Keyes Blames Gay Rights For Alleged Penn State Cover-Up

Alan Keyes today blamed increasing acceptance of homosexuality for the potential cover-up of child abuse at Penn State University. Writing for WorldNetDaily, whose editor Joseph Farah already blamed gay rights for the scandal, Keyes said that acceptance of homosexuality may have been the reason that claims of child molestation and rumors floated by sportswriter Mark Madden of child prostitution were not reported to the police.

Keyes suggests that the “almost religious promotion of homosexuality” created a culture of “political correctness” that prevented people from investigating Sandusky. Keyes said that people at Penn State were probably afraid of crossing “the zealous advocates of homosexual rights” who he accused of “pretending to draw the line at the sexual abuse of children”:

When it was only a rumor, Mark Madden accurately foreshadowed the news about Penn State's cover-up of the allegations about Jerry Sandusky. So when I read the above quoted account of his willingness to allude to a rumor that there may be an even more ugly aspect to Sandusky's alleged crimes, it gave me pause. If the allegations against Sandusky are true, there's an aspect of the situation that doesn't make sense. Why would higher-ups be willing to risk their reputations and life-long careers to cover for the wrongdoing of one of their subordinates? Despite the almost religious promotion of homosexuality now in evidence at all too many of America's institutions of so-called "higher learning," it's hard to believe that they would thus willingly sacrifice themselves to the gods of "political correctness," especially given the fact that the zealous advocates of homosexual rights are still pretending to draw the line at the sexual abuse of children.

The insistence that in human affairs power must respect the boundaries imposed by right reflects the conscientious understanding the American founders intended to be the bedrock of the constitutional republic. This is the root of the ideas of limited government America's contemporary elites, pretending they seek to do good, are now determined to discard. Yet more and more there comes to light a morass of power abuse – for sex, for money and above all for the self-gratifying vanity of power itself. Now more than ever the wisdom of America's founders proves true. The essential purpose of legitimate government is to safeguard God-given right by limiting and constraining power abuse. Those who pretend to do us good as they discard and disregard constitutional constraints (and encourage us to cast away our sense of the moral ones) are preparing in fact to restore the Old Regime in politics and society at large; the one in which, without regard to God or any power but their own, masterful elites may expect no effective opposition as they use force, deceit, bribery and fear to gratify and advance their ambitions.

Keyes: Mission To Kill Bin Laden May Have Been "Driven By Political Considerations"

After warning that President Obama was devising a scheme of using international forces to stay in power, Alan Keyes is now raising doubts about the successful operation to kill Osama bin Laden. Keyes likens the Obama administration to the Soviet Union, and claims that “back chatter” tells him that Obama and his advisers may have been opposed to the raid against bin Laden because of his “politically correct concerns about offending Islamic sensibilities” that made him “act the part of timid politicos.” But Keyes also maintains that Obama wanted bin Laden killed rather than capture him alive for more sinister, politically-motivated reasons:

Following the track of events in America's governmental and political life these days is like reading Pravda in the heyday of Soviet Communism. This should come as no surprise in an era when the executive branch of the U.S. government is dominated by a faction whose figurehead sports a biography steeped in his ideological affinity for hard-line leftist associates (not excluding the kind of terrorist affinities for which Obama mentor Bill Ayers is justly infamous).

The ostensible decapitation of the al-Qaida terrorist network (otherwise known as the takedown of Osama bin Laden) has just the sort of pretzel twists that beg for an informational Rosetta stone and an expert to make good use of it who is well-versed in the many arcane languages of political intrigue. The sequence of events, like the characters, words and phrases of an unknown language, have what seems to be a familiar structure. But every translation runs into contradictions that disturb the complacent assumption that we are dealing with familiar terms.

Back chatter is also coming to the fore that suggests that both the timeline and substance of the decision-making process were hardly as straightforward as this story line makes them appear. Did the U.S. government know of bin Laden's whereabouts for weeks or even months? Was there a tussle over the decision to act against bin Laden, one in which considerations of political risk, joined with politically correct concerns about offending Islamic sensibilities to make Obama and his White House associates act the part of timid politicos, rather than intrepid executives with a righteous zeal for justice?

