Terry Set To Run Graphic Anti-Choice Ads Against "Patently Evil" Obama

Randall Terry, the founder of Operation Rescue, is trying to raise $100,000 to run explicit advertisements on abortion against President Obama in Iowa and New Hampshire. Terry announced that he is running against Obama in the Democratic primary in order to use an election law loophole that would allow him to run graphic advertisements showing aborted fetuses. In the ads, Terry compares Evangelical Christians who voted for Obama to Judas Iscariot and says that Catholics who backed Obama committed a “betrayal of the faith.”

Terry asked supporters to donate to him rather than the Republican candidates because “no GOP candidate is going to run ads that thrash Obama for his support of child killing like these ads do,” arguing that Obama is “the paramount abortionist of the western hemisphere” and “patently evil.” “I despise this Presidency with all my heart,” Terry said, “and I am committed with my life’s blood if necessary to defend the innocent babies that are being slaughtered under Obama’s policies.”

If you despise the Obama Presidency as much as I do, I invite you to help me cause Obama’s defeat in 2012. I beg you to read this entire letter, and join me in this strategy. I promise you…it will work.

A few months ago, when I saw the potential field of GOP candidates, I knew that we would be in for a brawl. I could envision Republicans pummeling and cannibalizing each other at debates and in TV ads, while Obama just grinned from the sidelines.

And that is what is happening! Obama is quietly raising tens of millions of dollars, moving closer to reelection (please God, no!) while Republicans bludgeon each other!

If just five percent of the Christians who voted for Obama in 2008 say, “I will mend my ways; I WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA AGAIN!”…such a swing in the vote would cause Obama’s defeat in the general election.

If you are a pro-lifer, then you know the power of these images. You also can imagine the quiet, gnawing guilt that millions of Christians have for voting for the paramount abortionist of the western hemisphere.

In fact, Obama supports infanticide in America, and forced abortion China. He is patently evil in his efforts to kill the innocent under the banner of “choice.”

You and I both know that no GOP candidate is going to run ads that thrash Obama for his support of child killing like these ads do. Hence, they are missing a great chance to frame the issue for Catholic and Evangelical voters as a matter of Christian conscience and duty.

I am not afraid to do so. I despise this Presidency with all my heart, and I am committed with my life’s blood if necessary to defend the innocent babies that are being slaughtered under Obama’s policies.

So, if Obama upsets you half as much as he does me, give to these ads to defeat him!

Randall Terry Recruits Anti-Choice, Anti-Muslim Challenger To Keith Ellison

Anti-choice zealot Randall Terry, the founder of Operation Rescue, is keeping his promise to recruit his followers to run as candidates for office in order to use a loophole in election law that allows them to air lurid ads against abortion. After running a delegate candidate in Washington D.C. last year, Terry recruited a primary challenger to Speaker John Boehner and is himself running against President Obama in the Democratic presidential primary.

Now, Terry acolyte Gary Boisclair has announced a primary challenge to Minnesota Democrat Keith Ellison. Andy Birkey of the Minnesota Independent notes that Boisclair, who hasn't lived in Minnesota since 2003, donned a chicken costume to protest the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan:

Bosclair’s campaign against Ellison won’t just focus on the congressman’s pro-choice views, but also on his Muslim faith. Terry had his own campaign to destroy copies of the Quran, and Bosclair is putting Ellison’s religion front and center in his latest ad:

UPDATE: YouTube removed the ad "as a violation of YouTube's policy on shocking and disgusting content" and the Boisclair campaign has now posted it on the Media Research Center's MRCTV

Boisclair states:

It is common knowledge that Ellison is proud to publicize his devotion to the writings contained in the Koran.

This TV ad references several verses in the Koran which call for violence against Jews and Christians.

The call to violent acts against Christians and Jews within this ‘holy’ book should alarm every American. The fact that a U.S. Congressman swore an oath on a book that calls for most of us to be persecuted is an outrage.

