Alan Keyes: Impeach Obama As Part Of 'American Autumn'

Alan Keyes has been calling for President Obama’s impeachment since as far back as 2011, even citing support from divine sources. In an interview in May with Randall Terry, the anti-choice activist behind Operation Rescue, Keyes offered hope to those who would like to “snap your fingers and Barack Obama would no longer be president.”

“We don’t need an Arab Spring, we need an American Fall, we need an American Autumn,” Keyes said. “In America, autumn means go to the polls and vote, and this time we need to go to the polls and vote to remove Barack Obama and Biden and all of their collaborators and cronies from office.”

He urged voters to back pro-impeachment candidates for office: “Put the right Congress in and guess what you get? A Congress that will impeach and remove Barack Obama as the Constitution allows for it at any stage in his tenure. Make that the focus, and I’m doing it.”

Renew America Columnist: Impeach Obama Because God

Dan Popp writes this weekend in Renew America, the far-right outlet run by impeachment advocate Alan Keyes, that Republicans should vote to impeach and remove President Obama from office because God wants them to go through with it.

He says Republicans should take a page from Moses, David and Martin Luther King Jr. and impeach Obama because God is on their side: “If God exists, and if it appears that the President – any President – has misused his authority, then we must do what is right and impeach him.”

Barack Obama deserves to be impeached. He deserves to be tried. And in my opinion he deserves to be removed from office. (So do many of the folks who would be impeaching and trying him, by the way.) If Obama were a Republican, Democrats would think so, too. That's one factor in the discussion on impeachment: the justice factor.

What about God?

What if Moses had thought better of defying his Obama, knowing that the consequence might be a more severe slavery for his brethren, rather than freedom? What if David had come to a reasonable conclusion about his prospects of victory over the nine-foot-tall Obama before him? – or Daniel, or Gideon, or Elijah, or the Apostles? What if the early Christian martyrs had looked at their approval ratings?

If these examples seem too remote, how about George Washington with his frostbitten few facing the greatest military in the world? Or those Christians who dared to try to eradicate chattel slavery, a tragedy that must have seemed like a permanent part of the human condition? How about Martin Luther King, Jr.'s renewal of their struggle? What of the young man in front of the tank in Tiananmen Square?

What if any of these had balked at the insurmountable "political realities" before them?

If there is a God, then what is right should trump any other consideration. He is the One who determines the rise and fall of nations, after all. If God exists, and if it appears that the President – any President – has misused his authority, then we must do what is right and impeach him.

We need a boatload of Esthers today. If I perish, I perish, but this has to be stopped.

Yes, we must be wise about how we go about trying to achieve the right. But we must also have faith. Looking at the polls and not to the heavens is a losing strategy for America.

GOP's Base Clamors To Impeach Obama

Nearly two years into President Obama’s second term, a do-nothing Republican Congress is focusing on its next project: the 2014 midterm elections. But that effort might be complicated by increasing pressure from the party’s base to turn Congress’ energy to impeaching President Obama. The impeachment call, which has existed on the right-wing fringe since the start of Obama’s presidency, has picked up steam in recent weeks as it has been endorsed by right-wing media figures, activists and elected officials.

This has put Republican congressional leaders in a tricky spot as they attempt to placate their base without alienating moderate voters. When House Majority Whip Steve Scalise appeared on Fox News Sunday this week, he continually dodged the question. Ted Cruz similarly batted away a question about impeachment, calling it politically unfeasible. Right-wing leaders including Pat Buchanan and Tom DeLay have urged caution in the impeachment campaign, although DeLay said he would personally “love to impeach him.” Likewise, Karl Rove has warned that when it comes to impeachment, “the politics of it are all wrong.”

Even Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas, who last year distributed to every office on Capitol Hill a book on why the president should be impeached and removed from office and hired an attorney to look into impeachment, is now backtracking and warning that impeachment proceedings could benefit Democrats in the midterm elections.

Now, House Speaker John Boehner is claiming that talk of impeachment is a Democratic “scam” to win voters…an odd claim since it’s members of his own party who have been beating the drum about impeachment.

But it might be too late for Republicans to backtrack on a steady buildup of rhetoric questioning the president’s legitimacy, love of country, and authority to govern, which has led to increasing calls for impeachment from right-wing lawmakers, activists and media personalities... although nobody can quite agree on what the impeachment should be for.

  • In a radio interview last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann said that she believed the president has "committed impeachable offenses” but that first “the American people have to agree with and be behind and call for the president’s impeachment.”
  • This month, Rep. Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania said that there are “probably” the votes in the House to impeach the president for “absolutely ignoring the Constitution, and ignoring the laws, and ignoring the checks and balances.”
  • Also last year, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio of Michigan said that impeaching the president would be “a dream come true.”

Alan Keyes Says Impeaching Obama Would Be A 'Prayer' For God To Bless America Once Again

Long before Sarah Palin started calling for President Obama’s impeachment, conservative activist Alan Keyes had been consistently urging Republicans jump on the impeachment wagon, even suggesting that Jesus Christ favors impeaching the president.

According to Keyes, impeaching Obama would be the first step toward restoring God’s blessing on America by showing that we are repenting for the country’s sin of electing Obama, who defeated Keyes in the 2004 Illinois U.S. Senate race.

“Do this as a prayer to the Creator God whose authority over justice those principles acknowledge,” he writes today in WorldNetDaily. “Do this so that once again our nation may deserve to enjoy the blessings of that God-endowed liberty which has been, and by our faithfulness may yet continue to be, our common hope; our common life; our common good.”

THE COMMENT:

Hello, Dr. Keyes. Even if the House were to impeach … you’d never get the Senate to convict. … What’s the point when the corruption extends into both parties and into both houses? Perhaps the following should be our main goal; we as a people MUST return to a loving relationship with God … we as a people MUST return to virtue. Is this not far more important than “the impeachment field – ripe for the harvest”?

MY REPLY:

In everything I write and everything I do my aim is to encourage people of faith to act like it when it comes to their vocation as citizens. This is why I have constantly emphasized that our first order of business as American citizens is to remember and apply the principles on which our nation is founded, starting with the self-evident truth that we “are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.”

