Joseph Farah's 9/11 Day of Prayer is Your Last Chance to Save America

WorldNetDaily founder Joseph Farah is organizing a National Day of Prayer and Fasting on September 11, and it’s kind of a big deal.

In fact, as Farah told Rick Wiles yesterday, it’s “our last chance” to save America from God’s judgment.

Speaking with Farah on his TruNews program, Wiles declared that America has gone “over a cliff” and “the next sound we’re going to hear will be the splat.” Farah’s day of prayer, then, is “a matter of life and death.” Farah agreed, adding, “It’s our last chance.”

In a video introducing the day of prayer, Farah warns that American politics and “cultural institutions like the media, Hollywood, academia, science, foundations, etc.” have all “become judgments on a country that has lost its moral bearings.”

In his interview with Wiles, Farah noted that he’s sick of people blaming President Obama bringing for God’s judgment on America. Instead, he said, the president is “part of the judgment.” Wiles agreed, adding, “He is the judgment. He is the pharaoh.”

Wiles: I used to say we’re going to go over the cliff. We’re over the cliff. We went over the cliff. We are in the air. We are going down now.

Farah: We’re like Wile E. Coyote when he goes off the cliff and he looks down until he recognizes it,  that’s when he falls.

Wiles: That’s where we’re at, and the next sound we’re going to hear will be the splat. And I don’t know if very many Christians are fully aware that we’ve already gone over the cliff. You know, people talk about the fiscal cliff, but what about the morality cliff? We’ve gone over the morality cliff and we’re now dropping. And we are at the state where if there is not a miracle, a sovereign act of the Holy God to stop this, then we are going to smack the ground. There is no doubt we are already descending. And so, this is a matter of life and death. This isn’t, ‘Oh, Joseph Farah’s got a nice idea, we ought to gather together and have prayer and fasting, isn’t that a cute little idea.’ No, this is life and death!

Farah: Right, I’ve heard this before, this kind of thing. It can’t be like that. This is our last chance.

Wiles: Yes!

Farah: I mean, that’s the way I feel about it, it’s our last chance. And by the way, it’s not a one-day thing. Something, you know, I remember when I first floated this idea, I got tremendous reaction from people, they loved it, they were enthusiastic, but their response was, ‘Why do we have to wait until 9/11?’ And my response to them, as many as I could respond to, was simply this: ‘You’ve got to prepare yourself for this.’ I’m just thinking to myself, I have a lot to repent for. And, you know, it might take me five months to get into that state of full and total humility and repentance. That’s what we have to be doing right now, cleaning our own act up, not pointing fingers at everybody else, you know, ‘Obama’s doing this to us’ and…You know, Obama’s part of the judgment.

Wiles: That’s right. He is the judgment. He’s our pharaoh.

Farah: Marriage Equality Will Put America in 'The Dustbin of History'

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah today promoted his 9/11 National Day of Prayer event by warning that a Supreme Court decision in favor of marriage equality will mean that the high court is “legally destroying the very building block of our civilization.” Farah claims that such a ruling will make America fall “into oligarchy and tyranny” and eventually “the dustbin of history like so many empires before it.”

In a few weeks, the U.S. Supreme [sic] will make rulings in two cases that will determine whether America continues as a self-governing nation under the rule of law and will of the people or it goes the way of most other countries and descends into oligarchy and tyranny.

That is what the stakes are in rulings the justices will make on the definition of marriage.

There hasn’t been a more important Supreme Court ruling since Roe v. Wade. Not even Obamacare was this big. Both of those went very badly because of the rulings of justices named to the high court by Republicans. In this case, it will take a straight flush by justices named by Republicans to save America from legally destroying the very building block of our civilization.

I know I have been asking for prayer frequently during these trying days. I’m encouraged by the feedback I have received from thousands to my plea for a 9/11 National Day of Prayer and Fasting.

But I am convinced that without it, this country is headed for the dustbin of history like so many empires before it.

This is no idle request. It’s our only chance for survival. Government is broken. Politics is broken. The culture is broken. God is simply waiting to hear our fervent cries of repentance and deliverance.

Brody and Farah Dismiss Jason Collins, Upset Over Gay Acceptance

Reacting yesterday to NBA player Jason Collins’ coming out, the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody argued that it doesn’t take much courage to come out these days because being gay is “hip,” “chic” and “the thing to do.” Of course, if Brody’s boss Pat Robertson had his way, Collins would be completely shunned by society.