If you had such an intelligence asset, what would drive your decision to liquidate it? Does it serve an intelligence purpose? Is it driven by political considerations? In this case, the story of Obama's intrepid takedown of the terrorist kingpin draws attention away from the rising influence in the Middle East and North Africa of the fanatical Islamic fundamentalist forces that spawned al-Qaida in the first place. It draws attention away from the pressures now being brought to bear against Israel to accept a practicing terror organization (Hamas) as an interlocutor in the so-called Middle East peace process. And of course, it provides at least a temporary reversal of the American people's distrust and loss of confidence in Obama and his faction.

Keyes: Congress Should Conduct A Forensic Examination Of Obama's Birth Certificate

After calling on Congress to impeach Obama before an international military force tries to keep him in power, Alan Keyes is now urging Congress to conduct a forensic examination of President Obama’s long-form birth certificate. Keyes, an outspoken birther, claimed that the birth certificate’s release was a great victory for the birther movement, but then went on to doubt its authenticity and demanded an investigation by the GOP-controlled House:

The GOP leaders in the House of Representatives kicked off the new term by reading the Constitution of the United States into the record. Such lip service is not purely worthless, so long as the words it contains are implemented with integrity. In that spirit, will the House now move to demand proper forensic examination of the new evidence Obama has released? Will they put fealty to the Constitution above all fearful political considerations? Will they seek by proper constitutional means to assure a fair hearing for the issue, by due process of law, and including the issue of law the courts have refused to address, to wit: Does the phrase "natural born citizen" mean that both parents must have been U.S. citizens at the time of the child's birth?

Deception, gullibility and cowardice have prevented resolution of this whole matter for far too long. It is time for the elected representatives of the people to show themselves worthy of the courage and common sense of the people they are supposed to represent. Then and only then will this controversy be properly resolved; then and only then will the Constitution gain the victory. And it will not be a triumph for one person's vanity and ambition, or for any self-serving faction or party. Rather, it will be a victory for the sovereignty and self-government of the whole free people of the United States.

Keyes isn’t the only birther requesting such an inspection. Fellow WND columnist Craige McMillan berated Republicans for not making the birth certificate an issue in the election and simultaneously lauded Trump for sabotaging Obama’s plan “to use the birth certificate issue as a distraction during the 2012 election campaign.” He then insisted on a forensic examination of the birth certificate on a live TV show because Obama had enough time and resources to forge the document:

First, I believe this shows that Donald Trump was correct in his strategic assessment that Obama had planned to use the birth certificate issue as a distraction during the 2012 election campaign. Trump's efforts have denied him that ability.

Second, Trump has shown that even an issue that socialist big-media have delivered last rites over can be dug up and resurrected from the old ink-drum burial ground and brought to the forefront of public opinion by a prominent individual. This is a real slap in the face to the GOP establishment in our nation's capital. It shows that the tea party must continue to bring challengers forward during the primaries to remove the fossilized deadwood in the GOP.

Third, I think that, given the level of deceit shown by Mr. Obama to date, the physical birth certificate needs to be inspected by a panel of forensic document experts who visit it in its Hawaiian archive home. I would suggest that this be done on a live television broadcast, without edits. I say this only because Mr. Obama has had two years to use some of the best document forgers in the world (if our intelligence agencies still hold that distinction) to produce a long-form birth certificate. Yet he will still have found it difficult to alter the physical record that exists in Hawaii's archives.

Keyes: God Is Getting Ready To Destroy America

In addition to sharing a stage with Janet Porter, Rick Joyner, and Jerry Boykin at The Oak Initiative Summit, Alan Keyes was also a featured attraction on the main stage, where he ranted that God created America so that all citizens would act according to His law and to His will.  But America has squandered that gift and so it is only a matter of time before God destroys this nation ... and the recent earthquake in Japan is proof that such a time is getting near:

Keyes: Impeach Obama Before It's Too Late

Addressing the dominionist Oak Initiative summit this weekend, Alan Keyes used his opportunity on stage with Janet Porter, Jerry Boykin, and Rick Joyner to urge Congress to impeach President Obama on the grounds that Obama is supporting international interventions in Libya and the Ivory Coast so as to establish a "precedent" whereby were he were to lose his reelection bid and refuse to "give up power," the international community would intervene militarily in the US to keep him in office.