The Koran is a pillar in Islam’s ‘Sharia Law,’ which is a comprehensive code of ethics governing both the private and the public behaviors of all ‘good’ Muslims. Sharia law— as seen in dozens of Muslims nations—leads to the oppression of its non-Muslim citizens, and the loss of fundamental human rights for all.

The fact that Ellison swore an oath to uphold the Constitution on a book that would destroy the Constitution is as ludicrous as it is absurd.

We did not pick this fight; Islam’s war against Christianity and human liberty has raged against us for 1400 years. We are merely responding with the truth.

Right Wing Leftovers

  • Michele Bachmann will be speaking to Ralph Reed's Faith and Freedom Coalition "Presidential Series National Tele-Town Hall" next week.
  • Fortunately for CAIR, Herman Cain will never become president.
  • Randall Terry needs money.
  • So does the Family Research Council.
  • And Gary Bauer is asking for donations to "help us defend normal marriage" despite the fact that his organization doesn't seem to ever really do much of anything.
  • Finally, can someone explain to me how the Obama administration is playing politics by refusing to release the photos of Osama Bin Laden?

Boehner's "Tea Party" Challenger Is Really A Randall Terry Plant

Last week it was announced that a "pro-life/Tea Party activist" named David Lewis would be launching a primary against John Boehner. Since then, most of the press coverage has focused on the "Tea Party" aspect of Lewis' campaign and ignored the "pro-life" part ... even though it is the anti-choice activism that is really driving the campaign.

Back in 2010, anti-choice zealot Randall Terry discovered that he could get graphic anti-abortion ads to air on television by exploiting a loophole that prohibits broadcasters from refusing to run or censor campaign ads.  As such, he has been recruiting other anti-choice candidates to run for office, not because they have a chance to win, but simply as a means to air grapich ads on television.  In fact, Terry himself is running his own primary challege against President Obama for the same purpose.

Lewis quit his job last year to become a full-time anti-choice activist and admits that he has no chance of actually beating Boehner ... in fact, he doesn't even live in the correct district.

That is Lewis, on the far left in the yellow, particpating in Randall Terry's "sit-in" outside of Boehner's office earlier this year:

So Lewis is running simply in order to run graphic ads

Lewis, the father of a 2-year-old girl, says he plans on running on a single issue - Boehner's support of a federal budget that provides funding to Planned Parenthood, which he calls "the largest killer of unborn babies in America."

Lewis tells the newspaper that he plans on running graphic anti-abortion ads against Boehner. He says that people will not reject abortion until they see abortion.

Lewis already has three graphic ads up on his campaign website ... so it is pretty obvious that his candidacy is not really a "Tea Party" challenge to Boehner at all but is simply the latest step in Randall Terry's campaign to get graphic anti-choice ads aired on television.

Right Wing Leftovers

  • Fortunately for CAIR, Newt Gingrich will never be president.
  • Looks like John Boehner is getting his own Tea Party/Randall Terry acolyte primary challenger.
  • It is always amusing to watch people try to explain and/or defend the things Pat Robertson says.
  • Richard Viguerie has produced a pamphlet explaining that "government is the oldest, largest and most pervasive lawbreaker in America." Sounds fascinating.
  • Finally, Frank Pavone says that if he diocese won't let him pursue his anti-choice activism full time, he may have to transfer to a different one or found "a new religious order for priests seeking to be involved in full-time pro-life work."

Rick Perry Partners With Anti-Choice Extremist For Prayer Rally

Yet another radical endorser has been added to the website of Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s The Response prayer rally: Rob Schenck of Faith And Action. During the 1992 presidential campaign, Schenck was arrested along with Randall Terry “after thrusting a container with a 19-week-old fetus at presidential candidate Bill Clinton,” and four years later told President Clinton “God will hold you to account, Mr. President” for his pro-choice views. Schenk helped Terry found Operation Rescue, one of the most extreme and controversial anti-choice groups in America.

