Fischer: Stopping Terry Jones' Koran-Burning 'Is Really No Different Than What The Pharisees Did To Jesus'

Yesterday, radical anti-Islam pastor Terry Jones was arrested while transporting nearly three thousand copies of the Koran that had been soaked in kerosene which he intended to burn in protest of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Jones was charged with illegally carrying a firearm and unlawful conveyance of fuel and the latter charge struck Bryan Fischer as laughable as he defended Jones' right to burn the Koran on his radio program today, saying that using this sort of trumped-up charge to stop him "is really no different than what the Pharisees did to Jesus."

"They had to find some kind of trumped up charge," Fischer said, "in order to accuse him and convict him before the Sanhedrin; they tried to suborn testimony, they couldn't even get these counter-witnesses, these false witnesses to agree with each other but that was what they were trying to do, find some kind of trumped-up charge to get him in trouble.  So that's what they did with Terry Jones":

'Homo Akbar!' Bryan Fischer Decries The 'Homosexual Mafia' And Obama's 'Spiritual Cleansing'

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer yesterday tied together the closure of an Oregon bakery that refused to serve gay customers who were trying to find a wedding cake and the rapidly-collapsing story of an Air Force officer who insists he was punished by a superior over his views on gay marriage. Fischer said that the two accounts were proof of growing anti-Christian persecution in Obama’s America.

Lifting a line from WorldNetDaily, he accused gay rights advocates of using mob-like tactics and shouting “Homo Akbar!”

“This is happening everywhere,” Fischer argued. “That bakery couple in Oregon had their bakery completely shut down by a homosexual mob, a homosexual mafia; they cried ‘Homo-Akbar!’ and assaulted, stormed metaphorically, the bakery and got it completely shut down.”

Later in the segment, the Focal Point host maintained that President Obama “has made it a criminal offense to be a sincerely devoted follower of Jesus Christ in the United States Military” and accused Obama of “leading this purge of Christians from the military. This is ethnic cleansing, this is spiritual cleansing.”

Anti-Immigrant Activist on Undocumented Population: 'Weed The Garden' And 'Cull The Herd'

Zack Taylor of the National Association for Former Border Patrol Officers has been a leading voice against immigration reform, charging that “America’s immigration laws are not broken” and estimating that there are around 20 million undocumented immigrants in the US. In an interview with the American Family Association’s Sandy Rios today, Taylor claimed that of the 20 million (a grossly inflated number), “potentially thirty percent” have criminal records – and that immigration enforcement officials must “cull the herd” of immigrants.

Actually, immigrants – both documented and undocumented -- are far less likely to be incarcerated than native-born Americans, and many of those who are in prison are there as a result of immigration violations rather than violent crimes.

Taylor then went on to falsely suggest that the Obama administration is ignoring laws and not targeting immigrants with criminal records. But as Beth Caldwell notes, two million undocumented immigrants have been deported in the last five years and the Senate reform bill “categorically excludes most people with criminal convictions from relief.”

“It’s just like having a garden; you have to weed the garden. If you’re raising animals; you have to cull the herd. That’s what needs to happen,” Taylor said.

This whole business about legalizing an unknown—when I talk about unknown, we’re talking about potentially 30% of the people that are here have criminal records. Why don’t we just go ahead and enforce the current immigration laws? It’s just like having a garden; you have to weed the garden. If you’re raising animals; you have to cull the herd. That’s what needs to happen. We need to turn our law enforcement people into a screw to where the people that are taken full custody arrest of are processed for immigration backgrounds and those that have criminal records removed. That’s not so hard to understand because these people are being picked up committing other crimes.

Bryan Fischer Doesn't Need 'Evidence' Before Making Wild Accusations

As we noted the other day, the Religious Right's current anti-Christian discrimination victim/cause célèbre is Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk who claims that he was "relieved of my position because I don’t agree with my commander’s position on gay marriage."

The Air Force says that Monk is lying which, of course, the Religious Right sees simply as further proof that Monk is not only being discriminated against, but now threatened and intimidated.

On his radio broadcast today (which, for some reason, the AFA has stopped posting on YouTube), Bryan Fischer focused his attention on the fact that Monk's commanding officer was a lesbian when he asserted, utterly without evidence, that she broke the law by serving openly in the military before the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Despite having literally nothing upon which to base that assertion, Fischer declared that the lesbian officer was allowed to break the law by serving before DADT was repealed and so now knows "that there are no rules that are going to restrain homosexuals that are in the military":

If she's an open lesbian and she is his commander, that means she's been in the military for a long time. You don't get there in a year and a half or two years.

So this means that she was serving in the military as a lesbian, as an out and open homosexual long before Don't Ask, Don't Tell was repealed.

