Tom Minnery of Focus on the Family’s political arm CitizenLink appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show yesterday to preview the Thanksgiving Family Forum, the “family discussion with the Republican Presidential Candidates” that CitizenLink is hosting in Iowa on Saturday along with The Family Leader and the National Organization for Marriage. Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum are all slated to appear at the forum moderated by Minnery and Republican pollster Frank Luntz.
Minnery told Mefferd that the moderators will ask questions... MORE >

Yesterday, the Respect for Marriage Act, legislation that will repeal the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on a 10-8 vote, naturally spurring outrage among Religious Right activists. The vote was not a surprise to conservative groups, who told activists to be ready to fight the bill on the floor of the Senate.
Focus on the Family’s political arm CitizenLink blasted the “ironically labeled the ‘Respect for Marriage Act’” and the Thomas More Society warned of the “great legal problems, great confusion... MORE >

Next Saturday, most of the leading Republican presidential contenders will be gathering in Iowa for a "Thanksgiving Family Forum" that will be moderated by Republican pollster Frank Luntz. The event is being sponsored by The Family Leader, the National Organization for Marriage, and CitizenLink, the political arm of Focus on the Family.
Since CitizenLink is one of the co-sponsors, Executive Director Tom Minnery will be assisting Luntz in asking questions of the candidates and explains that the purpose of this forum is different from all of the debates that have been held... MORE >

I look forward to watching the Religious Right turn this pastor who was arrested for protesting a high school's demon mascot into their newest cause célèbre.
Is Charisma Magazine, which routinely features people like Lou Engle and Cindy Jacobs, really suggesting that people should be jailed for delivering false prophecies?

Pamela Geller declares victory in the ten million dollar lawsuit filed against her. Richard Land explains how the death penalty is actually pro-life. Focus on the Family warns that liberals are using cute, fuzzy animals to brainwash kids into supporting homosexuality. Bryan Fischer explains that we have to support Israel because God said so. Apparently the National Religious Broadcasters is releasing a report about how companies and the internet are censoring Christians. The fact that Mat Staver's lawsuit against healthcare reform was tossed out of court is apparently evidence that healthcare reform's days are numbered. On a related note, Liberty Counsel has produced a new video explaining just how important it is. The Oregon state Republican Party may have removed some anti-gay language, but that doesn't mean much. Shockingly, FRC's Peter Sprigg opposes gay characters in "Archie" comics... MORE >

Focus on the Family and New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms do not appear to approve of our efforts to get New York town clerks to do their job. Speaking of Focus, for all of the organization's talk of seeking common ground on the issue of abortion, The Colorado Springs Gazette is unable to find evidence that there has been any outreach. Operation Rescue stands by Priests For Life. Herman Cain has been confirmed for the Values Voter Summit. Finally, is anyone surprised to find that WND is now publishing Bryan Fischer's bigoted columns? MORE >

Roll Call reports today that four Republican congressmen sent staffers to the Indiana Family Institute with funding from their congressional office accounts. “The April payments of $500 from Indiana GOP Reps. Larry Bucshon, Dan Burton and Todd Young and $1,000 from Rep. Todd Rokita to the Indiana Family Institute stand out because it is rare for Congressional offices to make direct payments to political organization,” Paul Singer writes, adding that “the Members also offer their time to the IFI for the training sessions.”
The Indiana Family Institute is the state... MORE >