Just a thought on the Jason Collins story. I’m not denying it took some guts to come out as gay when you’re a professional sports player but let’s also get a little perspective here. Polls in America now show a majority of Americans support gay marriage (53%) and 54% think being gay is morally acceptable behavior. So it’s not like Jason Collins is in the minority of public opinion. He’s actually now among the majority in this country! It would have been one thing if he had done this a few years ago but now? C’mon. What he did is so “chic” right? We are told it’s now ok to be gay right? It’s hip! We’ve got NBA players commending him today not shunning him. Where is the adversity? He's being treated as a hero by most people not an outcast.

So while I understand that when you’re the first to do something you get a lot of attention, let’s be real here. Jason Collins came out as gay at a time in American culture when it is relatively safe to do so. It’s the thing to do! Excuse me if I don’t attend the Ticker Tape Parade on this.

Meanwhile, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah praised ESPN commentator Chris Broussard for attacking Collins and lamented the current “obsession” over making “heroes out of people because of their sexual proclivities.”

So far, only one person knowledgeable in sports has had the guts to say what is really going on here – Chris Broussard, an NBA analyst on ESPN whose job might very well be in danger for stating his honest opinion. Broussard, a Christian, said that living openly as a homosexual is a sin and that doing so was “walking in open rebellion to God and Jesus Christ.”

Now that takes courage. These days, that’s risky business.

There’s little need for Collins to worry about media reaction or how most NBA stars will react to the big announcement. They’ve already been put on notice by the sport cartel that showers them in tens of millions and sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars to run up and down a basketball court.

Whether or not Collins ever plays professional basketball or not, you can be assured he will not suffer. There will be book contracts, movie deals and lots of personal appearances.

Who says sin doesn’t pay?

And what can one say about the obsession by people like the Obamas and the Clintons in making heroes out of people because of their sexual proclivities?

Bachmann Endorses WND Prayer Event that Likens Homosexuality to Terrorism

Michele Bachmann has heartily endorsed the WorldNetDaily prayer effort to mark the anniversary of the September 11 attacks by praying against terrorism, nuclear war and homosexuality. WND editor and birther leader Joseph Farah claimed today that the day of prayer is needed to stop comprehensive immigration reform, the government’s supposed plans to stockpile weapons to “impose de facto firearms restrictions on citizens” and gay rights advocates who seek to “make the citizenry of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.”

Have you ever had the feeling the nation is on the brink of utter disaster?

Has that feeling ever been stronger than it is right now?

• It turns out that after spending hundreds of billions on foreign wars and nearly an equal amount on a new bureaucracy called the Department of Homeland Security, Americans are just as vulnerable to Islamic terrorist attacks as they were on 9/11.

• For days that seemed like weeks, the systematically disarmed residents of the Boston and Cambridge area cowered in their homes and hid in their closets in fear of one armed and dangerous terrorist presumed to have been involved in the Boston Marathon bombing.

• Sometimes it seems the war on terrorism is really a war on the people of the United States and, particularly, on their liberty, as DHS and other agencies target entire classifications of law-abiding Americans rather than those who pose the gravest threat.

• Even when the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate narrowly rejects harsh gun-control legislation, the DHS and other government agencies impose de facto firearms restrictions on citizens by buying up billions of rounds of ammunition, thus removing them from the free marketplace where they could be used for citizen self-defense.

• As the economy continues its five-year cycle of sputtering, the government continues unchecked in its policy of insanely unsustainable borrowing and spending.

• North Korea is threatening all-out nuclear war against South Korea as well as intercontinental ballistic missile attacks against the U.S.

• Iran continues to build a nuclear arsenal of its own while periodically threatening Israel and the U.S., which it still regards as “the little Satan” and “the great Satan.”

• The U.S. continues its slide from moral malaise to cultural hedonism that makes the late 1960s look like the 1950s by comparison, as support for “same-sex marriage” grows, the horrors of the “abortion on demand” crusade are revealed in a Philadelphia courtroom sans media coverage and an epidemic of sex abuse against children by schoolteachers, clergy and scoutmasters is not only ignored but results in capitulation by the Boy Scouts of America to the demands of those who would make the citizenry of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.

