve mixed people of the same sex with same-sex attraction at a time when our military is under great stress, that’s a problem; now we’re trying to put women into ground combat roles where you cannot violate the laws of nature, plain and simple, and we’re going to put women into units where there is absolutely no privacy, where you are inviting exactly what is occurring already, and that is sexual assault, sexual attraction and all of these things.

What is this all about? Why are we doing this? Well the answer is the people that are making these decisions do not care one thing about military readiness; in fact I would say most of them don’t even understand military readiness. They have an agenda and they are fulfilling that agenda by going after the military, which at the end of the day still maintains very traditional American values. While we’ve got people in the military that do some bad things from time to time, at the end of the day we still have the uniform code of military justice and it still finds, for example, adultery to punishable under the uniform code of military justice; at one time sodomy was punishable under the uniform code of military justice. It has maintained very traditional American values and what this is is an assault on the last bastion of traditional values in America because you can’t change this society until you change the military.

Barber: 'Homosexualization' of the Military Leading to 'Marxist' Persecution

The folks at Liberty Counsel are quite upset about an email sent by a lieutenant colonel which called out anti-gay groups, and as you might expect, Matt Barber is already blaming the incident on the “homosexualization of the United States military” that began following the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

Barber, an ardent supporter of the military’s then-ban on gay service members, also told Faith & Freedom cohost and Liberty Counsel head Mat Staver that the email is part of a “Marxist” attempt “to marginalize people with whom they disagree.”

Texas Attorney General to Receive an Honor from Far-Right Texas Pastors Council

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is to be honored by a far-right group whose leader has a history of comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler and attacking gays and lesbians.

Abbot is to receive an honor from two local affiliates of the U.S. Pastor’s Council, the Texas Pastor Council and the Houston Area Pastor Council. It’s unclear to what extent the groups are “groups”: all three share a website and are led by a single man, extremist pastor Dave Welch.

The groups are also planning to honor Paul Pressler, who helped lead the “conservative resurgence” within the Southern Baptist Convention. Former Clinton inquisitor Ken Starr, who now works for Baylor University, is delivering the keynote address.

The Texas Freedom Network first noticed the event and highlighted Welch’s extreme rhetoric.

For example, Welch has:

  • Likened pastors who vouch for Obama’s Christian faith to Nazis and asserted that “Obama’s anti-Christian, anti-life, anti-marriage, anti-constitutional and anti-American policies” prove he only seeks to “use the church in the same way as a previous leader on a different continent,” Hitler.
  • Claimed the judge who ruled that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is unconstitutional is a treasonous “domestic enemy.”

But working with radicals like Welch is just part of the game for Texas Republicans, who continue to compete with each other to see who can be farthest to the right.

Allen West Still Attacking Gays and Liberals in Life after Congress

After losing his bid for a second term in Congress, despite a more favorable district, Allen West is continuing his work as a fulltime conservative blowhard (but without a taxpayer-funded salary). West is working at PJ Media and appeared yesterday on Washington Watch with Family Research Council leaders Tony Perkins and Jerry Boykin, where he criticized the lifting of the bans on women in combat and gays and lesbians in the military.

West told Boykin that “the liberal progressive left” is “coming at the military so viciously and vehemently because they want to tear down that ‘last bastion of strength, honor and moral fortitude,’ things that they really don’t understand,” lamenting that the generals haven’t stopped them.

The former congressman pointed to the election of Ashley Broadway, who is married to Army Lt. Col. Heather Mack, as Fort Bragg’s 2013 “Spouse of the Year” in a Military Spouse magazine poll. Broadway had previously been turned away from joining the base’s spouses club. West said Broadway’s story will undermine military’s resolve and strength.

He added that if he was an “enemy propagandist and I look at the lifting of this combat exclusion ban I’m going to turn that my benefit.”

West: The Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy and now this policy about lifting the exclusionary ban, people are starting to ask: what are the Generals in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps thinking about in not challenging to say, ‘this can’t be done.’

Boykin: I think your points are very well taken because I think one of the consequences of this will be a further erosion of the credibility of the General officer corps in the military and all services, as well an erosion of a confidence of the Americans in our military. You know the military has always been sort of the keepers of the keys of traditional American values and I think people are starting to question it and I think that’s what you were saying.

West: You are absolutely right and you know that from firsthand experience. I believe that is a reason why the liberal progressive left are coming at the military so viciously and vehemently because they want to tear down that ‘last bastion of strength, honor and moral fortitude,’ things that they really don’t understand. Look at just recently happened at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where the ‘Military Spouse of the Year’ for Fort Bragg, North Carolina is a lesbian partner to an Army Lt. Colonel or a Colonel. These are the type of things that are starting to happen which is going to question people’s resolve as far as, what are we doing to our military? Are we focused so much on winning social engineering points for special interest points or are we supposedly focused on what we should be doing which is going out there and fighting this very strong, very vicious, very determined radical Islamist enemy. If I’m an enemy propagandist and I look at the lifting of this combat exclusion ban I’m going to turn that my benefit and my messaging is going to be: the American men don’t want to fight us so they’re turning to their women.

Meanwhile, Perkins once again said that the “social engineering that has gone on in the military” and “tampering with the military environment” under President Obama “could very well lead to a draft.”

