Wallnau: Islam, Gays, and Abortion Are Attacking America From the Gates of Hell

We have been writing a lot about the rise of the Dominionists like Lou Engle and Cindy Jacobs within the traditional Religious Right movement and paying close attention to the influence of Seven Mountains theology, which is the idea that Christians are called upon to gain control of the seven key aspects of culture (government, media, business, education, etc...) in order to unleash God's kingdom on Earth and bring about the return of Jesus Christ.

One of the key proponents of this Seven Mountains theology is Lance Wallnau who, thank to Jim Garlow, has become more involved in the political aspects of the Religious Right movement through Garlow's Pray and ACT effort.

Earlier this month Cindy Jacobs and Generals International hosted a three hour webcast that featured Wallnau, as well as New Apostolic Reformation godfather C. Peter Wagner, during which Wallnau laid out how Christians are supposed to gain control over these mountains through both "overt" and "covert" means .... and those little upside-down horseshoe things floating above the 7 mountains on the white board represent the gates of Hell though which same-sex marriage, abortion, and Islam are attacking America:

You go all the way down into the family mountain. Now you've got family and you've got same-sex marriage being fought. What's up with that? Well, it's another one of these hellish blocking of truth here, bringing through the gate a belief system that whatever form of sexuality you're into is legitimately, constitutionally protected.

Well, while you're doing that, through the religious gate here you've got Islam invading the United States. So you've got your homosexual activity, your abortion activity here, Islam coming in, you've got a financial collapse - all of this, to those of us who are Christians, is an apocalyptic confirmation that when you remove God from public discourse, when you don't line up your thinking with kingdom principles, you inevitably hit an iceberg like the Titanic and you go down.

We want to be able to bring kingdom principles and values into every one of those spheres, realizing that the kingdom can move both in the over proclamation of truth and in the covert instruction of principles.

So here's what I'm saying: believers need to start to move into the high places where they're going to come up against the gates of hell. We will, I guarantee you, come up against the gates of hell because when a believer comes into these high places, he comes head into - boom - the principles that are working there. And when you hit a wrong principle, listen to me, when you hit a wrong principle you hit a principality.

And when you hit a principality and you succeed in that conflict, watch what happens, you open up a portal, you open up a pathway so that light can come in. And this is exactly what we need now - we need Heaven to come invade Earth and bring, through portals, new leadership.

And if you are impressed by that presentation, The Oak Initiative is hosting a "Power Communications Seminar" with Wallnau, Rick Joyner, & Jerry Boykin later this month that you can attend for the bargain price of $900.

Sam Brownback: The Dominionist's Man In Washington

In our post yesterday on Sam Brownback finally acknowledging his long relationship with Lou Engle, we noted that Brownback sought to downplay it by claiming that they only worked on human rights issues:

Brownback, of Topeka, said he worked with Engle on adoption by the U.S. Senate of official statements of apology to Native Americans and African-Americans. He said the Native American statement became law.

"Those were the substantive items," Brownback said. "It's all been about human rights and helping people live better."

Now, as anyone who knows anything about Engle and his associates realizes, every move they make is aimed at unleashing revival here in America and ultimately establishing God's kingdom on Earth ... and that is exactly what was at work in these two cases.

If you jump ahead to the 4 minute mark of this video of Sen. Brownback on the Senate floor discussing the apology for slavery, you will hear him talk about a "kettle tour":

This "kettle tour" was organized by Engle associates Dutch Sheets and Will Ford in order to create a "'synergistic agreement' that will release a multiplication of power for spiritual breakthrough" and Brownback played a key role in the tour when it came to Washington:

The idea for what is being called the "Kettle Tour" was birthed during a conference last March when Sheets spoke about the joining of the present generation's prayers with those of the past to form a "synergy of the ages."

Will Ford, an African American conference attendee from Euless, Texas, shared a powerful story about an old kettle that had been passed down through the generations from his slave ancestors.

"My ancestors would be beaten if they were caught praying," Ford explained, "so they'd wait until everyone was asleep, sneak into the barn late at night, turn this pot upside down on some rocks, and get underneath it to pray where they wouldn't be heard. Although they didn't believe they would see freedom in their lifetime, they prayed for the freedom of the next generation."

When Ford heard Sheets speak about the "bowls of incense," which contained the prayers of the saints from all generations, mentioned in Revelation 5:8, he said he realized his prayers were being united with those of his slave ancestors.

Ford agreed to travel throughout New England with Sheets and a team of people, taking along his "prayer kettle" as a symbol of what God desires to do in this nation.

"God is connecting all the ages to heal history," Sheets told the prayer participants in Washington. "We must come into agreement with the prayers of past generations in order for God to fulfill His purposes for this nation."

Pointing to a significant movement of repentance and reconciliation between races, genders, and denominations that has already taken place in the last few years, Sheets believes God is now desiring a "synergistic agreement" that will release a multiplication of power for spiritual breakthrough.

"The church has been so disjointed that we haven't been able to accomplish what the Lord wants to do through us, but we're moving into a season in the body of Christ where I believe over the next five years there's going to be more joining together of the church than in all the 2,000 years leading up to this."

At the Washington prayer gathering, Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., told those present that in all the history of the country nothing has happened but that it happened first in prayer.

"We've made it up the mountain a long way, but we have to make that final assault on the peak," Brownback said. "We can make that final leap to the top, if we stay on our knees."