• Most of the U.S. press, once considered an important watchdog institution against government fraud, waste, abuse and corruption, has become a disinformation factory – out of touch with the values of the people, the principles upon which the country was established and even the rule of law that specifically guards the media’s own freedom.

• As the country becomes more divided culturally and jobs become harder to find for Americans, one of the highest priorities of the ruling elite in Washington is to ensure that tens of millions of illegal aliens already in the country are permitted to stay, while its calls for amnesty and an open border virtually invite more to emigrate, while rolling out the red carpet for terrorist enemies to enter in their wake.

Do I paint an accurate picture, or do I exaggerate?

It all suggests to me something’s got to give – that we are reaching a breaking point for America.

Is there any conceivable way “politics” as usual can save the country from disaster?

I honestly believe it’s our last and only hope for saving America from catastrophe.

Joseph Farah on His Friendship with Rand Paul and Why Ron Paul Isn't A Christian

Speaking to End Times radio broadcaster Jan Markell, WorldNetDaily editor and birther leader Joseph Farah described his recent tour of Israel with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), which was organized by the American Family Association and included a number of Religious Right activists.

Farah described a cozy relationship with Paul, whose staff he says reached out to him to come on the trip. But Farah did not have kind words for the senator’s father, former congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul, whom he claimed is not a real Christian.

“Ron Paul is hardly a friend to Israel and I don’t think that he is a Christian,” Farah said. “I don’t think he has a Christian worldview.”

Farah said that unlike his father, Rand Paul “understands the threat that the Muslim world holds not only against Israel but against us.” He added that he and the senator prayed together at the Western Wall and that the senator had a “spiritual journey” while in Israel.

I had the privilege of traveling to Israel with Rand Paul and spending a lot of time with him there. I was asked to go on the tour; his staff asked me to come on the tour because I think they wanted to hear the Israel point of view from an Arab-American journalist as opposed to just Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders and so forth and so I was able to do that. I also was very impressed with the fact that Rand Paul is not his father; I want to say that unequivocally.

I had many, many problems with Ron Paul. I do believe that Ron Paul is hardly a friend to Israel and I don’t think that he is a Christian; I don’t think he has a Christian worldview. Now, I admire Ron Paul’s economic policies, there were many things that he did throughout his career that I think were terrific. Rand Paul to me, I’m not endorsing him, I’m just telling you what I know and what I got to know from personal experience with him, is a believer. He went to Israel and he had a spiritual journey there that was very, very meaningful to him. I got to pray with him at the Western Wall. We went to visit all of the holy sites in Israel. It was with his wife and younger children, it was a moving experience for them, an unforgettable, life-changing kind of experience.

I got to grill him pretty intensively. I can sincerely say that I believe he thinks Israel is at least one of our best friends in the world if not our best friend. That’s a big, big difference from his father. He understands the threat that the Muslim world holds not only against Israel but against us. That’s a big difference from what his father said and understood.

And in case we had forgotten what a fervent conspiracy theorist Farah is, earlier in the show he told Markell that the country may soon become a dictatorship.

Markell: Do you think America is headed for a dictatorship? If so, what do you tell Christians who are watching their country morph into something unrecognizable?

Farah: I do believe we’re headed in that direction. Do I believe it’s irreversible? Absolutely not. I cling to 2 Chronicles 7:14; I cling to the idea that there can be a real revival in this country; I cling to the idea that Christians are going to awaken to what’s going on around them; and I cling to the idea that the Holy Spirit can move at any time and help us save ourselves from that terrible outcome. However, there’s no question that we’re moving closer and closer to tyranny, police state kinds of conditions. We’re seeing evidence all the time, the gun confiscation mania is just one of many examples.

Farah: 'Dangerous and Totalitarian' Gays Seek 'the Active Recruitment of Children'

Joseph Farah writes today that lawmakers in California and New Jersey who are pushing limits on ex-gay therapy are “promoting sexual anarchy” and “child abuse.” The virluently anti-gay WorldNetDaily editor warns that the “homosexual lobby” is “dangerous and totalitarian in nature” and seeks the “the active recruitment of children into aberrant sexual lifestyles.”

At the same time American society takes this anything-goes approach to sexuality, there is one new glaring taboo being constructed in some states: Counseling and therapy for minors who want to change their sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Such legislation was passed by the California Legislature before being struck down by the courts.

But now similar legislation is being introduced in New Jersey, in what can fairly be described as the next big push by those promoting sexual anarchy in America.