Schenk continues to work closely with other anti-choice zealots, including his brother Paul, who leads that National Pro-Life Action Center. In the 1990s, Schenck and his brother spearheaded a harassment campaign against an abortion provider in upstate New York who was later murdered by an anti-choice activist who is alleged to have had ties with the Schenck brothers.

Along with his militant anti-choice activism, Schenck has repeatedly questioned President Obama’s Christian faith and in 2006 described a deadly mining disaster in West Virginia as a punishment from God. Schenck is also a staunch opponent of gay rights. He called the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell an “attack on personal, moral, social and religious sensibilities” and criticized “militant homosexual activists” for holding an LGBT pride parade in Jerusalem, calling it an “abomination.”

Judging from Perry’s other prayer rally organizers, Schenck will fit right in.

Randall Terry Recruiting Phony Candidates To Run Graphic Anti-Choice Ads

During the 2010 midterm elections, Randall Terry and his crew of anti-choice zealots discovered a way to get graphic anti-abortion ads to air on television by exploiting a loophole that prohibits broadcasters from refusing to run or censor campaign ads.

In the 2010 election, a woman named Missy Smith ran against Washington DC Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton simply for this purpose and Randall Terry himself is now "running" for president in as a Democrat for the same reason.

But Terry isn't stopping there and is also apparently recruiting more phony "Democratic" candidates to similar run ads around the country:

A Highland, Illinois mother of 13 known for her protests outside a Granite City abortion clinic announces she’s running for Congress as a Democrat on the abortion issue.

Retired obstetrics nurse Angela Michael says she wants to air more than 250 commercials in the St. Louis television market featuring images of aborted fetuses.

“I want America to see the message behind abortions,” Michael said, “I want them to see what happens to babies daily. And I also want to show them healthy babies that we rescue and we save in our ultrasound van" ...

Her decision to run was announced on the steps of the Old Court House in downtown St. Louis, flanked by pro-life presidential candidate Randall Terry, who is running as a Democrat. Terry, who says he is already running ads in Iowa, says he’s trying to create a “crisis of conscience.”

“If I can cause three or four percent of the Evangelicals and Catholics who voted in for Obama in 2008 to not vote for him in 2012, I could perhaps keep him from being elected,” Terry said, “I can’t beat Obama in the primary, obviously, but I can wound him.”

Right Wing Leftovers

  • Randall Terry is in desperate need of donations.
  • Richard Land supports the DREAM Act.
  • FRC says those who are "pro-life and pro-family" should NEVER donate to the RNC.
  • Herman Cain says President Obama is "not a strong black man."
  • Quote of the day from Matt Barber: ""The true motivation here is not for marriage equality; the true motivation is to, under penalty of law, ensure that all Americans are compelled to embrace the demonstrably destructive and immoral homosexual lifestyle."

Randall Terry Interviews Rick Santorum

I don't know about you, but if I was hoping to be taken seriously as a Republican presidential candidate and Randall Terry approached me at a conference for an interview, I would run away as fast as I could.

But, then again, I am not Rick Santorum:

Turns out that both Terry and Santorum attended a homeschool convention in Iowa and Terry managed to land an interview with the GOP presidential hopeful.  Terry is breaking the interview up into three parts which he is showing on his television program.

Part one aired last night (starting around the 11:00 mark) and it was relatively uneventful, though Terry did try to get Santorum to promise to eliminate the Department of Education:

Hopefully parts two and three will be a little more interesting.

Randall Terry Kicks Off Presidential Campaign With Iowa Ads

Last year, Randall Terry hit upon the idea of running for president in order to exploit a loophole that would allow him to air graphic anti-abortion ads on television.

Today, he announced that his first campaign ad would begin airing in Iowa, though it is mostly just a standard political ad:

Barack Hussein Obama is the worst President in our history.

