Florida Family Association Belatedly Calls on Marvel to Pull X-Men Comic including Same-Sex Marriage

X-Men #51, issued by Marvel Comics last month, gained immediate attention as it centered on a wedding between Northstar and his boyfriend. Northstar came out as gay in 1992, but for the anti-gay Florida Family Association, his marriage to his long-term boyfriend “has crossed the line by attempting to legitimize same-sex marriage and asking kids to fantasize about their own homosexual wedding.” The group is urging members “who do not want their children targeted with immoral propaganda through comics” to email Marvel Comics to pull the X-Men #51. Earlier, the American Family Association’s subgroup OneMilionMoms blasted Marvel for trying to “desensitize and brainwash” children with the comic and the Religious Right magazine Charisma wondered if “the rise of gay superheroes” is “just another example of the spirit of immorality waging war on young souls.”

Marvel’s X-Men #51 comic issue has crossed the line by attempting to legitimize same-sex marriage and asking kids to fantasize about their own homosexual wedding.

It is shameful that two companies like Marvel and Disney would deliberately create a superhero homosexual wedding for our children to embrace and mimic.

PLEASE have more respect for the overwhelming majority of families who do not want their children targeted with immoral propaganda through comics.

My family and I urge your company to pull X-Men #51 from distribution.

Gaffney: Obama Advancing Sharia Law and the 'Radical Homosexual Agenda' in the Military

Frank Gaffney is out with another extremist anti-gay and anti-Muslim rant, writing in the Washington Times today that President Obama intends to ruin the military. He said that Obama is intentionally “losing wars” and trying to “throw in the towel,” which will be “a formula for disaster,” while at the same time make the military submit to the “doctrine of Shariah” and become “a vehicle for advancing the radical homosexual agenda.” Obama’s policies will precipitate “the collapse of the all-volunteer force, as many of those who are serving decline to do so and fewer and fewer new, high-quality recruits enlist,” Gaffney concludes:

Unfortunately, under President Obama, service members’ rising fears of being prosecuted for acting to protect themselves and their missions are among many ways in which the military is being “fundamentally transformed,” to use Mr. Obama’s now-infamous turn of phrase. Consider a few examples:

Losing wars: Few things can have a more corrosive effect on the morale and esprit de corps of the armed forces than being ordered to participate in and sacrifice - not least by risking life and limb - in protracted conflicts, only to have political authorities throw in the towel. Add in the repeated combat tours pulled by many service members, with all that entails for both them and their families, and you have a formula for disaster for the U.S. military.

Worse yet, our troops are seen by the enemy in these and other ways to be submitting to the latter’s doctrine of Shariah. According to that supremacist code, its adherents are compelled, when confronted with evidence they are winning, to redouble their efforts to make us feel subdued. This generally translates into more violence against our troops and us, not less.

Assault on the culture of the military: Last, but not least, President Obama’s use of the military as a vehicle for advancing the radical homosexual agenda in the larger society has demonstrated for many in uniform civilian indifference to the unique attributes of the armed forces. That message can only have been reinforced by the Supreme Court’s ruling allowing fraudulent claims to military decorations as protected free speech.

Unfortunately, these sorts of assaults on the U.S. military are likely to “fundamentally transform” it, all right. Perhaps that transformation will manifest itself, among other ways, by precipitating the collapse of the all-volunteer force, as many of those who are serving decline to do so and fewer and fewer new, high-quality recruits enlist. We can ill afford such an Obama legacy in an increasingly dangerous world.

AFA Floats Google Boycott over Campaign to Decriminalize Homosexuality

Google announced a new international campaign called Legalize Love “to decriminalize homosexuality and eliminate homophobia around the world,” and of course, the American Family Association is now weighing a boycott of Google products since the organization is already “boycotting efforts similar to this with other businesses,” like Home Depot and Oreo cookies. Buster Wilson, the general manager of the AFA’s radio network, said on AFA Today that a Google boycott “is going to be a hard one for a lot of us” but will “test the meat of our convictions.”

Watch:

If the AFA goes ahead with its Google boycott, the group will also have to boycott Google’s rival Microsoft as the company recently endorsed marriage equality.

Janet Mefferd Warns Listeners They Might Vomit from Story about Anderson Cooper Coming Out

On her radio show Tuesday, Janet Mefferd warned listeners who tuned in that they might vomit like a sick child with a stomach ache over the story they were about to hear…about Anderson Cooper coming out of the closet. While Mefferd noted that Cooper’s sexual orientation was no real secret, she was most upset about an article by Baptist minister and Huffington Post Religious Editor Paul Brandeis Raushenbush’s reflecting on Cooper’s statement that “the ability to love another person is one of God's greatest gifts, and I thank God every day for enabling me to give and share love with the people in my life.”

