Religious Right Self-Victimization In Full Force At Values Voter Summit: Fear Of Christian Concentration Camps, Bishops In Jail

After enjoying Glenn Beck’s speech about supposed anti-Christian persecution by the Nazis, participants at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit attended breakout sessions focusing on how Christians in the U.S. are facing repression under President Obama.

In a breakout session entitled “Standing Up To the Assaults On Our Faith,” Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily alleged that the Obama administration’s supposed persecution of Christians is so bad that it is proof we have entered the Tribulation, a key period in the End Times. Farah cited Pope Benedict’s remarks “seemingly embracing homosexuality [and] seemingly embracing universalism” as further evidence of imminent doom.

Political efforts to curb the arrival of the Last Days are so few and far between, Farah said, that Christians can only rely on prayer. He urged attendees to “harness spiritual weapons that give us the real power.” Specifically, Farah called on people to join his 9/11 prayer initiative, which he hopes will guide their spiritual struggle.

Janet Porter [née Folger] also warned that the End Times are upon us, for which she naturally blamed gay people. She repeated her claim that gay marriage was responsible for Noah’s flood and announced a new project with Liberty University’s Judith Reisman to sue schools that “corrupt minors” with LGBT-inclusive curricula.

Vision America’s Rick Scarborough agreed with their dire assessments, saying that “infidels” now pull the strings of government. According to Scarborough, the Obama administration is “hell-bent on silencing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” Christian unity, Scarborough feared, “is not going to happen until a bunch of us are thrown into concentration camps.”

He also concurred with Porter’s anti-gay rhetoric, telling the audience: “You are not born gay, you are recruited.”

The speakers on a later panel, “Where Do We Go From Here? Challenging Tyranny,” were just as pessimistic.

One person in attendance asked a question about the purported takeover of the legal system by “militant homosexual leftists” while another questioner, who said she was from Nigeria, claimed that the Obama administration is even worse than Nigeria’s former military dictatorship.

Kenneth Blackwell, the former Ohio secretary of state now with the Family Research Council, alleged that President Obama, through his supposed abuses of executive power, is giving cover to dictators who hope to undermine the rule of law. He described the President’s actions as a “disservice to humanity.”

Alabama attorney general Luther Strange charged the Obama administration with leading a “direct assault” on religious freedom and claimed that state anti-discrimination laws are inconsistent with the “fundamental fabric of the Constitution.”

Dean Clancy of Freedom Works lamented that the Supreme Court issued “tyrannical” decisions in Roe v. Wade, Lawrence v. Texas and US v. Windsor, accusing the Justices of “imposing [their] radical worldview” on America. To push back against the “tyrants” in “black robes,” he urged conservative activists to push for constitutional amendments to return power to the states.

Both Clancy and co-panelist Terry Jeffrey of CNSNews said that civil disobedience against the Obama administration is on its way.

Jeffrey predicted the imprisonment of Roman Catholic bishops, followed by the laity, under Obama, whom he called an “enemy of our freedom.”

He concluded: “We ought not surrender our souls to Barack Obama.”

Farah: Government May Deny Health Care To Create Society Of 'Dependency And Serfdom'

Taking a page from Bryan Fischer, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah claims that Democrats will use the Affordable Care Act to deny Americans health care so people can never “say no to Washington in the future” because they will be “dependent on government to see a doctor.”

Farah calls for the government to be shut down as long as possible in order to prevent this looming “future dependency and serfdom.”

“In some future conflict within government, how will Americans feel about being deprived of life-saving health care?” Farah asks. “In a future dispute over what deserves funding and what doesn’t, is it hard to imagine another Harry Reid holding Americans hostage by using the government’s monopoly on health care and threatening to shut all medical services down?”

The childish, predictably actions of Obama in scaring Americans and making them feel discomfort during this partial government shutdown only illustrate clearly to anyone with half a brain that this old adage is a truism that applies to the very source of this political showdown.

In some future conflict within government, how will Americans feel about being deprived of life-saving health care?

It’s not a far-fetched scenario.

Harry Reid said he didn’t care about saving the lives of children battling cancer. He wouldn’t vote to fund the program. In a future dispute over what deserves funding and what doesn’t, is it hard to imagine another Harry Reid holding Americans hostage by using the government’s monopoly on health care and threatening to shut all medical services down?

It’s not hard to imagine at all.

It’s as predictable as clockwork if Americans make the mistake of giving Washington this power.

Again, are Americans discerning enough to see what’s happening now and project into the future how government’s stranglehold on health-care options might be used like a sledgehammer to get whatever the Washington power brokers want? Obamacare could, if fully implemented, once and for all change the balance of power in the United States of America between government and the people.

Instead of being a government of the people, for the people and by the people, government would have monopoly power over life-and-death decisions it could hold over the head of its former bosses. Government officials would no longer be servants of the people, they would become their masters.

Do you think Americans are a little bit close to understanding the critical component of what’s at stake in this debate – and how it is evidenced by Obama’s desperate and sometimes shocking abuses of power to see that he gets what he wants?