He's at war with our founding principles of life and liberty.

His bailout of Wall Street, and socialist agenda have enslaved our children to debt…to China.

His addiction to Arab oil funds Islamic terrorists, while he leaves billions of barrels untouched in ANWR.

He chose a government shutdown, paid our soldiers late, rather than defund Planned Parenthood.

He cast aside the Defense of Marriage Act.

And is guilty of the slaughter of unborn babies - defying the Commandments of God.

Who will stop this madman? The establishment? John Boehner? Mitt Romney?

I'm asking for your vote in the Iowa Caucus against Obama. I can defeat him here...if YOU put principle ahead of party; life and liberty, ahead of comfort...and slavery.

I'm Randall Terry, and I approve this message.

But, true to his main goal, his campaign website does contain several "prototype" ads featuring graphic images that likely intends to run in the future.

Right Wing Leftovers

  • Governors Mitch Daniels and Nathan Deal will not be attending Rick Perry's prayer rally.
  • Randall Terry has moved his based of operations to a compound out in West Virginia.
  • Someone should really investigate how much money, if any, these right-wing activists make off of these "fax your lawmaker" campaigns.
  • ABC changed the name of "Good Christian Bitches" to "Good Christian Belles," but Gary Cass is still opposed because the show is "bigoted attack [and] demeaning to all Christian women."
  • Finally, Bryan Fischer isn't going to let the fact that he actually approves of this ruling get in the way of attacking gays.

The Next Logical Step: Using White Sheets To Defund Planned Parenthood

Looks like other ant-choice activists are taking a page out of the Randall Terry playbook by seeking to upgrade the shock value of their efforts to get Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, which is why Patrick J. Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition and Johnny Hunter of the Life Education and Resource Networks [LEARN] will be demonstrating in front of Speaker John Boehner's office displaying white sheets in an effort to link Planned Parenthood to the Ku Klux Klan:

Leaders to display "white sheets" to draw attention to the fact that Planned Parenthood Founder, Margaret Sanger, supported the Ku Klux Klan and their racist agenda and even spoke at a Klan rally.

White sheets are a longtime symbol of the KKK.

Clergy to say not one penny of public money should be given to an organization founded by a racist and Klan supporter.

Demonstration and News Conference Details --

When: Thursday, April 7, at 11:00 A.M.

Where: In front of Speaker Boehner's office in the Longworth House office Building. The location is the public sidewalk on the corner of Independence and New Jersey Ave. SE Washington, D.C.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states;

"We are displaying these 'white sheets' to expose the reality that the Founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a racist who supported the agenda of the Ku Klux Klan and even participated in their events.

"We are calling upon the members of Congress, who have given billions of public money to Planned Parenthood over the years, to defund this organization whose roots are racist, bigoted and extremist.

"Our tax dollars should be given to groups that have embraced human rights, equality and justice for all, not to organizations founded by racists who embraced the agenda and philosophy of the KKK.

"Does America really want to fund the largest abortion provider in the world whose founder supported the Klan and racism?"

Dr. Johnny Hunter, National Director of LEARN one of the largest African-American pro-life organizations in America, comments;

"If Congress is going to continue funding Planned Parenthood, they may as well just give it to the KKK. Planned Parenthood's main service to the black community is abortion.

"Like drug pushers who make a profit pushing drugs in a community, Planned Parenthood is an abortion pusher who makes a profit pushing abortion in a community. By aborting black babies, Planned Parenthood has killed more blacks than either the drug pushers or the KKK.

Are they going to be wearing these white sheets, or simply displaying them?  Because if they are actually going to wear them, then this might be worth checking out.

Right Wing Round-Up

Boehner Admits GOP Has No Desire To Shut Down Government Over Planned Parenthood

Last week, Religious Right leaders signed on to a letter to Speaker John Boehner demanding that the provision to defund Planned Parenthood "must be a non-negotiable in the Continuing Resolution and we urge you to accept nothing less than this outcome."