After spending time quoting from Raushenbush’s column, she warned that greater acceptance of “neo-pagan” homosexuality will ultimately lead to the de-stigmatization of pedophilia and a return to the sexual mores of Ancient Rome, cautioning that “Jerry Sandusky thirty years from now may be a normal thing.” “You already have pedophiles who are trying to be normalized at the American Psychological Association, I think that’s the name of it, they’ve succeeded in having homosexuality removed from the playbook as some sort of disorder,” Mefferd said, “and now they’re working on pedophilia and I’m sure they’ll be successful because that’s where it is all headed.”

She concluded by telling Cooper that he “did receive from God an ability to love, but not that kind of love,” which she claims is a “a lie from the pit” of Hell:

I don’t know about you, when your kids are sick like mine sometimes are and they’ll come down in the middle of the night, ‘mommy I have a stomach ache,’ I always give them the same words of advice, ‘get a bucket, put a little bit of water in it and put it next to your bed and that way if that upset stomach does what it might do, you’ll be prepared.’ So in that vein I would like to give you the same advice, given what I’m about to talk about you might want to get yourself a bucket with a little water in it and that way if you feel a little sick and it manifests itself in a physical way you’ll be prepared. I wasn’t going to even talk about this but I can’t resist because this has got to be the neo-pagan story of the day. Did you know—I know this isn’t going to be a shock to you—Anderson Cooper is gay. I know, what a shock, I’m reeling from this news, I had no idea, yes I’m being sarcastic. But there is something very funny about this because Paul Brandeis Raushenbush over at the Huffington Post has a headline on his story about Anderson Cooper, the CNN anchor, announcing that he is gay and it says “Fact is.. Anderson Cooper Thanks God He’s Gay.”

If this were pagan, Ancient Rome, Jerry Sandusky wouldn’t have been in trouble at all because homosexuality and man-boy love was so common and so accepted that outrage would’ve been inconceivable. It is only the vestiges of Christianity in our culture that give people the moral framework by which you can look at a Sandusky and feel revolted. And you know what the way we are going, Jerry Sandusky thirty years from now may be a normal thing. You already have pedophiles who are trying to be normalized at the American Psychological Association, I think that’s the name of it, they’ve succeeded in having homosexuality removed from the playbook as some sort of disorder and now they’re working on pedophilia and I’m sure they’ll be successful because that’s where it is all headed.

Anderson Cooper did receive from God an ability to love, but not that kind of love. That’s not love, it’s not love. All you need to do is go back to Romans Chapter 1. This is an absolute pagan expression that has twisted love beyond recognition and turned it into something that is not God’s design at all. This is a lie from the pit, and we must oppose it. And unfortunately, we have so-called evangelicals getting on this train to nowhere.

Lou Engle's Prophesy of Thousands of AIDS-Curing Ex-Gay Preachers

Lou Engle is redoubling his efforts at building a prayer movement to stop the “homosexual tornado” before it destroys America, and told members of The Ramp, an anti-gay youth ministry, that he had dreams of 100,000 gays and lesbians becoming part of a “first wave” of ex-gay preachers who will bring about “radical salvations and healings of AIDS.” He led a prayer for “asking God to loose a movement, a divine breakthrough, 100,000 gay and lesbian men and women, loose a sound that DC can’t contend with, loose a sound that the media can’t contend with, overflow the media with the sound of revival.”

Save California: Bill Limiting Ex-Gay Therapy is 'Locking Children into Homosexual Bondage'

After the California State Senate and an Assembly committee approved a bill placing limits on sexual orientation conversion therapy, the right-wing group Save California is framing the legislation as an attack on victims of child abuse. Relying on the discredited claim that homosexuality is a result of molestation, Save California is urging members to contact legislators to stop “this horrible bill locking children into homosexual bondage” that will prohibit counseling for those “who have often been molested or raped.” “What lack of love for children suffering from gender confusion disorder, who’ve often been molested and become confused as a result,” the group maintains, including an image stating: “Democrat politicians to molested kids: No help for you.” Led by the virulently anti-gay activist Randy Thomasson, Save California also recently launched a new page, “Not Born This Way” to expose the supposed “myths” about homosexuality.

UPDATE: SB 1172, the Democrats' tyrannical bill banning gender-confusion counseling for minors was skipped over during Monday's floor session of the California State Assembly. But this horrible bill locking children into homosexual bondage could still pass on Thursday, July 5, so it's important that you take a couple minutes right now to oppose it. Leave a recorded message or send an email to your assemblymember.

SB 1172, which has already passed the Senate, would:

1. Ban California parents from seeking counseling for their son or daughter who falsely think they are "homosexual"

2. Penalize licensed counselors who care enough to counsel these gender-confused children, who have often been molested or raped

SB 1172 reads, "Under no circumstances shall a mental health provider engage in sexual orientation change efforts with a patient under 18 years of age, regardless of the willingness of a patient, patient's parent, guardian, conservator, or other person to authorize such efforts."