She was breaking the law. She was violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice.  She was in violation of military policy, military law, she was breaking the law established by Congress. And yet there she was apparently serving quite openly in the military even though what she was doing - everybody knew who she was, knew what she was about - and yet she was allowed to completely break the law.

So she understands now that there are no rules that are going to restrain homosexuals that are in the military; it's carte blanche for them. They can get away with absolutely anything now in the military.

American Family Association At Last Finds 'The Real Problem With Homosexuality'

As you probably already know, no organization in the country talks more about the issue of homosexuality than the American Family Association. Even gay rights groups talk about LGBT issues less than AFA spokespeople like Bryan Fischer. But it seems that until now the AFA has not uncovered the “real problem” behind gay rights. The group even took issue sprinter Tyson Gay’s name.

But the wait is over. Today, AFA blogger Ray Rooney Jr. writes a column entitled “The Real Problem With Homosexuality.”

According to Rooney, the real reason homosexuality is wrong — no, it’s not that gays are Nazi Stormtroopers — is because gay people want everyone to know that they have sex with someone of the same sex.

Unlike “normal people” (read: heterosexuals), who never disclose that they have sex with someone of the opposite sex, gays just want to “broadcast to the world the details of their sex lives.”

“I am fed up with the gay community,” Rooney complains, because he is “just sick of hearing about how one group of people demand that everyone in the world accept who they have sex with!”

What I find perverse about homosexuality is the insistence from the gay community that I should know about their sexual proclivities. Normal people understand that sex is an extremely intimate and therefore private act. I would find it troubling, if not disgusting, for anyone to talk publicly about what kind of sex they like to practice. Normal people do not want to broadcast to the world the details of their sex lives. There is something wrong with those who want complete strangers to know who they like to have sex with.

Medical statistics tell me homosexuality is unhealthy. My Christian faith teaches me it is unrighteous. Common sense tells me it is unfruitful and unnatural. But none of that is why I am fed up with the gay community. I’m just sick of hearing about how one group of people demand that everyone in the world accept who they want to have sex with!

I wonder if all the stories making the news today about bakers and florists being forced to cater to homosexuals would be stories but for people announcing who they like to have sex with? I mean, did the offended customers come in and ask for a wedding cake or flowers for their wedding and were denied service because they looked like homosexuals? Or did the customer come in and announce their sexual preference and then demand service? I suspect the latter.

I believe homosexuality is wrong. Just like I believe adultery and sex outside of marriage is wrong. But even though I believe I have good reasons for opposing homosexuality as a normative lifestyle based on science, medicine, and faith, that is not why I strongly oppose it. I believe anyone who insists everyone know what they do in their bedroom and with whom is perverse. Normal people do not define themselves solely on the basis of who they are sexually attracted to.

  • Finally, Bryan Fischer declares that "we are never, ever going to say same-sex marriage is okay":

Fischer: Is President Obama Secretly A Muslim Who Is Lying About Being A Christian?

Bryan Fischer dedicated a segment of his radio program today to laying out his latest theory that President Obama may secretly be a Muslim who is practicing taqiyya and claiming to be a Christian in order to advance the cause of Islam around the world.

As Fischer sees it, as a child, Obama was raised as a Muslim but then claims to have become a Christian.  Since the penalty in Islam for apostasy is death, Fischer said, Muslim clerics ought to have issued a fatwa against Obama, calling for him to be put to death.

But that hasn't happened, which suggests that Obama is still a Muslim who is simply lying about being a Christian for the benefit of Islam.

"Is President Obama ... taking advantage of that doctrine of taqiyya?" Fischer asked. "Is he pretending to be a Christian, falsely and taking cover under the doctrine of taqiyya because his role as the president is advancing the cause of Islam? I mean, who knows?"

Wildmon: 'This Is A Culture In Rebellion To God'

Mat Staver was on AFA's "Today's Issues" broadcast this morning discussing Liberty Counsel's on-going legal battles against legislation banning the use of "ex-gay" reparative therapy on minors in states like California and New Jersey.

AFA President Tim Wildmon was particularly mystified by the legislation, saying there is a move toward "promoting transgenderedism" in America and asking Staver if therapists who are prohibited from using "ex-gay" therapy on minors are still allowed to help people transition from one sex to another.

"Believe it or not, you can," answered Staver, which prompted Wildmon to respond with disbelief that "you can help people as long as they want to move to deviancy" and declare that "this is a culture in rebellion to God":

Fischer: Gay Activists Are Modern Day Nazi Stormtroopers

On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer returned to his favorite theory that gays are modern day Nazis.