The same goes for the apology issued to Native Americans - it was considered "a requirement of the Lord for the healing of this land" and once again Brownback played a key role in transforming the religious concerns of these self-proclaimed apostles and prophets into public policy:

[On] January 15, 2003 Dr. John Benefiel, Chairman and Mobilizing Apostle of OCOP, along with Dr. Jay Swallow, Dr. Neigel Bigpond, Jim and Faith Chosa, Gabriel and Vi Medicine-Eagle, Jean Stephenson, Sandy Grady and Mike and Cindy Jacobs met with Senator Sam Brownback in Washington, D.C. Dr. Benefiel explained to the Senator the curse brought upon our nation because of the 381 covenants the United States Government broke with the Native Americans. The Senator repented to the Native Americans right then and there. As a result of these events, Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 37, (which will provide a formal apology from the United States Government to Native Americans), was written and is currently on General Order in the U.S. Senate awaiting a full Senate vote ... [Dutch Sheets] said the starting of the 50 State Tour could not have happened until what happened in D.C. took place with the broken covenants and the repentance of Senator Brownback.

And here is Brownback being introduced by Sheets at the 2007 The Call rally in Nashville where he officially apologized to several Native Americans for the actions of the federal government and asked for their forgiveness.  He then issued a similar apology for the treatment of African Americans which he delivered to none other than Harry Jackson before finally bringing his own daughter out on stage and asking her for forgiveness for the 40 million abortions that have taken place in the wake of Roe v Wade:

Engle, Sheets, Jacobs and other are all key leaders in the dominionist movement and Sam Brownback has had a deep relationship with them for years, often serving as their man in Washington and joining them for various events and even living with Engle for several months at one point ... so his recent claims that he doesn't really have any contact with them and has "concerns" about their views is, quite literally, unbelievable.

Jacobs Calls The "Blood-Covered Justice and Judgments of God" Down Up Her Enemies

I admit that I find the Religious Right's commingling of prayer with politics endlessly fascinating, especially the way they formulate specific political goals as prayer targets, which is why I keep posting them.

The targets set out by Cindy Jacobs and Generals International are particularly revealing, as she has been providing specific day-by-day prayers heading into the election.

Her latest prayer update focuses mainly on reclaiming the "education mountain," and seeks to remove "unrighteous leadership" for the nation's public school system so that the "light of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the fear of the Lord" can be spread by educators.

In addition, Jacobs declares that "progressive politics" and "multiculturalism" must be stripped from the nation's textbooks because they are "denigrating the importance of Christianity in American culture" and asks God to "break unholy conspiracies and expose for public scrutiny those who are advancing pro-Islamic textbooks and school curriculums under the rhetoric of diversity, rights, tolerance and democracy."

And, of course, Jacobs urges activists to pray to end "Homosexuality and Sexual Perversion in our Children's Schools" and calls the "blood-covered justice and judgments of God" down upon those who seek to "destroy the family unit through the advancement of the homosexual agenda":

· Pray for exposure to public scrutiny those who are covertly working to advance the homosexual indoctrination of our children through the educational system.

· Pray that God would raise up righteous leaders to successfully contend against the encroachments of the homosexual activists upon our nation's educational system.

· Pray that defenders of family and protectors of our children's welfare remain strong and courageous and true to their calling.

· Pray for protection of our children's minds and hearts as they sit in school, college and university classrooms.

Father, we come before you humbly crying out for mercy upon America's civic and household leaders for allowing the minority homosexual community to make such deep inroads into our nation's educational system. In Jesus' Name, we pray that You would awaken believers to the critical importance of being involved in preserving Biblical principals for living as the foundation of our children's education. Father, raise up Christians across America who will vote in leaders that will strongly oppose the encroachments of the homosexual activists upon our nation's educational system and diligently protect our children from being subjected to lessons in sexual perversion, deviance and decadence in their school classrooms and libraries. We ask You would expose to public scrutiny those who, under a cloak of "equality" that is devoid of Judeo-Christian values, are working to undermine parental rights in education and indoctrinate our impressionable school children in an effort to change public attitudes toward homosexuality. We release into our children the knowledge and wisdom of God and the boldness to stand up for what is true, holy and pure. We release strength, boldness and divine strategies to the faithful defenders of Your precepts for the instruction of our children and declare that they will not compromise their standards or cave to the abhorrent demands of the homosexual community even in the face of great opposition and threats. We release the blood-covered justice and judgments of God upon those forces that are trying to subjugate American education and thereby, destroy the family unit through the advancement of the homosexual agenda.

Right Wing Leftovers

  • C. Peter Wager will be joining Cindy Jacobs and Lance Wallnau for Generals Internationals Q&A.
  • Randall Terry gets ready to embark upon his latest Quran-destroying escapades.
  • Judge Vaughan Walker is retiring.
  • Gary Bauer and Robert Spencer are among those joining Christiane Amanpour for a debate on “Holy War: Should Americans Fear Islam?”
  • This press release from Rick Scarborough announcing a conference call next week with Tom DeLay and Phyllis Schlafly is borderline incoherent but apparently they have something planned.
  • Finally I, for one, cannot wait to see the new Christian movie about a law student who sues Satan for $8 trillion called "Suing the Devil."

Exposing "Unholy Conspiracies" and "Evil Advisors" With Election-Oriented Prayer

Yesterday we were noting that there are at least six different right-wing 40-day prayer efforts under way that are aimed specifically at seeing Republicans elected during the mid-term elections.

Among the various efforts is one being led by Cindy Jacobs and Generals International and today her United States Reformation Prayer Network sent out an email containing a "prayer guide for the next 5 days of our fast, which focuses on the governmental mountain" with this purpose of disrupting the "evil advisors" and breaking the "unholy conspiracies" that are controlling our government and removing them from office.