In the video, posted by a conference attendee, Keyes said that if we “actually follow the Constitution” the people will vote out Obama and that Congress will impeach him:

The Religious Right's Merger With Apostolic Dominionism Continues Apace

Janet Porter lost her radio program after she became deeply involved in Dominionism ... but that hasn't in any way dissuaded her.  And why would it?  Dominionism is an increasingly accepted agenda within the Religious Right.

So, since losing her program, Porter has gone on to fully embrace the movement and its theology, bringing in Dominionist economists to testify on behalf of her "Heartbeat Bill" in Ohio and teaming up with Cindy Jacobs to pray that God will hand the government over to Christians.

So it is no surprise to find out that Porter will again be joining Jacobs for a "Sealed Conference" in August in Arizona where she will once again preach on "Reclaiming the Government":

But before that, Porter will be in South Carolina with Rick Joyner and Jerry Boykin for the "Oak Initiative Summit" this weekend which has just made two key additions - Alan Keyes and Tony Perkins:

I guess it should not come as a surprise to see Perkins lining up with full-blown Dominionists like Porter, Boykin, and Joyner since just last month it was announced that he'd be part of the modern-day Spartan army of Religious Right activists they were forming called "300":

Keyes Can't Believe Gays Will Be Allowed In the Military While Birthers Are Going to Prison

Alan Keyes says hope for America is fading fast now that we are on the verge of allowing gays to take over the military while simultaneously sending "honorable" Birther soldiers to prison ... and it is all part of President Obama's plan to "destroy the American constitutional republic":

Though portrayed as a matter of rights for homosexuals, this is really an issue of coercion again those who conscientiously reject homosexual activity as a matter of faith and morals ... In true Machiavellian fashion, this will of course empower homosexuals to accuse and by accusation to destroy the careers of other service personnel at will ...  It will give extraordinary authority to the protected practitioners of homosexuality, who will become the de facto censors of the sexual attitudes of others. It will contribute to a military culture hostile to the fundamental precepts of natural right, precepts without which liberty and constitutionally limited government cannot rationally be maintained. A military imbued with such hostility (under the formal and informal influence of individuals personally motivated to resent the doctrine of natural law that historically stigmatized the sexual gratification they prefer) becomes the ideal instrument for those who mean to discard constitutional government, and by force impose policies upon the people that disregard and trample upon their natural and therefore unalienable rights. The result will be a military force questionable in its defense of the Constitution, but most reliable in enforcing laws that ignore or trample upon the political rights it was framed to respect and preserve.

It is no wonder that on the same day the Obama faction Democrats in the House passed the legislation meant to inaugurate this new military culture, an unjust court-martial rendered its verdict against an honorable officer whose only crime was seeking reassurance that the Constitution of the United States has been respected in the disposition of the office of commander in chief. This is the harbinger of the sorry truth. If the Obama faction and its GOP fellow travelers like Scott Brown (and, by the way, Ron Paul who voted with the Obama faction in the House) impose their will, soon there will be no place in the military for those who treat their oath to defend the Constitution as a matter of conscience. The honorable tradition of true citizen service will altogether yield to the mercenary and ambitious mentality of those who seek above all to gratify their own pleasure and ambition.

With the election of Barack Obama, we saw the advent of the political leadership suited finally to destroy the American constitutional republic. Once the culture of law-imposed homosexuality takes hold of the military, Americans will live in the shadow of the military force that corresponds to it. God help us.

Bachmann "Likely" to Attend Conference Advocating War With Iran?