What an attack on parental rights and on mental health professionals! And what lack of love for children suffering from gender confusion disorder, who've often been molested and become confused as a result. The Democrats pushing this bill on behalf of homosexual activists want to lock children into thinking they are "homosexual," when these kids' gender confusion often results from an attack by a sexual perpetrator.

Eliason and LaBarbera on Anderson Cooper: 'So Much for CNN'

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality yesterday appeared on VCY America’s Crosstalk, where he joined Vic Eliason in railing against the supposed “LGBT Tidal Wave” in America. LaBarbera, who earlier tweeted that out CNN anchor Anderson Cooper should stop reporting on LGBT issues, doubled down while speaking to Eliason and a caller, arguing that “his reporting was extremely pro-homosexually biased” and “he shouldn’t be reporting on these homosexuality cases because he’s proven obviously that he is more of a gay activist than an actual reporter.” “So much for CNN,” Eliason lamented.

Listen:

Caller: We just had another person this morning came out saying he’s gay, Anderson Cooper.

Eliason: He came out? This morning? Well that was no secret.

LaBarbera: And Vic, Anderson Cooper was touted by the homosexuals in their magazines, everybody said he was a homosexual, his reporting was extremely pro-homosexually biased. I think he shouldn’t be reporting on these homosexuality cases because he’s proven obviously that he is more of a gay activist than an actual reporter.

Eliason: Well, so much for CNN.

The two anti-gay activists also went on to decry the presence of police officers at gay pride parades, as LaBarbera claimed that “the police have become the protectors of homosexuality.” He also insisted that such parades are “inappropriate for children” but “the gay family movement is foisting innocence children, forcing innocent children to be exposed to this filth.”

LaBarbera: What other area would you find a parade in which children are all over the place, you know parents are bringing children, and there is this incredibly X-rated homosexual stuff going on, what other area in our society would you find it?

Eliason: And it goes on, I remember some years ago in the city of Milwaukee when they had the gay pride parade and at that time they found sympathy in the chief of police and he assigned the marching band, the police band, to lead the parade down Wisconsin Ave.

LaBarbera: Right, the cops are always at these parades now so the police have become the protectors of homosexuality. Vic, in Chicago here’s another example, in the Chicago parade there was one guy walking down the street, he was Captain Bisexual. There is a Bisexual Flag, as there is a sadomasochism flag by the way, in case you didn’t know, and so Captain Bisexual was waving a big banner that said “Bisexual Justice.” Now has a parent supposed to explain that to a child watching? He sees somebody who looks like a cartoon figure hawking bisexuality. These parades are inappropriate for children. The gay family movement is foisting innocence children, forcing innocent children to be exposed to this filth.

After warning that gay rights will lead to bestiality and the collapse of the United States, Eliason gave Right Wing Watch a shout out and said their appearances on RWW should be considered a “badge of courage”:

Pastor: Gays want to Legalize Jerry Sandusky, We Must Revert to Biblical Law

Generations with Vision Ministry’s Kevin Swanson, who last month claimed that gay parents are one of the “most devastating things” in the “history of mankind,” on his radio show yesterday portrayed the scandal at Penn State University as a portent of an imminent doom to befall all of western civilization. He also suggested that gays encourage pedophilia, calling it “part and parcel of the homosexual vision,” and advocated for a complete transition to biblical law. More specifically, a reversion to the law practiced in the time of the pilgrims, where ‘homosexual acts’ were punishable by death.

Even Christopher Marlowe and Shakespeare, to some extent, had some writings that were somewhat favorable of homosexuality. Now, homosexuality had not existed for about 1,000 years, between about 300 AD to 1400-1500 AD where certain mentions of it were extant in some of the classical literature of the day, because classical literature tends to bring back homosexuality as the ‘cool thing’, but it hadn’t existed for about 1,000 years. It was, obviously, very very important to humanism, it always has been important to humanism, and whenever you get a humanist, classical approach to education, you’re probably going to get the gymnasium. The gymnasiums were all built around the idea of pederasty and pedophilia.

Now, I don’t want to get into a lot of the details on this, because it’s very very very gross, but they trained young boys in homosexuality. This is part and parcel of the homosexual vision, still is, by the way, to this day. This is the goal, this is where they’re headed, if you read the homosexual literature, which I encourage you not to do, but this is the direction that they’re headed. This is the goal of humanism. The goal of humanism is to make it to Sandusky. The problem is Sandusky was prosecuted and that’s an indication that we’ve got 2,000 years of Christianity, and these guys are not going to get away with it.

You know, Dave, I think if we’re going to have a halfway decent, stable society, much like what the pilgrims had, with a divorce rate of .01%, fornication rate of 1%, and a homosexuality rate of .0005%, if we’re going to have a stable society, we’re going to have to get back to biblical law.