In addition, Jacobs offers specific prayers for the victories in Colorado's personhood amendment, California's marijuana initiative and that God will "open the blind eyes of the supporters of the DADT repeal to stop this detrimental measure in its tracks":

In Jesus' Name, we ask that You raise up those that will yield their heart to righteousness in government matters, that they would be bold and courageous and willing to obey Your word. We pray that they would act fairly, humanely and with insight in the execution of their duties. Grant them Your wisdom, favor and abundant grace as they take a stand in the political courts of men's opinions inwardly acknowledging it was you who called them. Disrupt the counsel of evil advisors and surround our leaders with Godly counsel. Expose the snares of those who would present themselves one way but whose hearts intent is to seduce the people to drink from the waters of deception. Let the upright dwell in our government; let men and women blameless and complete in Your sight remain in positions of authority. God, break unholy conspiracies and let the wicked be cut off from our government and the treacherous uprooted from our land.

...

As we prepare ourselves to cast our vote, show us which ones would advance and uphold policies based upon Biblical standards of righteousness. Give us ears to hear and discern by Your spirit the truth as we listen when issues are being debated at town hall meetings, organized forums and media presentations throughout the nation. As we vote we ask that our decision would reflect our cry to see our nation come into alignment with righteousness such that those who have dishonored the voice of Your word and Your ways would be removed. Father, we thank You that fervent, united prayer and action can and will powerfully affect this election and the nation!

...

· Pray for the passing of the Kansas Constitutional Amendment 62 to uphold and preserve their right to bears arms (On Kansas Ballot for November 2)

· Pray that the California Marijuana Legalization Initiative (Prop 19), allowing the possession, cultivation or transport of marijuana for personal use, would NOT pass (On California Ballot for November 2 mid-term election)

· Pray for the passing of Colorado Fetal Personhood, Amendment 62, to apply the term 'person' as used in those provisions of the Colorado Constitution relating to inalienable rights, equality of justice and due process of law, to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being. (On Colorado Ballot for November 2 mid-term election)

· Pray that a "lame-duck" congress would not succeed in their attempts to force through any unrighteous legislation (DADT, embryonic stem cell research, another massive stimulus package, cap and trade bill, etc.) ...

· Pray for the safety of our military-in Afghanistan and elsewhere, and concerning the attempts to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, thereby allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the military, and requiring military hospitals at home and abroad to perform abortions ... May God open the blind eyes of the supporters of the DADT repeal to stop this detrimental measure in its tracks.

Right Wing Leftovers

  • Sarah Palin says she'll run for President in 2012 if "nobody else were to step up."  What dose that mean? Does she think that nobody else plans on running?
  • Have questions for Cindy Jacobs or Lance Wallnau?  They are taking them on October 4th.
  • I am constantly amazed at how Religious Right activsts feel free to just weigh in on every issue like they are experts.
  • The Qurans that were to be burned by Terry Jones will instead be distributed by the Christian Defense Coalition.
  • Quote of the day from Bill Donohue: "No institution, religious or secular, has less of a problem with the issue of sexual abuse today than the Catholic Church."
  • Finally, was Joad Cressbeckler not available for this latest FRC ad?

Prayer Warriors Descending On DC To Shift The Government And Claim The 7 Mountains

One of the most difficult things about keeping track of the rise of self-proclaimed Prophets, Apostles, and Intercessors within the Religious Right is the fact that the movement is so massive and diverse.  There are dozens, if not hundreds, of different leaders all with different organizations and ministries which often work together and frequently overlap while maintaining their own agenda's and handing out their own prophecies.

For every Lou Engle, Jim Garlow, and Cindy Jacobs who makes the open transition to Religious Right activism, there are dozens of other equally committed but less front-and-center activists like Rick Joyner and Chuck Pierece. And for every Joyner and Pierce, there are dozens of others we have never even heard about ... like Georgian Banov.

But just because we haven't heard of Banov until today, it doesn't change the fact he hast spent the last six months engaged in a targeted prayer effort focused on the East Coast as part of a "campaign of electing a new leadership for the United States of America":

The Lord of the Angel Armies personally disclosed Heaven’s battle plans with His own breath. Elijah was to anoint two kings and a prophet -- there was to be a changing of the guard, God had provided the defeat of the enemy.

Last November, along with several Washington DC churches and house of prayer ministries, we gathered in our nation’s capital for a week of intercession for the United States of America. Leaders who love life were elected into office in both of the states we were praying for; we had a landslide victory and the freedom bell began to ring.

That night we began to hear the Lord’s holy whisper – I have a plan to shift your nation back onto its righteous course. The vision unfolded and we saw a new Congress filled with humble yet strong leaders.

In just six months, the United States midterm elections will be held. All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 36 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be contested. The Lord has already chosen men and women that He wants in these governmental positions. He has picked leaders with hearts that are filled with the values of Heaven—those who love life and justice, compassion and truth.

Next week we will launch a prophetic summit and prayer initiative from Boston, which will continue nationwide through the 2010 elections on November 2nd.

On the audio clip posted on that page, Chuck Pierce tells Banov that an "Army of Saints" would arise out of Boston and sweep out over the nation and achieve the goals that Banov had set in his list of very specific, very political prayer targets:

  • We declare that another great awakening has begun.
  • We declare that this awakening will bring about a cultural transformation and a return to the values of our founding fathers.
  • We declare that the church will again be salt and light in American society.
  • We declare revival in the church, restoring the fire of the early church during Pentecost and birth of Christianity.
  • We decree a shift in the United States Congress in the Fall of 2010 towards life, justice, compassion and truth.
  • Just as the election of Senator Brown was a signal of the end of secular liberalism, let these decrees be heard as thunder in the heavens and shake Washington DC this November.
  • We call for a new congress of leaders who are servants, not career politicians; sons and not orphans; lovers of life, truth and compassion.

