Liberty Counsel: True Science Always Reinforces the Bible

Today's episode of Liberty Counsel's "Faith and Freedom" radio program featured Steve Crampton and Harry Mihet praising the roundly criticized study by Mark Regnerus on gay parenting, calling it a "blockbuster" that "blows the lid" off of the claims that kids are not damaged by being raised in gay households.

But mainly Crampton and Mihet hailed the study for confirming both common sense and the Bible because, as Crampton said "true science always seems to me to reinforce and strengthen what the Scripture tells us from the start":

Barber: PFAW, ACLU, FFRF, & AU are Communists Engaged in 'Religious Cleansing'

Liberty Counsel attorney Harry Mihet grew up in Communist Romania and lived there until his family fled to America and now, in his capacity as a right-wing culture warrior, never misses an opportunity to warn that sees America heading down the road toward communism.

So it was no surprise to see Mihet featured on today's "Faith and Freedom" radio program entitled "Is American Becoming Communist?" where he warned that things like the contraception mandate are just "communism by any other name."

Host Matt Barber completely agreed with Mihet, declaring that groups like People for the American Way, the ACLU, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State are "anti-theist" groups that "display a marked hostility towards religious freedom" and are seeking to make all citizens loyal to the state by "engaging in religious cleansing" ... which is "uncannily similar" to what took place in communist Romania:

Barber: Scott Lively 'Really is a Hero' Who is Doing 'Kingdom's Work'

Earlier this year, a Ugandan gay rights group sued notorious anti-gay activist Scott Lively in US court for allegedly violating international law over his role in Uganda's proposed "Kill The Gays" bill.

Shortly thereafter, the notorious anti-gay activists at Liberty Counsel stepped up to represent  Lively  and on today's installment of "Faith and Freedom," Matt Barber and Harry Mihet explained that they were doing so because Lively is really a courageous hero who ought to be commended for the kingdom's work that he has been doing but who has become instead the victim of violence from gay activists:

Truth in Action Ministries Rallies Pastors to Prevent 'Moral Chaos' of Liberalism, Gay Rights

America is on the brink of collapse, and Truth in Action Ministries is warning in a new film, as a result of gay rights, liberalism and secular government. The group unveiled The Price of Freedom following a series of films blaming America’s ills on the IRS and homosexuality, calling for its criminalization. The film features Mike Huckabee, anti-gay activist Harry Jackson, Liberty Counsel’s Harry Mihet, Movieguide’s Ted Baehr and tea party activist Paul Jehle, along with the predictably ominous scenes from gay rights rallies and parades. Others participating in the film include Southern Baptist Convention’s Richard Land and Congressmen Todd Akin and Cliff Stearns.

“We have created a future for our children which is very negative in the sense that if they live in a socialized culture, in a perverse culture, all of the pillars of society are going to be pulled out from under them,” Baehr asserted. Jackson spoke of a “head-to-head battle” between “liberal, secular people” and the church, which Mihet said can prevent “moral chaos.”

Liberty Counsel Attorney Says Gay Rights Will Bring About Communist-era Persecution

Liberty Counsel attorney Harry Mihet appeared on VCY America’s Crosstalk yesterday where in response to a caller’s statement about how Christians will soon “suffer” when they “speak the truth in love to a homosexual,” he said that in due time America will soon become like a Communist country where people can be arrested for “speaking the truth”:

Caller: I think it’s going to come to a time where as believers and followers of Jesus we’re going to be put into a situation where we are going to have to speak the truth in love to a homosexual and I think we need to be ready and just be willing to suffer for the cause of Jesus Christ.

Mihet: I think you’re right. Unfortunately I think truth is becoming the new hate speech in this country and I think we are headed for a time when speaking the truth is going to cost something. I’ve certainly seen that happen in Communist Romania, I saw how my father was taken from a church after a service and driven to the headquarters of the secret police and was held there and interrogated there for days at a time for doing nothing more than speaking the truth. Now that’s something we would expect from the Communists but that is something we are determined to not allow to happen in the land of the free, and so I think that’s the urgency that we’re dealing with here and that is why it is so important for every freedom loving American to inform themselves and to equip themselves and to join us in this critical fight for freedom in this country.

Suspension of Anti-Gay FL School Teacher Just Like Life In Communist Romania

In August of this year, controversy erupted after Florida school teacher Jerry Buell was suspended for posting anti-gay statements on his Facebook page.  The case because a Religious Right cause célèbre and Liberty Counsel immediately stepped in to represent him.

Buell's Liberty Counsel attorney, Harry Mihet, was the guest on "WallBuilders Live" radio program today where he asserted that the reason he fled communist Romania was to escape just this sort of "oppression":

I grew up in communist Romania and this is exactly the kind of thing that would happen there ... and we learned to live with this kind of oppression as a way of life. But we fled Romania to escape to the land of the free so that we wouldn't have to deal with such intolerance.

Liberty Counsel: Churches May Have to Give Up Tax Exemptions to Save America From Turning Into "Communist Romania"

Back in 2008, the Alliance Defense Fund launched its "Pulpit Initiative" designed to encourage pastors to openly endorse political candidates in their sermons and a direct challenge to IRS restrictions.  And ADF is planning to do it again this year right before the elections.

But not all right-wing legal groups are so bold, which is why Mat Staver and the Liberty Counsel partnered with the Florida Family Policy Council and Christian Coalition of South Florida for a series of "Pastors’ Freedom Forums" to explain just what churches legally can and cannot do.

But you have to admit that Staver doesn't seem particularly concerned about the possibility that they might lose their tax exemption if they cross that line, because God will always provide for them:

“So why do we think God depends upon tax deductibility to keep the Gospel going?” Staver asked. “We enjoy tax deductibility now, and that’s fine; but if we ever have to give it up, so what! God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. His resources aren’t limited.”

And while Staver was telling pastors not to worry about losing their tax-exept status, Liberty Counsel's Harry Mihet was urging them to stand up adn fight in the "time of war" or else watch America turn into "communist Romania":

“Dear brothers and sisters, this is a time of war,” Mihet said. “As citizens of this country and as citizens of the Kingdom, we are engaged in a battle for the very heart and soul of our nation against people and groups that are fighting tirelessly day and night to radically transform our country—to change it from the land of the free into a place that is without God, without values, a place where anything goes except genuine Christianity—to a place that looks more and more like communist Romania.”

Mihet said it would be tragic for “future generations” if the Americans don’t “show up” and, as a result, the battle is lost. “What a powerful testimony to the might of the God we serve it would be if men and women of God would stand up and rise to this challenge and join in the fight for the soul of our country,” he said.
