God Tells Robertson 2011 Will Bad For the World, Great For Robertson

Every year God personally tells Pat Robertson what to expect for the coming year ... like back in 2007 when He warned that "some very serious terrorist attacks" were going to rock major American cities.

This year God has told Robertson that America will fall into bankruptcy and turmoil ... but on the bright side, things are going to be great for Robertson's CBN network, Regent University, and American Center for Law and Justice:

Fischer Says Leading GOP Presidential Hopefuls All Fall Short

The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer takes a look at several of the GOP's presidential hopefuls and declares them all unacceptable and/or unelectable.

Mitt Romney:

Romney will prove unacceptable to genuine social conservatives because of his politics, not his religion. His newfound love affair with the public policy values of the Judeo-Christian tradition has all the marks of a conversion which is based on convenience rather than conviction. Romney knows he cannot win without support from the pro-life, pro-faith, pro-marriage community and so it appears he’s trying to paint himself as a sincere champion for our values. It is unlikely to work.

Mitt single-handedly, by executive fiat, imposed same-sex marriage on Massachusetts in 2004, and toppled the first domino in this disastrous social experiment ... And worse for him, he is the architect of the disastrous RomneyCare, a state-level version of ObamaCare.

Sarah Palin:

Sarah Palin is probably unelectable, because of her resignation as governor of Alaska and the savage and contemptible beating she has taken from the out-of-the-mainstream media. She has been successfully demonized by vicious press outlets, who seem determined to obliterate this woman’s electoral viability. And thanks to a gullible population which doesn’t believe anything the media says unless they say it about a conservative, she probably has too steep a hill to climb.

Newt Gingrich:

Newt’s troubled marital history is going to be his biggest problem. He is a brilliant thinker and strategist, and this seems to be his best role in assisting the conservative cause.

But the minimum social conservatives expect in their standard-bearer is someone who doesn’t just talk the talk when it comes to family values but walks the walk.

Unfortunately, Gingrich is on his third marriage, and left his first two wives while they were battling cancer and MS respectively. By his own admission, he was carrying on an affair with his current wife while leading the impeachment effort against President Clinton for lying about his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. There likely is simply too much baggage here. If Newt does not run, none of this becomes an issue. The moment he declares, it does become an issue that social conservatives cannot and will not ignore.

Mike Huckabee:

Conservatives remain lingeringly suspicious of his stance on taxes, immigration, and cap and trade. In the past, he’s been on the wrong side on each of these issues, and they are of enormous importance to the Tea Party crowd.

His record of clemencies will also prove to be a problem. He granted clemency to a man who had committed a vicious kidnap, rape, and murder (the killer drove over the girl’s body with his car repeatedly to make sure she was dead and then dumped her body in a swamp) and who then, after receiving clemency from the governor, killed four people in Seattle in cold blood. That’s going to be a tough one for the governor to get past.

We can’t blame the governor for the actions of someone else, but the fact remains that four people would be alive today were it not for this clemency, and this will hurt his campaign to become the chief law enforcement officer in the land.

Porter Planning Another Values Voter Presidential Debate

In May of 2010, Janet Porter's Faith 2 Action ministry more or less came to a grinding halt when her radio show was dropped by VCY America due to Porter's embrace of 7 Mountains/Dominionist theology as demonstrated by the May Day Prayer Rally she organized on the National Mall.

Since then, Porter has become even more involved in the Dominionist movement and continued to align herself with Cindy Jacobs.  And being freed from the responsibility to produce a daily radio show has given Porter an opportunity to focus on the important things ... like organizing another Values Voter Presidential Debate: 

It has been a difficult year for the ministry and for me in a number of ways, but I have chosen to thank God for it ... As we look forward to 2011, the exciting news that I have to announce is that we’re planning to do another “Values Voter Presidential Debate” next fall in Ohio. I'd like to host a convention prior to the event -- what do you think? That way, instead of a :30 second question from our nation's leaders, we would also get to hear from many of them -- including, perhaps, some leaders from the Tea Party movement. Is that something you could get behind?

Putting together a Presidential Debate comes with a price tag of close to $100,000. It could, however, put the candidates on record on the issues that matter most to us, and with the delegates equipped with keypads to vote, it could help determine the best candidate for Christians and pro-family Americans to rally behind. The debate, convention, and movie, as well as our ongoing work of producing commentaries & maintaining the website, will require much prayer, effort, and funds. The first Values Voter Debate was held in Florida in 2007 and featured a who's who of Religious Right activists and several GOP presidential hopefuls like Tom Tancredo, Sam Brownback, and Mike Huckabee, who received Porter's annointing, as a choir asked "Why Should God Bless America?"

So it remains to be seen if Republican presidential hopefuls will really show up to a debate organized by a woman who prays that God will give Christians like her complete control over all levels of government:

Former Adviser Says Vander Plaats "Obsessed With The Gay-Marriage Issue"

On the heels of the successful campaign to remove three Iowa Supreme Court justices because of the court ruling in favor of marriage equality, Bob Vander Plaats has made it his mission to get the four remaining justices removed as well and begun raising money for that purpose.

This, in turn, has prompted Dan Moore, a former adviser on three of Vander Plaats’ campaigns, to pen a guest column for the The Des Moines Register accusing Vander Plaats of becoming so "obsessed with the gay-marriage issue" that he is out to destroy the judiciary:

As a friend and former adviser on three of Bob Vander Plaats' campaigns, I understood from Bob that he was done with campaigning against the courts after the retention vote Nov. 2. Yet his senseless attacks on the courts continue.

Bob is obsessed with the gay-marriage issue. He is so obsessed that he would rather see the Iowa judicial system destroyed, instead of pursuing a change in the law within the channels provided (a constitutional amendment). Iowa's judicial system has been held in high regard by the entire United States. The Iowa judicial branch has a long history of exceptional service, distinguished and acclaimed decisions - and now it is being raked through the mud, disparaged, criticized and harangued daily.

I would like to ask all Iowans to step back and consider the gravity of what is now being proposed by Bob and other anti-court persons. They are suggesting that the four remaining Supreme Court justices be impeached ... Bob Vander Plaats, who is highly regarded by many conservatives in Iowa, is quite simply wrong to encourage Iowans to support the resignation or impeachment of the remaining four justices of the Iowa Supreme Court. He is grasping at political relevance using daily sound bites of misinformation to intentionally mislead.

I hope all Iowans step back and objectively analyze the damage to the Iowa judicial branch that Bob has already caused. The talk and rhetoric of resignation and impeachment should die.
