Glenn Beck invited Rep. Michele Bachmann on to his television program last night to discuss the threat that ISIS poses to the Middle East and the rest of the world, during which she laid out her simple solution to solving the crisis: Kill ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, defeat his army of radical Islamic fighters, and "be done with it." When Beck wondered why the U.S. hasn't just sent an elite sniper team in to kill al-Baghdadi, Bachmann said that is exactly what needs to happen, declaring that ISIS only has 12,000 fighters, which will be no match for the U.S. military. In an appearance on “The Lars Larson Show” last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann repeated GOP talking points about how President Obama is somehow behind the Republican-led effort to impeach him. Bachmann told Larson that Obama is trying to “egg” Republicans to impeach him in order to “help his electoral chances in the fall,” and then will go ahead and “take any lawless action that he wants to because he really doesn’t think that the Republicans will impeach him. He figures it’s an open field day and now is the time to get everything he wants... MORE >

In a conference call with the anti-immigrant group Numbers USA last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann called illegal immigration a “war against the American people” and suggested that the U.S. levy a 100 percent tax on money that immigrants send back to Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala in order to put pressure on those countries’ governments. The Minnesota Republican spoke just before House Republican leadership handed its immigration policy over to her and Rep. Steve King . “When are we going to get serious and really deport and deport right on the border?... MORE >

The House Republican leadership seems to have handed the handling of the border crisis over to its far-right flank, planning to vote this afternoon on a bill that Rep. Steve King said was “like I ordered it off the menu.” This is how Rep. Michelle Bachmann described King’s role in the far-right takeover of the border bill: “We sat down in that room last night, HC 8 … in the Capitol, and it went as smooth as silk. Steve laid it out and in less than two hours we worked it out,” Bachmann said. “It was really a painless process. But it was the... MORE >

RWW’s Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right. This week, we learn that Republican calls for impeachment are actually Democrats’ fault, see a major admission about Obama’s presidency, and explore the connections between environmental protection, the border crisis, Obamaphones, and the president’s private army. 5. Republican Calls For Impeachment Are A Democratic Plot. We’ve always suspected that people like Bryan Fischer and Matt Barber are liberal plants sent to discredit and destroy the conservative... Reps. Steve King and Michele Bachmann recently chatted with Jerome Corsi, the chief reporter of the conspiracy theory website WorldNetDaily, about the increase in unaccompanied minors crossing the border. King, a Republican from Iowa, told Corsi that instead of “scattering these kids all over the country,” they should house them all in a tent city along the border. For her part, Bachmann said that “100 percent of the girls coming up from Guatemala were on birth control” because they expected to be raped along the way to the U.S. MORE >

Rep. Steve Stockman claimed yesterday that President Obama is using the crisis of unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border as part of an effort to enforce his “Third World view.” “Obama adopts a Third World view and demands not only we allow these people to remain, but suggests we should start teaching our children Spanish,” the Texas Republican told WorldNetDaily yesterday. WorldNetDaily notes that Stockman was referring to remarks Obama gave at a campaign stop in 2008, where he was discussing the need for Americans, especially students, to learn more than... MORE >

Rep. Michelle Bachmann has a new theory about the unaccompanied minors fleeing violence in Central America who have come in large numbers to the southern U.S. border: they are future victims of a liberal plot to use unwilling children for medical experiments. It all starts with the case of Justina Pelletier, the teenage girl who was placed in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families because of a dispute between Boston Children's Hospital and her parents, who were backed by other doctors from Tufts Medical Center, over her medical diagnosis. Last month, she was... MORE >