And now, as the mid-term elections approach, Banov and company are descending upon Washington DC for a week of strategic "worship, prayer and prophetic declaration over our nation" in order to gain control of the 7 Mountains that dominate our nation:

The Glory Shift events in New Jersey, Maine, and Washington DC are a part of capturing this divine opportunity. Join us as we bring together apostles, prophets and intercessors to pray, declare and decree. This is a glorious opportunity for the Church to shape the future of our culture and shift the direction of our country toward compassion, justice, truth and righteousness.

Much has been brought to light about the "7 Mountains" that shape society. In America, of these seven, the roots of four lie deeply in the Northeast – "The Womb of the Nation."

...

Washington, DC, which is also in the Northeast Corridor, is the epicenter of US politics. It is the home of our President, Congress, the Supreme Court, and the offices of the Federal Government. Much of the future of our nation rests upon the decisions that are made in this powerful city.

We invite you to join us as we worship, pray, declare and decree the destiny of Heaven over our nation. Hear what national prophets are saying at this pivotal time in history. Be equipped in the Supernatural School of Ministry to do greater works, which Jesus said we would do. There are miracles waiting to be released into our lives and into our land as we embrace everything that Christ has done at Calvary. There are signs, wonders, and miracles ready to explode into the Northeast from the Throne of God as we gather together with faith-filled joy and expectancy for a manifestation of His Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven.

It really is remarkable just how widespread this type of prophetic political activism is and how much of it goes on below the radar of people like ourselves who are actually starting to be on the lookout for it.

How Cindy Jacobs Shut Down Craigslist

Last week we noted that Cindy Jacobs had participated in The Call rally in Sacramento, CA where she repented for the scourge of girl-on-girl kissing and lesbianism which plague our society today.

But, as it turns out, the prayers and prophecies she delivered at the event played in role in shutting down Craigslist's adult services ads, as she explains in her latest Generals International update:

At one point there was a whole section on fighting human trafficking, sex trafficking, repenting of involvements in pornography and so forth and our friend Nancy Alcorn had her girls up who they had rescued from prostitution and so many things, some had actually been trafficked, been captured. And as we prayed there was a section where these girls were asked to go back, away from the platform, there was a cross, a big cross set up, and they kneeled down and began to pray and I gave them a prophecy and I said "could it be that even right now, as we speak, that that God, the just God, wants to give you a sign that he is going to break the back of sex trafficking."

And so they cried out for freedom and they cried out and asked God to do that and right after that we received word that Craigslist was going to begin to censor some of the things that were coming over their list concerning pornography and adult content. And we just felt it was a huge victory.

Cindy Jacobs Repents For Lesbianism, "Girl-on-Girl Kissing" and "Gender Mainstreaming"

As I noted in my post earlier today, this weekend's "The Call" rally was, in addition to being rather sparsley attended, rather boring.

But that was only because, despite the fact that I spent several hours watching it, I completely missed Cindy Jacobs.  Fortunately, the Courage Campaign captured Jacobs' address in which she warned of the dangers of "gir-on-girl kissing":

I want to talk as a mother to the young women today. We know that it's not just the men who have a problem with pornography and I want to say it like this: girl-on-girl kissing, lesbianism is a plague on our society today.

And I want to read the word of God and I want us to pray. Roman 1: 25 says those who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator blessed forevermore, for this reason God game them up to vile passions where even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

I'm going to call on the women and I want to say that it's time for us to repent.

This girl-on-girl kissing, Madonna kissing Britney Spears, and what happened to Britney after that and a lot of other things. I know we're going out over worldwide television. I want to tell you, bisexuality, every kind of perverse thing, the Bible calls this sin. And I want the women of God to kneel down right now and we are going to put a stop to this in our generation and we are going to say "No More!"

(Jacobs begins shouting)

And I want to say to you, this gender mainstreaming that says that you don't know if you're a boy or a girl until you have sex with both, boy or girl, has got to stop. If we agree right now that there is a holyness movement coming, we decree in the name of Jesus that men and women are going to be their natural use, in the name of Jesus.

One of you young women want to repent for that, lesbianism?

University of Moblie Launches Election-Targeted Prayer Effort

Earlier this week I was marveling at how different groups just keep announcing redundant pre-election efforts, so that there are now at least four separate groups launching prayer efforts heading into the mid-term elections: Pray and ACT, Cindy Jacobs and Generals International, the National Religious Broadcasters, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

But you know what was missing?  An election-targeted prayer effort that is being orchestrated by a university.  But fortunately, the University of Mobile has stepped in to fill that void:

A Christian university in Alabama is calling people to join together in prayer for a nationwide spiritual and cultural transformation as the mid-term elections approach.

The University of Mobile recently founded the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) to help leaders fulfill their responsibility to God as American citizens. Director Dr. Joe Savage tells OneNewsNow the first action the group is taking is launching The twelve23 Prayer Movement for America. The initiative is based on John 12:23, which says, "The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified."

"Beginning October 1 through November 2, each day at 12:23 we're asking Christians to simply humble themselves and pray -- just for a moment," Savage explains. "Can you imagine if Christians across this land, at restaurants across this country, if people would stop for a moment and bow their heads and pray right there at the 12:23 hour?"

The twelve23 website makes the connection to the elections quite clear:

Beginning October 1, 2010 and concluding Tuesday, November 2, 2010, we are asking Christians around the world to pray for the United States and their own faithfulness every day at 12:23 p.m. and/or 12:23 a.m.

America’s mid-term elections are Tuesday, November 2, 2010. On this day, millions of Americans will exercise their constitutional freedom by voting for the candidate of their choice. This is a wonderful privilege! Knowing this is an extremely important election and knowing that our nation needs God more than ever, we invite you to commit to praying and to get others committed to participating as well!