However, achieving this goal cannot be a matter of lip-service to faith. From the first, Christ preached repentance. If we talk about the need to return to God and yet refuse to turn to Him, even in the hour of our greatest need, we are not repentant. Indeed, we act like an obese person who talks about losing weight but who will not turn away from overeating and idleness and back to the standard of healthy living in order to do so.

Repentance is a work of God’s grace, by which His Spirit renews within us the activity of life, much as it did when it mingled with the man of dust in order that he should become a living soul. By this renewal of life God calls us to return to Him, through the way of truth and life that He has prepared and offered us for our salvation. We signify our acceptance of His offer when we walk in this way, not when we talk about the need to do so and then let the deceitful cavils of fear paralyze our goodwill.

I urge you to visit the Pledge to Impeach website. I urge you conscientiously to ponder the cogent facts and reasoning you will find there. I urge you to commit yourself to the Pledge to impeach mobilization effort. I urge you thereafter to encourage all the like-minded people you know and can influence to do the same.

Do this as an act of good faith, predicated upon the principles of America’s independence as a nation. Do this as a prayer to the Creator God whose authority over justice those principles acknowledge. Do this so that once again our nation may deserve to enjoy the blessings of that God-endowed liberty which has been, and by our faithfulness may yet continue to be, our common hope; our common life; our common good.

Alan Keyes Recorded A Robocall On Behalf Of Gordon Klingenschmitt's Bid For Office

Next week, demon expert, anti-gay exorcist and all around crackpot Gordon Klingenschmitt will be on the ballot in the Colorado Republican primary for a seat representing District 15 in the state House of Representatives and he's trotting out the endorsements from like-minded Religious Right supporters such as Susan Sutherland of Colorado Right to Life and Jerry Boykin from the Family Research Council.

He has even gotten his good friend Alan Keyes to record a robocall on his behalf:

This is Ambassador Alan Keyes calling to endorse my friend Dr. Gordon Klingenschmitt for House District 15 state representative.

Gordon is an Air Force Academy graduate honorably discharged after twenty years on active duty. As a whistle-blower, Gordon valiantly defended the First Amendment and our military chaplains' right to pray in Jesus' name.

Gordon's stand cost him his military career and pension, so Congress backed him up. Gordon's left-wing opponent is lying about Gordon's inspiring record knowing that even the Secretary of the Navy was corrected by Gordon and Congress on this one.

Ronald Reagan said trust by verify. Don't be deceived; Gordon is a man of integrity, boldness, and strength of faith and character.

Vote for Gordon Klingenschmitt to defend your Constitutional rights.

Alan Keyes Claims Gay Rights Will Lead To 'Self-Inflicted Genocide' And 'Suicide For Humanity'

Alan Keyes, who is apparently under the impression that gay rights laws will turn everybody gay and create a childless society, writes today in WorldNetDaily that gay rights advocates are promoting the “extinction of humanity.”

In a column titled “Homosexual ‘Rights’: Suicide For Humanity?,” Keyes alleges that gay rights have no place in America because “the homosexual couple is not engaged in the act of human procreation.”

“If genocide is wrong for this or that race of human beings, how can self-inflicted genocide be right for humanity as a whole?” he asks.

As individuals, some human beings may find this activity intensely gratifying. But considered on the whole, in terms of its consequences, it implies the nonexistence of humanity. The homosexual couple is not engaged in the act of human procreation. Their activity is not haunted by the possibility of human offspring. It does not imply the reification of their responsibility for the future of humanity as such. The pleasurable satisfaction it involves does not draw individuals away from their particular selves toward a concrete physical union (in the child they conceive) that represents the perpetuation of their being as a whole, their human being. Their ecstasy is more like the highest pitch given off by a guitar string just before the turn of the tuning peg that causes it to break.

This simultaneous respect for the nature of the individual as a whole and the nature constituted by the whole of all such individuals is the hallmark of the natural law. Human sexual activity in the true sense (i.e., the activity of human procreation) is the concrete paradigm of this respect. Respect for the nature of human sexual activity, therefore, implies respect for the authority of the natural law. The special combination of human faculties allows human beings to act without such respect. But just as homosexual activity implies the extinction of humanity as such, so acting without respect for the natural law implies the extinction of humanity as a whole.

This reveals the supreme irony of the contemporary debate over law-enforced respect for so-called homosexual rights. In their clamor about global warming, poverty or an end to racism, those who advocate such respect pretend to be “humanitarians.” Yet they seek to discard our respect for the activity that implements the law (of the Creator) intended to preserve and perpetuate the nature of humanity as, in and of ourselves, we know it to be.

We do not forbid people to fly because they are born without wings. So the advocates of law-enforced respect for homosexuality may argue. But if and when they propose that, as a species, we should, like Icarus, fly into the sun, what then? If genocide is wrong for this or that race of human beings, how can self-inflicted genocide be right for humanity as a whole?

Alan Keyes Warns Gay Marriage Leads To A 'Totalitarian' Nazi-Like Government

This week, anti-choice activist Randall Terry has been posting on his Vimeo account excerpts of a recent speech by Alan Keyes, in which Keyes warns that marriage equality will create a totalitarian government. Keyes, who once called marriage equality a “communist” plot “to destroy the family” and “murder the masses,” says in the speech that the U.S. is on the road to Nazism due to its policies on abortion rights and marriage.

“How dare we say that the Nazis deserved punishment for their crime but think that our nation shall escape punishment?” he asks.

Same-sex marriage is “threatening to directly assault the fabric of our civilization,” Keyes adds. “Government becomes the total, totalitarian rule of family life.”

“You think that homosexual marriage is about homosexuality, ethics and behavior; I tell you homosexual marriage is about the very founding principle of our free way of life and it ends up making government the all-powerful, totalitarian ruler of every human being from the cradle to the grave,” he says.

