Florida Man Requests To Marry 'Porn Filled Apple Computer' In Super-Clever Marriage Equality Protest

Many anti-gay activists are strangely obsessed with the idea that marriage equality might someday lead to legalized human-object marriage, whether that object is a car, a turtle, or the Eiffel Tower.

A Florida man has taken this obsession to a new level, filing a motion to intervene in the case challenging the state’s marriage equality ban, purporting to seek the right to marry his “porn filled Apple computer.”

The Broward/Palm Beach New Times provides this quote from the motion of Chris Sevier, which it notes is “Short on sound legal grounding (and even shorter on wit)”:

Recently, I purchased an Apple computer. The computer was sold to me without filters to block out pornography. I was not provided with any warning by Apple that pornography was highly addictive and could alter my reward cycle by the manufacturer. Over time, I began preferring sex with my computer over sex with real women. Naturally, I 'fell in love' with my computer and preferred having sex with it over all other persons or things, as a result of classic conditioning upon orgasm.

Unsurprisingly, Sevier’s motion was rejected last week by the clearly unamused Judge Robert L. Hinkle:

Chris Sevier has moved to intervene, apparently asserting he wishes to marry his computer. Perhaps the motion is satirical. Or perhaps it is only removed from reality. Either way, the motion has no place in this lawsuit. Mr. Sevier has alleged nothing that would support intervention.

The New Times notes that Sevier has tried this sort of thing before:

A Chris Sevier sued Apple because it sold him a computer without telling him about the evils of porn. A Chris Sevier sued A&E after it fired Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson after he was caught spewing antigay talk. And just recently, a Chris Sevier tried to butt his way into Utah's gay marriage legal case . In a 50-page motion, he claimed he was there to make the court "put up or shut up" on the gay marriage issue.

In his motion in the Utah case, Sevier laid out his totally air-tight argument, warning that marriage equality and the “slippery slope” he warns will ensue will result in Americans “becoming salves of our glands, not slaves of virtue”:

Either (1) we will be reduced to a Nation that hypocritically enforces the equal protection and due process clause to suit the interest of the largest minority, which yields discrimination against the true minority classes of sexual orientation, causing hypocrisy to undermine foundation laws, yielding instability; (2) we will remain a Christian Nation that protects traditional marriage, as a relationship set apart because it has the potential of bearing life between two people, who are in a legally binding relationship, who have naturally corresponding sexual organs with the exclusive potential to produce children with DNA that matches theirs; which, of course, makes that relationship both scientifically and factually distinct from all others-religious aside; or (3) we will progress into a Nation that gives equal protection to all classes of sexual orientation allowing everyone to marrying anyone and anything to suit their appetite in the name of tolerance, equality, and love -becoming slaves of ourglands, not slaves of virtue. There is no other possible alternative.

Former Bush Administration Official Explains How Gays Are Worse Than Murderers

Former Bush administration official Robert R. Reilly is out with a new book called “Making Gay Okay: How Rationalizing Homosexual Behavior Is Changing Everything,” which has won endorsements from John Eastman of the National Organization for Marriage and ex-gay therapist Joseph Nicolosi.

Reilly appeared on “The Janet Mefferd Show” yesterday to explain that gay people are worse than murderers, who at least feel remorse for their crimes.

After the person murders someone or looks at pornography, they come to see that what they did was actually wrong, they can’t excuse it and moral order is restored and they’re contrite for having done so. But what if you organize your life around something that is wrong? Then you must construct a more permanent rationalization that prevents your conscience from returning to tell you that you’ve just done something profoundly wrong.

This is exactly the case with active homosexuals, now extended to homosexual marriage, where they have to say that wrong is right and not only is it right but it’s normative, morally normative, so we need to teach it, we need to bless it in marriages, we need to ordain it in churches and we need to enforce it in our laws. And that is what is happening.

He went on to allege that marriage equality — or as he called it earlier in the interview, “sodomitical marriage” — is “an act of injustice” because it robs people of “the goods” from opposite-sex relationships.

When you take the goods proper to a marriage, which exactly can only exist between a man and a woman because those sexual powers are unitive and procreative, therefore only the relationship between a man and a woman can be spousal. Now when you take the goods and the obligations proper to that state of marriage and transfer them to two men or two women, that is an act of injustice.

You are giving the goods to something — you are not behaving toward that thing according to what it is, which is not a marriage because it can’t be unitive and it can’t be procreative. So you’re lying, you’re creating an unreality and assigning to something a good which it doesn’t deserve. It’s a fraud.

Reilly explained that homosexuality is intrinsically wrong and a misuse of “sexual powers.”

“The sexual act in homosexual in males is sodomy, and how could an unchaste act be a source of fidelity?” Reilly said. “That’s a contradiction in terms.”

“That’s as absurd as saying the eye isn’t for seeing. Who are you to say the eye is for seeing or the ear is for hearing? It’s not we who say that, it’s the eye that lets us know when we examine it. And we can’t just forget just because we get below the waist that all of the sudden, ‘Well, who knows what these organs are for?’ It’s some sort of epistemological amnesia: ‘Who could imagine what our sexual powers are for?’”