This is an illustration of just how dangerous and totalitarian in nature the homosexual lobby truly is.

What’s happening in our society today is nothing short of the active recruitment of children into aberrant sexual lifestyles. We once called this child abuse. But today it’s official state policy. The next step, which may have been unimaginable a few years ago, is to ensure there’s no way out for those recruits.

Parents and children shouldn’t have an opportunity to explore their options in enjoying a heterosexual lifestyle. Change only works one way, according to these fiends.

Think about this: Children molested by same-sex adults are much more likely to adopt a same-sex attraction. Sometimes all those kids need is some counseling to overcome their victimization. That would be legally prohibited by the legislation now under consideration in New Jersey and the legislation passed in California.

The homosexual movement once claimed its supreme goal was to ensure that its constituents could do what they want in the privacy of their own bedrooms. That was a lie. Now they parade their sexual proclivities in our streets and in the “gay”-friendly media. It’s no longer an alternative lifestyle; it’s quickly becoming the preferred lifestyle, the brave new lifestyle, the hip and heroic lifestyle, the affirmative-action lifestyle.

Now the homosexual movement and its allies in the popular culture, media and politics are seeking to use the police power of the state to make sure there’s no return from a “choice” made even as a child. Once “gay,” always “gay” is their credo.

Anti-Gay Activists Attack Rob Portman's Son's 'Disorder' and 'Abhorrent Lifestyle'

Last week, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman announced that, inspired by his son’s coming out, he now supports marriage equality. Religious Right activists are, of course, responding with a characteristic lack of tact and grace.

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber, for example, denounced Portman for trying to “accommodate his son’s abhorrent lifestyle.”

“... Perhaps [the senator’s] love for his son has deceived him in not being able to differentiate between loving his son and helping his son to do the right thing, versus changing his entire worldview and his view of the natural institution of legitimate marriage in order to accommodate his son's abhorrent lifestyle,” says Barber.

Portman told reporters his previous views on marriage were rooted in his Methodist faith and his change of heart came because of "the Bible's overarching themes of love and compassion." Barber challenges that interpretation.

“This provides us a perfect example of the danger of looking at things through the jaundiced prism of our own feelings rather than on objective truths,” says the Liberty Counsel attorney.

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah wondered how Portman would respond if his son came out as a serial killer:

I’ve heard some wacky excuses by politicians for changing their minds on some of the most important moral issues facing American, but Ohio Sen. Rob Portman’s rationale for flip-flopping on same-sex marriage takes the proverbial wedding cake.

In case you haven’t heard, his son is a homosexual.

“I have come to believe that if two people are prepared to make a lifetime commitment to love and care for each other in good times and in bad, the government shouldn’t deny them the opportunity to get married,” Portman wrote in a commentary published Friday in the Columbus Dispatch.

I guess we should all be grateful Rob Portman’s son didn’t choose to become a polygamist or a serial killer.

People like Todd Akin and Steve King don’t represent a threat to the future of the Republican Party. People like Rob Portman and Karl Rove represent a clear and present danger to its future.

What they are pushing is not liberty, it is licentiousness. What they are pushing is not morality, it is moral relativism. What they are pushing is not the kind of virtue and personal responsibility that makes self-government possible, it is the kind of pop-culture immorality that makes self-government impossible.

Ohio-based activist Linda Harvey, president of Mission America, lamented Portman’s decision to support his “rebellious” son’s “disorder” and “delusion”:

It’s not that I can’t empathize with the position his son has put him in. Every parent hopes never to face a rebellious child. But Portman has decided not to call this rebellion. Whether it was pressure from his wife or some kind of ultimatum by his son, Portman now issues editorial statements that ring with “gay marriage” advocacy. What a slam on Ohio families!

He opines about “civil marriage rights” as if they don’t exist now. These unions will be a stabilizing force bringing “renewed strength” to the institution, he thinks – but Portman is either woefully uninformed or deliberately ignores the mounting evidence against these lifestyles and the political militancy they are unleashing . There is no excuse for a sitting senator to jump on board a movement that viciously targets challengers, forces indoctrination of children in taxpayer- funded schools and bullies the corporate culture as well as the Boy Scouts into bowing before its altar of deviance.