Today, the government is shut down because of Obamacare. But, as a result of the conflict over Obamacare, we may be getting a glimpse into the future and the consequences of what the next government shutdown will cost all Americans. Imagine the next government shutdown. Imagine the next fight over a debt-limit increase. Will Americans dare to say no to Washington in the future when they are dependent on government to see a doctor?

Better to say no now.

Better to keep it shut down than acquiesce into future dependency and serfdom. This may be our last chance to preserve the U.S. as a unique and lasting experiment in self-government, limited government, the rule of law and the will of the people.

Farah: Navy Yard Shooting Part of Obama's Plan to 'Render the Population Helpless' Before Government

In his WorldNetDaily column today, Joseph Farah hints at what you might call a false-flag lite theory on last week’s Navy Yard shooting. While stopping short of saying that the Obama administration deliberately staged the attack, as Fox News regular Erik Rush quickly did on Twitter, Farah speculates that the mass shooting was all part of President Obama’s plan to “disarm Americans” and “control the population from the top-down.”

“This is going to sound brutishly harsh and judgmental,” Farah writes, “but, I believe, he is consciously using the escalation of violence his anti-gun policies knowingly and predictably cause to render the population helpless before a government with a monopoly on force.”

“Sometimes I fear there is a creeping resignation that these tragedies are just somehow the way it is,” he said at the outdoor service at Marine Barracks Washington, less than three blocks from the base where three women and nine men died in the recent Navy Yard attack. “We must insist here today there is nothing normal about innocent men and women being gunned down where they work.”

He couldn’t be more wrong.

It is normal to see increases in gun violence against the innocent when you strip them of their means of self-protection. What is so difficult to understand about that? It literally invites gun violence from those who are not law-abiding and who desire to inflict harm on others.

Unlike many of my friends, I don’t believe Obama is stupid. Nor do I believe he is incompetent. I believe he has another motive to disarm Americans – one that has nothing to do with safety. It’s about control of the population from the top-down. This is going to sound brutishly harsh and judgmental, but, I believe, he is consciously using the escalation of violence his anti-gun policies knowingly and predictably cause to render the population helpless before a government with a monopoly on force.

Again, let’s look at who the shooter was in the Navy Yard attack.

He has repeatedly broken gun laws. He was never prosecuted.

He was stark, raving bonkers, and the Navy Yard was even warned about him by Rhode Island police. Nobody paid attention.

He used a shotgun, the kind of self-defense weapons recommended by none other than Vice President Joe Biden. He still managed to kill 12 people and injure many more.

Isn’t it obvious all of the prescriptions of the Obama administration and the gun-grabbing crowd are doing exactly what they are intended to do?

Right Wing Leftovers - 9/20/13

  • It looks like Joseph Farah's "9/11 National Day of Prayer and Repentance" is going to be an annual thing.
  • Tony Perkins continues to blame the SPLC for last year's shooting at FRC headquarters.
  • Ted Baehr knows how to stop mass shooting like the one this week at the Navy Yard: "We must end the arbitrary judicial bans on religious and moral teaching in our schools that deprive America’s children of the Ten Commandments that God gave Moses and the Hebrew people on Mount Sinai and the teachings that Jesus Christ gave his disciples in the Sermon on the Mount in Chapters Five through Seven of the Gospel of Matthew and in Chapters 13 through 17 of the Gospel of John."
  • Speaking of the Navy Yard shooting, Rob Schenck says it turned out to be a good opportunity for him to spread the Gospel: "What had begun as a horrible tragedy became a wonderful opportunity to show the love of God, to turn attention to our only true source of help in times of desperation, and to point hearts and minds to the only Savior of humankind."
  • Finally, Matt Barber says President Obama is "creating a constitutional crisis here because he is violating the Constitution" by letting gay couples take advantage of federal benefits.

  • Even though Sen. Tim Scott turned down an invitation to Wednesday’s March on Washington event, conservatives won’t stop falsely accusing march organizers of not inviting him.
  • Joseph Farah is sad that Americans no longer “burst out in laughter” over the “preposterous” idea of same-sex marriage.
  • Russell Moore wants Religious Right activists to “prepare” to live “in a post-Bible Belt America” as they can no longer “assume that we are a moral majority in this country.”

Joseph Farah Blames Florida Facebook Murder on Liberals, of Course

WorldNetDaily founder Joseph Farah dedicates his column today to the Florida man who allegedly killed his wife and then posted a picture of her dead body on Facebook, which Farah of course argues is all the fault of liberals. Farah writes that the murder, which was all over the news, was in fact “not even news” because, in the words of Farah’s brother David, “our politically correctly liberal culture is condoning and glorifying all of this and calling it ‘tolerance.’”

The argument is hard to summarize because it makes no sense, so we’ll let the Farah brothers take it from here:

“On his Facebook page, Medina claimed to be a supervisor at a property management company and to have appeared in the Miami-based crime drama ‘Burn Notice,’ though his name doesn’t appear in online credits for the show. But he’s out there bragging: ‘I was on TV! I was on “Burn Notice”! I killed my wife; I put it on Facebook! Hey, Facebook friends, I’ll he see you later! You’ll be seeing a lot of me!’ My brother, David, sent me a note. He says, ‘You’re right about one thing, wrong about the other. We’re experiencing no greater depravity today than ever. It’s the same, because human nature is human nature.’