But he ended the interview on a high note, declaring that Americans will begin to fight back against this “highly disordered, immoral act.”

Reilly: What is the nature of this act of sodomy? We can only judge the nature of that act when we examine the nature and purpose of our sexual powers. Just through our reason we can know that this is a highly disordered, immoral act and a profound misuse of our sexual powers, which is why it has been condemned in Western civilization for 4,000 years, and not just in Western civilization.

Mefferd: So what do you think is ahead for our country? Do you have any expectation at all that the United States will one day wake up and say, ‘Wait a second, we’ve been had, we need to really fight this.’

Reilly: Yes, I think that will happen, it’s just a matter of how much damage will be done before it happens. This will fail because it is against nature. Its principal enemy is reality.

Fischer: 'Homosexuality Is A God Problem'

For the last few days, Bryan Fischer has been arguing that people reject God and his rules not for intellectual reasons but because they are in rebellion against God's moral standards and therefore reject God in their hearts which, in turn, messes up their minds so that they cannot see the clear and obvious truth that God exists.

And that is how people become gay, Fischer explained today.

"Homosexuality is not an orientation problem," he said. "Homosexuality is a God problem. People slide into homosexuality because they first of all refuse to acknowledge God, to honor him, or to give him thanks. And one of the products of that rejection of God is a declension into homosexual behavior":

Peter LaBarbera Wants Ex-Gays On Fox, While Cliff Kincaid Wants Gays Out Of Conservative Movement

Appearing last week on the TV web show America’s Survival, Americans For Truth About Homosexuality president Peter LaBarbera attacked Modern Family and other TV shows for portraying gays as “the most noble” characters.

LaBarbera seemed to chide Modern Family both for including a gay couple and not focusing on the couple enough: “We see Modern Family where you’ve got two homosexual men raising an infant or a toddler like it’s nothing, like it’s nothing out of the ordinary. Of course, that’s intentional. They don’t even make that the main part of the show. This is manipulation. Americans are being manipulated on a daily basis by Big Hollywood and Big Media.”

LaBarbera also knocked Fox News for providing insufficient airtime for ex-gays. “When are we going to see a content, happy, ex-gay in a Hollywood movie?” he demanded.

“When is Sean Hannity, Megyn Kelly or Bill O’Reilly going to have an ex-gay on Fox?”

“Fox is promoting black conservatives, which is a good thing,” he added. “Why aren’t they promoting these politically incorrect people? Why have they never promoted ex-gays on Fox?”

Host Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy In Media, who last year demanded that CPAC hold a panel discussion on why gay people are “prone to violence, terror, and treason,” said that gay people or straight supporters of gay rights can’t be conservative.

After arguing that CNN host S.E. Cupp is “parading around and posing as a conservative,” Kincaid said that “you cannot be a conservative in the traditional sense and be a homosexual, you cannot be a conservative in the traditional sense and promote homosexual marriage and all these other libertine and left-wing causes.”

Co-host Jerry Kenney later said people should begin “referring to gay marriages as unnatural marriages,” but even that didn’t go far enough for LaBarbera.

“I don’t want to call it marriage,” he said. “You could look at a tree and call it a car, that doesn’t mean that’s a car.”

BarbWire's New Columnist Wants Gays Jailed For Twelve Years

This weekend, Matt Barber’s BarbWire published a column by former Indiana lawmaker Don Boys, who recounted his attempt to recriminalize sodomy:

The committee hearing room at the Indiana Capitol Building was packed, mostly with the media and opponents to my bill to reinstate sodomy as a crime, as it had been in Indiana for about a hundred years. My opponents all had their allotted time to oppose my bill, and one was a professor at Indiana University. He said that homosexuals “only wanted to be left alone.” I laughed.

In defense of my bill I told him that sodomy should be a crime again to give police officials authority to stop the cruising in city parks, sex in public restrooms, and discourage molesting of little boys. I ended by saying that homosexuals want much more than to be left alone. “They want respectability. They want to move into a house in the suburbs, park matching Volvos in the driveway and be accepted as normal people; but that won’t happen as long as Christians live in this state.” In recent years, homosexuals have demanded and received not only acceptance and approval, but even applause. We are told it is even commendable and courageous to practice perversion. And even Bible-oriented church leaders have joined the chorus!

In a 2009 column, which closely resembles his BarbWire post, Boys explained that he wanted to make homosexuality a crime punishable up to twelve years in prison:

Politicians, professors, preachers, pundits, perverts, and ordinary people packed the committee room at the Indiana State Capital in October of 1978. The occasion was the introduction of my bill to make sodomy illegal again in Indiana, as it had been for a hundred years. In fact, I used the same language that was the original law before radicals repealed it a couple years before I was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives.

After I made my case for the bill, quoting classic studies from highly reputable experts that supported my position that homosexuals are not “born that way,” do recruit, do molest far more than heterosexuals do, and are very dangerous people, the chairman asked for comments. Two preachers came to my defense then the opposition from Indiana University, the media, and academia came down hard on me and my bill. You might think that I was suggesting cameras in every bedroom and stringing up homosexuals from the maple trees on the capital lawn. Or, as Thomas Jefferson suggested, that they be castrated! No, I only suggested 12 years in prison as had been the law for many years.