Tony Perkins Blasts General Mills for Opposing Anti-Gay Amendment

General Mills was immediately attacked when it announced its opposition to a proposed amendment in Minnesota, where the company is based, that would enshrine the state’s ban on same-sex marriage in its constitution. National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown called the move “ludicrous” and claimed that the company “effectively declared a war on marriage” and Minnesota for Marriage began holding protests to “Dump General Mills.” Today, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council weighed in during his daily radio bulletin by attacking the cereal company for becoming a “general nuisance”:

Perkins: In the marriage debate, General Mills just became a general nuisance. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. One of America's largest food companies has an appetite for liberal politics. Five months before voters head to the polls, General Mills decided to weigh in on Minnesota's marriage amendment. Like Starbucks, the company tried to argue that marriage is bad for business--a theory that's absolutely ridiculous. Forbes magazine did a feature on the "best states for business"--and 18 of the top 20 protect natural marriage. Still, a spokesman says, "We don't believe the proposed constitutional amendment is in the best interests of our employees or our state economy... We oppose it." Experts say it's a "very risky" position--especially since General Mills makes billions of dollars marketing brands to parents of kids--like Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Yoplait, Cheerios, Chex, Wheaties, and Lucky Charms. It may impress their corporate friends, but it's customers that count.

Harvey: Honoring LGBT Pride at the Pentagon is a 'Sad Time for the United States'

Tomorrow, the Pentagon will hold its first ever event honoring LGBT pride month and Linda Harvey is predictably outraged, calling it " yet another low level of ungodliness" reached by the Obama administration and a "sad, sad time for the United States":

The America that we have known and loved is sinking fast, friends. Yet another low level of ungodliness has been reached by the current leadership in Washington. For the first time in history, the Pentagon is observing so-called "gay pride" during the month of June. It's a first because until last year, open homosexual behavior and identity were still prohibited by our armed forces, but not any longer. It's gone from a reason for disgrace to an alleged reason for pride. Well, only one of those two positions is correct in God's eyes and it's not the one honoring sexual deviance. This is a sad, sad time for the United States.

Truth in Action Ministries Lists Glee Kiss alongside 'Evils' like September 11, Hitler

Truth in Action Ministries has released yet another short film chronicling America’s supposed moral decline and spiritual collapse. In Losing Liberty, hosts Jerry Newcombe and Jennifer Kennedy Cassidy, daughter of late televangelist D. James Kennedy, insisted that America is a “Christian nation” but that secularists are “working day and night to unmoor of us from our Christian foundations.” According to the film, America is turning into a dystopian society much like The Hunger Games, the trilogy about a dictatorial regime which forces children to fight to the death each year. “One can’t help but wonder, will our future will be similar if our nation continues in the direction we are headed,” Carmen Pate asks.

After activist Dee Wampler insisted that America was much better off in the 1950s and 1960s, South African evangelist Peter Hammond said there is a “secular humanist assault on our Christian heritage” that is leading to tyranny. “It’s the Christian foundation of our foundation that brought us freedom,” said John Rabe, who hosts the organization’s radio show Truth that Transforms alongside Pate, “to turn away from that would take what’s already disastrous and make it infinitely worse.”

As Hammond discussed “everything that is evil in this world,” the film displayed images of the September 11 attacks, bombings, drug abuse, Adolf Hitler…and a married lesbian couple and the kiss between characters Kurt and Blaine on Glee!

Much like American Religious Right activists who reminisce about the 1950s, when much of the country had legal segregation, Hammond asserted that the 1994 election in South Africa, the first free election following the fall of Apartheid, demonstrated the “disastrous” impact of “evangelical apathy.”

Evangelicals “refused to vote because they didn’t like what was happening in our country at that time,” Hammond said, “all that happened is less Christian candidates got elected and more anti-Christian candidates got elected, and the country got more anti-Christian and soon they legalized abortion and pornography, homosexuality and before we knew it we had desecration of Sundays to a massive increase of crime.” He then went on to blame the Obama administration for having “encouraged” anti-Christian persecution and violence abroad.

FRC's Maginnis: Gay Pride Month in Military Leads to 'Dysfunction' and 'Undermines Morale'

Bob Maginnis of the Family Research Council spoke to Lee Webb of CBN News this week about the Defense Department’s decision to recognize June as Gay Pride Month, warning that it is part of a plan by gays and lesbians “to advance their radical agenda.” The FRC senior fellow began the interview by falsely claiming that a Pentagon survey “found that there would be many that would leave and some that would reconsider” if Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is repealed, however, the survey actually noted that very few service members would consider leaving the military and an Army Times survey following the policy’s repeal found that number to be even lower. Maginnis went on to claim that “if homosexuals want to parade their homosexuality as their defining characteristic of who they are rather than that they’re a soldier or sailor” it would lead to “dysfunction” and undermine “cohesion, trust” and “morale” by upsetting those who believe gays are “not pleasing to God.”