“Then he said, ‘I think there is a striking difference now in America, in that our politically correctly liberal culture is condoning and glorifying all of this and calling it ‘tolerance,’ and you know, that is right. That sort of rings the bell for me. That’s what it is. It’s not that it’s happening; it’s always happened, this kind of depravity. ‘There’s nothing new since Genesis.’ You’ve heard the old thing. What is bothering me is that it doesn’t bother as many people.

“It’s [Daniel Patrick] Moynihan, the ‘defining deviancy down’ business, and we end up condoning this stuff – and if we don’t condone it, we glorify it, because the left wants to take every one of these acts of depravity and use it to advance their agenda or an element of their agenda, such as guns or what have you. ‘We have to understand the rage,’ it’s said. ‘We have to be tolerant of people who have come from unfortunate, low-class socioeconomic circumstances.’

“It’s called tolerance and acceptance and understanding, rather than some of this stuff being condemned and dealt with, and that’s what’s disturbing. Then you add to it that the secular left, the people that traffic and love immortality, love throwing standards out the window; they don’t want any standards. That’s exactly what it is. It is the lack of being shocked, lack of revulsion, and even the laughing at and acceptance of this stuff. ”

Rush used the word “depraved.” He also described the news item as an example of the way “the descent our culture is taking [us] toward the sewer.” All of this is very accurate.

But we should recognize it for what it is: “The descent into depravity.” Of course ugly, sinful, immoral and repugnant behavior has been going on since Genesis. But today, it’s normal. It’s not even news.

And that’s how a nation, a culture, a society descends into depravity.

Right Wing Leftovers - 8/12/13

  • Ben Shapiro and David Horowitz are teaming up to launch a right-wing version of Media Matters that will "unmask leftists in the media for who they are, destroy their credibility with the American public, and devastate their funding bases." We are sure it will be a smashing success.
  • It looks like Ohio's "Heartbeat Bill" will be resurrected next week.
  • Religious Right activists have launched a campaign to oppose San Antonio's proposed anti-discrimination ordinance and are presumably intentionally trying to mislead people by calling their effort the "San Antonio Human Rights Coalition."
  • It is important to realize that Joseph Farah's 9/11 prayer effort is entirely rooted in the idea that America failed to properly humble itself before God following the 2001 attacks, which were God's judgment upon us.
  • Finally, Glenn Beck's The Blaze has spent the last week writing about a "mystery priest" who showed up at a car accident and blessed the victim and the rescue workers and then disappeared, which meant that he was probably an angel ... or, more accurately, just a local priest.

Bauer: Anti-Gay Activists May Be Thrown in Jail Following DOMA Ruling

Gary Bauer is joining other anti-gay activists in warning that they should prepare to face jail time as a result of gay rights victories at the Supreme Court. In the Washington Times today, Bauer claims that people who oppose same-sex marriage will “find themselves in court” and religious people may soon be “fined or jailed” because of their views.

The ultimate goal of homosexual-rights activists is not to legalize same-sex marriage. Rather, it is to silence those who disagree with them and, if necessary, to throw them in jail. In a world in which the biblical viewpoint of marriage is demonized, it does not take a constitutional scholar to predict that soon those who hold that view will find themselves in court.

How did we get to the point where homosexual-rights activists would be clamoring to redefine society’s oldest and most reliable institution and people of faith would be worried about being fined or jailed for teaching their faith?

A lot had to happen, and it’s not all the left’s fault. It took the breakdown of traditional marriage. It took churches deciding that they could accommodate the homosexual culture or ignore it altogether. It took businesses placing their bottom lines ahead of morality. It took politicians who assured voters on the campaign trail that they would protect marriage and then did nothing to keep their promises once they arrived in Washington.

As a society, we have lost the understanding of what marriage is and what the consequences will be if we redefine it. Nobody has the right to redefine marriage. Doing so ignores research that makes clear that children do best when raised by a mother and a father. Nobody has the right to force children to grow up without the unique contributions that a mother and a father provide.

Not to be outdone, Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily claims the Supreme Court may take away Christians’ right to vote:

Now where do we go from here?

What’s next?

It’s obvious, isn’t it?

The Supreme Court virtually declared an open season on those with whom the 5-4 majority disagree.

We are no longer relevant. What we think no longer counts. We are, after all, bigots who only want to demean homosexuals.

So when does the persecution begin?

When are we stripped of our citizen status, the right to vote, the right to bear arms and other constitutionally guaranteed liberties? Isn’t that next?

If not, why not?

It was just 10 years ago to the day of this decision that the Supreme Court issued another sweeping ruling in the Lawrence v. Texas case. It struck down anti-sodomy laws in that state and, effectively, across the country.

Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in his dissent in that case that the ruling would inevitably lead to same-sex marriage and polygamy. The cultural establishment scoffed at that opinion. It mocked Scalia. Why?

Because only 10 years ago, the notion of same-sex marriage was practically unheard of. It was a laughable proposition.

That’s how quickly the 6,000-year-old institution of marriage was officially and arbitrarily redefined with the imprimatur of five high priests and priestesses wearing black robes.

Will it take another 10 years for the retribution against marriage defenders to begin? I doubt it. My guess is the plans are already being drafted.

As for me and my house, however, we will continue to serve the Lord – the author of marriage and everything else.

Joseph Farah Finds 'Little Comfort' In Saying 'I Told You So'

WorldNetDaily founder and prolific conspiracy theorist Joseph Farah has a message for America: “See, I told you so.”

In a WND column Tuesday, Farah writes that he takes “little comfort” in reminding us that he warned us of “radical, Chicago-style gangster” President Obama’s “Marxist connections” and “cover-up of his eligibility problems,” only to be ignored by the “low-information voters” who reelected him.

The result, Farah writes, is “three of the biggest political scandals in American history,” a health care reform law that “will result needlessly in immense pain, death and suffering,” and a president whose “enemies include the Constitution of the United States.”

Farah writes that the only solution, as he has said before, is his upcoming  9/11 day of prayer, which is also being promoted by Rep. Michele Bachmann.

It gives me little comfort to say, “See, I told you so.”

Starting in 2008, there were many voices warning what an administration headed by a radical, Chicago-style gangster like Barack Obama would mean for America. But none of those voices were as relentless and prolific as WND.

We exposed his background.

We exposed his associations.

We exposed his policy positions as a “community organizer,” an Illinois state senator and during his brief career as a U.S. senator.

We exposed the lies in his books.

We exposed the still-unanswered questions and cover-up of his eligibility problems.

We exposed his Marxist connections, appointments and leanings in “The Manchurian President.”

And we continued by exposing what he would do in a second term if he got the chance in “Fool Me Twice,” a book, by the way, as relevant today as the day it was published in 2012.

We hoped for the best, but, at the end of the day, “the low-information voters” prevailed.

Am I surprised Obama is now simultaneously caught up in three of the biggest political scandals in American history?

No.

I’m surprised it took this long.

It’s in Barack Obama’s nature and character to do “whatever is necessary” to prevail over his enemies. And his enemies include the Constitution of the United States.

Will the dysfunctional political system and the dysfunctional media do what needs to be done?

I hope so. But I can’t help but think Obama and all he has wrought on America – including a health-care system that violates the consciences of Americans and will result needlessly in immense pain, death and suffering – actually represent justice for the country. We’re getting just what we deserve – not only because we allowed him to be elected twice, but because Americans have lost their moral bearings.

Obama is only a symptom of the disease that plagues us.

We can’t win unless we recognize that what we are seeing happen to America is part of a divine judgment of those who were given so much, who were so blessed by God, yet turned our collective backs on Him.

Our nation is literally imploding morally and spiritually. Every man and woman does what’s right in his own eyes. The church is asleep.

Do you want to see miracles happen in America? Do you want to see the nation restored? Do you want to see us return to the godly principles that shaped the nation and provided blessings beyond imagination to us all for so long?

I am persuaded this is the way.

I hope and pray you will join me.

If you do, I look forward to saying, “See, I told you so!”

Joseph Farah's 9/11 Day of Prayer is Your Last Chance to Save America

WorldNetDaily founder Joseph Farah is organizing a National Day of Prayer and Fasting on September 11, and it’s kind of a big deal.

In fact, as Farah told Rick Wiles yesterday, it’s “our last chance” to save America from God’s judgment.

Speaking with Farah on his TruNews program, Wiles declared that America has gone “over a cliff” and “the next sound we’re going to hear will be the splat.” Farah’s day of prayer, then, is “a matter of life and death.” Farah agreed, adding, “It’s our last chance.”

In a video introducing the day of prayer, Farah warns that American politics and “cultural institutions like the media, Hollywood, academia, science, foundations, etc.” have all “become judgments on a country that has lost its moral bearings.”

In his interview with Wiles, Farah noted that he’s sick of people blaming President Obama bringing for God’s judgment on America. Instead, he said, the president is “part of the judgment.” Wiles agreed, adding, “He is the judgment. He is the pharaoh.”

Wiles: I used to say we’re going to go over the cliff. We’re over the cliff. We went over the cliff. We are in the air. We are going down now.

Farah: We’re like Wile E. Coyote when he goes off the cliff and he looks down until he recognizes it,  that’s when he falls.

Wiles: That’s where we’re at, and the next sound we’re going to hear will be the splat. And I don’t know if very many Christians are fully aware that we’ve already gone over the cliff. You know, people talk about the fiscal cliff, but what about the morality cliff? We’ve gone over the morality cliff and we’re now dropping. And we are at the state where if there is not a miracle, a sovereign act of the Holy God to stop this, then we are going to smack the ground. There is no doubt we are already descending. And so, this is a matter of life and death. This isn’t, ‘Oh, Joseph Farah’s got a nice idea, we ought to gather together and have prayer and fasting, isn’t that a cute little idea.’ No, this is life and death!