A professor spoke in defense of sodomy enumerating some famous homosexuals in history. All he proved was that some famous people in history were sexual deviates! No one disputes that. Some famous people in history were drunks, child molesters, thieves, wife beaters, and killers. I could not restrain myself and laughed in his face and into the cameras when the professor declared that King David and Jonathan “were lovers,” (something I had never heard before that time).

The column ended with a call to keep gays either in jail or the closet, along with the patently false claim that the Shepard-Byrd Hate Crimes Law would “make this column illegal.”

The Federal Government is considering the outcome of the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill that would penalize decent Christians and protect pedophiles and would make this column illegal and expose me to a prison term. So be it.

Bring back anti-sodomy laws in each state. At least it might keep some of them deep inside the closet if they aren’t in prison and that’s better than nothing.

The new BarbWire columnist also believes that America is about to be destroyed by God:

President Obama committed political suicide when he climbed in bed with the homosexual crowd (figuratively, I hope). It doesn’t matter whether he was following an orchestrated script or not. The results are the same. American liberal politicians have been sniffing around this issue for many years, but now it is official, and that could be dangerous for Obama and America. God is not pleased and it is a dangerous thing to displease a sovereign, holy God! Look at Sodom!

It is trite but true that God destroyed Sodom because of the sin of perversion. Genesis 19 clearly records that the whole city was given over to sodomy. When the majority of the city supported perversion, God destroyed the city. America, watch out! We are ripe for ruin! We could be there today, especially when so many politicians, media personalities, and now the official representative of all Americans have chosen to disobey God, deny the Scriptures, and defy common sense. They are saying that sodomy is acceptable and respectable, but God says it is abominable and reprehensible.

FRC Warns 'Modern Caesar,' 'King George III' Obama Using Gay Rights To 'Punish' Christians

In a fundraising sent out last week, the Family Research Council plays up fears of impending Christian persecution in America to warn that President Obama’s positions on gay rights and reproductive choice are meant to “silence” and “punish” conservative Christians.

“You, as a person of faith, are especially at risk because your values and beliefs are standing in the way of the goals of this growing lawlessness,” warns FRC president Tony Perkins.

“Is President Barack Obama becoming a modern Caesar? Or a 21st century version of King George III -- the out-of-control monarch who triggered the American Revolution with his reckless disregard of English laws and biblically-based rights?” Perkins wonders.

Emphases are his:

Is President Barack Obama becoming a modern Caesar? Or a 21st century version of King George III -- the out-of-control monarch who triggered the American Revolution with his reckless disregard of English laws and biblically-based rights?

These may be shocking questions to ask, but I can tell you that thoughtful people inside Washington, D.C., and outside of it are VERY worried. They are worried that President Obama and his administration are so bent on "transforming" America that they are willing, perhaps even planning, to dismiss the laws and Constitution that keep us a free nation.

And the targets include you: your faith, your values, your freedom.

In my 20-plus years of active involvement in the government process, I've never seen anything like the encroaching tyranny I'm seeing today by the Obama administration.

And if we don't join together and stop the abuse of power by the President and his allies, I fear we could lose our freedoms.

You, as a person of faith, are especially at risk because your values and beliefs are standing in the way of the goals of this growing lawlessness :

· You believe in sexual morality. They believe government should protect and fund sexual immorality and punish dissenters like you.

· You believe in the legal exclusivity of natural marriage. They believe you are dangerous. They think coercion is justified to silence you. They have openly declared that the right to homosexual behavior overrules your constitutional right to disagree with their "new morality."

· You believe in the sanctity of human life from conception until natural death. They believe you should be forced to pay for drugs that can destroy human embryos, ObamaCare rationing and other immoral mandates.

The Founders rejected King George III and wanted a government of laws, not men. Yet President Obama and his administration are acting like an imperial monarch. Like Caesar or King George -- not the president envisioned by the Founding Fathers! We must take firm action.

Iowa GOP Senate Candidates Vow To Block Judges Who Won't Follow 'Biblical' Law

The Iowa-based Religious Right group The Family Leader held a forum for Republican US Senate candidates on Friday, at which the group’s view that “God instituted government” figured heavily. In fact, nearly every candidate at the debate vowed that if they were to be elected to the Senate they would block federal judicial nominees who do not follow what they perceive as “natural law” or a “biblical view of justice.”

Bob Vander Plaats, head of The Family Leader, opened the forum by declaring, “At The Family Leader, we believe God has three institutions: It would be the church, the family, and government.”

He warned that policies such as legal abortion and marriage equality would cause God to cease blessing the country. “As we have a culture that runs further and further from God’s principles, His precepts, from God’s heart, it’s only natural consequences that we’re going to suffer,” he said.

“You cannot run away from the heart of God and expect God to bless the country," he concluded.

Several of the candidates echoed this theme during the forum. When moderator Erick Erickson, the right-wing pundit, asked the candidates what criteria they would look for in confirming federal judges, three out of four said they would demand faith in God or adherence to “natural law.”