Watch:

Webb: Is it your prediction that many in the service, not just chaplains but those who are religiously opposed, morally opposed to homosexual behavior will be leaving the ranks soon because of this?

Maginnis: Certainly the survey that the Pentagon did found that there would be many that would leave and some that would reconsider. A lot depends upon what the homosexual community does within the ranks of the military, are they going to use this to advance their radical agenda or are they going to be quiet about it and blend in? Keep in mind, the military is about removing distinctions among people, we works as teams, we try to accomplish things as crews and units and not as individuals. Unfortunately, if you stick out, if you make your particular behavior or profile to be an anomaly in a unit, whether it be homosexual or anything, you’re really not a team member, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Webb: In keep with what you just said, it seems like they are not willing to be part of a unit if they are seeking recognition through a Gay Pride Month, is that the way you’re seeing this?

Maginnis: I am concerned about the conformity to military standards because after all the military is about removing those distinctions, fighting and being prepared to fight across the world as one type of unit. If homosexuals want to parade their homosexuality as their defining characteristic of who they are rather than that they’re a soldier or sailor, then that’s dysfunction. It undermines cohesion, trust and confidence; it undermines morale. Of course, for those in the military that are people of faith, it also runs contrary to that very faith. I am very concerned about the promotion of homosexual marriage, about the removal of the idea that heterosexuals and homosexuals are different, well in fact they are and those of us of faith have reason to believe that those distinctions are not pleasing to God.

Pastor: Gay Parents one of the 'Most Devastating Things' in the 'History of Mankind'

Kevin Swanson of Generations with Vision Ministry this week on his radio show hailed the roundly criticized Mark Regnerus study on gay parenting, but warned that the purportedly harmful effects of same-sex parents are still unknown. After maligning other studies that didn’t observe significant differences between the children of same-sex and opposite-sex couples with cohost Dave Buehner and making a comparison between studies of gay parents with studies of suicide bombers, Swanson declared that the “generational outcome of kids raised in homosexual families” will be “mind-blowing” and “one of the most devastating things we have ever seen in the history of mankind”:

Swanson: They were saying ‘hey all the studies today pointed out that there is no real difference between children raised in homosexual families and those raised by the average nuclear family out there,’ now what [Mark] Regnerus was saying is that apparently these other studies are looking at whether or not these young people grow up to accept the homosexual lifestyle themselves. So of course the measures tend to feed those who wanted to see that the outcome was good, in other words, the studies are going to be relative to what the studies perceive to be the good, a good outcome. A good outcome is going to be something that is going to be worldview oriented and oriented to the people that are doing the studies.

Buehner: So what you’re saying is, let’s say you were a Palestinian parent and you were raising your child to be a good Palestinian, that would be a child who puts on the suicide vest.

Swanson: Right, and blows up other people in mosques and supermarkets.

Buehner: That would be more measurable to be a good parent.

Swanson: Right, that would be the measure. So if you take a sample size of thirty and twenty-five grow up to put on suicide vests and blow up other people, then that would be a successful story, that would mean these young people grew up very balanced and ready for life. Well the same thing applies of course when you’re doing studies in universities concerning homosexual parenting. According to this guy, apparently he took forty measures of social and emotional relationship outcomes and found out there were substantial differences.

Another thing I think we’re going to find is we don’t have much data yet, he only had a sample size of something like seventy-three adults raised by gay fathers, so that’s not very many, that’s not a big sample size and chances are they are young adults. In fact, they were young adults. Apparently he looked at these young adults that had been raised, 3,000 randomly selected American young adults, probably not quite time yet to determine what the future of these people really looks like.

The generational outcome of kids raised in homosexual families I think is just going to be just mind-blowing. We’re not going to know how many suicides; we’re not going to know how messed up and trashed up these families are, these young people are, as they try to form their own families. Generation by generation by generation you know—you know—that these dysfunctional families that are not proper, traditional families, are going to be more and more dysfunctional as you get into later generations.

Now you’re probably not going to discover this at twenty-four years of age, but when these people turn thirty-six, when they turn forty-eight, when they turn fifty-seven, you’re going to see over the generations that what we’ve done in experimenting with kids, allowing them to be raised in these homosexual families is going to be one of the most devastating things we have ever seen in the history of mankind.

Harvey: 'Protect Our Kids' from Gay Parents

Joining other anti-gay activists in embracing a debunked study about the children of gay and lesbian parents, Linda Harvey of Mission America today warned that families led by same-sex couples represent “a picture of dysfunction.” Harvey, who this week in a WorldNetDaily column lamented that society is allowing “sexual deviance to be exalted,” urged listeners to “protect our kids” from gays who “insist on modeling their sexual immorality to their children” and expose “kids to serious kids”:

Harvey: Friends, this is a picture of dysfunction where the next generation is not simply disadvantaged by adults who insist on modeling their sexual immorality to their children, it’s also a picture of exposing kids to serious risks. We already knew this, of course, and now the picture is backed up by detailed facts. People of conscience need to continue to stand up against attempts to call homosexuality the same as committed male-female marriage. It’s not and it never will be. People who are drawn to homosexuality do not need to stay there, there’s no reliable evidence that these attractions are inborn and we know that starting with the word of God. Now we have verification of the truth about the outcomes of these relationships. Let’s protect our kids and educate all our family and friends.