Farah: Right, I’ve heard this before, this kind of thing. It can’t be like that. This is our last chance.

Wiles: Yes!

Farah: I mean, that’s the way I feel about it, it’s our last chance. And by the way, it’s not a one-day thing. Something, you know, I remember when I first floated this idea, I got tremendous reaction from people, they loved it, they were enthusiastic, but their response was, ‘Why do we have to wait until 9/11?’ And my response to them, as many as I could respond to, was simply this: ‘You’ve got to prepare yourself for this.’ I’m just thinking to myself, I have a lot to repent for. And, you know, it might take me five months to get into that state of full and total humility and repentance. That’s what we have to be doing right now, cleaning our own act up, not pointing fingers at everybody else, you know, ‘Obama’s doing this to us’ and…You know, Obama’s part of the judgment.

Wiles: That’s right. He is the judgment. He’s our pharaoh.

Farah: Marriage Equality Will Put America in 'The Dustbin of History'

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah today promoted his 9/11 National Day of Prayer event by warning that a Supreme Court decision in favor of marriage equality will mean that the high court is “legally destroying the very building block of our civilization.” Farah claims that such a ruling will make America fall “into oligarchy and tyranny” and eventually “the dustbin of history like so many empires before it.”

In a few weeks, the U.S. Supreme [sic] will make rulings in two cases that will determine whether America continues as a self-governing nation under the rule of law and will of the people or it goes the way of most other countries and descends into oligarchy and tyranny.

That is what the stakes are in rulings the justices will make on the definition of marriage.

There hasn’t been a more important Supreme Court ruling since Roe v. Wade. Not even Obamacare was this big. Both of those went very badly because of the rulings of justices named to the high court by Republicans. In this case, it will take a straight flush by justices named by Republicans to save America from legally destroying the very building block of our civilization.

I know I have been asking for prayer frequently during these trying days. I’m encouraged by the feedback I have received from thousands to my plea for a 9/11 National Day of Prayer and Fasting.

But I am convinced that without it, this country is headed for the dustbin of history like so many empires before it.

This is no idle request. It’s our only chance for survival. Government is broken. Politics is broken. The culture is broken. God is simply waiting to hear our fervent cries of repentance and deliverance.

Brody and Farah Dismiss Jason Collins, Upset Over Gay Acceptance

Reacting yesterday to NBA player Jason Collins’ coming out, the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody argued that it doesn’t take much courage to come out these days because being gay is “hip,” “chic” and “the thing to do.” Of course, if Brody’s boss Pat Robertson had his way, Collins would be completely shunned by society.

Just a thought on the Jason Collins story. I’m not denying it took some guts to come out as gay when you’re a professional sports player but let’s also get a little perspective here. Polls in America now show a majority of Americans support gay marriage (53%) and 54% think being gay is morally acceptable behavior. So it’s not like Jason Collins is in the minority of public opinion. He’s actually now among the majority in this country! It would have been one thing if he had done this a few years ago but now? C’mon. What he did is so “chic” right? We are told it’s now ok to be gay right? It’s hip! We’ve got NBA players commending him today not shunning him. Where is the adversity? He's being treated as a hero by most people not an outcast.

So while I understand that when you’re the first to do something you get a lot of attention, let’s be real here. Jason Collins came out as gay at a time in American culture when it is relatively safe to do so. It’s the thing to do! Excuse me if I don’t attend the Ticker Tape Parade on this.

Meanwhile, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah praised ESPN commentator Chris Broussard for attacking Collins and lamented the current “obsession” over making “heroes out of people because of their sexual proclivities.”

So far, only one person knowledgeable in sports has had the guts to say what is really going on here – Chris Broussard, an NBA analyst on ESPN whose job might very well be in danger for stating his honest opinion. Broussard, a Christian, said that living openly as a homosexual is a sin and that doing so was “walking in open rebellion to God and Jesus Christ.”

Now that takes courage. These days, that’s risky business.

There’s little need for Collins to worry about media reaction or how most NBA stars will react to the big announcement. They’ve already been put on notice by the sport cartel that showers them in tens of millions and sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars to run up and down a basketball court.

Whether or not Collins ever plays professional basketball or not, you can be assured he will not suffer. There will be book contracts, movie deals and lots of personal appearances.

Who says sin doesn’t pay?

And what can one say about the obsession by people like the Obamas and the Clintons in making heroes out of people because of their sexual proclivities?

Bachmann Endorses WND Prayer Event that Likens Homosexuality to Terrorism

Michele Bachmann has heartily endorsed the WorldNetDaily prayer effort to mark the anniversary of the September 11 attacks by praying against terrorism, nuclear war and homosexuality. WND editor and birther leader Joseph Farah claimed today that the day of prayer is needed to stop comprehensive immigration reform, the government’s supposed plans to stockpile weapons to “impose de facto firearms restrictions on citizens” and gay rights advocates who seek to “make the citizenry of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.”