Sam Clovis, a college professor and retired Air Force colonel, answered that he has  “a very firm litmus test” on judges: “Can that judge…explain to me natural law and natural rights?”

Joni Ernst, who is currently a state senator, agreed, adding that federal judges should understand that the Constitution and all of our laws “did come from God” and that senators should “make sure that any decisions that they have made in the past are decisions that fit within that criteria.”

Former federal prosecutor Matt Whitaker argued that neither Clovis’ nor Ernst’s answer had gone “far enough.” He said that he would demand that federal judicial nominees be “people of faith” and “have a biblical view of justice.”

“As long as they have that worldview, then they’ll be a good judge,” he said. “And if they have a secular worldview, where this is all we have here on earth, then I’m going to be very concerned about how they judge.”

This all must have been very pleasing to Vander Plaats, who in 2010 orchestrated the ousting of Iowa Supreme Court justices who had ruled in favor of marriage equality, and who has repeatedly insisted that marriage equality is unconstitutional because it "goes against" the Bible and the "law of nature."

Heritage Scholar Claims Marriage Equality Bans 'Take Nothing Away From Anyone'

Heritage Foundation fellow Ryan T. Anderson, the anti-marriage-equality movement’s new young voice, claimed in an interview with the LDS Church-owned KSL TV in Salt Lake City, that banning marriage equality “take[s] nothing away from anyone” and “in no way infringes upon the liberty of any American to live and to love how they choose to.”

Anderson claims that in a “live and let live society,” LGBT people would not have marriage rights, but would receive marriage benefits from their employers if their employers chose.

In the interview, transcribed by the Deseret News, Anderson also explains that it’s easy for him to take emotion out of the marriage debate.

KSL: As you lay out your arguments, many people may be unmoved because it seems like you aren’t giving homosexuals the opportunity for true fulfillment, that society is justifying sacrificing some people’s fulfillment at the sake of others. What is your response to that?

RA: Marriage laws take nothing away from anyone. In all 50 states, two people of the same sex can live with each other and love each other. If their house of worship recognizes same-sex marriage, they can have a wedding there. If their business wants to give them marriage benefits, the business can. That’s very much a live and let live society. What’s at stake with the redefinition of marriage is: will the law redefine what marriage is and then force every community, every religious community, except for the four walls of a church, every business community, into treating the same-sex relationship as if it’s a marriage, even when it violates their beliefs about marriage? But defining marriage as between a man and a woman so that as many children as possible have a mother and a father in no way infringes upon the liberty of any American to live and to love how they choose to.

Linda Harvey Hails Muslim Taxi Drivers For Refusing 'Gay Games' Advertisements

Mission America host Linda Harvey is overjoyed that some Muslim taxi drivers, while “sometimes kind of scary,” are refusing to drive cabs with advertisements for the upcoming Gay Games in Cleveland. But at the same time, Harvey continues to warn that gays and Muslims are working together to push an anti-Christian agenda.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but there’s going to be a big gathering of homosexuals in the city of Cleveland in August for what is called the Gay Games,” Harvey said. “Yes I know, it seems that these folks can’t stop proclaiming in public the sinful behavior they’ve told us for years they wanted to keep private.”

“About twenty-five cab drivers who are Muslims are refusing to drive cabs that display the Gay Games promotional signs. And you know what, I totally agree with them, good for them for having the courage to stand up and do this.”

She went on to allege that the “homosexual community” is silent on the issue, even though many gay news outlets covered the story. Harvey blamed the purported silence on “fear” of the Muslim community.

“Unlike Christians that the LGBT folks keep trying to paint as haters and harassers, Muslims really are sometimes kind of scary or they have scary friends,” she said.

Moments after saluting this anti-gay move by a group of Muslim taxi drivers, she then alleged that Muslims and gays are working together to bring down Christianity.

“But there’s something else. Could it be that the two groups have a common denominator that transcends the homosexuality issue, and that is they both essentially despise Christians?” she explained. “Sadly, I believe that gets to the heart of what is going on, whether these folks admit it or not.”

Glenn Grothman Says John Kerry Upset God By Condemning Uganda's Anti-Gay Crackdown

Last week, GOP congressional candidate and Wisconsin state senator Glenn Grothman told the hard line anti-gay group Voice of Christian Youth America that Secretary of State John Kerry was wrong to condemn Uganda’s brutal anti-gay law because his words upset God.

Grothman attacked Kerry’s condemnation of Uganda’s law, warning that the secretary of state will agitate God by sending “scientists to Africa to say how wonderful the homosexual lifestyle is.”

“Look at what’s become of our country,” Grothman said.

He claimed that while America once had “positive influence on Africa” by “sending missionaries,” now the US is hurting the continent by opposing Uganda’s draconian law.