Alan Keyes Warns 'Genocidal' Obama Using Race As 'Some Kind Of Magic Cloak'

Alan Keyes marked yesterday’s National Day of Prayer with a WorldNetDaily column asking people to pray for Americans to “reject the ‘leaders’ complicit” in President Obama’s “assault on religious liberty” and “effort to overthrow the constitutional self-government of the American people.”

Keyes, who ran against Obama in the 2004 Illinois U.S. Senate race, said Obama’s allies “pretend that Obama’s black skin is some kind of magic cloak that prevents the nation from interfering with his systematic nullification of the Supreme Law of the Land” and intend to “manipulate the nation’s conscience with respect to racial injustice to make cowards of us all.”

Among Obama’s supposed transgressions? His “shill[ing] for this genocidal movement” of abortion rights “with fanatical zeal.”

The most egregious example of these policies is, of course, the targeted promotion of abortion in the black community. Throughout his career, Obama has shilled for this genocidal movement with fanatical zeal. Tacit support for it extends to the supposed “conservatives” who slyly do everything in their power to promote the view that defending the God-endowed unalienable right to life, and the rights of the natural family, is “divisive” and politically harmful. These “conservatives” even go so far as to embrace a view of the U.S. Constitution that denies its logical dependence on the acknowledgment of God-endowed rights featured in the American Declaration of Independence.

On account of my adamant refusal to stop applying the logic and principles of the Declaration, I became persona non grata in the GOP once it fell firmly under the effectively unchallenged control of leaders committed to the elitist faction’s agenda. The evidence is now beyond conclusive that they are deeply committed to collaborating with Obama as he carries out the elitist faction’s effort to overthrow the constitutional self-government of the American people. That’s why, despite their repeated evocation of Obama’s “lawless” activities, they adamantly refuse to do what’s necessary to organize the nation’s political will in order to apply the provisions of the Constitution that empower the American people to end his lawless tenure.

In this respect they falsely evoke and manipulate the racial fixation. They pretend that Obama’s black skin is some kind of magic cloak that prevents the nation from interfering with his systematic nullification of the Supreme Law of the Land. Thus slyly they manipulate the nation’s conscience with respect to racial injustice to make cowards of us all, during the very time when the paralysis induced by that cowardice will assure the success of the elitist faction’s bid to end our liberty (i.e., right-securing constitutional self-government).

On this National Day of Prayer, I pray that God will open the eyes, encourage the spirit and enlighten the mind of the American people so that they will recognize and reject the “leaders” complicit in this assault on righteous liberty, whatever party label they wear. And so that they remember, instead, that God has provided the only leadership we need, dwelling in every heart that has accepted the word by which He fulfills His promise of salvation.

Keyes Says Bundy Is Not Racist Because Blacks Are Worse Off Now Than During Slavery

From the very beginning of the standoff, Alan Keyes has been a vocal supporter of Cliven Bundy and his anti-government allies and he has not backed away one bit even after revelations that Bundy is an unmitigated racist.

In fact, Keyes is actually defending Bundy, saying that he is not at all racist because it is an undisputed fact that black people are worse off now than they ever were during slavery.

While speaking with radio host Peter Boyles, Keyes said that Bundy's remarks were not racist because Bundy "simply spoke about what he observed" happening to black families in America and that "in statistical terms ... black folks are worse off than they have been in this history of the United States."

"Hear that?" Keyes thundered. "Worse off than they have ever been! And since that includes slavery, it's not racist to point it out":

Alan Keyes Absolves Cliven Bundy Of Racism, Says Liberals Are The Real Racists

Well that settles that.

Alan Keyes tells WorldNetDaily today Cliven Bundy’s remarks on “the Negro” were not racist at all, arguing that liberals are the real racists for describing Bundy’s rant about his nostalgia for slavery as racist:

“He wasn’t talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks,” said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.

“I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure,” Keyes told WND. “All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.”

Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream “racism,” he said.

“I think it’s time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects – the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. It’s time we called them what they are,” he said.

Now it’s racist to point it out.”

Ammon Bundy told WND: “They took what they wanted. They knew when they were there his comments were not racist. He wasn’t able to completely articulate. That’s just my dad. He is a very principled person.

He said he was “there standing right beside my father when he made those comments.” “He was reaching out to the black community,” Ammon Bundy said.

Alan Keyes Likens Nevada Rancher To Rosa Parks, Claims Obama Wants 'The Worst Kind Of War'

Writing today in WorldNetDaily, Alan Keyes hails Cliven Bundy as a modern-day Rosa Parks, saluting the rancher and his allied militia members for their stand against President Obama’s attempt to “crush the spirit of American liberty.”

Unsurprisingly, Keyes isn’t be the first right-wing activist to compare Bundy to the late civil rights hero.

Keyes hales Bundy – who refused to pay grazing fees for over twenty years before launching an armed standoff with the Bureau of Land Management – for blocking the “Obama faction’s totalitarian socialist agenda” and its attempt “to assert pharaoh-like national ownership of much of the economically valuable land in America.”

“[T]hanks to the Obama faction’s bullying, the specter of the worst kind of war looms over our nation’s future,” Keyes writes.

The dispute over their grazing rights on land administered by the federal government brought the Bundy family into tense confrontation with the Obama faction. Obama and his cohorts intended to make an example of the Bundy family, one that would discourage all Americans tempted to stand on their rights from doing so. But what was supposed to be a spectacular execution, striking fear into the heart of Americans who still think they live in the land of the free, has instead demonstrated the fact that at least some Americans have gone beyond thinking. They have taken action.

Following the example of previous generations of Americans, they formed a 21st-century instance of one of the committees of correspondence, which were the backbone of America’s resistance to the intended tyranny of the British government in the run up to America’s war for independence. Instead of the prospect of an intimidating victory over one isolated, vulnerable family, the Obama faction faced the common resolve of an organized community of citizens asserting their right to self-government.

It was supposed to be a chilling exercise of factional dominance. Instead it was shaping up to be a Rosa Parks episode, likely to serve as the byword for inspiring citizens throughout the nation to act on what it means to be American. Worse still from the would-be tyrants’ viewpoint, the Obama faction would come off looking like the bullies they most certainly are, arrogantly drawing first blood in their bid to crush the spirit of American liberty.