Have you ever had the feeling the nation is on the brink of utter disaster?

Has that feeling ever been stronger than it is right now?

• It turns out that after spending hundreds of billions on foreign wars and nearly an equal amount on a new bureaucracy called the Department of Homeland Security, Americans are just as vulnerable to Islamic terrorist attacks as they were on 9/11.

• For days that seemed like weeks, the systematically disarmed residents of the Boston and Cambridge area cowered in their homes and hid in their closets in fear of one armed and dangerous terrorist presumed to have been involved in the Boston Marathon bombing.

• Sometimes it seems the war on terrorism is really a war on the people of the United States and, particularly, on their liberty, as DHS and other agencies target entire classifications of law-abiding Americans rather than those who pose the gravest threat.

• Even when the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate narrowly rejects harsh gun-control legislation, the DHS and other government agencies impose de facto firearms restrictions on citizens by buying up billions of rounds of ammunition, thus removing them from the free marketplace where they could be used for citizen self-defense.

• As the economy continues its five-year cycle of sputtering, the government continues unchecked in its policy of insanely unsustainable borrowing and spending.

• North Korea is threatening all-out nuclear war against South Korea as well as intercontinental ballistic missile attacks against the U.S.

• Iran continues to build a nuclear arsenal of its own while periodically threatening Israel and the U.S., which it still regards as “the little Satan” and “the great Satan.”

• The U.S. continues its slide from moral malaise to cultural hedonism that makes the late 1960s look like the 1950s by comparison, as support for “same-sex marriage” grows, the horrors of the “abortion on demand” crusade are revealed in a Philadelphia courtroom sans media coverage and an epidemic of sex abuse against children by schoolteachers, clergy and scoutmasters is not only ignored but results in capitulation by the Boy Scouts of America to the demands of those who would make the citizenry of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.

• Most of the U.S. press, once considered an important watchdog institution against government fraud, waste, abuse and corruption, has become a disinformation factory – out of touch with the values of the people, the principles upon which the country was established and even the rule of law that specifically guards the media’s own freedom.

• As the country becomes more divided culturally and jobs become harder to find for Americans, one of the highest priorities of the ruling elite in Washington is to ensure that tens of millions of illegal aliens already in the country are permitted to stay, while its calls for amnesty and an open border virtually invite more to emigrate, while rolling out the red carpet for terrorist enemies to enter in their wake.

Do I paint an accurate picture, or do I exaggerate?

It all suggests to me something’s got to give – that we are reaching a breaking point for America.

Is there any conceivable way “politics” as usual can save the country from disaster?

I honestly believe it’s our last and only hope for saving America from catastrophe.

Joseph Farah on His Friendship with Rand Paul and Why Ron Paul Isn't A Christian

Speaking to End Times radio broadcaster Jan Markell, WorldNetDaily editor and birther leader Joseph Farah described his recent tour of Israel with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), which was organized by the American Family Association and included a number of Religious Right activists.

Farah described a cozy relationship with Paul, whose staff he says reached out to him to come on the trip. But Farah did not have kind words for the senator’s father, former congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul, whom he claimed is not a real Christian.

“Ron Paul is hardly a friend to Israel and I don’t think that he is a Christian,” Farah said. “I don’t think he has a Christian worldview.”

Farah said that unlike his father, Rand Paul “understands the threat that the Muslim world holds not only against Israel but against us.” He added that he and the senator prayed together at the Western Wall and that the senator had a “spiritual journey” while in Israel.

I had the privilege of traveling to Israel with Rand Paul and spending a lot of time with him there. I was asked to go on the tour; his staff asked me to come on the tour because I think they wanted to hear the Israel point of view from an Arab-American journalist as opposed to just Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders and so forth and so I was able to do that. I also was very impressed with the fact that Rand Paul is not his father; I want to say that unequivocally.

I had many, many problems with Ron Paul. I do believe that Ron Paul is hardly a friend to Israel and I don’t think that he is a Christian; I don’t think he has a Christian worldview. Now, I admire Ron Paul’s economic policies, there were many things that he did throughout his career that I think were terrific. Rand Paul to me, I’m not endorsing him, I’m just telling you what I know and what I got to know from personal experience with him, is a believer. He went to Israel and he had a spiritual journey there that was very, very meaningful to him. I got to pray with him at the Western Wall. We went to visit all of the holy sites in Israel. It was with his wife and younger children, it was a moving experience for them, an unforgettable, life-changing kind of experience.

I got to grill him pretty intensively. I can sincerely say that I believe he thinks Israel is at least one of our best friends in the world if not our best friend. That’s a big, big difference from his father. He understands the threat that the Muslim world holds not only against Israel but against us. That’s a big difference from what his father said and understood.

And in case we had forgotten what a fervent conspiracy theorist Farah is, earlier in the show he told Markell that the country may soon become a dictatorship.

Markell: Do you think America is headed for a dictatorship? If so, what do you tell Christians who are watching their country morph into something unrecognizable?