Instead, what we have is the Secretary of State going to Africa and educating Ugandans or saying he is going to send American scientists to Uganda to explain how normal homosexuality is. Think about that. I mean, what must God think of our country? We had such a great country in the relatively recent past. Now America, which is supposed to be the light of the world, instead we’re the light going the opposite direction. I guess I wish we had more political leaders and religious leaders speaking out and saying, what in the world is John Kerry doing? I mean, what must God think of our country? If now, rather than sending people to Uganda to explain better agricultural techniques, sending missionaries to Africa educating people on Christianity, we send scientists to Africa to say how wonderful the homosexual lifestyle is. It is just unbelievable what has become of our country.

American Decency Association Says Children Seeking Adoption Are Better Off Without A Home Than With Gay Parents

The culture-war crusaders at the American Decency Association are now joining a slew of other anti-gay activists in arguing that conservatives have been too lenient towards the gay community and need to fight against LGBT equality even more fervently.

“[W]hile we’re wielding a knife in the gunfight, we’re leaving our gun in the holster,” the ADA’s Chris Johnson lamented in an blog post last week.

Johnson insisted that the Religious Right must maintain its opposition to gay adoption, arguing that a “needy child” seeking adoption will “be better off waiting to be adopted by a heterosexual family which can give them the benefit of both a mother and father.”

When the same-sex marriage proponent says "these two people love each other; why shouldn't they be allowed to stand in front of their friends and family and make it official?" our response is that marriage has always been defined as between as a man and a woman and the state's interest in marriage is to regulate the individual units of society in the way that's most productive to society.

When they say, "why can't this loving couple adopt a needy child who just wants a family?" we answer that, statistically speaking, the child will be better off waiting to be adopted by a heterosexual family which can give them the benefit of both a mother and father.

And these arguments are solid, but the problem is that if you tell two people who really do love each other, that making the state recognize their love will fray the fabric of society, you will always look like a spiteful villain.

That is not to say that we shouldn't make those arguments. If the only result was that we would be more resolute in our own support of God-defined marriage, that would be valuable enough to focus on those aspects - and that's beside the fact that some people's emotions may still be swayed by an intellectual argument.

The issue, in my opinion is that while we're wielding a knife in the gunfight, we're leaving our gun in the holster.

Fischer: 'Gay Activists Are Like Leeches'

Bryan Fischer is still miffed by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's decision to withdraw from the culture war over marriage, declaring on his radio program yesterday that gay activists are like leeches for whom no amount of blood is ever enough.

Pointing to opposition to efforts by Chick-fil-A to open restaurants in New York City, Fischer cited Proverbs 30:15 to proclaim that "gay activists are like leeches."

"The point here," Fischer said, "is that with the homosexual lobby, you cannot ever give them enough. Don't even try. There's no point in making concessions. There's no point in capitulating. There's no point in yielding to their demands. There's no point in offering them some kind of appeasement in the hopes that they will leave you alone, that they will leave you in peace. It won't work":

The Family Leader Cites Satirical Column To Warn of Gay Anti-Christian Holocaust

It’s not just Matt Barber who didn’t get that William Saletan’s Slate column calling for the “purging” of every single person who had donated to the Proposition 8 campaign was an obvious satire skewering critics of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich.

The Saletan column is still making the rounds among conservative activists, and today it's featured in a breathless blog post from the Family Leader, the Iowa conservative group run by Bob Vander Plaats that will be hosting a forum for Iowa’s Republican US Senate candidates later this week.

The Family Leader cites the satirical column to warn that “according to this well-read author, if you believe marriage is between a man and a woman and the natural/God designed parameters for sexuality, you must be purged. You must be eliminated.”

“Will the Church remain silent? They’re coming for them next,” the group adds.

Illustrating the post is a photograph of a concentration camp during the Holocaust.

Liberty Counsel Fears It Will 'Soon Be Taboo To Be Heterosexual In America'

The anti-gay group Liberty Counsel is afraid that it will “soon be taboo to be heterosexual in America.”

The article the group links to concerns recent elections for central committee posts in the Illinois Republican Party where “six of the seven officials who signed on to a letter last year to hold a vote on removing [Pat] Brady as chairman” over “his statements supporting same-sex marriage” lost their races.

Not only does Liberty Counsel equate heterosexuality with homophobia, but the group’s vice president, Matt Barber, seems to think he will be killed due to gay rights laws.

Cruz: Obama Provoked 'Constitutional Crisis' With Marriage Equality, Immigration, Drug Sentencing Moves

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas joined Frank Gaffney yesterday to discuss Cruz’s bill aimed at stopping Iran’s new United Nations ambassador, who had been involved in the Iranian hostage crisis, from entering the United States. The bill was passed unanimously by Congress and signed by President Obama, who had already refused to grant a visa to the Iranian official, but that didn’t keep Gaffney and Cruz from using the issue to criticize the president.

Like President George H.W. Bush had done with a similar bill, the president noted in a signing statement that the bill might not pass constitutional muster because only the president — not Congress — has constitutional authority to receive ambassadors, so he would have to take the bill as “advisory.”

This led Cruz to berate the president for his refusal to defend the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act in the courts (both Republican and Democratic administrations have refused to defend laws they believe to be unconstitutional), his executive orderdeferring deportations of some DREAMers, his widely misrepresented decision to grant the request of Republican governors to modify welfare-to-work requirements, and the attorney general’s move to broaden clemency opportunities for nonviolent offenders serving time for drug crimes.

