Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute discussed the upcoming Supreme Court cases on marriage equality yesterday with host Jim Schneider on VCY America’s Crosstalk.
After a caller on the show ranted about how homosexuality is “Satanic,” Schneider called it an “anti-God lifestyle.” Dacus agreed and added that homosexuality, along with “looseness in the heterosexual community,” are signs that society is “openly waving our fist at God.”
Dacus said increasing support for marriage equality proves that people are unaware of the dangers of... MORE >

Pacific Justice Institute president Brad Dacus warned today that if the Supreme Court overturns the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) then the U.S. will likely legalize polygamy and incest “as society continues to slip down that slippery slope.” While speaking to Jim Schneider of VCY America’s radio show Crosstalk, Dacus also agreed with George Will’s assessment that “quite literally, opposition to gay marriage is dying,” alleging that teachers unions and Hollywood have spearheaded the “indoctrination” of youth.
Dacus: If the Supreme Court rules... MORE >

The New York Times on Saturday covered Dr. Robert Spitzer’s retraction of his 2003 study on the supposed effectiveness of ‘ex-gay’ reparative therapy, concluding that it “failed the test of scientific rigor” and was irredeemably flawed. Reparative therapy, also known as sexual orientation conversion therapy, has been deemed ineffective, harmful, and unethical by leading medical groups, including the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National... The Pacific Justice Institute, a California-based Religious Right group, is attacking a bill that would bar minors from undergoing discredited “ex-gay” reparative therapy and ensure that older patients sign a disclaiming informing of reparative therapy’s well-known “harmful” effects. In an interview with LifeSiteNews, PJI president Brad Dacus called the legislation a “gross and outrageous violation against humanity” and an “egregious attack on children and youth”:
Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), one of several... MORE >

The effort by the Pacific Justice Institute to force California to defend Prop 8 has been rejected. Chinese students will now be learning about abstinence from Focus on the Family. Gary Bauer blames the Discovery Channel hostage situation on the Left. This may be one of the dumbest WorldNetDaily articles I have never seen, and that is saying something. Speaking of WND, this first person tale from Glenn Beck's rally written by Victoria Jackson absolutely has to be read. AZ Gov. Jan Brewer did not get off to a good start in her debate last night. This... MORE >

The Pacific Justice Institute is trying to force California to defend Prop 8. Richard Land may not support the "Ground Zero Mosque," but he condemns anti-Muslim crimes like arson in Tennessee. Glenn Beck has some new website. Peter LaBarber really likes Ryan Sorba. Joseph Farah really hates GOProud. Liberty Counsel wants you to cast a "Vote of No Confidence" in President Obama. Jordan Sekulow says people will continue to question President Obama's faith so long as he continues to be a bad Christian. Finally, behold Mike Huckabee... MORE >

The Pacific Justice Institute is not a particularly well-known group. In fact, it is quite likely that most people who read this blog don't even recognize the name ... but they probably recognize this video:
That is Brad Dacus, PJI 's President, explaining before the 2008 election how failure to pass Prop 8 in California would be akin to failing to stop Hitler.
But just because PJI is less well-known than many of the other right-wing legal groups, that doesn't mean that it doesn't have some rather high-profile supporters, like Karl Rove and James Dobson:
Addressing a group of... MORE >

The LA Times takes a look at the "personhood" efforts, which is now coming to Missouri as well. Al Mohler declares that "liberal theology is taking God's name in vain." Ralph Reed's Faith and Freedom Coalition is now setting up state-based affiliates, with its first one getting off the ground in Florida. Why is it that the more right-wing someone is, the more they seem to love Mike Huckabee? Finally, the Pacific Justice Institute has filed suit against a school district over it anti-bullying efforts, claiming it is really a effort to... MORE >
