In an interview with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg yesterday, Judicial Watch “investigator” Chris Farrell claimed that the crisis of unaccompanied Central American children fleeing to the southern U.S. border was a “manufactured crisis” that was “coordinated and prompted” by advocacy groups like the National Council of La Raza in concert with the Obama administration. Citing the fact that the Obama administration had advance warning of the escalating humanitarian crisis, Farrell suggested that the administration in fact orchestrated it with the help of... MORE >

The right-wing group Judicial Watch has filed an amicus brief in support of Kansas and Arizona’s effort to add an extra, burdensome proof of citizenship requirement to federal voter registration forms in their states. A new law requiring citizenship documents to register has created a huge mess in Kansas, where tens of thousands of residents have been left with incomplete registrations and Secretary of State Kris Kobach has instituted a two-tiered voting system allowing some people to vote in federal elections but not state elections. The Election Assistance Commission has been... MORE >

Larry Klayman, the right-wing lawyer whose bizarre diatribes, relentless lawsuits and frequent threats to overthrow President Obama are routinely featured here on Right Wing Watch, today “agreed to accept a public censure for violating attorney ethics rules” dealing with a long-running dispute with the group he founded, Judicial Watch. Ever so modest, he said he acquiesced to the censure agreement so he can back to his fulltime job of trying to “protect the American people.” The Legal Times reports: “I wanted to put [the ethics... Yet another anti-immigrant activist is claiming that President Obama orchestrated the crisis at the southern border in order to push a vote on immigration reform. Sean Dunagan of Judicial Watch tells the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow today that Obama “engineered” the influx of families and unaccompanied children in order to “make current immigration law look as cruel and inhumane as they possibly can to possibly build political support for some additional amnesty program”: Dunagan suggests Obama is opening the floodgates to these young illegal... At a panel discussion on immigration policy today, Rep. Steve King of Iowa claimed that Democrats support bipartisan immigration reform because undocumented immigrants would “vote for a more liberal agenda” which in turn, “erodes the law further.” King suggested to the panel, convened by the right-wing Judicial Watch, that if given a roadmap to citizenship, undocumented immigrants would go on a crime spree: “When people break the law to come here and we reward them with breaking the law, then they think that’s all right to break another law. It breeds... MORE >

New Jersey Republican candidate for Senate Steve Lonegan is quite proud of his appearance on Bryan Fischer's radio program because it "has a reputation for representing Christian values and the Bible. I’m not sure if I know exactly when that became a bad thing." Judicial Watch is now suing the Department of Justice "for refusing to turn over information related to the Lavender Law society, a group of gay and transgender Justice Department lawyers." We have no idea what Buster Wilson is talking about, but he seems to think we support the burning of... MORE >

As Dave Weigel writes today, the right-wing media’s newest race-baiting theory around the George Zimmerman trial is that the Department of Justice organized the rallies calling for justice after Trayvon Martin’s death. This theory is based on documents “unearthed” by the right-wing Judicial Watch that don’t say what Judicial Watch says they do. But the theory fits right in to the Right’s preferred narrative of the Zimmerman trial, so it’s stuck. In an interview with NewsMax radio host Steve Malzberg yesterday, Judicial Watch president Tom... MORE >

White conservative commentators have looked into the Trayvon Martin case and many have seem to concluded that the real victim is not Martin, but white people who are now that targets of racism from black people, President Obama in particular. Sandy Rios of the American Family Association last week on her radio show claimed that whites are the new victims of racism: I said the other day, I just hate this phrase, ‘I have black friends.’ I know that it’s true; I know that black men are singled out and it is horrific, and I know that blacks have suffered tremendous racism. But... MORE >