Of course, the actual intention of the U.S. government’s delegated land-management role is of no importance to Obama and his minions. Their aim is to “nationalize” the land, using whatever legal pretext is available. As an excuse, they look for some legalistic pretext for asserting ownership the U.S. government was never intended to possess, along with the power to determine how land is used without any regard for what is fair to local interests and good stewardship of the land. What is happening in Nevada is just a foretaste of things to come, as proposals move forward that will have the effective of allowing the Obama faction to assert pharaoh-like national ownership of much of the economically valuable land in America.

This is proof of the Obama faction’s totalitarian socialist agenda. But it also signals that a form of government is being imposed on the nation in which the government’s power is not constrained by respect for the rights of the people, as individuals or as a whole. Instead it is being deployed with the collusion of elected officials who serve as the focal points of factional dictatorship; lords, as it were, in an oligarchic regime that is no longer supposed to represent the people who “elected” them.

Now, in the first two decades of the 21st century, we are acquiescing in a sham electoral process wherein outcomes, transparently dictated by that same elitist faction, are producing an overall administration of government intended to entrench the elitist faction’s power by completing the destruction of the material strength and rights of the people, including of course the right of self-government at all levels, which is true liberty.

Supported by like-minded patriots in their community, the Bundy family is taking a stand for that true liberty. Their action points to the fact that there are many Americans with the character and courage to stand against the would-be tyrants’ abuse of government power, despite the threat of mayhem. It also confirms the fact that, thanks to the Obama faction’s bullying, the specter of the worst kind of war looms over our nation’s future. We could surely avoid it if the GOP’s leadership was as committed to the defense of liberty as the Bundy family has shown itself to be.

Alan Keyes Cites Fort Hood Shooting As Reason To Impeach Obama

Alan Keyes has been organizing a campaign to call on congressional candidates to pledge to support the impeachment of President Obama, and is now citing the recent Fort Hood shooting in an effort to boost his impeachment efforts.

Keyes, who previously said that Jesus Christ will aid his drive to impeach Obama, writes in WorldNetDaily today that the military officials who ruled out terrorism as a motivation for the recent shooting must be lying, and therefore Obama should be impeached.

Of course Keyes offers no evidence to prove that officials were deceiving the public about the attack, but nonetheless demands that Congress impeach and remove Obama before he turns the US into a communist dictatorship.

The stories report that “officials” are saying that there was no indication that the second shooting spree at Fort Hood was terrorism-related. They say that “Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, III Corps commander at Fort Hood, said the shooter was a soldier who was under evaluation for post-traumatic stress disorder.” They say that “the shooter, identified as 34-year old Ivan Lopez, is among the dead.”

So they say. But these days what brain-functional person believes what officials, even those in high positions of responsibility, say about events like this. Just yesterday, April 2, I was reading about Michael Morell, a former deputy director at the CIA, who told the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence “that the CIA ignored a key piece of information that was the exact opposite of what then-U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice told the American public” about the attack on U.S. personnel in Benghazi that took the life of the U.S. ambassador to Libya, among others.

The information came from CIA officers on the ground in Libya, but Morell said “he did not believe there had been no protests because there were press reports describing protests.” What if the III Corps commander is saying there was no terrorism involved in the latest Fort Hood shootings because the people briefing him have read press reports saying there was no terrorism involved in the latest Fort Hood shootings?

That’s the problem with living in a media whirl where everything is being fabricated by people who believe that there is no “truth,” that it’s all relative to someone’s point of view. Of course that includes the bureaucrats’ concern with how others may react to what the facts say about their competence; the military officers’ view of how others will judge their fitness for command; the appointed government officials’ view of whether and how others will upbraid their policies; and the elected politicians view of how their backers will view their viability in the next election.

Moreover, when the power to fabricate information is comprehensively monopolized over several generations, as it was in the heyday of Communist Party dictatorship in the old Soviet Union, the time comes when people at large resign themselves to the fact that their peaceful daily existence depends on conforming to whatever “truth” those in power are determined to impose upon them.

In America we are still supposed to be able to do “the natural thing.” But how many of us discern the fact that our nation is now on the brink? One fact about the latest attack at Fort Hood should awaken us: “While it was happening, soldiers began jumping over fences to escape the attacker.” All were told to “Close your windows! Seek shelter immediately.” So thanks to the lie that guns kill, we lose the lives of people trained in using them to stop the real killers.

So what do you think they mean to do to the people at large, as they collude to disarm us and make us dependent on their commands for our life and health and daily bread, as Soviet citizens were dependent on their party bosses and bureaucrats? Until and unless we dramatically signify that we have not forgotten the allegiance to self-evident truth that has been the foundation of our nation’s exceptional character, we are doomed to be consumed by lies, just as they were.

But unlike them, we can still do the natural thing (i.e., the thing we are entitled to do, by “the laws of nature and of nature’s God”). As citizens we can use our votes to send a simple message to our elected representatives: “The purveyors of the culture of lies, behavioral cowardice and death must go, along with all of their collaborators, or else we will dismiss you.”

I see only one movement under way that rejects the vocationally political culture that now predominates in both so-called “major” political parties. It is the congregation of those who have pledged to use their vote to energize the political will needed to impeach and remove Obama from power, by constitutional means, along with his henchmen and collaborators,. Have you informed yourself about this movement? Have you signed on? Or are you content simply to cooperate with the twin-party sham, thereby proving that Americans, too, have now “lost our strength, our pride, our passion” for truth, justice and the liberty of our republic?

Keyes: Obama 'Is The First Anti-American Occupant Of The White House'

In a post for Tea Party Nation today, Alan Keyes warns that President Obama wants "to compel the reluctant majority of the American people down the path of failed and discredited socialist party dictatorship."

Keyes writes that Obama's "self-destructive" policies are proof that "he is the first anti-American occupant of the White House in U.S. history."