I think it is safe to say that nothing good can come from a conference in which a bunch of right-wingers and Muslim-haters gather to promote methods to "liberate the Iranian people and the world from the on-going and brutal repression" of the government in Iran: 

On November 17, 2010, Freedom Watch and the Foundation for Democracy in Iran will host a symposium at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to discuss and formulate policy on how the United States and the West can liberate the Iranian people and the world from the on-going and brutal repression of the Persian freedom movement now underway in the Islamic Republic and eliminate the threat of atomic weapons and a potential nuclear holocaust.

This conference is timely and important, as the policy of "appeasement" that has been attempted by the Obama administration and the European Union has proven to be a dismal failure. It is hoped that this conference will help convince the new Congress, with the House of Representatives now in Republican hands, independent Democrats, and other entities, to push harder for U.S. and western intervention to remove this dangerous radical Islamic regime before it is too late.

This conference will showcase distinguished leaders whom are experts on Iranian issues. Among the speakers are former CIA Director James Woolsey, former CIA double "agent" Reza Kahlili, whose recent book, "A Time to Betray" details his time as an American spy inside the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, former Reagan administration national security advisor, Frank Gaffney, investigative journalist and Iran specialist Ken Timmerman, human rights activist and former Miss Canada Miss World runner-up, Nazanin Afshin-Jam, founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, Larry Klayman and U.S. Senators and Congressmen.

They will all offer insight as to how the U.S. and the West must now take action to remove the Islamic regime, thereby bringing about freedom for the Persian people and eliminating the prospect of a nuclear holocaust by radicals bent on the destruction of and dominance over western civilization and Israel.

Among the politicians listed as "invited speakers" are Dana Rohrabacher, Trent Franks John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Sarah Palin, Marco Rubio, and Alan West ... as well as Michele Bachmann, who is the only one listed as "likely" to attend.

Keyes: GOP Can’t Be Trusted Until They Embrace Birtherism

No stranger to hyperbole, Alan Keyes in his latest column for WorldNetDaily suggests that the war between “Obama’s Mao Zedong-style forced march to socialism” and people who “love liberty” comes down to the question of Obama’s eligibility to serve as President. Keyes claims that while the GOP’s sins of massive spending, elitism, and political moderation are bad, their refusal to endorse Birtherism outright is even worse.

According to Keyes, the Republicans in the House can only defend the “constitutional republic” if they ardently contest Obama’s eligibility to serve as President, and assist Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, the Birther soldier who refuses to obey orders from the military and is facing a dishonorable discharge. Keyes writes:

I see little or no evidence that the GOP embraces the forthright and positive commitment to liberty America has and should always represent. I see strong evidence that they do not. The best proof is their cowardly acquiescence in Obama's contemptuous disregard for the authority of the U.S. Constitution, epitomized by his stubborn refusal to do what's necessary to establish that he is in fact constitutionally eligible to hold the office whose perquisites he presently abuses to defend that refusal. Not content with arrogant legal maneuvers, the Obama faction and its fellow travelers are now doing what all those determined to establish tyranny routinely do. They are seeking to destroy, and so make an example of, an honorable individual whose only "crime" is his refusal to join the jackals who are willing to conspire in Obama's overthrow of the Constitution's authority. Lt. Col. Terry Lakin awaits the commencement of the Stalinesque "show trial," a planned and orchestrated travesty of military justice intended to stifle legitimate public doubts by showing what happens to those who have the nerve to insist that politicians and government officials respect the Constitution's prerequisites for the exercise of power.

All the powers that be in the Republican Party have joined in the conspiracy of silence that allows this good man, this decorated officer, this truly courageous patriot, to be persecuted. Many of them and their cohorts in the Republican-leaning media have joined in the insidious effort to demean and silence anyone who articulates the reasonable arguments that prove the rightness of his cause. They have thus tacitly espoused and abetted the poisonous elite intention to establish by this powerful precedent the liberty-killing notion that the winners of any given election thereby gain a license to treat the Constitution's requirements as optional.