Jim Daly Claims Satan is Behind Push for Same-Sex Marriage

Focus on the Family president Jim Daly hosted Al Mohler, the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Focus on the Family board member, to discuss same-sex marriage and its supposed threat to religious freedom. Daly claimed that Satan himself is promoting same-sex marriage since “he hates marriage because it’s a reflection of God’s image.” “The Enemy hates that, it’s disgusting to him,” Daly said, “and with that, he wants to break it down, he wants to destroy it.” Later, Mohler maintained that “same-sex marriage is going to be the greatest challenge to religious liberty in our lifetimes” and will replace religious liberty with a more limited freedom of worship:

Daly: When you look at human sexuality, someone suggested to me the other day, they said, if you think about it, the Enemy of our soul, yes we refer to this entity as Satan, that he hates marriage because it’s a reflection of God’s image. In other words, in the Scripture it talks about us being made in God’s image, male and female, and when we come together in lifelong commitment to marriage we become one flesh, that the Enemy hates that, it’s disgusting to him and with that, he wants to break it down, he wants to destroy it.

Mohler: There’s no doubt that religious liberty is now very much on the line. As a matter of fact, same-sex marriage is going to be the greatest challenge to religious liberty in our lifetimes, and both sides on the controversy know it. You can look at the papers, the law articles, the kinds of things that are already on both sides of the argument. There’s a fundamental, shared understanding that this is going to be the big issue. You mentioned Christians running bed and breakfasts, Christians in any kind of employment situation or public services, photographers for weddings and frankly even churches are going to be very much on the line because what we’ve seen in recent political decisions is that religious liberty is really being reduced, and listen very carefully to what people are saying, is a freedom of worship. Religious liberty means much more than freedom of worship.

Vic Eliason, Citing YouTube Commenters, Suggests Obama Is Gay

Last month, we reported on Family Research Institute chairman Paul Cameron’s appearance on Voice of Christian Youth America’s flagship show Crosstalk, where he suggested that President Obama might be gay after he endorsed marriage equality. On Monday, Crosstalk host and VCY America founder Vic Eliason doubled down on the accusation, citing reports “on YouTube of people who claimed to have engaged in this type of behavior with the President of the United States.” While criticizing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s Gay Pride Month message, Eliason warned that rights for gays and lesbians will ultimately lead to the acceptance of cannibals, grave robbers, pedophiles and people who practice bestiality. Eliason, fearing that “the moral fabric of our country” is “literally in flames,” goes on to insinuate that Obama might be gay based on videos he found on YouTube:

[Panetta] said this, “We are people with different values.” We’ll let’s talk about different values. When I came to Wisconsin way back in the 50’s, there was a story running around about a guy named Ed Gein who was a grave robber and his values meant that he would rob graves and corpses and the things that came out of the—well I don’t want to go further into that story—except it was you know it was his values after all. I mean what’s wrong with having values like that? Then some years ago ten blocks up the street from where we’re sitting right now was Jeffrey Dahmer, whose values were along the same line homosexuality but in addition to that, literally the cannibalizing and killing of human beings, dismembering their bodies and all kinds of weird stuff. But that after all we have diversity, right? We have different values.

Then of course we have people who have different values even in different venues. There are those whose values mean it’s very desirable and their own desire to molest children. We call them pedophiles. Because it’s a moral behavior or immoral behavior if properly defined. Its molestation but that happens to be their set of values and how dare we say anything about that. And then of course I don’t go from the sublime to the ridiculous here, but bestiality. Bestiality!

I mean this this is vile behavior. God says this stuff is an abomination and is sin, but of course if we no longer have a moral compass and we no longer have a God, we have a whole bunch of them and we can sit here and look at leadership, the highest leadership now in our country, that has literally voted for and has the legend has it the allegations has it that in his previous history, there are reports out even on YouTube of people who claimed to have engaged in this type of behavior with the President of the United States. These are allegations but they are out there.

When I when I think of what is happening here folks, when I see the moral fabric of our country literally in flames; how do you define morality? I mentioned the allegations that had been circulating about the past of even our President. And again, those are allegations out there. You can even go to YouTube and there are videos of those who have claimed to engage with certain.