"The challenge is total, and the stakes are no less than our survival as a viable, independent nation," Keyes writes. "It is no longer a matter of politics, but of allegiance- to our Constitution, our nation, our liberty."

In every respect Barack Obama has repeatedly shown himself to be a fanatical ideologue. His words, policies and actions support the conclusion that he is the first anti-American occupant of the White House in U.S. history. Apparently the only power he does not want the Federal government to control is the power to defend the nation.

Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, many people go on assuming that Obama seeks somehow to serve the nation's good. He has rejected the moral premises, criticized the principles and undermined the authority of the Constitution. He has pursued fiscal policies that promise to destroy the good faith and credit of the U.S. Government and bankrupt its Treasury. He has pursued military policies with no rational strategic context or purpose, fruitlessly eroding the strength and morale of our armed forces. Ignoring the unequivocal lessons of history, he has pursued economic and social policies that assault the private sector, curtail individual economic liberty and aim to compel the reluctant majority of the American people down the path of failed and discredited socialist party dictatorship.

On any assumption of goodwill toward America and its institutions, Obama's policies appear incoherent, disjointed, incompetent and self-destructive. On the assumption of hostility toward America's vital interests and its way of life, however, they resolve into the rational, coherent and indeed directly linear pursuit of its destruction.

...

Obama and his faction now threaten the future of America on all fronts. Those who wish to preserve the nation must come together in the realization that we do not face a challenge on this issue or that. The challenge is total, and the stakes are no less than our survival as a viable, independent nation. It is no longer a matter of politics, but of allegiance- to our Constitution, our nation, our liberty. We must reject the moral, economic and military disarmament of America. We must reject Obama, and all his faction and all its works.

Keyes: Obama Must Be Impeached For Spreading 'Political AIDS Virus'

Alan Keyes writes today in WorldNetDaily that Congress must focus on “impeaching and removing Obama and his cohorts from office” in order to stop “his destructive, dictatorial intentions.”

Keyes, who ran against Obama in the 2004 U.S. Senate race in Illinois, writes that Obama is imposing “shackles of the mind” that “have been the mainstay of almost every tyrannical regime in human history.” He adds that Americans must “overcome the effects of the political AIDS virus” that Obama is using to create “tyranny.”

A basis still exists for restoring the political initiative of the American people so as to disrupt this elitist collusion and restore the people to their proper position as the arbiters of political power under the U.S. Constitution. In a multitude of ways, Barack Obama has made clear his destructive, dictatorial intentions. Many Americans have been awakened to the truth I saw early on, that his idea of change involves destroying America’s liberty. Quietly a tide is rising in favor of taking the necessary constitutional steps to remove the danger by impeaching and removing Obama and his cohorts from office. But since the GOP’s leadership has been and is acting in collusion with Obama, they refuse to provide a rallying point for this sentiment.

But with today’s instruments of communication and mutual encouragement, people can organize amongst themselves with relative ease. This is the idea behind the Pledge to Impeach effort. A growing number of senators and congressional representatives are speaking out against Obama’s lawlessness; his abuse of executive power; his all too obvious dictatorial predilections. But they will not be emboldened to act without a strong, visible public demand for action.

Nothing stands in your way except the shackles of the mind that are, in the end, the most effective bonds of tyranny. As I have confirmed from hard experience, even though they are largely invisible, these shackles are of such adamantine strength that they have been the mainstay of almost every tyrannical regime in human history. The American mind was once peculiarly immune to them, on any large scale. Is there left in us some vestige of that immunity? Will it prove strong enough to overcome the effects of the political AIDS virus that has left our polity prey to opportunistic, lawless ambition and greed?

Alan Keyes Wants Michele Bachmann To Lead Campaign To Impeach Obama

Alan Keyes claims that Rep. Michele Bachmann’s plan to sue President Obama doesn’t go far enough and may actually aid Obama’s “dictatorship.”

Instead, he wants the Tea Party darling -- who last year accused Obama of “committing impeachable offenses” -- to join his Jesus Christ-endorsed campaign to get congressional candidates to pledge to support the impeachment and removal of the president.

“Bachmann and her colleagues should take the impeachment/removal pledge, and campaign as hard as they know how to get every like-minded Senator and Representative they can to do likewise,” Keyes writes. “Combined with an energetic grassroots mobilization of voters demanding that candidates for either house of Congress take the pledge, their campaign would help to make the 2014 election an effective vote of no-confidence in Obama's lawless, unconstitutional administration.”

One problem with his approach, however, is that Bachmann is not running for re-election.

Let's assume, for instance, that Bachmann and her colleagues succeed in passing the legislation they seek. (All right, it's unlikely given the fact that the Democrats presently control the U.S. Senate. But "for the sake of the argument," as they say, let's ignore that difficulty.) Let's further assume that their case gets to the Supreme Court, which issues an opinion supporting their view that the President's actions are unconstitutional.

What happens next? Perhaps Obama rolls over, bows to the Supreme Court, and retracts his executive orders. That might happen, or it might not. Let's say it doesn't happen. Instead, Obama rejects the Court's view. To support his stand, he argues that his actions are necessary in order to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, and promote the general welfare of the country.

Let's say he further argues that, by failing to pass laws essential for achieving those ends, Congress has endangered the nation, exacerbating a serious situation which, without his timely preventive measures, threatens to plunge the country into a dire state of national emergency. …

The problem is that the whole sequence of events would set a precedent for successful dictatorship that Obama (and the elitist faction he serves) would abuse for the remainder of his occupation of the White House. It would also directly confirm, for better or worse, the ultimate impotence of the judicial branch (especially when dealing with disputes between the other branches), which Hamilton's lucid thinking foreshadows.

Bachmann and her colleagues need to think this through. They need to ask themselves the key strategic question: If we succeed in getting a favorable opinion from the Supreme Court (which is no foregone conclusion) what do we do if Obama simply refuses, on constitutional grounds, to enforce it? … When you think it through, building these impeachment/removal majorities is the only constitutional way to "force" the executive to respect the Constitution. The Courts can't do it. And even the people can't do it, constitutionally, except at election time.