When Gaffney asked if such actions “constitute a Constitutional crisis in our time,” Cruz responded, “That is exactly right.”

Cruz: You’re right, he did put out that signing statement, and if nothing else I have to praise him for his candor. Because one of the most dismaying aspects of the Obama administration has been that this president seems to regard all legislation as advisory. And so he said so explicitly here that the legislation was now written in the law books as part of the US code, but if he so desires he might ignore it sometime in the future. None of that surprises me because that has been the approach President Obama has taken to the entire rest of the US code, whether it has been immigration laws or marriage laws or drug laws or welfare laws or Obamacare, which he 30 times has ignored the text of the law and disregarded it.

Gaffney: Or rewritten it on his own authority. This raises the question – and I think you’ve very directly addressed it in the past, and I’d invite you to do so again – does this constitute a Constitutional crisis in our time as the result of the man simply departing from his oath, sworn responsibilities to uphold the Constitution, which clearly makes it the Congress’s role to enact legislation.

Cruz: That is exactly right.

AFA Warns 'Homosexual Aggression' Has Banned Christians From '7 Common Careers'

In a fundraising email today, American Family Association president Tim Wildmon warns that the list of careers that Christians can hold in America “is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.”

The email lists “7 common careers Christians may no longer hold in America,” which it says includes photography, broadcasting and teaching. Wildmon cites a few cases in which business owners have been sued for refusing to provide services to gay people and have sought broad exemptions from anti-discrimination laws that apply to businesses operating in the public square. He also cites the case of Craig James, who was hired by a regional Fox Sports network before being fired by the national network, which he claimed was because of his “personal religious beliefs.” Wildmon claims that James, who has since been hired by the Family Research Council , is a martyr who has been banned from broadcasting thanks to “homosexual aggression.”

7 common careers Christians may no longer hold in America

April 23, 2014

Many Christians choose self-employed careers because they want to be able to run their business according to the dictates of their faith and conscience.

That list is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.

Don't be fooled. This is a focused effort to ostracize and humiliate faith-based businesses and their owners. Here are a few recent examples:

  • Photography - A Christian photographer in New Mexico was fined $6700 for politely declining to photograph a lesbian commitment ceremony. The Supreme Court allowed this fine to stand.
  • Baker - A Christian baker in Oregon is facing both civil and criminal penalties, including jail time, for politely declining to bake a cake for a gay wedding ceremony. Her business has closed.
  • Florist - Baronelle Stutzman, a Christian florist in Washington, is being sued by the state attorney general for politely declining to prepare an arrangement for a gay wedding ceremony.
  • Broadcasting - Craig James was fired by Fox Sports Southwest after only one day on the job for expressing his support for natural marriage while he was a candidate for the United States Senate.
  • Counseling - Jennifer Keeton was dismissed from the counseling program at Augusta State University for her religious reservations about the homosexual lifestyle.
  • Innkeeping - The Wildflower Inn in Vermont was fined $30,000 and forced to shut down its wedding reception business after politely declining to host a lesbian ceremony.
  • Teaching - Ms. Gillian John-Charles was kicked out of a doctoral program in education at Roosevelt University for expressing in class her belief that homosexuals aren't born gay.

What you can do about it…

AFA is improving the way we communicate, so you can get the latest information quickly and effectively engage the culture when our Christian brothers and sister come under attack from homosexual aggression.

Michael Bresciani Chides Gay People As Lower Than Monkeys

Christian Post blogger Michael Bresciani is out with another warning that the “gay agenda” and the purported rise of “perverted and libidinous behavior” is creating a “world that is plunging in unison to what we now well know will lead to – Armageddon.”

Insisting that “we are not the dung under the feet of Barack Obama,” Bresciani calls on conservatives to fight gay rights with the zeal of soldiers, adding that monkeys are more moral than gays: “Academics are assuring our children that they are the progeny of monkeys who are now on the cusp of conquering the stars. Yet, even the monkeys have not blurred gender distinctions nor do they indiscriminately destroy their young on a daily basis.”

Noting the backward slide into every prurient, perverted and libidinous behavior Americans can conger, is largely treated like scolding and rebuke rather than a call to return to the faith of our fathers.

This idea is now replaced with academically sanctioned dismissal of God, gay agenda indoctrination and mealy mouthed churches raising the white flag of apostasy and condescension. But not all!

Bill O’Reilley shrugs off the plunge into the gay “marriage” battle as social inevitability due to emergent acceptance of it into the fabric of our nation and yet, he still dares to refer to himself as a “culture warrior.”

Take a hint from your noble friends in the Wounded Warrior Project Bill - real warriors never give in or give up!

It will take a national revival to call God back to our side. First to forgive us, second to renew our commitment to righteousness and lastly to show our resolve to a world that is plunging in unison to what we now well know will lead to - Armageddon.

Academics are assuring our children that they are the progeny of monkeys who are now on the cusp of conquering the stars. Yet, even the monkeys have not blurred gender distinctions nor do they indiscriminately destroy their young on a daily basis. They exist without hoarding gold and silver or prepare for retirement. Is it time to tell the Darwinists that acting like monkeys is not proof of evolution?