Keyes has previously argued that only Birthers are truly loyal to the Constitution and should be allowed to be President. Despite such resentment, there is growing support for Birther ideas within the GOP:

  • Missouri House Majority Leader, Republican State Rep. Timothy W. Jones, is a close ally and partner of “Birther Queen” Orly Taitz, and was “was listed as a plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by lawyer-dentist Taitz to obtain an original birth certificate, immigration records, passports and other vital records from Obama.”
  • Congressman-Elect Tim Walberg (R-MI) claims that the he “really didn’t know” if Obama was a citizen, and that the President “hasn't resolved” the controversy over his eligibility. He suggested that House Republicans should consider impeaching Obama over the matter.
  • Congressman-Elect Steve Pearce (R-NM) agreed with the Birthers arguments for questioning Obama’s citizenship and said that “Barack Obama raised the most significant questions himself.”
  • US Senator David Vitter (R-LA), who just won reelection, said that he supports Birther lawsuits and called them “the valid and most possibly effective grounds” to contest Obama’s eligibility.
  • Roy Blunt (R-MO), the former GOP Minority Whip and now US Senator-Elect, said: “What I don't know is why the president can't produce a birth certificate. I don't know anybody else that can't produce one. And I think that that's a legitimate question -- no health records, no birth certificate.”

Maybe the Republican Party is moving in Keyes’s direction after all.

Keyes Slams Gingrich, Claims Only Birthers Are Eligible To Be President

Recently, Newt Gingrich dipped his toes into Birther waters by suggesting that it is really President Obama's fault if people think he was born in Kenya or is secretly a Muslim. Gingrich claimed that while he does not believe such things many other people do, and the reason they do is because Obama has failed to quell their fears. 

This is typical Gingrich: playing to the right-wing base by validating extremist claims while simultaneously positioning himself as a reasonable commentator who doesn't necessarily believe such things.

But Alan Keyes is sick of it and absolutely lays into Gingrich and, in doing so, provides a good explanation of the game that Gingrich plays (albeit from a very, very right-wing perspective): 

Gingrich’s remarks are an apt illustration of the main reason why it’s so difficult to have confidence in Republican leaders like him. It’s too obvious that everything they do and say is motivated by partisan calculation rather than by any sincere concern for the integrity of the Constitution and the liberty it is supposed to establish. In this instance, for example, by saying that he believes that Obama was absolutely born in the United States Gingrich dutifully aligns himself with the elite party line. He then seeks to pander to the persistent and still growing number of Americans who have reasonable doubts about Obama’s background. But Gingrich does not treat those doubts as reasonable. Instead he ascribes them to fear and anxiety. In this way, as a mouse skillfully maneuvers to pinch the cheese without springing the trap, Gingrich poses as someone who understands and sympathizes with those who have these doubts. Meanwhile, by contemptuously ascribing those doubts to irrational passions he makes shift to avoid the brickbats of his elitist buddies. Unfortunately for him this cleverly calculated pose of sympathy is not only transparently insincere, it invites us to task Gingrich with the same deficiency he pretends to see in Obama. Gingrich needs to figure out why it is that so many people remain unconvinced of facts he absolutely believes, absent any absolutely believable evidence as to their truth. He needs to figure out why it is that despite the best efforts of cleverly superior elites such as himself many people insist on applying their own common sense.

Of course, this being Keyes, he concludes by proclaiming that since Gingrich doesn't take the Birther claims seriously, he too is unfit to be President of the United States because he clearly has no respect for the Constitution:

Gingrich and those like him have no interest in preserving and respecting the authority of the Constitution of the United States. If they did they would stop playing cynical political games with an issue that so directly undermines that authority. They would cease their contemptibly clever efforts to use the issue for political advantage and instead support or undertake straightforward efforts to ascertain the facts and conscientiously reached the judgments the Constitution requires.

Like every official who has served in some capacity in the government of the United States Newt Gingrich swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. But on the simple and straightforward issue of the Constitution’s eligibility requirements for the office of President of the United States he has dutifully run with the jackals of contempt for anyone who demands that those requirements be respected. If elected president of the United States he will again swear the same oath as he takes office. Since he has forsworn it on so clear a constitutional issue as this, why should anyone believe that he or anyone like him will deal courageously with the more complex issues of constitutional integrity that now threaten to destroy our liberty.