This is precisely the thinking that led me to propose the impeachment/removal strategy for the 2014 election. Instead of spinning their wheels in an ineffectual appeal to a judicial branch that is ultimately powerless to enforce its opinions, Bachmann and her colleagues should take the impeachment/removal pledge, and campaign as hard as they know how to get every like-minded Senator and Representative they can to do likewise. [emphasis his]

Combined with an energetic grassroots mobilization of voters demanding that candidates for either house of Congress take the pledge, their campaign would help to make the 2014 election an effective vote of no-confidence in Obama's lawless, unconstitutional administration. Instead of risking a precedent for ambitious, lawless dictatorship, it would set a precedent that restores government of, by, and for the people, through elected officials honestly pledged to represent them. Given the gravity of the present crisis, this would be nothing short of saving America's liberty, for us and our posterity. Will Bachmann and her colleagues rise to the occasion?

WND Pundits: Impeach Obama Before He Turns Into Kim Jong-un

Conservative author Diana West is out with a new WorldNetDaily column in which she warns that President Obama is turning America into a North Korean-style dictatorship with “one-party rule” and must face impeachment:

A few days ago, [Lars] Hedegaard wrote me with a new assignment:

“Would you write something about a disturbing phenomenon: the fact that Obama rules by decree and neglects the Constitution. How can this go on? Nixon was a complete amateur compared to this would-be Kim Jong-un. It looks like a coup d’etat. Nobody talks about it in Europe.”

Barack Obama, the government’s chief executive, is seizing powers that belong to the legislative branch. He’s not the first president to do so; not by a long shot. That’s also part of the ambivalence problem. Obama fits an accepted historical mode of abuse exemplified, for example, by the even more dictatorial FDR. Meanwhile, as Obama’s defenders correctly note, Obama, having issued 168 “decrees,” ranks on the low end among modern presidents. What distinguishes Obama’s fiats in our time, however, as Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, told CNSNews.com, is that Obama “has repeatedly made use of executive orders to change statute, to change law, to change legislation enacted by Congress.”

This is the formula for one-party rule. As such, it is outrageous, but it is just more static.

To be sure, some conservative Republicans – Sen. Mike Lee, as well as Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, for example – are speaking out against what Cruz calls the “imperial presidency.” But will their impassioned voices become static, too?

But Obama’s systematic assaults on constitutional governance require more than defunding, and more than static. They require, first and most urgently, a full airing. Impeachment, which may begin with an impeachment inquiry, is the means the Constitution provided us. It offers the way “forward,” as the president might say, to re-establish that America is a nation of laws, not men.

Not to be outdone, Alan Keyes claims that the “would-be dictator” Obama is getting help from the “GOP’s quisling leaders” in his movement towards “tyranny.”

He called on voters to back candidates who have “pledged to impeach/remove Obama and his collaborators,” warning that “if things just go on as they are, liberty will fail for lack of a party of liberty willing to battle against the elitist faction’s budding tyrants.”

If the Executive fails to carry out laws made by Congress (like the DOMA for instance), or takes actions not authorized by law (as Obama has with immigration and Obamacare), the legislature has two ways of compelling him to act, or to cease from unlawful action:

1. the power of the purse – cutting off money to the Executive branch; and

2. The impeachment/removal power – removing the vice president and the president, so that the succession provided for by law brings someone to office who will enforce the laws and respect the Constitution.

Absent active congressional discipline, Executive power always inclines toward dictatorship. Vaulting ambition aside, the pressure of events may feed this tendency even when nothing else does. We’ve had activist presidents before – Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson, to name a few. But only in the last generation or so has Congress consistently failed to use its constitutional power to curtail and rebuke unconstitutional Executive actions.

Even more culpably, since control of the U.S. House was restored to them by grass-roots voters in 2010, the GOP’s quisling leaders have collaborated with Obama’s radical socialist schemes, giving him mainly ineffectual, lip-service opposition. Thanks to this GOP collaboration, Obama has behaved in a more and more openly dictatorial fashion. Like other would-be dictators, at first he abuses power cautiously. When he is not called to account, his impunity leads others to fear him. Their fear encourages him to escalate his abuses. As those greater abuses also go unanswered, fear commences to predominate, until at last few if any are left courageous enough to stand against him.

Was Obama’s move against Dinesh D’Souza a kind of Rubicon, across which we must expect new and higher benchmarks of tyranny? However that may be, thanks to the quisling temperament of the GOP leadership, only a determined push from the grass roots will re-energize Congress’ constitutional power to thwart dictatorship. America needs a Congress willing and able to call Obama to account by way of the Constitution’s impeachment/removal provisions. Without that impetus, the political class will fall-in behind his bid to free the U.S. government’s power from all semblance of prior constraint (too many of them quite eagerly).

The political change needed to get this result must either overthrow the quisling leadership of the GOP, or else forge the basis for a national grass-roots voter mobilization poised to replace the now shiftless Republican Party. If things just go on as they are, liberty will fail for lack of a party of liberty willing to battle against the elitist faction’s budding tyrants.

To remedy this deficiency requires an appeal to the people. The upcoming general election offers the chance to make such an appeal, in order to elect a Congress capable of driving back the elitists bent on liberty’s demise. If people demand an impeachment/removal Congress; if they back up that demand with their votes; 2015 will bring on a Congress differently composed. Reformed by the presence of constitutional majorities pledged to impeach/remove Obama and his collaborators, Congress will have what it takes to defeat Obama’s offensive maneuvers against America’s constitutional liberty.

Keyes: Obama's Pot Comments Make Him Like The 9/11 Hijackers

According to Alan Keyes, President Obama’s recent statement that he doesn’t think marijuana “is more dangerous than alcohol” makes him just as bad as the hijackers in the September 11 attacks.

Keyes, who was Obama’s GOP opponent in the 2004 U.S. Senate race in Illinois, writes in Renew America today that “Obama himself” may have “long-term individual damage” from smoking pot when he was young, which Keyes believes has “grave implications for the welfare of the nation as a whole.”