And it’s so unnecessary. Every person out there who claims a “gay” identity has the ability to get married in Ohio or anywhere else now. He or she can marry someone of the opposite sex, because that’s what marriage is and because a “gay” identity is a delusion. Two men, no matter how sincere they feel, or two women, will never be a marriage. The person who believes this disorder is “who he is,” as apparently Portman’s son does, has tragically internalized a lie.

The deception of the culture is easy to accommodate if your principles are weak at the core. Homosexual feelings may seem unchosen, but we do have a choice about what fantasies and desires we nurture and feed. And we always have a choice about public identity and behavior.

His son needs to hear the hope of change and the stories of the thousands of former homosexuals in this country. But his father is apparently not going to tell him. How sad!

  • Both Franklin Graham and Richard Land support universal background checks for all gun purchases.

Farah: Same-Sex Marriage is 'One of the Most Radical Ideas Considered Since Child Sacrifice'

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah is pleased with CPAC’s decision to ban GOProud, a gay Republican group, but thinks that the event's organizers should go even further and bar any supporter of marriage equality as well. Farah argues that commentator S.E. Cupp, who bowed out of the summit to protest GOProud’s exclusion, shouldn’t have been invited in the first place. According to Farah, no one can be conservative and favor same-sex marriage, which he calls “one of the most radical ideas considered since child sacrifice.”

Hey, S.E.! It has been figured out. CPAC had a civil war over this issue, and your side lost.

What is conservative about advocating for same-sex marriage?

I can’t think of an issue that more clearly defines what a conservative is than this one.

This is not the Libertarian Political Action Conference. It’s not the Liberal Political Action Conference. It’s the Conservative Political Action Conference. What’s wrong with limiting the speakers and the sponsors to conservatives?

Why is S.E. Cupp even invited to speak?

I don’t get it.

The Conservative Political Action Conference is for conservatives – not for people who seek to undermine the Judeo-Christian basis of Western civilization with one of the most radical ideas considered since child sacrifice.

Farah: Evolution and Environmentalism to blame for Increase in Suicide Rate

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah cites a new study which found that “suicide has overtaken traffic accidents as the leading cause of injury deaths in the U.S.” and blames it on the fact that public schools teach evolution, environmental science and comprehensive sex-education.

He argued that the suicide rate has increased as a result of schools teaching children “promiscuous sex,” “that human beings are merely the result of billions of years of evolution” and that the earth “would be better off without us.”

Farah also seems to imply that it is no coincidence that the rise in the suicide rate occurred in Obama’s first year in office. However, the study noted that “the suicide rate rose 15 percent over the past decade,” well before Obama took office.

Guns don’t kill people. People kill themselves.

That’s the story from the American Journal of Public Health, which reports that since Barack Obama was sworn in as president in 2009, the leading cause of death in America has been suicide.

I believe the trend reflects a deep and growing spiritual emptiness in a culture that is more depraved and sinful than at any time in its history.

Too many people just don’t find any meaning in life.

Think about it.

We are told from the youngest age in state-run schools that human beings are merely the result of billions of years of evolution from lower life forms and random mutations. There is no Creator God who loves us and to whom we are accountable. There are no laws higher than those government imposes on us – no sin, no ultimate, objective moral code. In fact, human beings are a blight on the planet. It would be better off without us – or at least with a lot fewer of us polluting the air with carbon dioxide and overheating the Earth.

Do I have that about right?

Furthermore, in those same government schools, prayer and Bible reading are prohibited, but explicit instructions on how to have promiscuous sex without consequences is mandated.

Abortion is subsidized, while adoption is prohibitively expensive – in the unlikely event you can find a child to adopt.

Increasingly, the state is sticking its nose into what we eat, what we say, how we raise our children – even our thoughts.

Government is fine with pornography. But purity and abstinence are discouraged.

In other words, right is wrong, up is down, black is white and left is right.

And we sit here and wonder why people are killing themselves.

Farah: National Debt Violates at Least Two of the Ten Commandments

WorldNetDaily’s Joseph Farah has a new project: erecting billboards listing the Ten Commandments in major American cities. So far, he just has a handful of billboards up in Las Vegas, but he’s hoping that eventually he will be able to fund “hundreds of thousands” of them across the country. Farah joined Janet Mefferd yesterday to talk about the campaign, telling her that our economic troubles are “just a symptom, frankly, of a moral problem,” namely that the national debt violates the biblical commandments against covetousness and stealing.

