John Benefiel returned to "God Knows" for a fourth episode in which he explained to Cindy and Mike Jacobs how he and Chuck Pierce broke Baal's control over Texas, Kansas, and Missouri back in 2007, which resulted in massive amounts of rainfall across the region and subsequent flooding. "Literally the day after we used this Ball divorce decree in 2007," Benefiel explained, "the rains came and we ended up having more rain between February and June of 2007 than any other twelve month period in history." On top of that, Benefiel's efforts to divorce Baal also... MORE >

Last week, we posted a video of self-appointed "apostle" John Benefiel, who believes that the Statue of Liberty is a demonic idol, telling Cindy and Mike Jacobs that America is under a curse because ancient Egyptians dedicated this land to Baal thousands of years ago. On this week's episode of "God Knows," Benefiel revealed that, back in 2004, he and a group of prayer warriors were given access to the Oklahoma House chamber where they broke Baal's hold over the state by praying over all of the desks and anointing all the chairs with oil. Four months later, Benefiel... MORE >

RWW’s Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right. There are a lot of problems in America today, and as we all know they are a result of Disney’s “pro-homosexual” agenda, Common Core and ancient Egyptian curses. 5. America Was Cursed By Ancient Egyptians Did you know that ancient, Baal-worshiping Egyptians came to North America long ago and put the continent under a demonic curse? Well you do now! Just let pastor John Benefiel, who helped Gov. Rick Perry organize his The Response prayer rally, explain: 4. Gay... MORE >

John Benefiel, the self-proclaimed "apostle" who was involved in Gov. Rick Perry's "The Response" prayer rally came to our attention a few years ago after we discovered videos of him proclaiming that the Statue of Liberty is a demonic idol and that homosexuality in an Illuminati conspiracy, was the guest on Cindy and Mike Jacobs' "God Knows" program recently where he detailed his efforts to break Baal's control over the United States of America. Benefiel, who believes that his prayers can cause earthquakes, explained to the Jacobs that Baal is a... MORE >

In 2011, Texas Gov. Rick Perry partnered with pastor John Benefiel, a self-proclaimed Apostle who leads the Heartland Apostolic Reformation Network, for his The Response prayer rally. Like many of the other pastors promoting The Response, Benefiel has some rather curious views. For example, he claims the Statue of Liberty is a “demonic idol” and that the District of Columbia is under the control of demonic powers. While appearing on Sid Roth’s show It’s Supernatural!, Benefiel argued that the Statue of Freedom on top of the Capitol and the Washington Monument are... MORE >

Over the last year or so, we have been noting how the Family Research Council was slowly becoming more and more intertwined with various leaders within the New Apostolic Reformation movement, the collection of modern-day "prophets" and "apostles" who believe they posses the same miracle working abilities as Jesus. NAR's public political activism has cooled since leaders had their coming-out at Rick Perry's massive prayer rally last summer, but obviously efforts to work its way into the larger Religious Right political movement continue. Case in point, today we... MORE >

Earlier this month at A Gathering of Eagles, Cindy Jacobs, Harry Jackson, Dutch Sheets and Pierre Bynum of the Family Research Council led attendees in spiritual warfare against the purported demonic powers behind homosexuality and marriage equality, the media and secular government. Today, Jacobs’ organization Generals International told members about the event, including a meeting before the prayer rally at the Family Research Council including Jackson, Sheets and John Benefiel of the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network as part of Jacobs’ new election initiative to elect right-... In our reporting on Rick Perry’s The Response prayer rally, we highlighted the work of John Benefiel of the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network, who gained notoriety for his claims that the Statue of Liberty is a “demonic idol” and that the District of Columbia is under a curse because of its name, which Benefiel says honors the goddess Columbia. He claimed that his group succeeded in divorcing the city from the control of the pagan god Baal and renamed it the District of Christ. Benefiel uses what he calls the “Baal Decree of Divorce” [PDF] to cast out the... MORE >