The right-wing activist is also upset about TV shows “saturated” with “zombies, vampires, beastly human-animal hybrids, amoral thugs, and anti-heroes,” adding that such programs “may yet prove more destructively potent than the Nuremburg rallies, or the Hitlerjugend, as factors for producing virtually soulless, self-glorifying perpetrators of atrocity.”

Keyes claims liberal marijuana laws, along with the teaching of evolution, are attempts to “affect the moral judgment and character of the American people” and undermine “America’s liberty.”

“Much like the terrorists who targeted the Towers in New York, which symbolized America's material commerce, these scornful elitists target the pillars of moral and spiritual commerce that uphold our political constitution,” he writes. “But when liberty's pillars fail, the smoke that rises from their crater will signify the fatal triumph of our stupefaction, courtesy of those, like Obama, who are working hard to make us too stupid to be free.”

"Stupéfiant" is a French word for "drug." It is a compound word with roots that literally mean "to put someone into a stupor," to induce a state of mental numbness in which you are unable to think normally. More pungently put, it describes things that make you stupid.

I thought of this recently as I read a report of Obama's indulgent attitude toward marijuana. He claimed that it's less dangerous than alcohol. The salient question is, "Dangerous to whom or in what way?" With respect to individuals, his nonchalance is certainly debatable. As WND's Art Moore has pointed out, data from "an extensive four-decade study published in 2012 by the National Academy of Sciences showed marijuana can lower the IQ of young teenagers and may cause permanent mental impairment" – "a neuropsychological decline from childhood to midlife."

Moore points out evidence that lends support to the conclusion that Obama himself may be an instance of this kind of long-term individual damage. But given the office he presently occupies, this compels us to remember that in America, such damage to individuals has grave implications for the welfare of the nation as a whole. After all, the person who occupies the office of president is supposed, among other things, to represent the sovereign interests of the American people.

Yet the TV shows, movies, and games massively promoted by these very elites are increasingly saturated with themes (zombies, vampires, beastly human-animal hybrids, amoral thugs, and anti-heroes who shadow forth every conceivable variety of conscienceless evil) that preoccupy the soul with evil. They focus on concepts, tools, and stratagems for the wholesale violation and degradation of human beings. Rejecting the Christian challenge ("Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good"), their preferred depictions of supposedly humanitarian heroes are often molded according to the treacherous maxim "It takes evil to fight evil."

Thus, righteous indignation is made to flow in channels of wickedness, as if there is no weapon in the arsenal of God's creation potent enough to overcome the power of every imaginable evil. Such "entertainments" may be the most insidious kind of disinformation. And they may yet prove more destructively potent than the Nuremburg rallies, or the Hitlerjugend, as factors for producing virtually soulless, self-glorifying perpetrators of atrocity.

But even in the educational institutions we more formally recognize as such, the leading lights of the elitist faction not only promote, they insist upon, an understanding of humanity (the God-denying version of the theory of evolution) that tendentiously abuses the rubric of science. Indeed, it suppresses the very idea of humanity as such (human nature), in order to discredit the moral and spiritual dimensions of the human condition. Yet these are the very aspects of humanity that inform the practical wisdom required to justify and sustain decent liberty.

Why would an individual sworn to uphold, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States show such little concern respecting things that assault the practical basis for the form of government it establishes? There is no answer consistent with his oath. Instead, such nonchalance is solid evidence that Obama targets America's liberty, as do all those who belittle the significance of issues that affect the moral judgment and character of the American people.

Much like the terrorists who targeted the Towers in New York, which symbolized America's material commerce, these scornful elitists target the pillars of moral and spiritual commerce that uphold our political constitution. But when liberty's pillars fail, the smoke that rises from their crater will signify the fatal triumph of our stupefaction, courtesy of those, like Obama, who are working hard to make us too stupid to be free.

Keyes: Rebel Against Marriage Equality Before It Harms Straight People & Leads To The 'Nation's Demise'

In his weekly column for WorldNetDaily, Alan Keyes today claims that the judge who overturned Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage violated the rights of straight people and paved the way for the destruction of America.

Keyes, who has warned that marriage equality will lead to “the murder of the masses,” contends that judges who rule in favor of marriage equality should be impeached and removed from their positions since the legalization of same-sex marriage will “overthrow America’s historically exceptional government.”

“The will to resist such abuses called the American people into existence as a nation. If today that will has failed, its failure will be the headstone that marks our nation’s demise,” Keyes writes. “Be advised, this tragic conclusion is the purpose of the whole ‘gay marriage’ maneuver.”

Keyes even claims that gay marriage undermines the “unalienable rights retained by the people (e.g., the heterosexual couple’s exclusive prerogative of procreation, which gives rise to the institution of marriage and its attendant rights.)”

We’re not exactly sure how allowing same-sex couples to marry will stop other couples from getting married and having children, but this is a recurring theme in Keyes’ nightmares of the coming gay dystopia.

The elitists’ push to legalize, and forbid disapproval of, homosexual relations is the most telling evidence of their hostility toward America’s way of life. It is also the key, in principle, to their thus far successful strategy to overthrow America’s historically exceptional government of, by, and for the people; and to restore unchallenged rule by and for the advantage of, the most powerful elitist clique.

The latest case in point is the ruling of U.S. District Judge Terrence C. Kern regarding same-sex marriage, overturning the amendment by which Oklahomans restricted the State’s recognition of marriage to heterosexual couples. Though the decision contained nothing new, both its content and the manner in which it was argued by both sides illustrate the deadly legal chicanery by which the elitist faction means to dissolve the moral, legal and institutional basis for just government, i.e., government aimed at securing the God-endowed unalienable rights of the people.

By contrast the judges and justices deny and disparage authoritatively antecedent unalienable rights retained by the people (e.g., the heterosexual couple’s exclusive prerogative of procreation, which gives rise to the institution of marriage and its attendant rights.) They seek to establish an unconstitutional regime of constraint upon one of the powers of government constitutionally reserved to the states, respectively, or the people (i.e., the power to make laws “respecting an establishment of religion.”) The will to resist such abuses called the American people into existence as a nation. If today that will has failed, its failure will be the headstone that marks our nation’s demise. Be advised, this tragic conclusion is the purpose of the whole “gay marriage” maneuver.