And the accompanying twelve23 Contract lays out exactly how the godless liberals have been destroying this country:

Godless arrogance, at large among political leadership, has resulted in continued disintegration of effective and healthy state and national policies. Decline of religious instruction in homes and churches has led to clouded understanding of God and the embracing of Christian and pagan thought with equal standing.

A liberal political philosophy, historically weak in the face of evil, continues its influence at a time when we most desperately need protection from evil from within and beyond our borders.

Concepts of responsibility to God, responsibility to others, and self-sacrifice are lost in a national sea of greed and self-entitlement.

We believe these conditions constitute a spiritual and cultural attack upon the health and welfare of our nation.

Southern Baptist Convention Launches Its Own Pre-Election Prayer Effort

What was it that I was just saying about the fact that Religious Right groups seem to do nothing but duplicate the work of other Religious Right groups and that every new organization or event or program seems to have the same mission as every other one?

Well, in addition to the Pray and ACT 40 days of pre-election prayer and fasting, and Cindy Jacobs' 40 days of pre-election prayer and fasting, and the National Religious Broadcasters' 40 days of pre-election prayer, we can now also add the Southern Baptist Convention's 40 days of pre-election prayer:

The 40/40 Prayer Vigil is designed for people to pray for 40 days, between Sept. 20 and the morning of Oct. 29, and then pray for 40 hours between 4 p.m. on Oct. 29 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 31. A downloadable prayer guide and more information is available at www.4040prayer.com. The 40/40 prayer guide is written so that it can be used by an individual, a small group or the focus of an entire church body.

The vigil focuses on personal and church revival and national renewal, [Richard] Land said, noting participants are encouraged to heed the truths of 1 Timothy 2 and pray for those in positions of authority in the government.

A pitched spiritual battle rages across the country and around the world, Land said. "Such warfare must be met first of all with spiritual weapons," he said. "We must pray for a great outpouring of God's Spirit on our homes, our churches and ourselves that our moral foundation might be recovered."

Election 2010: Now With More Praying, More Fasting, More Humbling and Turning From Our Wicked Way

Pray and ACT is calling for 40 days for prayer and fasting heading into the 2010 mid-term elections and so is Cindy Jacobs ... and now the National Religious Broadcasters is getting in on the act as well, announcing its own pre-election 40-day prayer effort:

In response to the unprecedented spiritual and moral decline in our nation, the NRB Executive Committee is issuing a call to God’s people to devote ourselves to 40 days of earnest, soul-searching prayer, beginning September 1, 2010 and ending October 10, 2010. The theme verse is 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people.” We must seek God for the revival of our souls and the life of our nation.

NRB is requesting that you join us in calling upon God's people to commit to these 40 days of prayer. God will hear our prayers and heal our land only after we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways.

Specifically, we are asking:

  • Stations to air 30- and/60-second PSA’s, encouraging Christians to take part in the “If My People” prayer initiative. To assist you, previously recorded PSA’s are available here.
  • Ministries to include the NRB call to prayer in their September programming. This would remind and encourage audiences to participate beginning September 1 for 40 days.

As Peter said, judgment begins with the house of God. Now is the time when we must be transparent before the Lord to let Him change us, so that through the power of the Holy Spirit we might change the world.

And if 2 Chronicles 7:14 sounds familiar, that is because it has become the passage around which just about every Religious Right events has been organized including Janet Porter's May Day 2010 Prayer Rally, the Global Day of Prayer, the National Day of Prayer, and the FRC's Call 2 Fall event.  In fact, even the fast at the center of Pray and ACT mission is explicitly linked to this passage:

The fast will begin at 7:14am (based on 2 Chronicles 7:14), on Sept 20 and end at 7:14am, Oct 30, 2010. Although many will follow only a liquid diet, persons can fast as God directs them during this 40 day span.

Ever since President Obama was elected, 2 Chronicles 7:14 has become the verse around which the Religious Right has mobilized ... and that should give you a pretty good understanding of their mindset at the moment:

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Random Book Blogging: Waging Spiritual Warfare, Literally

This piece from Rachel Tabachnick on strategic level spiritual warfare (SLSW), the ideology behind the growth of "prayer warrior" networks across the nation, reminded me of something I wanted to highlight from book I have been reading by Chuck Pierce called "The Future War of the Church: How We Can Defeat Lawlessness and Bring God's Order to the Earth."

Pierce has not been as openly political as have been the likes of Cindy Jacobs and Lou Engle, but he has been making inroads, having been involved in Janet Porter's May Day rally.  Pierce has deep ties to Jacobs and is actually next in line to take over C. Peter Wagner's New Apostolic Reformation dynasty, with Wagner recently explaining that his Global Harvest Ministries was merging with Pierce's Glory of Zion (GOZ) International into something called Global Spheres, Inc. (GSI).

Whenever I write about how this new brand of prophetic intercessors is working their way into the mainstream Religious Right movement, I tend to end up relying on the word "literally" a lot, as in: "when they call themselves prophets and apostles, they mean that 'literally.'"

I do that because I think that people tend to assume, when they hear these activists talk about things like waging spiritual warfare against demon strongholds, that they are speaking in some figurative or metaphorical sense.

They're not.

In his book, Pierce lays out the explanation of why they must engage in this type of spiritual warfare, explaining that sin allows Satan to gain strongholds in homes, families, communities, and cities that can only be broken by properly directed spiritual warfare ... and again, let me point out that he means this literally:

Satan gains access to an area in the same way he gains access to an individual's life or a family line: through sin. He does this by encouraging individual or family sin to escalate into corporate sin. When corporate sin enters into our assigned boundaries, we need to be aware of how that sin can build a throne of iniquity and how we, being positioned in God's army, have the authority to dismantle it.

