Another claim promoted by Glenn Beck gets debunked by his own website. Russian President Vladimir Putin is being guided by Satan, according to a leader of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Jesse Lee Peterson says anti-gay business owners should agree to provide services to gay customers, but only after telling them that they will use the money from the sale to make a donation to anti-gay legal groups. The National Organization for Marriage's John Eastman is confident that the Supreme Court will not "strike down thousands of years of history and the laws of 35... MORE >

Virginia GOP state delegate and congressional candidate Bob Marshall is standing by his claim that disabled children are God’s punishment for women who have an abortion. “Nature takes its vengeance on subsequent children,” Marshall said in 2010. “It’s a special punishment, Christians would suggest.” Yesterday, Marshall insisted that he won’t be backing away from the comment as he campaigns for the House, and is similarly defending his suggestions that Justice Anthony Kennedy is secretly gay and that abortion should be banned in cases of incest... Bob Marshall continues to rack up support, this time scoring the coveted endorsement of E.W. Jackson. FRC prays: "Pray for those who have succumbed to pressure from activists, frenzied by their radical agenda. May business leaders understand the issues and not allow themselves to be used to promote an anti-Christian agenda. May Craig James prevail in his Texas action and may God use him mightily in his new role as Assistant to FRC President, Tony Perkins!" "Who Is Gordon Klingenschmitt?" Let him tell you! Some keen insights from Michael Brown: "It is one... MORE >

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas will deliver the keynote address at Liberty University’s Convocation on Wednesday. This is a phrase that ought to automatically disqualify anyone who is running for office: "Dan Bongino: Guest of honor at WND Christmas party." Scott Lively has now taken up the case of Justina Pelletier and is challenging his fellow gubernatorial candidates to do the same. Phyllis Schlafly has "endorsed Bob Marshall for Congress in the upcoming April 26 primary to fill the vacancy left by Congressman Frank Wolf’s retirement in... MORE >

Virginia Republican state delegate Bob Marshall is preparing a bid for the House seat currently held by retiring Rep. Frank Wolf, according to a Virginia-based conservative blog. This would set up a challenge to fellow right-wing state delegate and former Clinton-hunter Barbara Comstock. Just in case you aren’t familiar with Marshall, here is a quick refresher on some of his most extreme positions: 1. Disabled Children Are God’s Punishment For Abortion At a 2010 press conference attacking Planned Parenthood, Marshall said that “the number of children who are born subsequent... MORE >

Whenever you hear about a member of the Virginia House of Delegates saying something ridiculously offensive or introducing a radical anti-gay or anti-choice law, there’s a pretty good bet that that delegate is Bob Marshall. So it was this week when Marshall attacked state Attorney General Mark Herring for refusing to defend Virginia’s same-sex marriage ban in court by comparing himself and fellow anti-gay activists to Dred Scott. While we weren’t surprised to hear Marshall making an over-the-top statement comparing himself to an enslaved person denied citizenship... MORE >

In reading through the amicus briefs submitted by anti-gay groups to the Supreme Court, we’ve been generally impressed by the relative restraint of their legal arguments compared to their day-to-day anti-gay tirades. But not so with the two briefs submitted last week by a hodgepodge coalition of conservative groups. Citizens United’s National Committee for Family, Faith and Prayer filed two no-holds-barred amicus briefs last week, one in defense of Prop 8 [pdf] and one in defense of DOMA [pdf]. They were joined in both by the anti-immigrant groups Declaration Alliance and English... MORE >

Conservative judicial icon Robert Bork died today at the age of 85. Mat Staver says Bork would have made an excellent Supreme Court Justice who would have overturned Roe v Wade, if only Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy had not been "so mean" to him. Buster Wilson really does not seem to appreciate our efforts to help him spread his message. We can only hope that, at some point, VA Rep. Bob Marshall's district will grow tired of being a laughingstock and stop electing him. Finally, Ted Baehr and Tom Snyder explain why the Sandy Hook tragedy happened: "By removing... MORE >