Randall Terry even took his crew of activists to Boehner's office to demand that House Republicans make this issue "a hill to die on" and they got arrested in an effort to drive home that point ... but in an interview with CBN's David Brody, Boehner made it clear that they are looking to pass the Continuing Resolution in order to avoid being blamed for a government shutdown and have no intention of drawing a line in the sand on this issue:

David Brody: “Can you commit to them that (defunding Planned Parenthood) will stay in the CR no matter what?”

Speaker John Boehner: “The continuing resolution passed 10 days ago did in fact defund Planned Parenthood and that bill has gone over to the United States Senate. They, like the House were out last week. What they’ll do with that bill I have no idea. In the short term CR though our focus is on cutting spending and making sure that we keep the government open. In order to get this through the House and through the Senate and signed by the President by March 4th, we're not going to take any big chances on the fact that they're looking for an excuse to shut down the government. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer they've been rooting for a government shutdown. We do not want to give them an excuse to do that."

David Brody: “But then again with Planned Parenthood and this whole situation we know what’s going to happen in the Senate. It’s not going to be part of the CR. The pro-life community wants the GOP leadership to stand firm here in conference and is that a line in the sand?”

Speaker John Boehner: “The goal here again is to cut spending and keep the government open. I met with a lot of religious leaders earlier today to talk about the strategy and I think it’s important that we understand that what we want to do here is win the war not just win a battle and there will be an opportunity sometime in order to win the big war and we're looking for that opportunity. I don't think this short term CR is the opportunity that will get us there."

David Brody: “So in essence you’re saying if it comes to that you’re not going to shut down the government over the defunding of Planned Parenthood.”

Speaker John Boehner: “There are a lot of options on the table but I don’t think in the short term CR (Continuing Resolution) this is the opportunity we’re looking for.”

Terry Planning Sit-In and Arrests At Boehner's Office Over Planned Parenthood Funding

Shortly after the last election, Randall Terry and his crew of militant anti-choice activists met with Speaker of the House John Boehner's Chief of Staff in order to deliver their "demand that Republicans who won the House of Representatives hasten the end of legalized child killing in America."

Among the threats they delivered was that if "Boehner does not defund Planned Parenthood, we will find people to run against him and other Republicans in the primaries of 2012. Defunding Planned Parenthood is non-negotiable."

Last week, the House voted to do just that but that is not enough for Terry, who fears that the Senate will not follow suit and that funding will be restored when the legislation goes to Conference Committee.  As such, Terry and crew are heading back to Boehner's office tomorrow for a sit-in to demand that House Republicans make this "a hill to die on":

We have NO REASON to believe that Mr. Boehner and Co. will insure that the House members on the Conference Committee will make this "a hill to die on." Therefore, pro-lifers and tea party activists should continue forward as if today's vote was little more than a "maybe" or even a cruel ruse regarding defunding Planned Parenthood.

Statement of Randall Terry, Founder, Operation Rescue:

"We have been lied to and betrayed by Republicans in power for decades. For example, from 2000 to 2006 the GOP controlled the White House, the Senate, and the U.S. House. During that time, they continued to fund Planned Parenthood with billions of dollars, while they claimed to be 'pro-life.' Mr. Boehner was part of that ongoing hypocrisy.

"The question is this: Will Sheriff Boehner guarantee that the House members of the Conference Committee will not allow Planned Parenthood funding to be restored? If not, this is all a scam.

After Being Called a "Charlatan," Frank Pavone Vows To Vote For Randall Terry

Last year, Randall Terry went on a rampage against other anti-choice groups, accusing them of not fighting hard enough to stop the confirmation of Elena Kagan.

And the primary focus of his ire was a fundraising letter sent out by Priests for Life and Father Frank Pavone, which Terry claimed was a perfect example of "why we are losing this fight" to stop abortion:

1) He tells people that to be REALLY pro-life, they just have to send Priests for Life money. This falsely trains people to think that they can discharge their duty to God with money; that they are champions for the babies who are being murdered because they write a check. This is not true. It is a false paradigm.