Elaine Donnelly: Gays 'Make Other People Feel Like They are Not Welcome' in the Military

The failure of her alarming predictions about the consequences of repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell to materialize hasn’t stopped Elaine Donnelly of the Center for Military Readiness from railing against gay rights in the military, and now Donnelly is taking Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to task for delivering an “entirely inappropriate” Gay Pride Month message to service members. Donnelly, who supports the ban on gays in the military, accused the LGBT community of trying to “make other people feel like they are not welcome” in an interview yesterday with Janet Parshall. She said that Panetta’s message was part of a ploy by “LGBT activist groups” to “intimidate other people,” and Parshall lamented that she’s “never heard of a Heterosexual Month and they make up ninety-seven percent of the military.”

Parshall: We’ve got Leon Panetta, ‘June is called Gay Pride Month,’ and Leon Panetta in the Department of Defense is heralding gays in the military. Wow, I really would love to look into a crystal ball and see what we’re going to have in terms of numbers going down the road.

Donnelly: This is entirely inappropriate because the Secretary of Defense is treating a tiny minority of people in the military who are now allowed to be open, even though previously they were not even eligible to be in the armed forces, to have an event like this, which we predicted by the way. We predicted this a long time ago; this is a manifestation of LGBT law in the military. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender policies and celebrations in the armed forces, this is all part of it.

Parshall: Leon Panetta celebrating in so-called Gay Pride Month that which makes up less than three percent, to the best of my knowledge, I’ve never heard of a Heterosexual Month and they make up ninety-seven percent of the military.

Donnelly: Right. What happened to the notion, ‘we just want to serve in the military, we just want to be quiet and modest and discreet, just like everyone else’? What happened to that? Well of course that was all phony because the LGBT activist groups know exactly how to intimidate other people, make other people feel they are not welcome, their views are not welcome, and name calling occurs quite a bit. That’s pretty much part of the pattern and it’s one of the reasons why the 1993 law regarding gays in the military should have been retained.

Engle: 'The Homosexual Agenda Can Be Broken' or the Judgment of God 'Brings us to Rubble'

Preaching at The Call: Virginia last month, Lou Engle insisted that “the homosexual agenda can be broken.” If not, he warned, America may be doomed. Engle, who promoted the prayer rally by calling on attendees to channel Confederate generals to “restrain” the demonic powers behind the “homosexual agenda,” said that they can succeed “not because of our boastfulness or our greatness, but because of our repentance, because of a great revival and maybe even a great shaking and judgment that brings us to rubble so we finally get desperate enough to return to the Lord.”

Linda Harvey Dubs Same-Sex Relationships 'Pathetic' and 'Lifeless'

Mission America’s Linda Harvey almost always dedicates her radio show to denouncing the gay community, and Saturday’s program was no different as she blasted gay parents as “pathetic” and selfish for not raising children with two parents of the opposite sex. Later in the program, she insisted that gays and lesbians can have the freedom to marry if they would only join her “ex-homosexual” friends who have “grabbed onto that freedom to marry, at least in theory.” Otherwise, Harvey laments that they will be stuck in “lifeless” relationships:

Yes people can love kids but a lot of times these—I would say the vast majority of the time—these homosexual-headed households as being featured in the JC Penney ads or the Gap billboard ads for Father’s Day, they are thinking about themselves much more than they are the kids. If they thought about the kids they would know that this child would grow up with an ache and a hole in their heart for mom if it’s two dads heading the households; if it’s two moms, they will grow up with an ache and a hole in their heart, aching to know their father. It’s just pathetic when adults construct something that is so adult-centered and just neglects the purposes of the child and of marriage.

Friends educate everyone you know out there with the truth: they have the freedom to marry. Every ex-homosexual I know has grabbed onto that freedom to marry, at least in theory, some of them are not married but many of them now are married to someone of the opposite sex because that is marriage. A homosexual marriage can never be consummated, number one, the anatomy doesn’t work. Big clue, people who love each other homosexually or believe they do, can never create under any scenario their own child together, there is no life in that relationship. In case we are being very dense and people are being very dense about this, we humans tend to be dense about things anyway but this is one more way, it’s a big clue: it is a lifeless relationship.

Dwight McKissic Calls on SBC to Condemn Obama for Backing Marriage Equality, Likens Move to September 11th and Hurricane Katrina

Southern Baptist preacher Dwight McKissic, who has described the gay rights movement as “satanic” and even asserted that the Antichrist will be gay, was so distraught over President Obama’s endorsement of marriage equality that he likened it to the September 11 terrorist attacks and Hurricane Katrina:

President Obama has betrayed the Bible and the Black Church with his endorsement of same-sex marriage. The Bible is crystal clear on this subject, and the Black Church strongly opposes same-sex marriage. His endorsement is an inadvertent attack on the Christian Faith. America is now a candidate for the same judgment received by Sodom and Gomorrah. This was a sad, sad day and a very bad decision, by our beloved President. The moral impact of this day and decision is equal to the military impact of AL-Queda [sic] when they attacked the Twin Towers on 911. Today’s announcement is a moral earthquake equivalent to a tsunami or hurricane that will have far more devastating results than Katrina.

