The American Family Association (AFA) has been a long-time promoter of "traditional moral values" in the media, particularly television. AFA built its reputation on organizing boycotts against sponsors of TV shows with "anti-Christian" messages and ideas, or against companies it claims support the so-called "homosexual agenda" or marriage equality. Mississippi is the last state in the nation that bans adoption by gay couples and this ban is currently being challenged in court by several same-sex couples, prompting Bryan Fischer to warn that gay activists are seeking to reimpose slavery on the south. On his radio show today, Fischer declared that "if the homosexual lobby is successful on this, then they will be forcing the state of Mississippi, against its will" to drop its ban on gay adoption, which is nothing more than tyranny and the imposition of slavery. "Ladies and gentlemen," Fischer said, "that is just a... MORE >
Ted Cruz Tells AFA That Mobilizing Christians To 'Vote Biblical Values' Is The Key To Saving America

As we noted yesterday, Sen. Ted Cruz was scheduled to stop by the headquarters of the American Family Association, an anti-gay hate group, during a campaign swing through Tupelo, Mississippi, this morning for an interview with AFA president Tim Wildmon. Cruz indeed stopped by and told Wildmon that the key to saving America was to mobilize conservative Christians to vote. "Nothing is more important in the next 18 months than that the body of Christ rise up and that Christians stand up, that pastors stand up and lead," Cruz proclaimed. "In this last election, 54 million... MORE >

Tomorrow morning, Sen. Ted Cruz will be in Tupelo, Mississippi, for a presidential campaign rally, which just so happens to be where the headquarters of the American Family Association, a viciously anti-gay hate group and the home of some of the most bigoted voices on Religious Right radio today, is located. Naturally, Cruz will be stopping by the AFA while he is in town for an in-person radio interview with AFA president Tim Wildmon, who is the sort of reasonable person who reacted to the Supreme Court's gay marriage ruling by calling it "a spiritual 9/11." As Bryan Fischer... MORE >

On his program today, Bryan Fischer defended Donald Trump 's sexist attacks on Megyn Kelly after the Fox News host dared to question Trump about his past sexist remarks during last week's Republican primary debate. As Fischer sees it, Trump's philosophy is that "I'm not going to attack anybody, but if you attack me, then I am going to counter punch" and so his attacks on Kelly have actually been a sign of "ultimate respect" for women. "I think you could make an argument that he has shown women more respect than anybody else because he is showing them... MORE >

In last night’s Republican presidential debate, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson said he would base a new tax system on the biblical system of tithing. “I think God is a pretty fair guy,” he said. And he said, you know, if you give me a tithe, it doesn’t matter how much you make. If you’ve had a bumper crop, you don’t owe me triple tithes. And if you’ve had no crops at all, you don’t owe me no tithes. So there must be something inherently fair about that. And that’s why I’ve advocated a proportional tax system. You make $10 billion... The American Family Association’s Sandy Rios devoted her radio program this morning to taking calls from listeners about last night’s Republican presidential debates on Fox News. One listener, who identified himself as “Dave” called in to say that he would “love to see a Ted Cruz–Ben Carson ticket” and “then in eight years, I’d love to see Ben Carson be the first black president” in contrast to the current “Muslim president.” Rios responded with her own theories about President Obama’s religious affiliation:... American Family Association official Sandy Rios praised Donald Trump yesterday for being the “antidote” to “the horrible disease” of “political correctness” that is “infecting this country.” When Rios asked her radio program’s listeners to call in and tell her who they were supporting for president, a Trump supporter told her that he likes the billionaire because he “cannot be controlled by the money, so he is saying things and he’s pushing the other candidates to where they cannot say nothing.” Rios responded that she... Sandy Rios: 'Black Criminals' Targeting 'White Men,' Just As Planned Parenthood Trying To 'Do Away With Minorities'
SUBMITTED BY: Miranda Blue, Tuesday 08/04/2015, 4:48pm
American Family Association official Sandy Rios reacted to the shooting of a Memphis police officer yesterday by embarking on an “all lives matter” discourse in which she explained that racism goes both ways because “we have a lot of black men targeting … white men and white people,” just as Planned Parenthood “seems to target minority communities” in an effort to “do away with minorities.” Just as the Charleston church shooting was “a white racist shooting black people,” she said on her American Family Radio program, “...