2) He tells the reader that "Priests for Life is the Voice of the Pro-life Movement." This is a falsehood on two counts. First, they have not been heard in the key fights against Kagan, Sotomayor, Health care, etc., because of their tax exempt status. In real, political terms, they barely give a peep. Second, YOU CAN NEVER GIVE UP YOUR VOICE. You have a duty to lift YOUR VOICE. When someone tells you they can be your voice in this life and death struggle, they are misleading you. You have to go to the abortion mills; you have to go to lobby your elected officials. You cannot have a hired gun do it.

3) He tells the readers "we are winning!" This is also a falsehood. The pro-life movement is not winning, it is losing, and it is losing badly. 50 million babies are dead, with no end in sight. We cannot even filibuster Kagan, perhaps the most evil judge to ever take the bench! Is this what "winning" looks like?!

In Terry's view, Pavone and Priests for Life were claiming victory while doing nothing to stop abortion in order to raise money and were therefore guilty of "living off the blood of babies:"

But the essence is this: some LEADERS and MANY CHARLATANS in the pro-life movement are like PRO-LIFE VAMPIRES, living off the blood of babies. The very fact that they DO NOT FIGHT KAGAN is the proof of their hypocrisy and duplicity. And their silence is driven by MONEY; the "tax exempt status."

They are useless; they are collaborators with the baby killers themselves. (I DO NOT perceive Fr. Pavone to be fully in that camp, but he is flirting with the wrong people, and it comes out loud and clear in his letter. His organization has clearly put money ahead of the babies in certain fights; I beg your prayers for him and his organization.)

So, using the words of the Priests for Life letter that just went out, and using the useless, godless letter sent out by Americans United for Life - and signed by other pathetic groups - I am drawing a line in the sand, for the sake of the babies.

So it is interesting, not that Terry is planning on running for president so that he can exploit an election loophole and run graphic anti-choice ads on television, that Pavone is heaping praise upon the idea and vowing that he will vote for Terry:

Following President Obama’s remarks supporting marriage equality, the Religious Right is now moving from expressing its anger to rallying the base for Mitt Romney.  American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer on Focal Point yesterday said that Obama is “toast” and “just handed the election to Mitt Romney” because he favors “behavior that will kill you if you don’t catch yourself in time”: President Barack Obama has officially come out in favor of homosexual marriage, he has officially come out in favor of unnatural marriage, he has... Earlier this month we posted a segment of Bishop Daniel Jenky’s Homily comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin, arguing that the President is “following a similar path” as the two dictators: Jenky has faced criticisms from groups including the Anti-Defamation League and Faithful America, which organized a petition asking Jenky to apologize. Over eighty faculty members of the University of Notre Dame, where Jenky serves as a member of its Board of Fellows, in a letter said that they found it “profoundly offensive” to “compare the... Last week, Randall Terry released a video demanding that we and others acknowlege his primary "victory" in Oklahoma over President Obama , which we gladly did.  But now it seems that Terry is not particularly pleased with the coverage that his video received and so he is back with a new video, this one warning us, Jezebel, The Huffington Post, TPM Muckraker, and The Young Turks that he will testify against us all on the Day of Judgment because we promote murder while mocking God and His servants and are thus condemning ourselves to Hell: MORE >

Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry is running for the Democratic presidential nomination in order to run graphic ads against abortion rights, which he says have aired in fifteen states. Because he won over 15% of the vote in the Oklahoma primary, where he had the help of Ann Coulter, Terry will likely have at least one delegate representing his candidacy at the Democratic National Convention. He said in a statement yesterday that he hopes his campaign and Obama's support for abortion rights will cost Obama “the White House in 2012”: "My message was simple: Obama... MORE >
