This weekend, nearly every major GOP presidential candidate, along with the top two Republicans in the House of Representatives, will speak at the Values Voter Summit, an annual gathering of the leaders of the movement to integrate fundamentalist Christianity and American politics.
The candidates – Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich – and the congressmen – House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor – will join a who’s who of the far Right at the event. The organizers of... MORE >

Of course Sarah Palin is threatening to sue over "The Rogue." Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) is planning an investigation into Planned Parenthood. Bryan Fischer continues his "gays commit hate crimes" crusade. Looks like Mat Staver intends to use his position on the Commission on Accountability and Policy for Religious Organizations to limit the reach of the government ... which is pretty much exactly the opposite of the purpose for which it was created. Maggie Gallagher talks about her new Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance. Finally, September is... MORE >

While in Amarillo, Texas, after his archdiocese recalled him from New York over allegations of financial mismanagement, Frank Pavone of Priests for Life is still making his voice heard. Pavone writes in his blog today that in the same way voters cannot find common ground with politicians that support terrorism, they can’t find common ground with pro-choice candidates:
“When I preach – and help other priests to preach – the clear message that candidates and parties must defend life, some – including clergy – complain to me that my message hurts their... MORE >

Last week it was announced that a "pro-life/Tea Party activist" named David Lewis would be launching a primary against John Boehner. Since then, most of the press coverage has focused on the "Tea Party" aspect of Lewis' campaign and ignored the "pro-life" part ... even though it is the anti-choice activism that is really driving the campaign.
Back in 2010, anti-choice zealot Randall Terry discovered that he could get graphic anti-abortion ads to air on television by exploiting a loophole that prohibits broadcasters from refusing to run or censor campaign... MORE >

Roll Call reports today that four Republican congressmen sent staffers to the Indiana Family Institute with funding from their congressional office accounts. “The April payments of $500 from Indiana GOP Reps. Larry Bucshon, Dan Burton and Todd Young and $1,000 from Rep. Todd Rokita to the Indiana Family Institute stand out because it is rare for Congressional offices to make direct payments to political organization,” Paul Singer writes, adding that “the Members also offer their time to the IFI for the training sessions.”
The Indiana Family Institute is the state... MORE >

Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel and Liberty University School of Law continued to argue that the gay rights and feminist movements tacitly advocate pedophilia during today’s Faith & Freedom with visiting Liberty University law professor Judith Reisman. Barber claimed that the anti-bullying group GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) “sexualizes children” and is “running interference for the pedophile movement” and “making [children] receptive to potential advances from adults.”
Reisman said that “the whole point of the... MORE >

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber has been talking a lot lately about his attendance at a conference put on by B4U-ACT, a group that wants the American Psychiatric Association to drop pedophilia from its list of disorders. B4U-ACT is a tiny, marginal group, and the APA has no plans to de-list pedophilia, but Barber claims the group is part of a larger “sexual anarchy movement” including feminists, gays and lesbians, and proponents of comprehensive sex education. Essentially, Barber’s argument is that since homosexuality has lost its stigma, pedophilia will soon become... MORE >