Revival is a return to following only the voice of the Good Shepherd. We are not the children of O’Reilly; we are not the dung under the feet of Barack Obama and his horrible notion of ‘Change.’ We are not the dupes of indoctrination for academic fools who soothe themselves with tenure, turpitude and depravity masquerading as classical formal education.

Kevin Swanson Speculates That Kacey Musgraves Would Have Been Killed For 'Promoting Homosexuality' In The 1960s

Kevin Swanson is not happy that country singer Kacey Musgraves won album of the year at the 2014 ACM Awards, warning that the singer is pushing the destruction of America and causing demons to dance in its ashes.

Swanson said on his April 10 radio program that if Musgraves had performed her song “Follow Your Arrow” any time between the 1880s and the 1960s, it would have prompted calls for her to be killed: “Let me say this, if she had sang [sic] that thing in a country bar in the 1920s or 1880s in Denver, Colorado, somebody would’ve called for a rope, ‘Get a rope!’ You know what would have happened, she would not have made it out of town in the 1880s, 1920s, 1940s or 1960s.”

“But things have changed, friends,” he lamented.

The Religious Right talk show host later explained that Muscraves’ “promotion of homosexuality” is undermining America.

“When you can turn a once-Christian nation into Sodom, that’s when the demons do their celebration, their dance in the end zone,” he said. “So she’s got to promote homosexuality and she’s got to promote the abandonment of the traditional church in the same song. That’s critical for the dismantling of the Christian faith in the heartland.”

Rafael Cruz Falsely Claims San Antonio Banned Pastors From Preaching From The Bible

Speaking on a Tea Party Unity conference call last week, Rafael Cruz said that pastors in San Antonio can be fined for preaching from the Bible, a patently false claim but part of a larger Religious Right smear campaign against the city’s non-discrimination ordinance [PDF].

The ordinance added sexual orientation and gender identity to an existing city policy prohibiting discrimination, a move opposed by many Republicans, including Rafael Cruz’s son, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. The debate over the recently passed ordinance featured several over-the-top reactions, including a rant from a city councilwoman who called homosexuality “disgusting.”

While speaking on the call with extremist pastor and TPU founder Rick Scarborough, who introduced Ted Cruz at the 2012 Values Voter Summit, the elder Cruz claimed that pastors who preach Romans 1 — which some pastors interpret as a condemnation of homosexuality — can be fined $500 a day, a claim with no basis in reality.

“All we have to do is turn on the news and every day we see more and more encroachment upon pastors from this administration,” Cruz said. “All they have to do is be aware of what’s happening around us and to be aware, for example, that in the city of San Antonio, if a pastor speaks on Romans 1, he could be even fined $500 a day until he retracts what he said.”

Scarborough went on to warn that the “lesbian mayor of Houston” will impose a similar “sanctions [on pastors] if they preach the Bible.”

Cruz also suggested in the conference call that “wicked” people are currently in charge of the government: “We’ve stayed at home and we allowed the wicked to elect wicked politicians to rule us. We get what we deserve, Rick. We need to get up the charge that God is giving us and move to the forefront and call this nation to repentance and call this nation to righteousness.”

Cruz has previously alleged that Satan controls the US government.

Illinois Family Institute: Exposing 'Evil' Dan Savage Is Like Uncovering The Holocaust

Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute – the state affiliate of the American Family Association – is very unhappy about Dan Savage’s appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher last summer.

Two weeks ago, Higgins urged her group’s members to watch a video of Savage’s “repugnant” appearance on the show. Today, in response to criticism from a reader who was offended by the Savage/Maher video, Higgins offered a long essay titled “ Random Thoughts on the Rapacious Rainbow Revolution.”

Higgins explains in detail why she felt obligated to share the “loathsome” video because “many conservatives do not fully realize the evil nature of the enemy we fight” and “merely describing it does not adequately convey how profoundly wicked it is.” She compares her sharing of the Dan Savage video to the showing photos of Nazi concentration camps and lynchings.

“I am not equating the enormity of the evil of the Holocaust and the American genocide of pre-born babies to that of the homosexuality-affirming movement,” she clarifies. “I am, rather, illuminating the necessity of occasionally viewing the evil in our midst about which humans have a remarkable capacity to delude themselves.”

She adds that she feels she must expose the horrors that LGBT people await in the afterlife: “As Christians, however, we should remain conscious of the fact that a life of unrepentant homoerotic activity will result in eternal separation from God,” she writes. “How do we measure the magnitude of temporal suffering relative to that of eternal suffering?”

“Christians should consider whether appearing to affirm that which God abhors is pleasing to God,” she adds.

I received an email last week from a Christian who was upset that I published the loathsome video of Dan Savage even though I provided ample warning that the content was offensive. It seems appropriate, therefore, to revisit the reasons we occasionally publish either obscene hateful emails we receive, excerpts from offensive novels taught in our public schools, or video reminders of infamous homosexual "anti-bullying" bully, Dan Savage.