Corporate sin - for example, idolatry, bloodshed, immorality and covenant breaking - creates a break in God's purpose, or order, for a region. Once this break begins to occur, Satan will take advantage to gain an upper hand and being to establish his influence in that area.

...

Satan uses ongoing problems within a community, such as murder, violence, pornography or gangs, to strengthen his throne of iniquity within the community. If your community is plagued by these and other corporate sins, you must realize that Satan has a throne of iniquity in place that is being maintained through these sins.

...

Satan's confederation, through which he maintains his system of worship, is not just limited to witchcraft or covens but can manifest itself through many forms of occultic practices, including satanism, psychic hotlines, spiritism, paganism, goddess worship, voodoo, fortune-telling, palmistry, demon worship, the use of spirit guides, and other New Age practices. The enemy's confederation also extends to those who practice any form of false religion - including Mormonism, Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, Hinduism, Eastern religions, Native religions, Christian Science, and Bahai - and to those embroiled in secret societies such as Freemasonry, Shriners, Oddfellows and the Elks.

Even though many involved in these practices would deny that they are being driven by a satanic confederation, the fact is that through their practice of what the Bible clearly identifies as evil, these people are contributing to the throne of iniquity upon which Satan is seated in the area.

Earlier this week I noted that Lou Engle and TheCall were operating a mobile prayer strikeforce for exactly this purpose.  Called the Prayer Strike Program, these groups "will be developed and deployed to key regions in the earth where breakthrough is needed for the spreading of the Lord's justice and salvation. In those regions, the teams will engage in concentrated worship, prayer, and fasting."

So if you live in an area with a large population of Mormons or Elks clubs, don't be surprised when you see a battalion of spiritual warriors descend upon your town in order to break the chain of corporate sin and free the region from Satan's control ... literally.

Oak Initiative Warns Democrats "We're Coming After YOU!"

A few weeks back, I wrote a post about Rick Joyner and The Oak Initiative, one of the "prophetic intercessor" groups that, like Lou Engle and The Call and Cindy Jacobs and General International, are becoming increasingly active within the more "mainstream" Religious Right.

Like The Call and Generals International, The Oak Initative is a member of the Religious Right "supergroup" known as The Freedom Federation and Joyner, along with Engle and Jacobs, participated in the group's "Awakening" conference earlier this year, sitting on a panel on "Pastors and Political Activity" with Rick Scarborough and Richard Land.

Later this month, The Oak Initiative will be hosting its first ever Oak Convention in South Carolina which is scheduled to include Joyner, Samuel Rodriguez, Lance Wallnau, Jerry Boykin, Cindy Jacob, and others where they will discuss methods for gaining influence over their version of the 7 Mountains:

At this time it is important to establish a leadership forum that focuses on the current major areas of dominant influence and crisis, including:

1. Spiritual and moral
2. Government and politics
3. Media
4. Economic
5. Social Issues
6. Environmental
7. Education

To do this we want to establish a leader and a council to address each of these spheres. Organizing this will be one of the major goals of the August Oak Convention. We will be establishing each of these with a Chairman, Asst. Chairman, and a staff devoted to both Research and Communications. The purpose of these councils will be to provide an accurate assessment of the great issues of the times, and to propose answers and solutions to them.

And among the ways they hope to do this is by creating their own "Christian Intelligence Service" and building their own media empires [PDF]:

The formation of a Christian Intelligence Service

This is for training an army of “watchmen” who are skilled in discerning important issues or events as they unfold, and can gather basic information about it that is accurate and trustworthy.

One of the number one issues that seems uniform across nations and cultures at this time is a deteriorating trust in the media for accurate reporting and information. Most of the people on earth have never had government information sources that they trusted to be accurate, but in recent times even the most trusted governments have had a significant collapse of integrity and trust. If this void is not filled with truth and accurate information, the level of deception of the people will continue to grow. We believe this is a basic call of Christians who are supposed to be a light in their times, which is more than just preaching the gospel, but it is also exposing what is hidden in darkness with the truth that will set people free. We believe fundamentally that all men were created to be free, and that the basis of all freedom is truth.

The formation of media outlets with the highest standards of integrity and accuracy

We intend to build a world-class media outlet that is built more on trust and integrity than just style and technology, though we intend to be good at these too. The body of Christ has the people resources to quickly become a great light that shines in this darkness with truth. We have the ability to almost immediately reach virtually every major nation, and most of the world’s population with news and information for less than the cost that is now paid to a single executive at present media outlets.

And of course the aim of all of this is decidely political, as demonstrated by this new ad The Oak Initiative has posted on its YouTube page which declares that America regrets electing President Obama and the Democrats because they are a threat to this nation and so "we're coming after you" and "now you will pay" in 2010:

Update: Apparently this video has been around for a while and is not an original Oak Initiative ad.

ACLJ, Spiritual Warfare, and Zimbabwe's Constitution

For a while now, we've been covering the fact that Pat Robertson's American Center for Law and Justice has set up offices in Kenya and Zimbabwe for the purpose of shaping the draft constitutions that are being prepared in both nations.

Today, Sarah Posner of Religion Dispatches has an important new report on the intersection between the ACLJ, "Word of Faith" spiritual warfare, and the future of Zimbabwe's government as demonstrated by a recent "Women, Weapons of Warfare conference" that took place in Kentucky:

At the heart of this women’s conference is the concept of “spiritual warfare,” the idea that God has anointed his “generals” to defeat Satan and bring the world to Christ. During this pre-conference prayer session, the group prays for a “mega-breakthrough” and for God to “take down the enemy.” It’s not a war of flesh and blood, conference speakers are quick to point out, but against the evil evident everywhere around us: in the “total moral decay” of America; in the nearby “liberal” Indiana University; in the unexpected frog in the throat of a speaker from Georgia; in the angry outburst of a woman whose husband had left her; and in the fear of failure recounted by speaker after speaker—until they found Jesus, that is. It becomes evident, as the speakers give testimony about their relationship with Jesus, that for many he is not only their savior, but someone they converse with to obtain instructions for most details of their lives. Many call him “Daddy.”