It is irrational to assume that the same Judiciary that has been the source of these abuses will now suddenly cease and desist. To stop their attack, we must implement the Constitution’s provisions for the impeachment/removal of civil officers who persistently violate their constitutional oath of office.

Alan Keyes Hopes Jesus Christ Will Help Fight To Impeach Obama

Alan Keyes is now citing Jesus Christ in his drive to elect members of Congress who will pledge to support the impeachment and removal of President Obama, who he says is practicing “socialist gangsterism” and using gun laws to have people “slaughtered by the thousands and the hundreds of thousands.”

Writing today in WorldNetDaily, Keyes claims that most Americans do support impeachment but are being ignored by leaders in Congress. He doubts that America can “wait three more years for the chance to end Obama’s destructive socialist coup d’état” that is creating a “vicious, dictatorial regime.”

However, he is hopeful that Jesus Christ “has the power to restore [America] to the better path of human destiny” and help “the movement to impeach and remove Obama and his cronies from office.”

Leavened with malice and deceit, they rise to power, these hardcore socialists like Obama. Once positioned to do so, they move to consolidate unbridled tyranny. Their infamous goal: to impose the “dictatorship of the proletariat.”

That supposedly populist Marxist catchphrase slyly distracts from the fact that everywhere they achieve political success, socialist ideologues practice gangster government – of, by and for a self-serving elitist clique. As gangsters typically do, they encourage whatever vices they can manipulate. They also liberally apply the salt of fear, to make their banal rule more palatable. And when they have attained sufficient power, they do not shrink from doing so with brutally forceful measures.

The U.S. Constitution derives from an understanding that stresses the need for effective limits and constraints on governmental power. This need arises from the same inherent evils that make government necessary in the first place. It is obviously inimical to the goal of dictatorship. Therefore, since even before his occupation of the White House, Obama and his collaborators have worked to disparage, undermine and discard the U.S. Constitution.

But many Americans are still adamantly unwilling to choke down the prospect of life under a vicious, dictatorial regime. Their eyes see past the populist disguise of socialist gangsterism. Some have (I think prematurely) concluded that America’s liberty is irretrievable defunct. But even they have by no means surrendered their allegiance to it.

Others, particularly those who believe in Jesus Christ’s permanent resurrection of hope, look unflinchingly into the abyss, sure that if they remember and trust in God’s law of love and mercy, He has the power to restore their nation to the better path of human destiny. It is especially (though not exclusively) among such people that the movement to impeach and remove Obama and his cronies from office arises.

With all this in mind, it makes no sense to pretend that the impeachment/removal issue must depend on a vote taken by the U.S. Congress “as things stand.” Lately, no matter how much their constituents plead with them, the elitist faction leaders in Congress have made it clear that they aren’t listening, on just about every vital issue.

But if people use the power the Constitution places in their hands, the power of their votes, impeachment/removal may be made to depend on where voters decide to stand in the Congressional elections next November.

Can America afford to wait three more years for the chance to end Obama’s destructive socialist coup d’état? American citizens who answer with a resounding “no” need consider what they can do about it. They need to decide what, as individuals, they are personally willing to do to restore and preserve their government of, by and for the people, the republican form of government guaranteed by the Constitution (Article IV.4)

Yesterday we mentioned the gaggle of fringe figures who are currently pushing the “Barack Obama is not a citizen” conspiracy, but forgot to include Alan Keyes and his running mate Wiley Drake who are being represented by the United States Justice Foundation in their own lawsuit.  Unlike the other kooks, the USJF is claiming that Keyes and Drake actually have standing to bring a lawsuit because they were on the ballot in California and have therefore been personally harmed by the fact that a man ineligible to hold the presidency has been elected to serve in that office... Just last week I was noting that Janet Porter had squandered whatever tiny shred remained of her credibility when she joined the crackpot right-wing conspiracy theory that Barack Obama (if that is his real name) was not a natural born citizen of the United States and was therefore ineligible to be President.Today, she takes to the pages of WorldNetDaily, the home of insane right-wing ravings, to explain as cleary as she can that the very existence of the nation is at stake if Obama is not stopped and that "the gallows for our freedoms are already being built": The... Did you know that Alan Keyes is still running for president?  Well, he is. And I for one am quite pleased about it because it was rather entertaining to read his latest piece in WorldNetDaily blasting Religious Right leaders for being bad Christians because they are backing John McCain rather than him: Regardless of the outcome of the presidential election, the 2008 election cycle has been a winnowing season for all Americans who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. Both of the major parties nominated individuals whose views discard the nation's founding principle of respect... MORE >

Josh wrote about the Alliance Defense Fund’s upcoming “Pulpit Initiative” yesterday and highlighted a quote from Pastor Wiley Drake saying that “nobody who follows the Bible can vote for [Obama].”  Given that, coupled with his past support of Mike Huckabee, I figured that he was going to be endorsing John McCain and didn’t really put two-and-two together until I saw this: "The Bible warns pastors not be lukewarm, or you're like a dog that doesn't know how to bark," Drake said. While Alan Keyes is busy penning 11,000 word attacks against John McCain and his right-wing supporters, his own supporters in the American Independent Party are hard at work trying to get McCain tossed from the ballot in California: A John McCain presidency would be illegal because the Arizona senator was not born in the United States, says a lawsuit filed this week by the American Independent Party. For today’s edition of WorldNetDaily, Alan Keyes penned an 11,000+ word essay dedicated to laying out the religious, moral, and philosophical grounds upon which James Dobson has succumbed to moral relativism in suggesting a few weeks ago that he might consider supporting John McCain after earlier saying that he would never do so “as a matter of conscience.”    In typical Keyesian fashion, he spends the first 1500 words comparing his essay to Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" and explaining that its crushing length is necessary to wake the American...