We do not expose the dark realities of this pernicious movement in order to be sensationalistic or titillating. We do it because Americans are inundated daily with images and words about homoeroticism intended to desensitize, sooth, and confuse. These words and images are built on a foundation of unarticulated and/or unexamined false assumptions and lies that are persuading even Christians that wrong is right.

Unfortunately, many conservatives do not fully realize the evil nature of the enemy we fight. And merely describing it does not adequately convey how profoundly wicked it is. Without a fuller apprehension of the nature and extent of the evil, many Christians are complacent and silent. Often it is only an encounter with such evil that generates a proper response from Christians.

Why view photos from Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen? Why view photos of lynchings? Why view photos of aborted babies? Why view the photo of the young napalmed Vietnamese girl? Why view photos of animals caught in steel leg traps or baby seals bludgeoned to death? Aren't these images shocking and obscene?

I am not equating the enormity of the evil of the Holocaust and the American genocide of pre-born babies to that of the homosexuality-affirming movement. I am, rather, illuminating the necessity of occasionally viewing the evil in our midst about which humans have a remarkable capacity to delude themselves.

As Christians, however, we should remain conscious of the fact that a life of unrepentant homoerotic activity will result in eternal separation from God. How do we measure the magnitude of temporal suffering relative to that of eternal suffering?

Well, here are some other ideas on which Christians should spend some time ruminating:

· Christians should consider whether appearing to affirm that which God abhors is pleasing to God.

· Christians should consider whether affirming or appearing to affirm homoerotic activity, which the Bible teaches will prevent entrance into Heaven, is a loving act.

What dupes and cowards Christians are. What poor servants of the one who was willing to die for us. While Christ died a humiliating and horrifying death for us, we're unwilling to endure any degree of discomfort for him. As we welcome each sophistical lie with a secret sigh of relief for being offered a rationalization to justify either our silence or capitulation, we facilitate evil. Those who experience unchosen same-sex attraction are not evil. They are sinners just like every other human-save one-who has ever existed. We all experience myriad powerful, persistent, unchosen feelings. Our task as moral beings is to figure out upon which of these feelings it is morally legitimate to act. Christians do no service to God, women, children, men, or their country when they refuse to speak the truth about homosexuality. Instead, we help push America into the historical abyss.

In a discussion yesterday on American Family Radio’s “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” Rios and anti-gay pastor Erwin Lutzer warned that marriage equality will turn American into the Soviet Union as children in public schools who embrace “sexual confusion” will become informants on their parents who will eventually be carted off by the government. Lutzer argued that with the rise of gay rights, children are “being indoctrinated in ways” equivalent to “Russia of years ago.” Because of this, “parents need to take that... MORE

American Family Association official Sandy Rios warned on her radio program yesterday that the Obama administration’s decision to light up the White House in rainbow colors in celebration of the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision was “an unbelievable affront to God” that will have “consequences.” According to Rios, God will lift His hand of protection from America in response to the court’s ruling and the celebratory rainbow images, thereby increasing the threat of terror attacks on the United States. The rainbow, she said, “was God... MORE

Writing in the far-right outlet BarbWire today, conservative pundit Sylvia Thompson says that people are getting ready to take to the “streets in civil disobedience” with “planned acts of resistance” just like during the days of the Civil Rights Movement, but this time it will be the “victims of homofascism” marching in “opposition to homosexual sham ‘marriages.’” Most Americans, Thompson hopes, will not “bow to homofascism,” even as “more and more Americans will be persecuted, prosecuted, and imprisoned as this... UPDATE: We've posted some video clips of the press conference's highlights. The mood was apparently apoplectic at a press conference held by gay-rights opponents in front of the Alabama state judicial building yesterday, as one Republican state official called the U.S. Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision “an assault on God, on Christian heritage and on our culture” and warned that the “runaway judiciary is a bigger threat to the United States than ISIS” and “liberal judges have done [more] harm to our country and our Constitution than Al... The Religious Right’s fear-mongering of impending anti-Christian persecution in the wake of the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision reached a crescendo last night with a fundraising email from the Family Research Council warning that President Obama plans to “eliminate” Christianity and demanding contributions “before it is literally too late.” “[S]ame-sex ‘marriage’ is not the ultimate issue,” FRC President Tony Perkins warns in the email, “it is a stepping-stone. The real issue is the Obama administration's dogged... MORE

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson, who acknowledged on Friday that the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling is “the law of the land,” seems to be retooling his position, telling Iowa talk radio host Simon Conway later in the very same day that Congress could pass a “creative” law to “negate” the court’s decision. When Conway asked Carson if he thought the decision was “a done deal,” Carson replied that it was not. “I hope it will be revisited because the reason that we have separation of powers is to prevent... Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is furious at the Supreme Court for its rulings last week rejecting a challenge to the Affordable Care Act and knocking down same-sex marriage bans around the nation. In an interview with Iowa conservative radio host Simon Conway on Friday, Jindal repeated his suggestion that “we just get rid of the Supreme Court,” adding that the “upcoming assault on religious liberty” that he has been warning about “is here.” “So the Supreme Court’s basically saying words have no meaning, we don’t have to follow the...