Farah: I do believe we’re headed in that direction. Do I believe it’s irreversible? Absolutely not. I cling to 2 Chronicles 7:14; I cling to the idea that there can be a real revival in this country; I cling to the idea that Christians are going to awaken to what’s going on around them; and I cling to the idea that the Holy Spirit can move at any time and help us save ourselves from that terrible outcome. However, there’s no question that we’re moving closer and closer to tyranny, police state kinds of conditions. We’re seeing evidence all the time, the gun confiscation mania is just one of many examples.

Farah: 'Dangerous and Totalitarian' Gays Seek 'the Active Recruitment of Children'

Joseph Farah writes today that lawmakers in California and New Jersey who are pushing limits on ex-gay therapy are “promoting sexual anarchy” and “child abuse.” The virluently anti-gay WorldNetDaily editor warns that the “homosexual lobby” is “dangerous and totalitarian in nature” and seeks the “the active recruitment of children into aberrant sexual lifestyles.”

At the same time American society takes this anything-goes approach to sexuality, there is one new glaring taboo being constructed in some states: Counseling and therapy for minors who want to change their sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Such legislation was passed by the California Legislature before being struck down by the courts.

But now similar legislation is being introduced in New Jersey, in what can fairly be described as the next big push by those promoting sexual anarchy in America.

This is an illustration of just how dangerous and totalitarian in nature the homosexual lobby truly is.

What’s happening in our society today is nothing short of the active recruitment of children into aberrant sexual lifestyles. We once called this child abuse. But today it’s official state policy. The next step, which may have been unimaginable a few years ago, is to ensure there’s no way out for those recruits.

Parents and children shouldn’t have an opportunity to explore their options in enjoying a heterosexual lifestyle. Change only works one way, according to these fiends.

Think about this: Children molested by same-sex adults are much more likely to adopt a same-sex attraction. Sometimes all those kids need is some counseling to overcome their victimization. That would be legally prohibited by the legislation now under consideration in New Jersey and the legislation passed in California.

The homosexual movement once claimed its supreme goal was to ensure that its constituents could do what they want in the privacy of their own bedrooms. That was a lie. Now they parade their sexual proclivities in our streets and in the “gay”-friendly media. It’s no longer an alternative lifestyle; it’s quickly becoming the preferred lifestyle, the brave new lifestyle, the hip and heroic lifestyle, the affirmative-action lifestyle.

Now the homosexual movement and its allies in the popular culture, media and politics are seeking to use the police power of the state to make sure there’s no return from a “choice” made even as a child. Once “gay,” always “gay” is their credo.

Anti-Gay Activists Attack Rob Portman's Son's 'Disorder' and 'Abhorrent Lifestyle'

Last week, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman announced that, inspired by his son’s coming out, he now supports marriage equality. Religious Right activists are, of course, responding with a characteristic lack of tact and grace.

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber, for example, denounced Portman for trying to “accommodate his son’s abhorrent lifestyle.”

“... Perhaps [the senator’s] love for his son has deceived him in not being able to differentiate between loving his son and helping his son to do the right thing, versus changing his entire worldview and his view of the natural institution of legitimate marriage in order to accommodate his son's abhorrent lifestyle,” says Barber.

Portman told reporters his previous views on marriage were rooted in his Methodist faith and his change of heart came because of "the Bible's overarching themes of love and compassion." Barber challenges that interpretation.

“This provides us a perfect example of the danger of looking at things through the jaundiced prism of our own feelings rather than on objective truths,” says the Liberty Counsel attorney.

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah wondered how Portman would respond if his son came out as a serial killer:

I’ve heard some wacky excuses by politicians for changing their minds on some of the most important moral issues facing American, but Ohio Sen. Rob Portman’s rationale for flip-flopping on same-sex marriage takes the proverbial wedding cake.

In case you haven’t heard, his son is a homosexual.

“I have come to believe that if two people are prepared to make a lifetime commitment to love and care for each other in good times and in bad, the government shouldn’t deny them the opportunity to get married,” Portman wrote in a commentary published Friday in the Columbus Dispatch.

I guess we should all be grateful Rob Portman’s son didn’t choose to become a polygamist or a serial killer.

People like Todd Akin and Steve King don’t represent a threat to the future of the Republican Party. People like Rob Portman and Karl Rove represent a clear and present danger to its future.

What they are pushing is not liberty, it is licentiousness. What they are pushing is not morality, it is moral relativism. What they are pushing is not the kind of virtue and personal responsibility that makes self-government possible, it is the kind of pop-culture immorality that makes self-government impossible.

Ohio-based activist Linda Harvey, president of Mission America, lamented Portman’s decision to support his “rebellious” son’s “disorder” and “delusion”:

It’s not that I can’t empathize with the position his son has put him in. Every parent hopes never to face a rebellious child. But Portman has decided not to call this rebellion. Whether it was pressure from his wife or some kind of ultimatum by his son, Portman now issues editorial statements that ring with “gay marriage” advocacy. What a slam on Ohio families!