Perkins: What you have seen since you left the military but in particular under the four years of the Obama administration, I don’t think anybody could argue with the social engineering that has gone on in the military. My concern here in part is with all this tampering with the military environment that it’s going to have an effect—might be ten years until we see the total effect—it’s going to have an effect on retention, recruitment and this could very well lead to a draft once again because the volunteers are not going to be there in this environment which has been so damaged by these policies.

AFA Livid that Same-Sex Partners of Service Members May Be Buried at Arlington National Cemetery

The Pentagon’s recent decision to extend certain benefits to the same-sex partners of service members following the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell has provoked the ire of the American Family Association, which is upset that they may now be eligible for burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

A new action alert from the AFA asks members to email their representatives in Congress, telling them that Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has “effectively devastated our nation's military by allowing the ‘gay agenda’ to take priority over national defense.”

The AFA claims that homosexuality “presents an unacceptable risk to good order, discipline, morale and unit cohesion” and that the “most disturbing [thing] is his decision to allow homosexual partners to be buried on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.”

This means the military will recognize homosexual lovers as “married” and will give a full slate of benefits, including burial in Arlington National Cemetery.

Panetta, at every turn, has exposed the military to open homosexuality, which presents an unacceptable risk to good order, discipline, morale and unit cohesion - qualities essential for combat readiness.

TAKE ACTION

Send a letter to your members of Congress, letting them know that, on their watch, they have allowed the security of our nation to be endangered by focusing on social experimentation, rather than defense.

Under your watch, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has effectively devastated our nation's military by allowing the "gay agenda" to take priority over national defense.

This week, his decision to grant "marriage" benefits to homosexuals in the military presents an unacceptable risk to good order, discipline, morale and unit cohesion - qualities essential for combat readiness.

Most disturbing is his decision to allow homosexual partners to be buried on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.

I urge you to do your part in restoring sanity to the Department of Defense and stop social experimentation in the military.

Klingenschmitt: Gay Rights Lead to 'Discrimination Against Heterosexuals'

We’re used to hearing claims by right-wing activists that gay rights supporters are “heterophobic.” Former chaplain and gay-exorcist Gordon Klingenschmitt argued along those lines in an interview today, where he maintained that same-sex partner benefits represent “discrimination against heterosexuals.”

While speaking with OneNewsNow, an affiliate of the American Family Association, Klingenschmitt criticized Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s decision to offer some — but not all — military benefits to same-sex spouses. Klingenschmitt said such a move will give gay service members “bonus pay and more benefits when all the rest of our troops are getting less benefits, less armor, less weapons and less ability to fight wars.”

Sources say Panetta has not made a final decision on which benefits will be included, but the Pentagon is likely to allow same-sex partners to have access to the on-base commissary and other military subsidized stores, as well as health and welfare programs.

The military is likely to require that some type of document be signed to designate the military member's partner as a legitimate recipient of the benefits. But Gordon Klingenschmitt, a former Navy chaplain who now runs The Pray In Jesus Name Project, tells OneNewsNow that "this is not equality."

"This is now discrimination against heterosexuals, because when I was dating my girlfriend -- even when she was engaged to be married to me -- she was not allowed to enter the commissary or even get on the military base until we were legally married," he recalls.

And Klingenschmitt says this move is especially outrageous in light of the Defense Department budget cuts that are coming.

"When [Panetta] talks about sequester and cutting the Pentagon budget by 22 percent, apparently those cuts don't apply to homosexuals, because they're getting bonus pay and more benefits when all the rest of our troops are getting less benefits, less armor, less weapons and less ability to fight wars," the chaplain reasons.

He concludes that all this has come about because the people of the United States elected -- and then re-elected -- Barack Obama as president.

Boykin was talking to host Tony Perkins about a recent BuzzFeed post that said President Obama “was unwilling to compromise with service leaders over DADT during a meeting in 2010.” Boykin likened generals... American Family Association radio host Sandy Rios said yesterday that she wants to restore the ban on gays in the military because gay people are “disordered” and won’t be able to “provide strong defense for our nation.” Rios, who is also the AFA’s governmental affairs director, was reacting to a Palm Center study that calls for an end to the military’s prohibition on transgender service members, which led her to a long rant that serves as a great example of heterosexual privilege. Have we been so lulled into silliness and foolishness that we think... MORE

Speaking with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins on Washington Watch yesterday, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) explained that the recently unveiled Pentagon budget “has the effect of killing our young Americans in combat.” He said President Obama is to blame for spending cuts because he probably doesn’t want to have a military anyway: “A real liberal in his heart doesn’t think you need a military anyway, I know people that would never admit that, but people I have served with here in the United States Senate, that’s the crisis we’re up against.... McCullough said Putin feels he can “get away” with his invasion of Crimea “because of what he has seen disintegrate culturally right in front of everybody’s eyes in the US” along with “the sissification of our military.” “Putin looks at the US and... Gaffney also repeated the false claim that the military is now persecuting Christians and turning the practice of one’s faith into “a career-threatening... MORE

“Basically I don’t believe [President Obama] shares the same Christian faith that we do because he’s allowing his minions his political... Liberty Counsel today on its Facebook page promoted an American Thinker column, Is Obama Creating a Martial-law-ready Military?, which claims that Obama is pushing out “white men” from the Armed Forces and instead “promoting minorities and women,” along with “homosexuals and lesbians.” “The Obama administration has given affirmative action in the military a dose of steroids,” Selwyn Duke writes in order to reengineer the military into a force that is “more loyal to [Obama] than to the rule of law.” What kind of leader wants a...