We already know that Fischer believes that Adolf Hitler was gay, that the Nazi Party was started by gays, and that Hitler filled the ranks of his Stormtroopers with gays because they were the only ones he could find who were "savage and brutal and vicious enough to carry out his orders."

And so, logically, gay activists today are modern day Nazis who seek to do to Christians just what the Nazis did to the Jews ... minus the violence, at least for now.

Asserting that "there are some serious pathologies associated with homosexual behavior," Fischer ran through his theory about connection between gays and Nazism as supposed proof that "everywhere you go, when gay activists gain the upper hand, they are thuggish, totalitarian, and repressive."

"Just as the homosexual Stormtroopers for Hitler were to exterminate and eliminate the opposition and beat them into silence," Fischer stated, "that's what homosexual activists want to do today":

Rios: Military's 'Homosexual Takeover' And Women In Navy Will Undermine Effectiveness Of Syrian Strike

American Family Association radio host Sandy Rios claimed today that if the United States attacks Syria over the Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons, American military efforts may fail as a result of the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the opening of additional positions to female service members.

Declaring that Secretary of State John Kerry is someone who is “not to be trusted” and part of an “untrustworthy” administration, Rios said she doubted that the US Navy will be effective in a possible strike against the Syrian government due to “the homosexual takeover of so much of our military” and roles for women in the Navy.

It’s getting more exaggerated. This is the nature of John Kerry, he always does this; he’s not to be trusted. This is the reason why I think we have to be concerned about going into Syria because the people that we’re looking at to lead us are untrustworthy people. There’s a second reason and that is military readiness. When I looked at those battleships going into the Mediterranean, supposedly getting ready for battle in Syria, I couldn’t help think about all the stories I’ve read about how women now are in the ranks of the Navy, getting pregnant at exponential numbers; when I think about the folding in and the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the homosexual takeover of so much of our military I’m not sure how effective those naval ships will be.

AFA Wants Toni Morrison's 'Pornography' Censored From Common Core

Last month, PFAW Foundation reported on a school board in Colorado that was considering removing Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye from its high school curriculum after parents objected to the book’s frank depiction of racism and sexual violence in the Depression-era Midwest.

In a board meeting last week, the school board decided to continue allowing English teachers to teach the book but to require that students submit a parental permission slip before reading it.

Now, the book’s appearance in the Common Core curriculum’s list of possible high school English texts has drawn the wrath of One Million Moms, an arm of the American Family Association, which is issuing an “ultimatum” for the book to be removed from Common Core's materials.

In an interview with the Christian Post this week, One Million Moms director Monica Cole said Morrison’s work is “no different than pornography” and found the need to condemn a pedophile character’s “use of the Lord's name to justify his actions,” claiming that this character is actually "an extremely sneaky way to involve violence in the school system."

"This book is no different than pornography," Monica Cole, director of One Million Moms, an online advocacy arm of the American Family Association, told The Christian Post in a Monday interview. She then linked pornography to human trafficking, rape, sexual violence, and even sexual slavery.

The author reportedly said "she wanted the reader to feel as though they are a 'co-conspirator' with the rapist," so "she took pains to make sure she never portrayed the actions as wrong in order to show how everyone has their own problems." The book narrates cases of pedophilia, rape, and incest which the author described as "friendly," "innocent," and "tender."

Cole said she was "speechless," that this book would be on the recommended reading list, and she set an ultimatum. "The material that is sexually graphic, we don't agree with it and it needs to be pulled from the curriculum immediately," she stated firmly.

Cole also condemned the pedophile's use of the Lord's name to justify his actions – "I work only through the Lord. He sometimes uses me to help people," the character claims. The director of One Million Moms called this "an extremely sneaky way to involve violence in the school system."

The director asked why books like this one, as opposed to the classics, are recommended to children. She mentioned "millions of books to recommend" as opposed to this one.

Cole stressed that neither One Million Moms nor the American Family Association has yet taken a stand against Common Core in general, but when it comes to The Bluest Eye, she proved more definitive. "Nothing good will come of this," she proclaimed.

The Christian Post also asked Family Research Council senior fellow Peter Sprigg about the book. Sprigg agreed that The Bluest Eye should be censored from Common Core’s recommended reading list and fretted about what Common Core means for "community moral standards," but betrayed a slightly more nuanced understanding of the purpose of fiction:

Cases like this, Sprigg explained, inflame the debate over national education standards. While he emphasized that the Family Research Council has not yet taken a stand on the issue, he defended as legitimate the fear that Common Core "will not leave room for community standards to be applied – especially moral community standards."

While Cole argued that Morrison, the book's author, likely used the book to argue for moral relativism, Sprigg gave her the benefit of the doubt. He argued that Morrison might have just wanted the reader to feel empathy for a wrongdoer – not to condone actions like rape and pedophilia.