This means that parents are now going to have an extremely difficult time teaching their children that marriage biblically and traditionally is between a man and a woman, when the President that many love and admire is now on record endorsing sodomy. This is painful and shameful. The Black Church should galvanize, mobilize and address this matter with the same (if not greater) intensity, velocity and resolve as we did the Civil Rights Movement. If we don’t, our children and grandchildren will pay a far greater price in suffering from a governmental sanction of same-sex marriage than we would have under segregation.

Now, McKissic is calling on the Southern Baptist Convention to condemn President Obama’s support for marriage equality and the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell:

Whereas, the Southern Baptist Convention previously recognized, “Redefining the concept and legality of marriage to mean anything other than the union between one man and one woman would fundamentally undermine the historic and biblical foundation of a healthy society (Genesis 1:28; 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6),” and “equating same-sex relationships with heterosexual marriage would create a host of religious liberty and freedom of conscience conflicts; now, therefore, be it” (SBC Resolution “On Protecting The Defense Of Marriage Act (doma),” June 2011),

Whereas the sitting President of the United States previously formally certified a repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, allowing for public recognition of homosexual persons in the military, instead of honoring Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice which precludes homosexual behavior among active service personnel,

Whereas the President now has publically voiced his personal support of same-sex civil unions, and that the legal approval of such unions is a matter for each individual state of our country to decide,

Resolved that we affirm that pastors should preach the truth of God’s word on marriage, homosexual behavior, purity, and love with all boldness and without fear of reprisal, and be it further,

Resolved that we proclaim that Christ offers forgiveness for homosexual behavior for those who turn from their homosexuality and believe on Christ for the forgiveness of sin.

Last week’s decision by Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich to step down amid a storm of criticism about his contribution to the campaign to repeal marriage equality in California has caused many anti-gay pundits to reach deep into their stores of hyperbole, comparing the gay rights movement to Nazis, terrorists, communists, the KKK and the Taliban . Jeff Allen, the senior editor of Matt Barber’s BarbWire website, continues the trend today with a column accusing “Al-‘Gay’Da and Lezbollah terrorist networks” and the “homosexual Taliban” of enforcing... The editor-in-chief of Herman Cain’s Best of Cain website, formerly CainTV, is the latest right-wing activist to pounce on the controversy surrounding Mozilla’s CEO, who stepped down due to an outcry over his donation to the campaign to repeal marriage equality in California. Dan Calabrese writes on Cain’s site today that gay rights advocates and websites like OKCupid -- which advised its members not to use Firefox (but despite some reports did not block the browser) -- are promoting fascism and Bolshevism while acting just like The Borg of Star Trek. “This... Mission America head Linda Harvey dismissed concerns over homelessness in the LGBT community today, saying they are misplaced and blaming homeless LGBT youth for the problem. Harvey explained on her radio show that the high homelessness rate among LGBT young adults isn’t a result of homes and shelters kicking people out due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. Instead, Harvey said that LGBT youth themselves are to blame for being “stubborn” and becoming drifters: ‘Kids are kicked out of their homes just for being who they are,’ is how the saying... MORE

Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality was not happy last month when Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy said he was going to stop speaking out publicly against marriage equality, calling him a “sellout” who was “hurting the cause.” The anti-gay activist was even further dispirited by the charity World Vision’s decision – since reversed – to recognize the marriages of its gay employees. Speaking with talk show host Janet Mefferd yesterday, LaBarbera told evangelicals that you can’t “call yourself a Christian” and also... MORE

Earlier this year, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) endorsed Arizona’s failed “right-to-discriminate” bill for challenging attempts to “establish the religion of secularism.” In reaction to Mississippi’s enactment a similar law, Gohmert yesterday told Washington Watch host and Family Research Council president Tony Perkins — who stood behind Mississippi’s governor at the bill’s signing ceremony — that he is “so proud of Mississippi and what they’ve done.” After Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant came on the show to receive... MORE

As Brian noted yesterday, anti-gay activists who spent the last week calling for WorldVision's leaders to resign and demanding people pull their contributions from the charity when it briefly decided to recognize its employees’ same-sex spouses, turned on a dime yesterday to attack critics of Mozilla’s new CEO, who had donated to the campaign to overturn marriage equality in California. A case in point is Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber, who just a few days ago was criticizing WorldVision for falling under Satan’s deception and taking the Mark of the Beast,... MORE

Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association is convinced that Modern Family is a “poisonous” show that deceives people into thinking “that heterosexual marriage is bondage,” and expounded on his disgust with the popular sitcom during today’s edition of Focal Point. Unlike the straight couples on the sitcom who “bicker and fight all the time,” Fischer said, the gay couple and their daughter are portrayed like they’re living in “paradise.” “It’s the Garden of Eden, it’s paradise, they are tiptoeing through the...