Farah might be interested to learn that the United States has held a public debt for all but one year of its history, meaning that by his own definition even his beloved Founding Fathers and Honorary Founding Father Ronald Reagan were complicit in violating the Ten Commandments.

Mefferd: What concerns you most about our country right now, what do you think is the greatest, you know, sin, greatest moral failure in our country that most needs this reminder that God has issued us these Ten Commandments?

Farah: Well, you know, I think if you ask most people what the biggest problem we face, it’s in our economy, is being devastated. But I think that’s just a symptom, frankly, of a moral problem at the very basis of that. You know, when you decide, for instance, as a nation, that you’re going to spend your grandchildren’s money and their great-great-grandchildren’s money racking up debt that, you know, people will be paying off for generations, that is covetousness, that’s stealing. How many commandments are we breaking right there?

Mefferd: That’s right.

Farah: And, you know, again, I’m not trying to make this a materialistic thing, but what I’m saying is, it all ties in together. When you turn away from God…you know what, God gives us the desires of our heart. And when we decide we don’t want any part of God, he allows us to make that decision and live with the consequences. And I believe that’s what we’re, what’s happening to America right now, we’re spiraling down and we’re, you know, we’re not the nation we used to be. And unless we turn around and we follow that 2 Chronicles 7:14 prescription, we’re going to continue in that direction.

Farah: Obama's Gun Policies lead to 'Mass-Murdering Tyranny'

The right-wing press really can’t get enough of the comparisons of President Obama to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin over his new executive actions and proposed gun laws, including the reauthorization of the Assault Weapons Ban. While the first Assault Weapons Ban that lasted from 1994 to 2004 didn’t produce a fascistic dictatorship, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah writes today that “Obama’s gun grab” is how “every mass-murdering tyranny in the history of the world started.” Farah claims that the left will bring about “the end of liberty” and that Americans will be in the same situation as the colonists confronting a “tyrannical government” during the American Revolution.

Left leads to the end of liberty. The right path buys us time to restore the principle of constitutionally limited government.

If the U.S. government renders its citizens as subjects by disarming them, it will be the end of the dream of liberty that drove our founders to arms to fight for self-government and independence.

In fact, that was what precipitated the War of Independence. When British occupying forces set out to seize New Englanders’ arms depots at Lexington and Concord, the colonists drew a line in the sand. They understood that without firearms, they would lose any leverage they might have with their masters. They understood that without firearms, they would be hapless subjects of tyrannical government forever.

A new generation of Americans find themselves in just that predicament again, as Barack Obama puts on a full-court press to ban entire classifications of firearms leading inevitably to a government monopoly on force.

He’s appealing to emotion, and, for many Americans, dumbed down by government education and cultural institutions that place no value on freedom and personal responsibility, it’s working.

Yes, children were slaughtered at Newtown, Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School. But not one of those children would have been saved by Obama’s gun grab. To many Americans, that doesn’t matter. They just feel that something must be done.

What they don’t understand is that they are helping to set up more carnage, more Sandy Hooks, more bloodshed and, ultimately, the end of government accountability to its citizenry.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a Ph.D. in history to know that every mass-murdering tyranny in the history of the world started like this. They began with a government monopoly on force. Once that is established, the citizenry is no longer served by government, government is served by its subjects.

Rand Paul's Travels with Birthers

While preparing up for the 2016 presidential election, Rand Paul visited Israel in a trip that “was arranged by the American Family Association and included 53 prominent evangelicals and conservative activists.”

This wouldn’t be the first time the far-right AFA worked closely with a potential Republican presidential candidate, as the group also put together Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s “The Response” prayer rally that he used as a springboard into the presidential race.

Guests included top Religious Right organizer David Lane, anti-gay activist Tamara Scott of Concerned Women for America and birther leader Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily. Farah praised Paul in his column today and saluted his opposition to foreign aid and marriage equality.

Farah’s participation is not surprising as the American Family Association also peddles similar conspiracies.

Farah and AFA spokesman Bryan Fischer have blamed the Sandy Hook shooting on the lack of school prayer, endorsed birther conspiracies, likened gays to terrorists and the Taliban, seek to restrict Muslim immigration and predicted that the Obama administration will use special security forces to persecute political opponents.

Of course, Rand Paul certainly won’t be the only potential GOP presidential candidate to court extremists like Farah and the AFA as more Republicans gear up to run.

