James Dobson recently sat down with Billy Hallowell, the Faith and culture editor at Glenn Beck's "The Blaze" website, to discuss Dobson's most recent book, "Your Legacy: The Greatest Gift." During the discussion, Hallowell asked Dobson about the role that Christianity should play in society today, to which Dobson responded by warning that if the definition of marriage is changed, it will spell doom for our entire society. "When you start to weaken" the institution of marriage and the family, Dobson warned, "it influences the entire culture and, in... MORE >

James Dobson invited Anne Paulk and Alex McFarland to discuss homosexuality this week on his radio show “Family Talk,” and as you could imagine they were not exactly happy with the rise of gay rights in America. On the third and final broadcast, McFarland made the case that “clearly homosexuality is a destructive behavior,” citing “the actuarial charts of life insurance companies show that gay men live twenty years less than their heterosexual counterparts.” The claim that gay people live twenty years less than straight peers refers to a study conducted... Alex McFarland: 'Psychologically Destructive' Homosexuality Creates Problems In LGBT Community, Not Homophobia

On James Dobson’s “Family Talk” radio program earlier this week, Religious Right pundit Alex McFarland disputed claims that high rates of depression, suicide, and self-abuse among gay people are connected to internalized homophobia. “Here in America, we’re told ad infinitum that depression and psychiatric illness among professed homosexuals is due to our culture of homophobia,” he said. “It’s our fault when homosexual people have mental stress.” Furious that anyone could possibly link anti-gay activism to anti-gay bigotry, McFarland... Ex-gay activist Anne Paulk appeared today on “Family Talk,” where she told hosts James Dobson and Meg Meeker that parents should be skeptical when a teenage child comes out of the closet. She advised parents to question their kids by asking questions like: “Why do you think that you are gay? What is happening in your life, son or daughter, that makes you think that you might be gay? Do you think maybe that you might be considering admiration of another person of the same gender and thinking you’re confused by what are normal crushes, guy crushes I think they call them... MORE >

Conservative activist and potential GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson joined James Dobson on Family Talk Radio yesterday, where the two got to talking about LGBT-affirming pastors. Dobson, joining a long line of anti-LGBT activists who don’t quite understand what bisexuality is, asked what pastors who endorse marriage equality are going to do about bisexual people, who he said “have sex with males and females at the same time.” “That’s called orgies, that’s what it used to be called” he said. Carson, for his part, despaired that pastors who... MORE >

In a rambling three-part broadcast of James Dobson’s “Family Talk” earlier this month, End Times author and messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn outlined America’s impending doom, which he blamed in part on growing support for marriage equality. Cahn’s book, The Harbinger, contends that there is a wealth of evidence supporting the idea that the destruction of the United States is imminent. The “pattern of our collapse” has already been outlined in the Bible, he says, warning that if American culture continues to “move away from God,” we will... MORE >

James Dobson is offended that anybody took offense at his hyper-partisan National Day of Prayer speech last month, and feels that he was slighted not only by a Democratic congresswoman who walked out during his address but also by Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, whom he is accusing of “disrespectful” treatment. Writing in his June newsletter, the Focus on the Family founder calls President Obama the “anti-religious freedom president” and suggests that he is the first president to propose federal funding to Planned Parenthood. In reality, Planned Parenthood has... MORE >

After vowing to close his Family Talk organization if Obamacare’s contraception mandate is upheld in court, James Dobson yesterday likened conditions in the US to Nazi Germany. Dobson told conservative talk show host Janet Mefferd that he knows a pastor who “expects to end his life in prison because that’s the direction that we’re going as a country,” warning that pastors will find themselves in a similar predicament as those who lived under the Nazi regime. “Go back to 1939 when the German Lutheran church turned a blind eye to what Hitler was doing, not...