Bourland introduces special guest from Zimbabwe, Pastor Vicky Mpofu, her “spiritual mother” whom she likens to Moses, a figure “God has anointed” to “deal with an affliction on her people.” Mpofu is, says Bourland, “an oracle of God to bring a warning to our country.” She predicts that people, “will wake up and listen”; then she prays for there to be “more than enough to take care of all the children of Zimbabwe.”

...

Mpofu, who co-founded the WWW conference with Bourland, is the executive director of the African Centre for Law and Justice, a branch of the American Center for Law and Justice, founded by Pat Robertson in 1990 as a “Christian” answer to the American Civil Liberties Union ... The African Centre for Law and Justice is injecting itself into the political process of drafting a new constitution that will supposedly pave the way for new elections. The African Centre for Law and Justice is aiming to do in Zimbabwe precisely what the religious right seeks to accomplish in the United States: declare the country a “Christian nation” guided by biblical principles, outlaw abortion, and ostracize and criminalize LGBT people ... Together with the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, the African Centre for Law and Justice is working to garner the support of religious leaders and activists for constitutional provisions that would “affirm that Zimbabwe is a predominantly Christian nation founded on Biblical principles,” and require application of “the Laws of God in order to prosper and avoid chaos and destruction,” according to a pamphlet prepared by the EFZ and supported by the ALCJ.

Backed by the ACLJ, Mpofu has been traveling Zimbabwe to rally religious support for the EFZ’s constitutional proposals. “We’ve had a lot of support from ACLJ in America because for me to be able to go around the country to visit the ten provinces we’ve received some help financially and also we’ve received some help from the teams from America visiting and working with us,” Mpofu said. “The support has been tremendous.”

...

The EFZ/ACLJ pamphlet also calls for constitutional prohibitions on both abortion, by defining life as “beginning at conception,” and on attempts to reform the country’s laws criminalizing homosexuality. It calls for defining marriage “as being between a man and a woman” and for “any and all definitions of a family or marriages or relationships or legal unions that seek to include or permit same sex unions to be prohibited,” as well as for “sexual relations between partners of the same sex, bestiality, and other perversions to remain a criminal activity.”

Posner also posted video highlights of the conference, which has a Lou Engle/Cindy Jacobs sort of familiarity to it:

Cindy Jacobs: God's Mercy Depends On How We Vote In 2010

Last week, Cindy Jacobs issued "a serious warning and a call for urgent prayer," warning that God had told her that unless the nation turned to massive prayer, fasting, and revival - along with support for Israel and proper voting, of course - our economy was going to be destroyed.

Since then, Jacobs has had a bit more time to convene with God and so now she is back with a new video message reporting that God has told her that whether the US receives His blessing or His judgment depends entirely on how we vote in November:

The next elections, 2010, are so critical. We know that they'll take place November 2, so this is what I feel from the Lord: we must declare a forty day fast leading up to the elections. We must have a situation where we have a movement called "Fast America," meaning every single day thousands, hopefully tens of thousands, of Americans will fast and pray for God to give wisdom for these next elections, for His candidate that are His choice - pro-life, pro-Biblical definition of marriage - that will be put in office . It is not only critical but it is imperative that we do so.

This is not something that will be easily turned. It will not be turned without a battle, a battle both through our prayers, a battle on our knees, but a battle with our feet. We must vote with our feet for righteousness, for these pro-life, pro-Biblical values candidates. We must engage as we have never engaged before.

But I know that if we will do this, that God is going to have mercy upon the nation.

There is actually a lot more in the original video, as Jacobs explains how their intercession capped the BP oil well and turned away the hurricane that was threatening the Gulf and also assures us that the Word she received from God has been endorsed by the "other major prophets in the Aposotilc Council of Prophetic Elders," so you know that you can trust that it is totally legit:

Cindy Jacobs Issues "A Serious Warning and a Call for Urgent Prayer"

Cindy Jacobs reports that on July 17, God spoke to her and warned that America was on the verge of slipping into "another Great Depression" and the only hope of stopping it was for massive prayer, fasting, revival, support for Israel ... and, of course, proper voting

A few days ago as I watched the financial news, the Lord clearly spoke these words to me, "The nation is teetering!" I then had a vision of the economy of the United States, on what looked like a "scale of justice." He then went on to show me that we must fast, pray and cry out to the Lord for mercy and solutions that will balance righteousness and justice.

In praying to the Lord for wisdom about this word, I realized what must be done—it is time for the Church in America to stand up and take her place once again in the nation. I mulled over the fact that we have already lost so many of our liberties and this is what I heard, "If the Church doesn't fast and pray for a faster acceleration of revival and awakening, the iniquitous sin structures in the nation will tip the scale that is teetering and there will be another great depression."

Of course, this word shook me to the core of my being. Many of you may be aware that the Holy Spirit spoke to me almost a year before the September 2008 economic melt down, that there would be "no more business as usual."

The balance of the economy is fragile and depending on the way we fast, pray, and how we cast our votes in the next election will depend on which way the scale tips. We must pray and do. We must pray and act. We must awaken the Church to the state of the nation without fear of pleasing man or fear for our reputation.