Bachmann, Blunt and Cantor Listed as Special Guests at Religious Right Inauguration Event

The organizers of the so-called Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, which is not an official inauguration event, are touting the participation of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO). Others slated to make an appearance alongside these Republican leaders include televangelist Pat Robertson, musician and conservative activist Pat Boone and birther leader Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily.

The keynote speaker will be Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, who believes that the Bible prophesied the September 11, 2001 attacks, the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers and America’s imminent destruction due to “tolerance for immorality,” teaching “sexual immorality in public schools,” abortion rights and Obama. Cahn believes that America is experiencing divine punishment and has shared his message with right-wing broadcasters like Robertson, Glenn Beck, Sid Roth, Jan Markell and Jim Bakker. Farah even made a movie about Cahn’s book.

Cahn told Robertson towards the end of his 700 Club interview that America has between ten to twenty years before God destroys the country:

Religious Right Reacts to Sandy Hook Shooting by Blaming Lack of Government-Dictated School Prayer

Bryan Fischer, Mike Huckabee and James Dobson’s claims that the school shooting in Connecticut represents God’s judgment on the U.S. are no anomalies. Indeed, many other Religious Right commentators have also claimed that the Sandy Hook shooting is part of divine punishment.

David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network defended Fischer and Huckabee’s statements that the prohibition on state-mandated school prayer was responsible for the shootings:

Guess what folks? Huckabee and Fischer are not alone. There are millions of evangelicals who believe the same thing. This is not heartless. It’s based on the biblical principle of reaping and sowing. Not that these little children sowed anything but are our schools left unprotected because of the past actions of our nation when it comes to removing God from our public schools?

The conversation is now all about banning guns but should the conversation really be about allowing God back into public schools? Food for thought. It's a discussion worth having.

Connecticut Pastor Clive Calver in Charisma similarly argued that the shooting is a “wake-up call” from God to secular New Englanders:

Our prayer is that this evil, this unspeakable horror, would be the turning point for what God is doing in New England. We’ve spent the last nearly eight years here, breaking up the land and laying seed for a harvest—or revival in New England.

Maybe, just maybe, this is the wake-up call. Maybe, just maybe, this is when the church springs into action, being the hands and feet of Jesus and shining His light in this darkness. People here need Jesus and it’s our job to introduce Him to them.

Charisma’s news editor Jennifer LeClaire maintained that state-sponsored prayers in public schools “could have prevented” the shooting:

But if God is for us, who can be against us? I believe God has been waiting for His people to rise up with a unified voice of righteousness against the immorality in this nation. I believe God has been patient through our prayerlessness. And I believe if we set our hearts toward reinstituting Christian prayer in schools it could help fuel the prophesied Great Awakening in this generation.

Some experts are reporting that nothing could have prevented the Newtown school shooting. Again, I beg to differ. I think prayer could have prevented it. And I think reinstating prayer in public schools can prevent the next mass murdering from stepping foot on campus and prematurily ending more innocent lives.

So, in the wake of yet another tragedy, can we please put prayer back in schools now?

William Murray of Government Is Not God PAC also said the lack of government-dictated prayer in public schools is to blame:

In the vast majority of America’s public schools, the authority of God has been replaced with the authority of the iron fist of government. Morals? Without the authority of God, there are no morals, and none are taught in the public schools today. The ethics that are taught are situational, perhaps the same situational ethics that led to the logic that caused the tragic shootings in Newtown.

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah claimed the shooting was God’s judgment over America’s “abandonment of God and His righteous laws” and for apparently following the path of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union:

But, of course, that’s just a Band-Aid on a culture mortally wounded by its abandonment of God and His righteous laws.

And that’s why we all need to expect more Sandy Hooks, not fewer.

What should we expect when we not only prohibit weapons of self-defense in our schools, but when we banish the Creator from them?

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court decisions that removed prayer from the public schools of America. Just look what has happened since. It’s not that God is exacting punishment on America as a result. He is giving America over to the desires of its wicked heart.

Think of the societies and governments that have chosen this path before us – Hitler’s Germany, Stalin’s Soviet Union, Mao’s China. Were those societies better off as a result? Or were their judgments quickened? Did the bloodshed cease? Or did it increase beyond the imagination of anyone except the tyrants who imposed it?

I don’t fear guns. But I do fear the wrath of a God who turns His back on a nation like America has turned its back on Him.

How many more Sandy Hooks do we need to see before we realize something has gone very wrong in America?