Morrison’s book has also come under criticism from Glenn Beck’s The Blaze, which warned, “The book — a past selection of Oprah’s Book Club — has graphic sex scenes and descriptions that are likely to make you blush.”

Fischer: America Will Never Elect A Saggy, Old Woman Like Hillary Clinton As President

It is well established that Bryan Fischer is unapologetically sexist, especially when it comes to the issue of a woman becoming President of the United States, so it is no surprise that he has recently begun attacking possible Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in blatantly sexist ways.

He did so again on his radio broadcast today, predicting that Clinton will not become president because voters don't want to "elect an old woman to the Oval Office ... She's just going to be too old, going to be too saggy, gravity will have done too much of its mojo on her; she's just going to look old and tired next to virtually anybody that the Republicans run out there":

Fischer: Liberals Can't Be Wise Because They Don't Fear The Lord

Bryan Fischer began his radio program yesterday with a discussion of Psalm 111; in particular, the verse that states that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding."

"That is the basic divide in our culture," Fischer claimed, asserting that liberals cannot be wise or have any understanding because they do not fear the Lord.

"We talk everyday for two hours about how clueless people on the left are. Why is that? Because they do not have the fear of the Lord.  You cannot be clued in, you can't be discerning, you can't be perceptive, you can't be wise unless you begin with a holy reverence for God":

Fischer: Russia's Anti-Gay Law Is Exactly The Sort Of 'Public Policy That We've Been Advocating'

On his radio broadcast this afternoon, Bryan Fischer delivered a vigorous defense of Russia's anti-gay "propaganda" law, saying that, if anything, it doesn't go far enough.

Fischer commended Russia for trying to reestablish their Christian heritage and for understanding that "homosexual behavior is a moral evil."  Fischer lamented that, for now the law only bans the spread of homosexual propaganda to teenagers, but remains hopeful that Russia will eventually realize that homosexuality is a "moral evil" for everyone.

Even still, Fischer said, "at least they're ahead of us on recognizing that it's a moral evil to propagandize this lifestyle among teenagers."

Fischer then wondered by so few in the anti-gay activists have been willing to stand up in defense of Russia's bigoted law, especially since "this is public policy that we've been advocating and here is a nation in the world that is actually putting it into practice":

McCullough: Obama Is A Racist And A 'Flaming Hypocrite'

Despite the fact that authorities are saying that race did not play a role in the shooting death of Christopher Lane or the beating that killed World War II vet Delbert Belton, commentators on the right are absolutely convinced that it did.

As such, "AFA Today" broadcast host Kevin McCullough blasted President Obama on Friday for failing to speak out about either crime, which apparently proves that Obama is racist and a "flaming hypocrite":

Please Mr. Obama, explain to me your silence, explain to me your deafness to the cries of people that genuinely hurt.

What's that?  All we have is crickets?

Oh, because you're a flaming hypocrite. I get it.  Okay.  As long as we understand the game as it's being played. As long as we understand that it's okay for you to be a racist in the White House while accusing everyone else to be a racist.  As long as we understand that that's the way it works; now we know.  Now we've been made fully aware and now we can operate in a world where truth exists because we now see for ourselves that you're nothing but a flaming, hypocritical opportunist that seeks to prop up your own advantage via created outrage and anger when it doesn't exist and totally willing to be a total flaming hypocrite when it does exist on the other hand.

The fact that you're a two-bit circus squaller [sic] about this and that you're out there and your willing to chase that ambulance when you think there's a buck in it for you and you're not willing to take a stand, take a morally righteous stand to defend people that are shot down or beaten to death flashlights simply because they happen to be race that is different than the people attacked them.

Mr. President, I'm grateful; you're helping me today, Mr. President, you're helping me understand that racism comes in all forms and colors and that you yourself exhibit it as much as anybody else does, especially those that you've accused of it in the past.

Fischer: 90% Of Americans Think Gay Sex Is Disgusting And Repulsive

Earlier this month, a recording was leaked in which San Antonio Councilwoman Elisa Chan could be heard railing against a proposed anti-discrimination ordinance and gays in general.  There has understandably been an outcry over her comments, such as her statement that homosexuals are "disgusting," but Chan is refusing to apologize ... and, for that, she is being praised by Bryan Fischer.

Fischer said on his radio program yesterday that Chan has nothing for which she needs to apologize because everything she said are "things that anybody who is thinking rightly and clearly about homosexuality would believe."

"I would guarantee you," Fischer said, "90% of the American people, if they would stop and think about what actually happens in homosexual sexual behavior, they would find it disgusting":