God is watching to see which way the die will be cast. If we shift the nation to Biblical values in the arenas of righteousness and justice, the economy will follow. If we continue in our stance of support for Israel, the Stock Market will stabilize and prosper, and that which is fragile will become strong. Supernatural solutions will be sent from Heaven that our natural minds could never reason, nor grasp and they will heal the land.

If we do not heed in this hour there will be a tumbling of our economy and dark days will be ahead to such a degree that our nation will possibly never fully recover from and have the greatness as a nation that God has favored us with for generations.

God have mercy. God send an awakening. God send salvation.

Porter Joins Jacobs' DebCo Army of Mothers

Ever since Janet Porter lost her radio program back in May due to her ties to Cindy Jacobs and Dominionism, I have been curious to see how she would ultimately respond:  would she try to distance herself from the likes of Jacobs in hopes of reclaiming her spot as a viable Religious Right leader or would she see Jacobs' brand of prophetic intercession as her best hope for continuing her own activism.

It has been hard to figure out just what route Porter intends to take, as she has all but disappeared from the scene in the wake of her ouster.  Aside from lashing out a few times at those who exposed her growing reliance on Dominion theology, Porter's activism has been nonexistent ... even her movie plans and blogging don't seem to be going anywhere.

But I think we can get a sense of which direction Porter is heading in based on this:

Wouldn't you know it, but Cindy Jacobs spoke at that same DebCo meeting ... and that is Jacobs is the founder of Deborah Company which is an army of women "willing to mothers of their nations" and wage spiritual warfare against abortion and transform every sector of society:

God is looking for mothers of nations. Why mothers? They are God’s change agents in the world. Within the heart of every woman, there beats the call to motherhood. It is the very soul of women to want to protect not only their children, but also the future destiny of the land where God planted them.

Motherhood is not only for those who have natural children. It is for those whose heart beats for the rights of the unborn, little babies crying without food, or young children sold into sex trafficking.

The biblical story of Deborah is about just such a woman. She looked around, saw her nation destroyed, and decided to do something about it. Judges 5:7 says, “...village life ceased…until Deborah arose, a mother in Israel.”

Until is an important word in that passage. To put this in the perspective of modern-day Deborahs, we could say, injustice prevailed until the mothers of the nation arose. Poverty ate away at the soul of school children until Deborah. It seems there are great dangers that threaten the life our parents and grandparents fought for in World War II. This is why we need to answer the call to stand on guard for our nations today. The nation was in danger until Deborah arose!

We need these kind of women today—Deborahs, who are willing to be mothers of their nations. It is time to arise.

This is the heart cry of the Deborah Company. All across the globe there is a coalition of women arising who recognize their nation needs them. New chapters are springing up from the Far East to Central Asia to all of Latin America. Europe is waking up to its need for godly women leaders to say, “Enough is enough!"

Julie Anderson and I were in Barcelona, Spain when I had a dramatic visitation from the Lord. I had a vision of women mounting up on horses across the face of the earth to preach the gospel and change their nations. Julie and I were both dressed in armor and had swords in our hands for battle. I believe those swords were symbolic of the battle that we are in for the souls of our nations today.

After this time, the Lord led me to start a new movement to raise up women in leadership across the face of the earth. It is called the Deborah Company or Deb Co. Our mission statement is “Empowering women to bring reformation and transformation in every sector of society, with a special emphasis on women, children, and the poor.”

Yesterday, the Family Research Council was praying that the Occupy Wall Street protests would "backfire" and that participants would be led "to faith and peace in Christ!" Cindy Jacobs has now issued her own prayer alert through her Reformation Prayer Network in which she warns that there is a "principality, a power of darkness" at work behind the OWS protests seeks to unleash a "spirit of anarchy" in the nation and "foment revolutions" that will spark a full-blown class war: MORE >

Back in August, NPR's "Fresh Air" dedicated a program to discussing the rise of the New Apostolic Reformation that featured an informative interview with Talk To Action's Rachel Tabachnick. Today, "Fresh Air" is following up that program with another episode dedicated to understanding NAR, but this time featuring none other than C. Peter Wagner himself.  The audio from the program has not been posted yet, but the website has posted transcript excerpts in which Wagner seeks to explain his "sex with demons" statement and to downplay his past talk of taking... Cindy and Mike Jacobs host a weekly television program called "God Knows" where they discuss current events, like how abortion curses the land and how such sins then causes natural disasters. On the last two episodes, the guest has been anti-gay activist Michael Brown, author of "A Queer Thing Happened to America" who explained that the ultimate agenda of gay activists is to put Christians into jail: Mike Jacobs: So what is their ultimate goal, Michael? Do they have an agenda that they're marching down a path with? Brown: There are absolutely gay activist organizations... MORE >

Back when Gov. Rick Perry was organizing his massive "The Response" prayer rally, we were hard at work chronicling the ties between organizers of the event and the self-proclaimed prophets and apostles affiliated with the New Apostolic Reformation. But it was not just people like us who were taking note of the fact that Republicans and Religious Right leaders were embracing this new breed of spiritual warriors, as some conservatives leaders began to raise alarms of their own. One of the leading conservative critics of this development has been Brannon Howse of Worldview Weekend, who... MORE >

Before heading to this week’s Presidency 5 conference in Orlando, Rick Perry named two Religious Right leaders to his Florida Presidency 5 campaign leadership team: John Stemberger and Pam Olsen. While Stemberger’s anti-choice, anti-gay and anti-Muslim activism is well known, Olsen is a far more obscure figure, but no less extreme. Olsen has said that same-sex marriage will lead to God’s judgment, preached Seven Mountains dominionism, and even claims that she, as a prophet, will have the power to raise the dead in the End Times. Olsen heads the Tallahassee branch of the... MORE >