Farah: Curtail Muslim Immigration

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah has been touting a WND/Wenzel Strategies poll purporting to find that many Muslim-Americans want the imposition of Sharia law, contradicting other studies which found extremely low support for radical views among Muslims in the U.S. Should the results of a Wenzel Strategies survey be trusted?

The polling firm gave Todd Akin the lead in his Senate race (he lost by 16%), claimed Mitt Romney and Republican Senate candidates would win in Ohio and Virginia (they lost) and promoted birther conspiracies. The firm even alleged that polls showing President Obama ahead were skewed to favor Obama (they weren’t) because they employ biased college students and intentionally ignore Tea Partiers. After the election, the firm’s head said Obama only won because his supporters are dumb.

But while speaking to fellow anti-Muslim activist Erik Stackelbeck of the Christian Broadcasting Network, Farah said that the poll proves that the U.S. should rethink allowing Muslim immigration, to which Stakelbeck agreed:

Farah: I think it’s time for us to really think about our immigration laws because if we want to preserve our Judeo-Christian institutions in this country, our culture, our laws, our Constitution, do we really want to have an open borders policy for Muslims who just don’t see it that way? They have a completely different worldview.

Remember when Donald Trump swung the election to Mitt Romney and led to the collapse of the Obama reelection campaign with his “big announcement”? “What difference does it make who won debate? Donald Trump is going to decide the election in 2 days,” WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah wrote at the time. Of course, the much-awaited “big announcement” ended up being a YouTube video of Trump offering to cut a $5 million check to charity if Obama released his college applications and transcripts. Obama’s decision to decline Trump’s benevolent offer,... MORE >

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah is upset about “the recent flood of self-outings” by gay athletes. In a column today, Farah suggests that gay athletes stay closeted, while at the same time wondering “why the announcement of a preference and practice of a certain type of sexual activity is considered a heroic act.” He concludes that since “it is especially cool to be a ‘gay’ athlete,” Americans must be valuing “abhorrent sex” over “innocent children.” In his first major televised interview on the situation on his... Anti-Muslim activist Pamela Geller is outraged that the USC Shoah Foundation, a genocide history project founded by Steven Spielberg, is giving an award to President Obama at its upcoming “Ambassadors for Humanity” gala. Geller, who believes Obama is “single-handedly paving the way for the next holocaust,” told WorldNetDaily that the award “is illustrative of the willful blindness of liberal Jews” who have “traded their religion” and “traded G-d (and their morality)” for political clout. “Shame on Steve Spielberg for rendering... While sitting down with Alex Jones of InfoWars today, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah defended Cliven Bundy but chastised Donald Sterling for his racist remarks. Farah explained that unlike Bundy, Sterling is definitely a racist because he’s a “lifelong Democrat” and a “big time Democrat.” Jones asked, “What would have happened if the owner of the Clippers had been a Republican?”  Unfortunately for Farah and Jones, along with the other conservative activists who picked up this insanely dumb line of argument, Sterling has actually been a... InfoWars host Alex Jones may be feuding with Glenn Beck, but he appears to be emulating the former Fox News pundit’s drift into televangelism. Jones spoke today with WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and the two agreed that the United States is experiencing God’s wrath. “We have become a decadent, wicked country and we’re going to be judged,” Jones said. Farah interjected that “this is judgment, what we’re experiencing now is judgment.” Later, Jones added that “the judgment’s only beginning though, I have a real feeling of dread in... MORE >

While Cliven Bundy’s allies at Fox News have either gone silent or distanced themselves from the lawless rancher after the New York Times reported on his racist rant, the right-wing pundits at WorldNetDaily are standing by their man. After publishing an interview with Alan Keyes that tried to absolve Bundy of racism, WND editor Joseph Farah said that the New York Times must have deliberately misquoted Bundy, calling him an “entrapment target” and victim of a “sting operation.” This was a sting operation by the New York Times. The entrapment target wasn’t... MORE >

Channeling Mike Huckabee, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah writes today that liberalism inevitably leads to “the end of freedom” and “death on a massive scale.” Farah writes that he once “swam in the cesspool” of the progressive movement, and knows how it “works and why it is such an effective weapon of intimidation and coercion.” He goes on to warn that universities have “indoctrinated” students into a “venomous, anti-American and anti-liberty ideology,” arguing that academia is “redefining right and wrong”...
