As the backlash against Lowe’s decision to pull ads from the TLC reality show All-American Muslim grows, right-wing activists are rallying to the company’s defense.
Brigitte Gabriel’s ACT! for America launched a petition to boost Lowe’s that ironically defends the right of businesses to “be free to make advertising decisions” even though Lowe’s withdrew their ads after a pressure campaign from the extremist Florida Family Association:

After an openly gay Republican, Greg Gandrud, was elected to the board of directors of the California Republican Party at their convention, anti-gay organizations were obviously displeased. Similar to the debate over GOProud’s inclusion in the Conservative Political Action Conference, when right-wing groups blasted GOProud because it represents gay and lesbian conservatives, the head of the California Republican Assembly has taken issue with Gandrud’s sexual orientation. Starting tomorrow, the California Republican Assembly's 75th Anniversary Celebration and Endorsing Convention gets underway and several high-profile candidates are expected to attend as they seek CRA's endorsement:
The action packed weekend will feature both major candidates for Governor – Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner and Meg Whitman – and the major candidates for U.S. Senate – Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, Carly Fiorina and Tom Campbell.