He opines about “civil marriage rights” as if they don’t exist now. These unions will be a stabilizing force bringing “renewed strength” to the institution, he thinks – but Portman is either woefully uninformed or deliberately ignores the mounting evidence against these lifestyles and the political militancy they are unleashing . There is no excuse for a sitting senator to jump on board a movement that viciously targets challengers, forces indoctrination of children in taxpayer- funded schools and bullies the corporate culture as well as the Boy Scouts into bowing before its altar of deviance.

And it’s so unnecessary. Every person out there who claims a “gay” identity has the ability to get married in Ohio or anywhere else now. He or she can marry someone of the opposite sex, because that’s what marriage is and because a “gay” identity is a delusion. Two men, no matter how sincere they feel, or two women, will never be a marriage. The person who believes this disorder is “who he is,” as apparently Portman’s son does, has tragically internalized a lie.

The deception of the culture is easy to accommodate if your principles are weak at the core. Homosexual feelings may seem unchosen, but we do have a choice about what fantasies and desires we nurture and feed. And we always have a choice about public identity and behavior.

His son needs to hear the hope of change and the stories of the thousands of former homosexuals in this country. But his father is apparently not going to tell him. How sad!

Right Wing Leftovers - 3/13/13

  • A new Pope has been selected and Erick Erickson adores him already.
  • You'd think that a movie about the wonders of capitalism would take the hint that the market is not interested, but no, "Atlas Shrugged" will get a third installment.
  • Joseph Farah says child sacrifice and same-sex marriage "are linked. They are inextricably linked as behaviors characterized as abominations by the God of the Bible. They both emerge right from the pit of hell."
  • Both Franklin Graham and Richard Land support universal background checks for all gun purchases.
  • Finally, someone should really ask David Barton to explain how he supposedly "gives about 440 speeches a year" because that comes out to 1.2 speeches every single day, including holidays and weekends.

Remember when Donald Trump swung the election to Mitt Romney and led to the collapse of the Obama reelection campaign with his “big announcement”? “What difference does it make who won debate? Donald Trump is going to decide the election in 2 days,” WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah wrote at the time. Of course, the much-awaited “big announcement” ended up being a YouTube video of Trump offering to cut a $5 million check to charity if Obama released his college applications and transcripts. Obama’s decision to decline Trump’s benevolent offer,... MORE >

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah is upset about “the recent flood of self-outings” by gay athletes. In a column today, Farah suggests that gay athletes stay closeted, while at the same time wondering “why the announcement of a preference and practice of a certain type of sexual activity is considered a heroic act.” He concludes that since “it is especially cool to be a ‘gay’ athlete,” Americans must be valuing “abhorrent sex” over “innocent children.” In his first major televised interview on the situation on his... Anti-Muslim activist Pamela Geller is outraged that the USC Shoah Foundation, a genocide history project founded by Steven Spielberg, is giving an award to President Obama at its upcoming “Ambassadors for Humanity” gala. Geller, who believes Obama is “single-handedly paving the way for the next holocaust,” told WorldNetDaily that the award “is illustrative of the willful blindness of liberal Jews” who have “traded their religion” and “traded G-d (and their morality)” for political clout. “Shame on Steve Spielberg for rendering... While sitting down with Alex Jones of InfoWars today, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah defended Cliven Bundy but chastised Donald Sterling for his racist remarks. Farah explained that unlike Bundy, Sterling is definitely a racist because he’s a “lifelong Democrat” and a “big time Democrat.” Jones asked, “What would have happened if the owner of the Clippers had been a Republican?”  Unfortunately for Farah and Jones, along with the other conservative activists who picked up this insanely dumb line of argument, Sterling has actually been a... InfoWars host Alex Jones may be feuding with Glenn Beck, but he appears to be emulating the former Fox News pundit’s drift into televangelism. Jones spoke today with WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and the two agreed that the United States is experiencing God’s wrath. “We have become a decadent, wicked country and we’re going to be judged,” Jones said. Farah interjected that “this is judgment, what we’re experiencing now is judgment.” Later, Jones added that “the judgment’s only beginning though, I have a real feeling of dread in... MORE >

While Cliven Bundy’s allies at Fox News have either gone silent or distanced themselves from the lawless rancher after the New York Times reported on his racist rant, the right-wing pundits at WorldNetDaily are standing by their man. After publishing an interview with Alan Keyes that tried to absolve Bundy of racism, WND editor Joseph Farah said that the New York Times must have deliberately misquoted Bundy, calling him an “entrapment target” and victim of a “sting operation.” This was a sting operation by the New York Times. The entrapment target wasn’t... MORE >

Channeling Mike Huckabee, WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah writes today that liberalism inevitably leads to “the end of freedom” and “death on a massive scale.” Farah writes that he once “swam in the cesspool” of the progressive movement, and knows how it “works and why it is such an effective weapon of intimidation and coercion.” He goes on to warn that universities have “indoctrinated” students into a “venomous, anti-American and anti-liberty ideology,” arguing that academia is “redefining right and wrong”...
